Welcome to Tianshan, where an old crisis has once again reared its ugly head. Demons of all kinds, once banished and sealed inside of a magical gate, are close to breaching the ancient seal put there by the first group of heroes eons ago. All the nations are banding together to train another legendary group of heroes to fight the menace again.

The stormguard, the elite forces with members from all nations has once again assembled. Its leader, Tien Ha Minh, has issued an formal letter to all the nation's.

I, Tien Ha Minh, have once again regrouped the stormguard as ominous clouds of darkness and despair are gathering. The demonslayer academy has opened its doors to anyone willing to join our ranks and fight the darkspawn. We once restricted our admissions to only the a handpicked few but it has become clear that is backwards thinking and will only lead to our doom. Therefore, on my authority, I await all those who wish to attend our academy and fight the demons of old. We welcome those of all social classes and professions. Let us cleanse the demons once again.

Tien Ha Minh

"Therefore, on my authority, I await all those who wish to attend our academy and fight the demons of old. We welcome those of all social classes and professions. Let us cleanse the demons once again. Tien Ha Minh."

The closing statements were read out over clanking glasses and drunken cheer. After the owner's daughter's wedding, the tavern was up to the rafters with attendees crashing in for the after party celebrations, merrily singing in chorus. Old man Cho stroked his wispy beard in thought as he gave the parchment a once over, eyeing the new girl suspiciously over the page. With a sigh, he rolled up the scroll and tossed it over the counter, which Xiuying caught neatly in one hand.

"The Stormguard opening their doors to common rabble, good gods! What's this world come to?" He clinked together a pair of glasses and handed them off to the bartender beside him, who was already on her return trip back with a tower of ceramic plates stacked in one hand. "Your generation's got it good," he said, shaking his head as he pushed in the girl's order of iced water. "Once those gates come down again, you'll have all the prestige without any of the work. What a load of garbage."

"Father said you could lend me a horse," Xiuying chirped, taking a sip of cool water with both hands as she completely ignored the old man's whining.

"A horse!? What in the-" Cho impatiently combed back his balding hair with his hand, clicking his tongue. "What do you need a horse for? It ain't that far a walk, miss." In response, the counter shook as she heaved her bags over, nearly toppling the line of empty cups by the gambling tables.

"I beg to differ," she grinned, leaning into the luggage and resting her chin in her hands. "Unless you'd like to carry my things for me."

The grumpy man muttered something incomprehensible under his breath, rolling his eyes as he called over one of his waiters and whispered in his ear. He pointed to a table in the far corner - by the firelight, the gathering crowd's rhythmic chanting grew louder and louder as they pounded the tables, hyping up the once in a lifetime arm wrestling match between old rivals Zan and Zi, reunited the only way possible after nearly a decade estranged.

"Alright, girl," Cho said, rubbing his temples as he weaved his way to the back entrance, casually dodging a flying glass on the way there. "Over here."

Xiuying lifted her things with little effort, skipping along behind him as she hummed happily to herself.

"Shui's old, but she's still got hell of a kick left in her. Been meaning to let her go, actually, so timing's all well that you've shown your mug around here." He led her around the back, showing her to a small outdoor stable where a couple horses stood side by side, roped to the wooden supports. "Your father's a real bastard, ya know that?" he said, suddenly turning shoulder and jabbing his pudgy finger in her nose. "If you see that old fart again, tell him no more favors! He's been running me dry for six years now, you're lucky you're even getting the horse this time." He loosened the rope and draped it over the waist-high wall, handing the horse to Xiuying by the reigns.

"Treat her right, got it, kid?" he continued, his voice stern but fretful. "She's been with the family a long time now, but. . . she's yours now."

"Not to worry, I will treat her with utmost care!" she said with a deep bow, raising her head with a beaming grin as she accepted the offering. As she ran her fingers through her mane, the steed seemed to respond positively to her touch. Hoisting herself onto the saddle with her baggage, she bowed again - as much as she could on the horse - and waved goodbye to a teary-eyed Cho. Grumbling to himself again, he looked away and pushed through the back door into the tavern, shaking his fist at some fool who was dancing on the tables.

Through the dawn, she tore across the open dirt road, wind rushing through her hair and a new look of adventure rising in her face. Over the horizon, she could see it - the roof of the demonslayer academy building, slowly phasing into view as she rode over the hill. She trotted up through the front gardens, admiring the neatly trimmed hedge walls and the brilliant flowers that adorned them - chrysanthemums and hydrangeas, like jewels studded in verdant jade.

Today was a good day, and tomorrow. . . surely, it must be even better!

Tien Ha Minh stood at the academy's courtyard , his body and mind coordinating his movements and strategies as he tore through invisible enemies with his yuandao. One of the tower guards spotted a lone rider moving toward the academy at top speed.

'Ah an adventurer archetype. It will be interesting to have a brother or sister in arms with real life experience and worldly knowledge.'

"Gate guards, when that rider reaches the towers, get them warmly and escort them to their proper rooms. Have them fitted for training garb and feed them. Time waits for no warrior!"

With a loud affirmation, the guards gathered at the courtyard gates, preparing to meet the rider.

As the colors of the sky started changing from the brightness of the day to the dark blue of the night and the stars would soon litter the sky shining like diamonds Shao Gong was standing in the pavilion of a nobleman that had offered him to stay for the night so Shao Gong wouldn't need to ride through the night alone and played a melody that seemed as if it was carried away by the winds.

A servant walked up to him hesitantly as if he didn't want the melody to stop but was still feeling the urgency to deliver whatever he had to give him. Shao Gong finished the melody and smiled a small smile as the man bowed slightly and handed him a letter. Shao Gong took it and nodded before the man hurried off.

The contents of the letter sent his heart aflutter and a smile sneaked onto his lips as he finished reading the last sentence. He could hardly believe it! He would finally get a chance to become stronger and maybe someday be able to face his brother again. The demon slayer academy was opening its doors again and he would be able to enter!

Usually, he kept his expressions mild and behaved properly as well as rather reserved but as the excitement over the news got harder and harder to contain, he burst out giggling and whirled around to hurry to the room he had been provided for the night. He was behaving so out of character the servant at the door looked like he saw a ghost, but Shao Gong couldn't bring himself to be his calm self at that moment as he started hurrying about the place packing the few things that were his.

He apologized to the noble family and thanked them sincerely for the offer for him to stay the night but he knew he wouldn't be able to sleep a wink even if he tried, so instead, he went to his horse and started riding towards the demon slayer academy where he would hopefully learn to become stronger. He was still feeling too guilty over the past to face his brother and once he would be strong enough he would go and find him to prove that music and dancing wasnt the only thing he could be great at.

*A claw would pick up the letter off of a citizen that was killed by a few bandits. Those bandits burning around him. This what seemed to be somewhat half draconic would mount on a horse and ride off, Hed reach the near by area of the demon acdemy. He would take the time go give his horse some rest before he finishes the journey,

*He would begin to cook him self some food and give the horse a apple. The smoke from the camp fire could be seen. But it was a well controlled fire. The next day hed reach the academy and take out his blade, It being mostly standerd with only the fact that instead of a normal silver this blade had a pure white color to it. He would kneel in front of the academy door.* I wish to become a demon hunter. May I have entry?

"Ah! Ye back! How's the catch today missy?" Her regular customer, Boss Yu, said as soon as she entered his shop with a half full basket of fish on her back, "looks like you got a good catch today!"

Xiao Xing dumped the basket on the table and let his check the quality of the fish. It was a good catch indeed. She had filled her basket at record time and before anyone else could fill up half of theirs. It might have been luck or her skills but either way, she was finally going to be able to have some time for herself. She grinned when he handed her the bag of coins, "thanks Boss Yu. I'll see you next time!"

"Ah! I heard the stormguards are coming here, ye should check it out missy."

She nodded and waved him goodbye before exiting the shop. As if luck was on her side today, she easily found those stormguards that Boss Yu had mention to her. There was a crowd surround them, but she made her was through the front just in time for the announcement to begin. Once the spokesperson, Then Ha Minh, had finished talking, the crowds dispersed and went back to what they were doing. No one seemed to be interested in what he had said. No one except Wei Xiao Xing. She dashed home as fast as she could and prepare herself for the journey.

"A horse," she said to herself, "yes a horse."

Yue Xiao Xing knew exactly where she can get a horse. She remembered that one of the fellow hunter had lost his son recently and wanted to get rid of the the horse but no one would take it and they couldn't bring themselves to kill it as it. After everything was packed, Xiao Xing went to their place and get the horse. Once she had gotten the horse, she began her journey to the academy.

"Demonslayer academy?" Aeri said trying to get clarification from her mother who was sitting on the opposite of their dining table. Aeri took the final bite out of her mother's grilled fish, it was far better than anything she herself had cooked, and though this was nice in the moment- it installed just a slight feeling of envy in Aeri.
"Yes, something or other about anyone coming to the academy and fighting the demons of old. I didn't get all the details, I could only hear so much from the cheering crowds outside. Although it sounds like a serious affair it also sounds like something you would be extremely good at, considering you're always missing our dance rehearsals to train yourself in combat. Even now you're dressed for combat." Aeri smirked at her mother's words.
"Oh please mother, don't lie, I attend all of my rehearsals. As for our rehearsals, I haven't danced with you and father since I was a child!"
"You'd be right there." Her mother chuckled watching her daughter finish the drink she had beside her. No matter how old Aeri got her mother never stopped seeing her as her little girl. "So, are you going to check it out? The academy."

"I will as soon as I leave actually."
"Then you'd better go and prepare for the journey now then, I heard about this a while ago." Aeri looked at her mother with a hint of irritation, she'd been at her parents house for two hours hour and a half now.
"You should've stopped by to visit earlier Aeri, I could've told you earlier. But no always training. Ugh, you should leave the martial arts to men." She said as Aeri had already gotten up and tucked her chair under the table. She was sad to see her daughter go, between living in her own house now and not dancing as much as before, she didn't see Aeri often. "I'll tell our performance manager you'll be away for a while. Good luck at the academy baby"
"Thank you mother, thank you for the food too. Goodbye." She said rushing out of the door.

Aeri arrived at her own house shortly after, she gathered only a few essentials as well as her weapons and put them into two separate pouches, which she then put on her horse. Aeri's heart began to race as quick as her horse galloped towards the academy as the young woman began to imagine what kind of experiences she'd have there. She was anxious to find out just how many other people showed up, and just how many she needed to rise above to become the greatest martial artist of all.
"Who knows, maybe it'll be fun to watch the demon's faces in disbelief as a mere human defeats them all." She said thinking out loud and grinning as her thoughts went on with the journey.

Tien Ha Minh watches from his room in the tower as Xiuying is warmly welcomed and escorted to her room with her new gear. 'Its good to have someone who has real life experience.'

Then he noticed a young noble carrying a instrument being escorted to his quarters. 'Interesting, a musician. I look forward to what he will bring to the fold.'

Then finally a young female fighter entered the grounds. Tien Ha Minh's eyes lit up as she was guided to her room. It is rare to see a seasoned female martial artist. I look forward to seeing her training in action.'

He hollered to the guards to keep looking for more riders as he headed to the training room to set up for the first day.

Xiuying heaved her luggage into the room like trash bags, leaping into bed with her limbs outstretched. Her giggling could be heard faintly through the door as the mattress bounced her up into the air. Nice and springy, not rock hard like the floor mats at home. They may have been rich, but her parents always valued a more. . . traditional lifestyle. And she didn't really believe them when they told her it was better for her back anyway, because it would be killing her first thing every morning. Good riddance!

Her head poked through the doorway to gander at the following newcomers, her ponytail swinging freely behind her. Everyone's so young. . . I mean, I know I'm one to speak, but still!
She casually stepped out and pulled her hair over her lip like a mustache, presenting her best fake old man voice.

"Hello, children. Welcome to the gallant and venerable Demonslayer Academy, I am your supervisor, Tien Ha Minh. Please enjoy your stay-"

She suddenly locked eyes with an actual teacher coming down the hall and fumbled over the air, sputtering and beating at her chest to squeeze out a few coughs. Badly whistling, she leaned awkwardly into the wall and crossed her arms, averting her gaze. Hoo boy. . . botching your first impressions, Xiuying? How. . . Xiuying of you. Slowly, her eyes drifted back to the students.

". . . Hey," she finally managed, ignoring the advancing footsteps as cold sweat ran down her brow. "Pleasure to meet you all. I'm Song Xiuying. You can call me Ying."

Tien Ha Minh was walking through the hallway of the dorms and was just in time to see Ying's impression of him. It definitely got a chuckle from him. One of his former students had also done a similiar thing but in front of the whole class. It was definitely amusing to see another young person do the same routine. He quietly approached her and when he saw she heard his footsteps, he waited with a gentle smile for her to turn around.

"Ying-er, I believe those are my lines and it usually is less raspy. I'm not that old you know."

He walked away shaking his head at her impression.

'It's so similiar to his impression.'

He peeked into his office to see if all the students' paperwork had been put on his desk yet. He spotted four packets that needed to be looked over and approved. Sighing, he sit in his chair and began to look over their files. Ying's file was on top and her impression of him suddenly popped into his mind, causing him to chuckle as he opened her file.

'Hmm definitely an adventurer through and though, despite her noble backgrounds. I can see why she wanted to join the academy. Very interesting and she seems like she has a bit of experience. Let's put her in the morning class. I want to see what kind of drive she has myself.'

Upon arrival at the academy, Aeri was immediately greeted and shown to the dorm area. It seemed there were two others ahead of her, a girl and a boy, they looked similar to her in age at the very least. Though there wasn't much time to talk, given that they too were being rushed over to the dorm area. The academy was nicer than Aeri was expecting, far more roomy anyway. Just the sections for the dorms alone were impressionably large. Aeri was just fixing one of the pouches she had removed from her horse when she noticed a voice. A rather embarrassed one at that. The girl that stood before the group called herself Song Xiuying, her rather awkward position made Aeri squint as she wondered why she had gotten into that position. It didn't look comfortable. Aeri thought maybe she'd try it once she was in a private area.
"That's a pretty name. Hello Ying, my name is Aeri Rhie. Hello to the rest of you all too I suppose." She said not knowing anyone around her, this was a rather unfamiliar situation for her. Aeri tried to remain as neutral as possible right now, though in the back of her mind she knew that it'd be the people surrounding her right now that will compete with her for the title of indisputably best combatant at the academy.

Though she wanted to dump these pouches in her room as soon as possible, Aeri was curious about the rest of the students, they would probably all become familiar with one another now so she couldn't afford to miss it. "Where did you all need to travel from to get here? I took a horse over from my house not too far away from here actually." She said maybe a bit too cheerfully.

Tien Ha Minh finished with Ying's file and grabbed the next file on the stack. This one was on Aeri Rhie, a dancer from Ungjin. The young woman was from a middle class family and was talented dancer. She honed her skills through dance and grew strong through martial arts. Her martial arts was an unique form he had not yet seen in person.

'Ah I see, this girl is always pushing her limit. It has not done great for her ego but her skills have improved her ambition. This academy has churned out the finest demon slayers in history. I look forward to see how far her ambition will take her.'

He turned to address his secretary who was sorting through his less important papers.

"Have her placed in a team building class. I wish to see if she plays well with others. Demon slayers are a team and not lone wolves."
