hellooooooo and welcome to TTSIC! i'm vvv excited to start and i can't wait to see what you all come up with as far as characters go. the limit of characters you can make is staying at one for now. if i feel like we need more characters, you can bring in a second. this goes without saying, but i would appreciate it if the number of genders are kept even! i don't want to see more girls than boys and i don't want to see more boys than girls. just a reminder, but this is not a first come first serve roleplay. after everyone has finished their character sheets, i will choose the ones that i feel best meet what i'm looking for, for this roleplay. also, please keep in mind that if your first character is not accepted into the group roleplay, you are more than welcomed to reapply with an updated version or a brand new one! with all that being said, if you have any questions, comments or concerns, don't hesitate to express them!

in all actuality demetrius is more laid-back than brooding. he is not someone who gets upset easily, his patience is one of his best qualities. it takes a lot to get him heated as he’s able to distance himself and gain his composure before doing anything irrational. demetrius doesn’t like being angry, he finds it exhausting. instead he tries to vent in other ways, ways that are healthy and not harmful. it can be said that he’s pretty chill or even boring in this regard. his ability to ignore or brush off upsetting things is admirable.

demetrius is definitely an extrovert through and through. with his big smile and disarming personality, he makes friends quite easily. though he is more selective with who he hangs out with because of his child, demetrius enjoys the company of other people. he’s not afraid of walking up to a person and striking up a conversation. demetrius is warm, definitely a people person.

【 background 】—
demetrius was born to janet, a high school secretary, and darius, a mechanic. the little family of three was not rich by any means but they had food on the table, clothes on their back, and plenty of love to keep them happy. demetrius was lucky enough to be the son of two loving parents who did their best to not let him go without.

his father would take his son out whenever he could. it was during their outings that demetrius discovered his love for sports, especially football. from the moment he latched on, his father had told him that he would be something special and he took those words to heart, joining the community team as soon as he was old enough.

demetrius was known as a silly little boy around the neighborhood and that didn’t change once his highschool years came. he was popular with his peers, a jock yet not the stereotypical ones that you’d see on tv. demetrius was not a bully, instead he was kind to his peers. though he did follow the pattern of dating the head cheerleader in school, even if his eyes wandered to some of the guys around school. he was quiet about his attraction, afraid of being outcasted because of who he was.

for a time life was simple for him, the sky seemed to be his only limit and he was enjoying is immensely. with graduation came a football scholarship that promised him a future in the big leagues. he worked tirelessly on the field to achieve his goals. but will success came jealousy and ill intentions. demetrius didn’t even see the people who had did it. an injury to his leg left him unable to play and with a permanent limp when he walks. it took him a while to recover, with his spirit dampened it took a little longer that what was considered normal. but with the help of those close to him meech was able to dust himself off and rise. he continued his education, becoming a athletic trainer to help those like him.

now that meech has graduated he’s ready to begin a new chapter in his life, one where he hopes that life won’t throw another major curveball his way.

Ami relied heavily on their internet pals to get them through the rough time of changing their legal name and going through school to become a Cosmetologist/nail tech and to go NC with their parents. They were very excited to meet the people who were with them through thick and thin. Ami went through school on their own dime, they were able to find a well paying job as a barista for Starbucks.

I've always lived either on my own or with my parents. I'm excited to have roommates and to have my found family to be there for me when I need it. THRILL-SEEKING- there's not a lot andi wouldn't do for a rush of adrenaline. she frequents amusement parks, goes skydiving, and is an unashamed ravebaby who partakes in psychedelics and mdma. she loves the rush she gets from it, and has found that thrill-seeking is a healthy way to regulate her adrenaline-seeking tendancies. otherwise, if she feels too pent up, she'll start arguments just for the rush of it all.

PASSIONATE- andi cares a lot about the things she's interested in, and will talk on and on about them for hours. she does get pretty animated about it, and people often see it as quirky (admittedly, some also say it's annoying). this plays pretty heavily into the manic pixie dream girl persona that gets cast onto her. that still doesn't stop andi from talking about her interest though.

OUTSPOKEN- big on boundaries, andi is not afraid to stick up for herself or others. she's incredibly strong-willed and has her own ideas about justice, which she strictly adheres to. she does tend to become a bit preachy sometimes, but the alternative is her flying off the handle in anger. so if you're just getting lectured, consider yourself lucky.

ENERGETIC- most days, andi has an endless pool of energy. her father often likens her to the energizer bunny, constantly going and going. even when andi is standing still, she's still constantly moving: bounding on the balls of her feet, wiggling, swaying, you name it. it does make her incredibly fun to be around, if you're the sort of person that likes that kind of thing.

CLINGY- once andi bonds with you, she's got trouble letting go. she takes friendships and relationships incredibly seriously in that she recognizes it as a commitment. her fatal flaw is not recognizing that not everyone else sees it the way that she does, and she often gets her feelings hurt. she always wants to be around that person, always wants to make plans to hang out, and gets upset when her plans are rejected.

MOODY- as sweet and as optimistic as andi can be, her mood can turn on a dime if the right buttons are pushed, or even if she's simply having a bad day. she can be pretty resilient for the most part, but under the right circumstances (if she's hungry or tired or upset) she can be incredibly sensitive and lash out.

RESTLESS- andi's sleep schedule is absolutely wrecked. she's usually up early for a morning job before work, which starts at 6am. then she's going all day long, coming home to do her school work, hanging out with friends at night. she'll go long period of time with no sleep, then all of a sudden crash for three days straight. beyond that, she has trouble sitting still, so she's honestly thankful she's a barista because it keeps her moving. at home she uses an exercise ball at her desk to do her school work. if she's watching tv she's usually multitasking on her phone or finding some other way to multitask.

CONDESCENDING- andi knows she's good at what she does, and has no problem making sure other people know that. she doesn't intend to make other people feel dumb when she does it, she just sees it as solid self-confidence. if someone points it out to her, she'll feel really bad and apologize, but often she continues on, unaware that she's being annoying.

childhood

andromeda was born on a military base in new mexico to an unstoppable force of a couple: edmundo and georgina reyes. the both of them were well respected at the air force, and her father was set to grow in rank. her mother had finished her four years in the air force and had decided to momentarily stop working for the first few years of andi's life. andi spent a lot of time with her mother as a child, sitting and playing at home with her while her mother did schoolwork for her online degree. there weren't many other children at the base, and her parents weren't keen on having any other children, so andi was very often alone. her mother did her best to interact and fully engage with andi, but balancing a child with her schoolwork proved to be a little difficult. andi was a happy child anyway, always lost in her imagination and running around and wreaking havoc. and god did she babble, and when she was old enough she just talked and talked. her parents didn't mind so much, though. she was a bright child and they were proud of that. life got easier when andi started attending school. she was able to make friends and have more social interaction, leaving her mother more free time to finish her degree in half the time. by the time andi was eight years old, her mother was working for spacex, and her father had become master sergeant.andi was an incredibly social child and made tons of friends at school, but due to the nature of the job, the reyes family found themselves being relocated a lot, so none of andi's early friendships were ever long lasting.

things changed when andi got to high school. the reyes family was finally able to settle down for a while. andi joined the softball and cross-country teams, and later joined jrotc in true military-brat nature. she was pretty popular in school, although not one of the in-crowd. people just liked her and had fun with her, and knew it wasn't a party unless she was invited. around age sixteen, her mother and father separated. her mother wanted to move elsewhere for job convenience (she was tired of making business trips all the time), and her father was adamant that andi should stay in one place to finish out high school. he felt guilty for moving her place to place all the time as a child. her mother left, and andi lived alone with her father for the next few years, even staying with him while attending university. during this time, her father experimented more with his sexuality and came out as bisexual, which meant that he and andi had more to bond about than they had expected. he dated a few people off and on, but it was clear he missed andi's mother, and was practically attached to her every time she came to visit. andi internalized that a lot, and felt as if she was the only thing keeping them apart.

when covid hit, her mother came back home to quarantine with them, and her mother and father rekindled their relationship, though they decided to keep it open. it was an odd dynamic for andi to get used to, but once she did, she saw the merit in it and became more open to polyamory. being trapped in the house and attending classes online was enough to drive andi insane. she missed the thrill of roller coasters. she missed the thumping of the crowd at festivals. she missed the hustle and bustle of a busy coffee shop. and she was desperate for human interaction. so she did what anyone would do, she made friends online. and it was the best decision of her life, because now it's led her here: to this exciting new experience in covington.

Q: How do you feel about moving to Covington?
A: "A little nervous, honestly. Moving back with my parents during quarantine was rough but I got sorta comfortable there, you know? Now I'm moving to a whole other state and like-- it's nothing new for me, I've moved my whole life. I'm gonna miss my dad I guess, but, at least I'll have friends already! And I'll make more in no time, I'm sure of it."

Q: How excited are you about meeting your friends and living with them?
A: "I think that's the best part about this whole thing honestly! As apprehensive as I am about moving to Covington, I know I'm gonna be fine. These guys will have my back, I'm sure of it. I'm super thrilled to be taking this next step in my life with so many people that I adore by my side."

Q: What are you looking forward to most?
A: "Well I'm not going to feel lonely for a while, now am I? The house is always going to be bustling and moving with so many people living under one roof. It's wonderful! It's like we get to build our own little community here where everyone's got everyone else's back."

hair color/style. dark brown, cut short but with length to it. saturday's hair has a natural wave to it that makes him look like he just got out of the shower, but it's silky to the touch.

attire. saturday doesn't put much effort into his wardrobe. he's conscious enough of his appearance to try and look decent day-to-day, but not so much that he tries to coordinate his outfits or grow his wardrobe. saturday's preferred style of clothing is academic or business casual. it makes him look better than average while still being comfortable enough for him to go about his day. on more casual days, or when he has grueling to work do , he sticks to band tees, sweatshirts, and loose jeans or shorts. he loves sweaters and t-shirts, but is anti-skinny jeans; it doesn't matter how good they make him look.

modifications. saturday got his ears pierced as moral support for a friend in middle school. he rarely wears earrings, but the holes still haven't closed.

↱persona. Saturday is the quintessential Boy Next Door. He's charming in a dorky sort of way, is super sociable despite his anxiety, and is super cute but super straight. Growing up as an only child made Saturday super accustomed to having attention on him, and having to socialize with anyone who stops by. He wasn't the kid who performed or showed off for visitors, but he did enjoy getting to learn what they did and talking about anything and everything for as long as they'd let him. Even now, Saturday loves talking to people and learning about them, but because of his nerdy interests, he doesn't talk much about himself.

Outside of science and creating, one of the easiest things for Saturday to do is make friends. He's a loyal young man who loves to banter and easily matches the energies of those around him. He's not only loyal to a fault, but has a strong sense of justice; he'll stand up in defense of someone else before stopping to consider himself. He tends to stick his neck out for those who may not do the same for him, and has a tendency to brush his own needs aside. He'll defend himself but be just as quick to settle to keep things moving on.

Saturday is a very new-age, keeps up with the trends guy, but he's an old soul when it comes to how he deals with people. He's such a romantic and all about the courting traditions. Saturday may come off as charismatic, but he views himself as the complete opposite, scolding himself for his tangents and missteps frequently. He's a bit of a rambler, especially when it comes to anything music or science related ( also adores talking about his family), and at times Saturday will talk so much that even he doesn't know what he's talking about. It's hard to stop once he gets going.

─ how do you feel about moving to covington?
It's weird. Cool. But weird. I thought I'd be living with my parents until I was at least 24, and had finished college; I did finish college, just earlier than expected. My parents were surprisingly onboard considering my friends are practically strangers to them, but I guess it is pretty common for adults to live with strangers when they move to a new place. Covington has a much more small-town vibe than I'm used to, and California is no Minnesota, but I'll figure it out. I always do.

─ how excited are you about meeting your friends and living with them?
In some ways, these guys were my lifeline. A series of buoys floating along in the sea that I could grasp when the waves got too choppy. I sound like my dad, but that's the best way I can explain it. A lot of my friendships in high school were shallow at best, but I really got to know this group during Covid. I shared more about myself with them than I do with people back home, and I trust them more too.

─ what are you looking forward to most?
I'm an only child who's never had to share a space (outside of college) or been pressured to leave home. I've always been fiercely independent, but it's nice to share my space with someone else for once. Living with a bunch of adults probably sounds like a nightmare, but honestly??? It sounds both entertaining and like the ultimate people challenge.

─ Growing up, Saturday didn't know he was adopted. His parents were a dark-haired, Caucasian man, who looked like he couldn't let go of the 80s, and a tall, slender Japanese woman with a western face. Jonah and Yuki. For the longest time, Saturday simply thought he was half-white and favored his mother. It's not that uncommon; his childhood friend Sara was Japanese and white. The day Saturday found out, 4rd grade, after-school science camp, was when they were doing punnet squares. Everything made perfect sense to Saturday, his parents both had brown eyes, so he got brown eyes. They both had dark hair, so Saturday had dark hair - not including the potential for recessive genes, anyway. It wasn't until he got home, excitedly rambling about what he'd learned and proudly showing off his punnet square that his parents shared a look. Fair to say, his elementary school brain was shook, and punnet squares are a weird footnote in his history.

In childhood, Saturday was always a bit more advanced than the other kids. He frequently got assigned work higher than his grade level to keep his mind stimulated. His parents wanted Saturday to grow up at the same rate as his peers, so he didn't skip any grades but they did put him in a lot of extracurricular activities throughout the years to keep him engaged and learning. Fair to say, the science fair was one of Saturday's favorite events of the school year. Despite his nerdy proclivities, Saturday was always a super social and engaging kid. He loved meeting people and chatting just as much as he loved challenging math problems. So he was well-adjusted for the most part, although his hearing issues did cause some set-backs and anxiety.

The tween/teen years were filled with the usual angst and insecurity. Saturday started sharing less and less about his interests to try and mesh better with his peers, he started wondering about his birth parents -but didn't want to meet them, and started to grow into himself. Going from a small, but cute, impish looking kid to a gangly, smelly youth over night. He'd always gotten a lot of attention, and was accustomed to it, as an (Adorable) only child, but the attention Saturday got in these years was much less fond and made him question how he looked. He's still unsure if they were good or bad looks, but it was also the time he got adopted by the "cool(er)" kids, so maybe he looked alright. This was also the time Saturday started playing an instrument and started sharing in his dad's interest in music and his mom's love for cooking. He started shadowing his dad's friend at the mechanic shop, eventually getting a summer job there too. And his parents were overjoyed that he was branching out in his hobbies.

Saturday may not have skipped any grades, but he definitely took enough dual credit courses to graduate a year earlier than planned. In fact, the year he graduated was after Covid had kicked off in 2021. It was great to have less workload due to online classes, but man did it suck having a virtual graduation because you decided not to do another year of school. The time after college/during Covid was very isolating for Saturday. He loved his parents, but it felt like he had no one to talk to and nothing to really keep him busy. He started to get into a slump and that's why he turned to the internet, meeting his, now, best friends. During peak Covid, Saturday took up a job working at a call center to support his parents, but around 2021 to present, he's been doing mechanic work. Since Saturday hasn't been in school, and he's been looking for something new to pursue, he was very much on board for moving to Covington to meet his friends face-to-face. Living with his parents had started getting stifling and he felt it was time to shift gears and do something new.

Saturo is called Saturday by everyone he knows, minus his mother and grandparents. The name is because, until Saturday was 6 years old, his parents only called him by his given name. But upon it being time for him to start school, Saturo's parents told him he could give himself an English name for people to call him, if it would make him feel more comfortable. And well... Saturday was not only Saturo's favorite day of the week, but when he got to do all his favorite things like watch morning cartoons, visit his grandparents, spend time with his parents, and go to day camp. Plus it even sounded similar to his name. At first, the other kids thought it was silly, but it caught on pretty fast and the rest was history.
