|:| Jasper Bent |:|

Must've been that nail.

Jasper picked up this thought from her mind, and, through the interpretation of her hand motion behind her head, gave a very subtle nod. She must've suffered a blow from a nail to the back of the head, a form of trauma, and therefore suffered some sort of damage as a result. Whatever it was, it was enough for his weakened mental communication to be... compatible, so to say. He cracked half of a grin, pondering the possibilities of being able to communicate with another inmate telepathically without the guards knowing. Maybe making an ally out of Lany wasn't as horrible an idea as he thought at first. It still took a good bit of his mental workload to send the message, more than before, and his messages to her were choppy on occasion, but it didn't seem like a complete hindrance just yet. Seemed like Lany was still getting the full picture.

At least focused eye contact on Lany was a good distraction from the man just next to him: Alasdair. The less eye contact they made, the less likely the connection would be made. However, obvious avoidance would be a problem, too. He exchanged a quick look to his side to try and read Linwood's mind, just in case he had a similar case of head trauma. Sadly, nothing. He didn't show any sort of disappointment, and instead, kept himself focused on the events of the ever-growing table setting. Seven criminals all on the same table by some strange circumstances...

And now, they were going to play show and tell, it seems. What's your name, power, and if you want, your crime? Jasper gulped and leaned slightly away from the table. That would be enough to expose his entire identity to Alasdair and possibly start a whole new world of problems that he didn't need in this nifty alliance. Not to mention that prisoners don't take lightly to 'cops' or law-enforcers of any kind among them. Jasper would be the first to get a nice little ass-whooping if he says much about his past life. Especially from those he's personally put in here.

Starting off with the fellow who'd summoned not only writing material to make communication with Nix easier, but also a slew of other devices like nails and scraps right before their eyes, as if it'd just materialized out of nowhere. An inventor, science freak... psycho? What kind of people would he be in bed with? He did seem like a genius nonetheless. An evil one to match the good, book-smart genius within Jasper. It was a surprise he could summon dangerous material like that and not get in trouble with the CO's for it, unless he was being monitored by one of them, but who? Whoever it was, all the mind-reader would know is that he and Will would have a lot in common, but also a lot to be at odds with.

Then there was Lany, the sort of 'good luck charm'. Bulletproof, and anything she touches could be bulletproof as well. He'd seen firsthand how effective she was with the bent fork tongs. Restraining her might be difficult, and more importantly, if someone were to take a piece of her flesh, like Valerie had, they would still have the invincibility that comes with touching the actual thing. Not that he'd consider knocking teeth out of her for their protection... but it was good to know if they wanted a human invincibility chain.

Next came the newcomer to the table: Severinus Boethius, one from the kitchen staff. His words and mannerisms seemed to give the impression he was a man of the cloth; another man of good intentions stuck in a horrible place like this, and judging by the circumstances of his crime, all by a horrible accident during his homily. A man who could make events or passages from the Bible... come to life, in so many words. An interesting ability, but one that he had to be careful using. Just by reading the book of Revelation, he could bring the apocalypse upon mankind. A blessing, but also a curse, it seems. He was a pretty good cook, it seemed though, and Jasper showed that appreciation by nodding along with Will's compliments.

Now it was Jasper's turn. When it came to crimes... this would be a challenge. He'd already lied horribly once before... but by hearing others, he found a decent enough way to work around his words and not get recognized by Linwood.

"Jasper Bent," he began. He had no idea if his name was that well known, being a judge's personal mind-reader... but he had to risk some honesty. He fiddled with the fork in his tray, twirling it between his fingers. "As you can see, I'm a mind-reader, a telepath you may also call it. I can not only read minds, but also send telepathic messages to anyone in eye's sight, even ones that aren't even my voice, so long as I've heard the sound before. Yeah... a real mind-fucker, right? Sadly, my abilities are limited in here thanks to the drugs they've pumped me with, but it seems as though I've found a loophole."

He gave Lany a quick wink, then sent her another message, Probably is the nail. ...'ll talk about this arrang... ...ter.

He returned to speaking aloud, scratching beneath his nose to check if he were bleeding. Least he hadn't strained himself that badly yet. Now for the kicker: what was he in for? "As for why I'm here? Well.... I apparently sent an ear-piercing noise into the brain of a politician. Turned his brain into mush by literally looking at him. Nobody really knew how to explain it... until my ability came to light. I'd heard a very loud screeching noise in my childhood, and all I had to do was replicate it into his mind, according to the court of law. And boom: no more big guy in the suit. His brain literally leaked out of his ears from how bad it ended up. Pretty nasty, but I'd hate to bother you all with those details while on the breakfast table." He shrugged, relaxing a bit after having his story straight.

A politician, not specifying that it was a judge, and a cause of death that was the same as the reality. The only kicker... "It's all speculation, but it was enough to incarcerate me, all the same. Not much I can do now but spend half a century here, right? Not like whether I actually did it or not matters anymore. Where I'm from, they don't revisit cases often. And with a politician dead, someone had to take the blame. Guess it had to be me..."

That should keep him safe, for now.

|:| Valerie Masterson & Edward Brookes |:|

After marching out of the cafeteria in a blaze of anger and confusion, Valerie's next stop would be her office to avoid an emotional reaction in front of the inmates. Her failure to capture the disobedient inmate into her spell left her questioning if it was her own fault or a weakness in her abilities that prevented her powers from working at full capacity. She needed a moment to cool down, punch a wall... screaming would be an option if it wouldn't automatically trigger lockdown thanks to the microphone system across the prison. If before, she could be called crabby and irritable, her mood had now taken and even deeper nosedive as it was now fueled by aggression and anger. She was certainly in for a mouthful from the Warden for that show of misconduct. He could get behind some violence to show force... but a full on beating due to a rageful outburst was not going to fly.

And her consequences were coming faster than she could ever expect. As she stood in her plain but unorganized office, kicking the wall and growling to herself to get over the hate in her heart before going back onto the floor, her cracked open door flew open by the forceful hand of her war-veteran boss with his usual look of displeasure over his face, a quick change from his happy expression and hospitable demeanor upon meeting with Doctor Gordon. Valerie spun in place to face the 'intruder', her hand at her holster just in case it was a nosy inmate who'd followed her to her office instead of to the cafeteria. Her grip released when she saw it was the Warden, but she still looked uptight and angry all the same.

"What in the hell were you thinking out there?" Edward barked, getting right to the point without so much as a 'good morning' to start off.

It was then that Valerie realized that her ticking clock was getting the better of her, and was getting close to compromising her job. Her eye twitched as she stepped closer to her boss. "That little twat was disobedient, spitting in my face ever since last night, then keeping up that poor behavior till this morning. She tried to grab my weapon; what did you expect me to do?"

"She's crippled. I understand that she's the bulletproof one, but it wouldn't take much effort from her to play the victim card and say that a guard was beating up an amputee in this prison, and then were do you think we'll be? No wait, I'll tell you: hemorrhaging money, that's where we'd be, all because of a lawsuit that could've been prevented had you controlled your temper!"

The Warden's hint of sarcasm bothered the head of security, and nearly tempted her to take a swing at his face. It might've exposed his icy properties, as well as the cooler touch she'd feel if she dared lay hands on him. But, the little she knows... she resisted the urge to try and suffocate him, and instead, stepped forward and got in his face. "You know you'd do the same to a guard for insubordination. Not only that..." She gritted her teeth, ashamed to even admit why she had that outburst now after thinking of it. She went on in a soft grumble, "My powers... they didn't work on her. She was immune, and I can't figure out why. And I wasn't going to let her walk all over me like that. And you wouldn't either."

Brookes was equally surprised, arching an eyebrow at what he'd just heard. An inmate couldn't be hypnotized in case she decided to act out... "That doesn't justify a public beating, even if she reached for your weapon. If she gets wise and decides to lawyer up for in-house abuse, it's you who's gonna burn at the stake." He rolled out his fist, letting just his index finger free in a pointing fashion, the forcefully pressed it against Valerie's shoulder. She could feel the cooler nature through her button-down shirt, and glared back into his icy gaze, unfazed by the idea of being the scapegoat. "Yes, I agreed about showing force, but there's a limit to everything. You were out of line out there."

"Well what do you want from me? To go apologize to the bitch?"

"Rather, lay low. I can hold my breath with you joking and name calling, and even what you did to Mister Bent so long as it was just a scare..."
Valerie refrained from growling at how much of her actions were known to the Warden. "But you can't go using the inmates as your personal punching bags. If you need it, get yourself one for your office to let out your outbursts. But I'm not going to tolerate senseless violence. That's not to say that we treat them like kings, either. You need to get your act together and learn to find a balance, or get out. There's only so much I can cover for you. You are good at your job, but that doesn't mean you're indispensable. Got it?"

Unhappy with her current situation, Valerie crossed her arms and squinted at him, another eye twitch mixing in, almost acting like a pouty child unhappy with her father's disciplinary measures. "And if the inmates riot because we were being too nice to them and letting them get away with whatever, that'll be your problem."

"I'm serious, Masterson. If we end up in a crisis because of you, I will have no qualms putting you in cuffs and a blue jumpsuit, and leaving you to rot like the rest. You're on thin ice. Tell me you're not going to..."

As he threw threats around that Valerie wanted nothing to do with, he couldn't react quick enough for the annoyed Valerie to reach over his face, placing a palm over his chilly forehead, then sliding it down across the entirety of his face. A tad slippery, but nothing she deemed suspicious. She felt his facial muscles loosen up and his words come to a halt after a few quick groans from her initial touch. Fed up with her boss, it was time to get him out of her face the hard way. She'd done this quite a few times before to get out of a tough spot, but had never used it to satisfy her sexual urges - after all, banging the boss was a tough phenomenon to explain...

"Little shit-Ed..." her grin stretched ear to ear as she stroked his cheek quickly, Edward's stare empty and focusing on Valerie without fault. "Leave my office without a single memory of what you came here to tell me, or anything about this conversation. Because we're all good. No need to fire me. In fact, the only thing you're going to remember once the spell wears off is that you were going to make an announcement for the inmates to obey and respect me. Got that?"

The Warden, entirely against his will, nodded very slightly.

"Good. Now leave my presence and don't come back here or bother me for the rest of the day."

"Of course..." he uttered, no control over his words or actions as he turned away towards the door and escorted himself out. He shut the door behind him, his footsteps slowly fading to Valerie's ears....

Hypnotizing the boss... I'm surprised he doesn't take precautions now after how many times he's forgotten the shit I do around here. Hah. Stupid.

At least the hypnotist got a kick out of that thrill-ride. Now with her privacy once again, she turned back to her desk, too satisfied to be bothered to kick the wall anymore. Perhaps the Warden made a point with the idea of a punching bag, or at least a stress ball. Sex was keeping her alive, but it couldn't be all she depends on when it's few and far to come by. But where to get it now...

Thoughts in mind... decisions to make. Then it hit her, almost as if a light bulb came on over her head. All that talk about the inmate she'd pummeled just earlier brought up the memory of the tooth she'd dislodged. She approached the back of her desk, reached for a pen and one of her sticky notes from the clutter of unfinished paperwork, and began to write a note...

WANT A CHANCE OF GETTING YOUR TOOTH BACK? MEET ME IN THE BROOM CLOSET BEFORE THE YARD AT 6PM.

If she wanted any chance at a quick fix under the roof of this prison... it was, indeed, Lany, and using her tooth as leverage. She'd later slip this into the inmate's cell on her bed so that she sees it before the evening. For once, she had some hope as she reached into her pants pocket to retrieve the tooth. She snickered, then let a single word echo in her head...

Jackpot.

[ Faust - Inmate | Height: 1'1" ]

Faust had taken the tray and held it up high with both hands. He felt like an ant which had just pilfered a freshly laid out picnic. Not only was this incredibly humiliating it was also extremely inefficient. His feeble arms were exhausting every ounce of their power to keep the object afloat, and his view of anything above him was abruptly cut. Any attempt to move from the precarious situation resulted in immediate destabilization, and loss of balance. This was a bother. Inmates were moving past him, and he was just standing there like an idiot. Although... there was a possibility that he could be missed for a tray laying on the ground. Not ideal, but a lot better than being recognized as an idiot standing around.

One... two... three...!

Being as aware of his surroundings as possible, Faust began to hobble his way towards the tables. He scanned his surroundings for the legs of those seated. The particular set he was looking for wasn't hard to distinguish from the crowds, and he located them within no time at all. Arachnid legs. He had given it some thought, and had arrived at a modest conclusion. This particular group had been in the spotlight for quite the number of incidents. Well... two, that he knew of: The earlier beat down with the amputee, and the little scuffle with the guard in the cafeteria. Faust had indeed seen it go down. He wasn't watching the group like a stalker or anything, except he was doing exactly that. They were his means of raising his reputation. It was only natural to keep an eye on them.

Unfortunately, the tray situation had limited his view of events past that point, and the merging of the two table groups, along with the presence of Alasdair and Boethius, were not something Faust had witnessed. The point was, the group had already been the center of attention twice. If they had any resemblance of a brain they would probably want to lay low, and let the heat cool off. In other words it was the most opportune time for Faust to act. If worse came to worse, he could pin any incident on them. They already had the status of troublemakers after all, and if they realized it then that would be all the better.

"Excusez-moi everybody," Faust interjected, positioning himself between the spider and the amputee, just a couple steps away from the table, "meet and greet is over! ...And do watch your step arachnid. Your weight alone could probably grind me into a paste."

This was his plan. Non-violent passive-aggressive remarks. He stood no chance in a physical exchange, but psychological warfare was free game. And since he lacked any dirt on the spider he'd just have to go with targeting their weight. That made some people self-conscious right? Not that he would know.

"Noone go and jump to any conclusions," Faust quickly added. "I'm an upstanding fellow inmate you see, and I didn't come to pick any fights. Quite the contrary!" He stifled a laugh. "Given this one's immense size. I thought I'd contribute my portion." He attempted to lift his tray of food up to the table with no luck. "It's not like they need it to grow anymore, as I doubt that's possible at this point, but one's stomach typical reflects one's size, so I assume it's quite large." The grin across Faust's face remained hidden under the tray of food. "I know it's just a measly speck in comparison, but it's not like the servers here can use up all the food on one person."

That had to about do it. He'd probably feel the consequences soon enough.

"But no seriously, one of you grab the tray please. My arms are going to fall off."

  • More are coming?! What the hell can't I be left alone?!!

The arachnid hybrid gritted her teeth as she kept herself from screaming out in a panic, patiently watching her table-mates to talk through their introductions. In all honesty, she was not open for joining any sort of group for fear of trouble.... but it looks like she was already apart of the problem team. Her heavy-cloth-covered hands help slowly feed herself, just waiting to hear someone reference her, the spider trying to plan something that wouldn’t sound stupid to say. While she had begun to spend her time this way and she begun to eat was around when the small fairy-like creature had gotten close and made themselves painfully known to her. With the comments about her size and weight, the spider woman shifted over, scooting away from the small creature but remaining silent as she ate slightly slower.

Jacob’s first impressions of Thesta were in a word: dismal. He could have sworn that the purpose of the facility was to rehabilitate and heal. However, from what he had seen from his rather brief glimpse of the facility as he was escorted to the Warden’s office was nothing sort of hellish. Jacob understood that these prisoners were some of the most dangerous people on the planet, but too much security only lead to a pretty cage. All the wonderful bell and whistles did wonders to keep people safe from the unruly animal, but unless that animal was trained and nurtured its deminor would stay the same. As Jacob knocked on the Warden’s door he knew that his work was going to be an uphill battle. When Jacob was allowed entry he did so and gave the Warden a firm handshake, “ Pleasure to meet ya Warden. If what I’ve seen from your prison is true of the Chapel I can’t wait to see how you’ve butchered the house of the Lord.”

|:| Valerie Masterson |:|

As Valerie put the pen down, now ready to deliver her message, she looked up to find the short female figure who wasn't there before, now watching her prepare to blackmail an inmate. Noticing it was none other than Pisha, the head of security narrowed her sights at the demon and tried not to react. Perhaps her non-fear of this entity came from her own demonic lineage, or simply her own experiences making her immune to things like jump scares. But it wasn't just a guard-to-inmate blackmail deal that Pisha was witness to, but also her own personal skeleton she'd let loose by excusing the Warden in a rather unorthodox way.

Shit...
Being the first time Valerie had done this since Pisha had been around lurking the prison, it's understandable how she'd gotten away with it for so long. Indeed, she could make people forget the memory of being hypnotized, as well as a bit before the hypnosis, but nothing further than that. The problem was that someone knew what she was up to, and nothing was stopping Pisha from materializing in the Warden's office and blowing her secret. And since Pisha couldn't... well, die, it's not like she could smother the demon and be done with this loose end.

"Huh," she scoffed as the short human form went on her monologue and seated herself as she pleased. She crossed her arms over her chest, looking around as the lights began to flicker till cutting out. Though she was the descendant of a demon, that didn't mean she could take a real one on in combat. But... why would Pisha smother Valerie like this? There was also the risk of another guard passing by and overhearing their conversation, which worried Valerie at first... but she'd have to take the chance. Not like she could just not say anything. "Seems like you have no reason not to tell the Warden that he's being hypnotized every so often. Then again, you have nothing to gain from it, either. You already have his unwavering approval no matter what. After all, he loves the idea of having you around."

Time to play on one of Pisha's own flaws: motivation. "So, tell me: what do you gain from telling the Warden any of this? I'm just going to hypnotize him again and make him forget what you told him. You could just repeat the process, and we could be here for years doing that until good ol' Shit-Ed retires. Sounds kinda tiring, don't you think?" Valerie grew a clever smile in the darkness of her office, hoping she could strike gold here on another big part of her personality: laziness "In which case, what exactly do you propose we do with this... little secret?"

Was Valerie 'power-hungry'? Most definitely. Maybe not to become Warden, but still power-hungry. More importantly, how much did Pisha know about her lineage or curse that others didn't? Enough to know how to stop it?

|:| Edward Brookes |:|

Shortly after leaving the hallway of offices into Valerie's, the spell that had been cast over the Warden wore off like a switch being flipped, now with no recollection of why he marched so furiously down to his head of security's office, or even the incident of an inmate being unfairly beaten in gen-pop. He scratched the back of his head, as if to feel some sort of void in his memory, trying to remember what he was going to do.... oh, right: the one thing on his mind in that moment was a message he was going to send on the intercom for inmates to promise to obey Valerie no matter what.

All according to plan for Valerie.

However, the logical part of Brookes' mind knew that making such an announcement now would fall upon deaf ears. If he were going to make such a statement, it'd have to be later at a more awake, more focused time. For now, with no other memory of his plans down this hallway, he continued on his way back to his office.

Upon arrival, he shut the door behind him and looked around his larger, more fancy living space, his safe spot in comparison to the rest of the prison. This location was said to be the most secure in the entire prison all for the Warden's safety in case of a riot. It was also rumored to be impenetrable, like a secure nuke bunker of sorts, but it had never been tested on something as destructive. It was enough for the Warden to feel comfortable, though. He glanced down at his chess board, a game set up from when he was playing against himself a week ago that he'd never returned to. As he stepped forward to entertain himself, he heard a few knocks on his office door. More company? This early? At least some of the remaining coffee he'd offered Doctor Gordon wouldn't go to waste.

Edward answered the door to welcome the new Chaplain into his office. With a smile and an equally firm handshake, hoping that the first reaction from the man of similar age wasn't how the sudden chill from the office's air conditioning was a bother, he gave his greetings: "Pleasure to meet you, Chaplain Stewart." The Warden had been recruiting a few new members of the prison, even if they didn't have powers, much like Stewart. A source of faith for these inmates would go a long way in ensuring 'rehabilitation', at least he'd hope it shows that way.

But it didn't seem like the Chaplain had much... hope, noticing the accusation of 'butchering' the house of the Lord. "Oh, no, I can assure you that the chapel is an entirely different story from the rest of the prison. It is rather lacking in security measures that the rest of the prison has in order to preserve the religious integrity, but I can assure you that some of the other features in the prison shouldn't be taken as a reference for how we treat religion. We did need to make some modifications in case of lockdown, like blast shields and auto-locking doors, but infrared lasers in the hall, for instance, had to be scrapped. Come, I'll show you the way there, and you can tell me yourself."

Catholic_chapel%2C_Fremantle_Prison.jpg

[OOC: the only difference in this picture that's in-RP is that, to the left next to the piano, there was a door that lead to private quarters for the Chaplain, which also contains a classic barrier designed for confession.]

Prison chapels usually weren't something fancy, and sometimes were just a multi-purpose room with a table brought in as an altar and a cross hung on the wall. Thesta, however, had a dedicated room for their chapel, one that could be entered from the yard during the appropriate times. While some aspects were bare-bones such as the benches, it was still more than most prisons offered. Not to mention the mural on the front wall behind the altar that the Warden specifically asked to be made.

The two gentlemen entered and walked down the middle aisle. "Here we are," Edward announced. "It sure isn't fancy, but we did put the extra effort into making this a little different, to give this a bit more of a 'house of the Lord' feel, as you put it. To the left will be your private quarters, where you can also hold confession for anyone who wishes to do so. The mural in the back was made by a friend of mine from when I served in the Thestian war. I must say, he did a pretty great job at it. I may not be an artist, or know too much in detail about the Bible, but I'd say that this is a step up from most other makeshift chapels, don't you think?"

Stewart’s hard face cracked a smile as he walked into the chapel. This was what he had been worried about. The feeling of the chapel. It didn’t matter to Stewart if this was a prison for the super powered. If the chapel was nothing more than an extension of the prison his work would likely fall on deaf ears. “ I can see that you are a man who truly wishes to help the men and women in your care.” Stewart approached the altar and bowed to the cross before entering the elevated area that held the altar. Stewart opened the simple container that was to serve as the tabernacle for the portion of the Host that the Chaplain kept on him in case of emergency. “I saw this place and though that my work would be stifled behind layers of security, but I’m happy to see appropriate consideration being taken.
Stewart carefully placed the host in the tabernacle and closed it. He would need to get a candle to show that Christ was finally present within his home here, but that could be done in a moment. Carefully descending the steps so as not to fall Stewart turned and bowed to the cross again before turning to Edward.
“ Now that I know you are a man who truly wishes to help I can no worries. However I’d like to talk with you about a prisoner of interest to the Vatican and the reason I’ve been sent here. If you have the time.”

  • The demon loudly groaned as she heard the woman contort her own words and making it back in her favor. Honestly in the week or so that Pisha had been here this red-haired woman had perplexed her, acting in impulsive ways that were amusing yet seemed a bit off. The continued to tap their boots against the ground as their chair leaned against the wall, listening patiently nonetheless to the reply.

“Honestly your reaction was so lackluster, it almost wasn’t worth it to appear.... ugh. What I get from this is obvious, entertainment. Plain and simple, I want this prison to entertain me and to watch you all squirm and struggle like those shows you all watch to keep yourselves pleased. I may not do much, but I would hate to be bored.” Their Ruby eyes softly glowed in the room, the lights from outside the door providing just enough radiance to not be overpoweringly dark.

“I have other things to take care of, but one more thing.” Pisha quickly sat up and shifted across the room in a quick movement of shadows, her crimson eyes staring up and into Valorie’s eyes across the desk that was between them. “I may not know what, but I can smell you. Your energy is different, and almost... unappetizing. I’m curious what will happen from here on and what will give you away to me~. Have a nice time with your new plaything~.”

The lights would flicker back on, the demon vanishing between the frames which a person could see as she disappeared.

Jacob’s expression soured at the interruption of his conversation. Even more so when it became clear the intent was to mock not only him but the Lord. A vein became more pronounced in the pastor’s forehead as he limps away from the warden and towards the girl that dared not enter the house of the Lord. He didn’t have any basis for it, but something felt off the closer he got to her. Stopping a few feet from the girl next to what would be a baptismal font. As it was it was merely a pool filled with unblessed water.
“ Since you seem to be so knowledgeable dear child, perhaps you can recount Ephesians 4:29? Nonetheless the house of the Lord is open to all who seek him. You’d be surprised how many prison conversions the church receives.”
Jacob commented as he searched through his travel pack for what little anointing oil he had been allowed to have on the plane ride over. Pouring a modest amount into a pool Jacob recited a blessing over the pool turning the water holy and the pool into a true baptismal font.
Jacob turned and limped closer to the girl overing his hand and after a moment to control his anger a smile. I would be more than happy to make you the first one here to be reborn in Christ. Free from those sins that seem to burden you so.”
Jacob’s voice was a strange twist of sarcastic and sincere. He hoped the girl would take the opportunity and free herself from the darkness, but something told him that she wouldn’t.

Valerie couldn't help but chuckle at how Pisha reacted to her behavior. She was a confusing woman, but also a rather suspicious one, and one in a higher-up position to make herself even more of a target. Sure, the head of security would have to think twice about doing something as bold as hypnotizing the Warden next time push came to shove, just because of the presence of an all-seeing demon on the premises. Every breath Valerie takes was pretty much under surveillance, but till now, it didn't seem like Pisha was making a direct threat, but rather a call for the prison to be like a TV reality show for the sole sake of amusement. Sounded a lot like Valerie's cruel tendencies. Was it her demon part that made them... similar? Could Pisha tell the similarities?

The demon's final words were ones of them hot on Valerie's case. Something wasn't right... smell. If you were an inmate, you'd go straight to the loony bin, bitch. That might've been her curse. Pisha couldn't point it out in specific, but the mere suspicion was unsettling for Valerie. She'd do the honors of directing some harsh words to get out to the blazing ruby eyes in her dark office, but they did the honors and left on their own. The lights were restored, and the demon was gone. Off to somewhere more entertaining, most probably.

Huh. If she wants entertainment, maybe I shouldn't waste my time on Stumpy and give her a run for her money. I mean, my ancestor fucked a demon, so why can't I? Then again, that ended terribly, and that's why I'm where I am now... whatever. Stumpy will do for now. She's feisty enough.

Valerie got over the brief thoughts of banging a void demon, pocketed the little note to be left in Lany's cell, and took off to place the note in its place before going to the cafeteria to supervise.

The Warden wasn't expecting Chaplain Stewart to be in awe at the prison chapel, but he was also trying to avoid a horrible first impression. For their budget, the chapel was the best they could pull off. It didn't look too shabby to Edward, a man who wasn't all that religious himself, and if it got a smile out of the new Chaplain and a slight response of approval, he'd take it. Though the Warden feared that not having the same church etiquette such as bowing before the altar while passing by, he at least thought things were off to a great start for implementing religious help in the prison. One more perk to show off to the masses.

"Of course," Edward went on, "The chapel will still maintain its own integrity in the case of a lockdown, and it will also be as safe as it can be at the same time without some unruly miscreant sabotaging it for you. If you would like to propose any more adaptations or additional features, feel free to pitch them directly to me, and I can see to it that they go through as soon as possible."

While a tour was one item on the agenda, it seemed Jacob came bearing other tidings about another inmate in their custody, one of interest to the Vatican. Edward knew immediately which of the new inmates this was. "Ah yes. Severinus Boethius. I'm aware of his record. I see he's made peace with his sins, but accident or not, his ability is a risk to the world. I'm just curious what the Vatican would want..."

Before the Warden could proceed, just as he thought the two were alone in the chapel, a familiar voice began screaming in what should be a peaceful place of God. His head tilted in the direction of the demon in human form screaming out quotes from the Bible and begging for forgiveness, all in a rather artificial manner to the Warden. Just what he feared: the demon and the priest in literally the same room. He was aware that Pisha disliked the idea of a place of worship in the prison, but there was nothing he could do for her except implore them to stay away. Clearly, that wouldn't be the case, and lashing out like this wouldn't be tolerated. He didn't want to make the Chaplain run away just by the thought of a demon helping out with security. Here's hoping Jacob didn't see the demon materialize out of nowhere. He didn't need to know this detail.

Pisha didn't look like an inmate considering her dress... A guard? Definitely. But a guard barging in like this was still extremely out of place. "I suppose... even guards have a chance to see the Lord in these circumstances," he uttered, trying not to make it sound like a grumble.

But given the Chaplain's actions, blessing the water in what would become the baptismal font... hopefully that would allow Pisha to retreat rather than embarrass him in the midst of what was starting out as a great first impression.

Go away, Pisha, god damn it. Taking the Lord's name in vein in a house of God... well done, Edward.

  • It hurt. The very ground in front of the demon hurt her, an ache in her body that only got worse the closer she was to the inside. Sure she could ignore it before... but a small pool of holy water was now formed and it became much more potent. No matter the lack of motivation she had before, the presence of this was a threat to her, like a loaded gun in reach of a prisoner is to a guard. What was worse for her is going inside to destroy such things would be dangerous, seeing as her body would reject where she was in horrible bruises and sores while making her human body solid just like the sun rays did to her disguise form.

    Annoying.... Annoying....

As the priest approached her she became slightly wary, and likely for the first time since Edward had seen her in the week and a half she had worked here, someone actually made her take a step back when confronted. Granted it was a small step, but obvious nonetheless as she grit her teeth to keep her smile and stare up for the two men.

“You.... speak of scriptures...” She seemed wary, wary of this limping man who barely stood a physical chance against most any inmate, and yet here was Pisha trying to keep an eye on his every movements. To say she spoke before she thought this interaction through was an understatement, and now it was costing her pride. Behind her lips her teeth turned razor sharp, their jaw shut tight as they were stared up at the man with their expression waning. She was so distracted she even dropped the witty banter of religious phrases, now knocked down a peg.

Damn you both.... damn you priest.... I’ll kill you I swear....

“I have more important things to do then account for what you view as evil. Stay in your outhouse of god and do your sermons. It is all your kind is good for, stirring up the masses and providing false hopes and reasons for atrocities.” She spoke while looking off to the side, her teeth out of view as she spoke defiantly but with little effect tone wise.... her fingers were bruising under her gloves and she could feel her knees bend slightly as her clothes seemed to lose their fine colors and luster. It was like watching a flower wilt, and hurt just as much. She eventually did look back up at the priest, only this time she was silent and just stared at him with her ever so slightly withering body.

All the aggression and pain she felt was now leaking out slightly as her body ached by just being a foot outside the chapel, her eyes starting to show more anger than she wanted to and likely more than Edward wanted her too as well.

I’M GOING TO KILL YOU FOR THIS DAMNIT. DAMNIT ALL.

Jacob nodded his head to girl as she left, “ Lord, grant this lost lamb your strength, and help her stand against the darkness within her heart. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
Jacob made the sign of the cross over the girl as she retreated away. It was both a blessing and a prayer for the girl. Jacob could only hope that the guard would come to him seek aid. It seemed whatever darkness ate at her soul was more than she could bare. He would give her time to come to him, but if he saw her again he would make it a point to talk with her, and try to help.

With the disturbance retreating Jacob gently closed the Chapel doors and limped his way back over to Edward.
Smiling through his agitation Jacob said,“I can see now that my work will have to begin with the guards. No matter, where we’re we... Ah yes Severinus.”
Jacob gestured for Edward to take a seat in a nearby pew before he himself limped over and rested his bum leg.
“Even If Severinus wasn’t Catholic the Vatican would have taken interest in him because of his ability. As it stands the church is divided on what to do about him and the Holy Father has yet to make a decision on the matter. Some say he should be Canonized as a saint, made into a cardinal and allow his ability to be used for the sake of Christ and the world. Then there are some who see him as a threat to the world and think it’s the church’s responsibility to make sure his ability is never used and that he spends his days in isolation either here or some far flung monastery.
Jacob leaned back in the pew and looked to the cross, “My orders from the Holy Father himself are to be the Chaplain here and tend to the spiritual needs of everyone here. Severinus is to be observed and helped towards the light same as everyone here. What I observe will determine the Holy Father’s decision more than likely.”

~Nix-Inmate~

"Of all the excuses we could've come up with, we chose the bizzare game of charades. I don't think we convinced her, but she appeared vexed, so a success all the same. Thanks for standing in for us... Nix? I believe it was Nix. I have a hard time remembering names, so you'll have to pardon me."

Sitting crossed legged in front of Lany, eyes suddenly sprang to the being next to her, giving a slight tilt of her head as she dared to keep up with his quick words. She watched Will with interest, curiosity peaked when he spontaneously summoned a bunch of knick-knacks, quickly putting them together to create….

Her eyes gleamed with surprise. Gaze moving to Will and back to the notepad. At its mention, the siren almost instinctually reached for her metallic mask, taking in a quick breath as he passed the pen and notepad to her.

Nix wouldn't waste time with her new form of communication. She quickly jotted down something, before holding the notepad for Will to see.

[ Thank you. ]

Why was a question she’d ask another time, for the most part, she was just thankful she didn’t worry about her charade skills being too bad.

It was by this time that Jasper had come to the table. Nix had been about to show him the notepad in utter excitement when something strange occurred with her cellmate. Sapphire eyes blinked between Lany and Jasper, and she scooted closer to the telepath out of precaution. Quietly watching them talk back and forth. She mildly hoped he could read her mind too, but it seemed not, and the siren gripped her notepad and pen to remind herself she still had other ways to talk.

But soon everybody began introducing themselves, and whilst Jasper did his intro, Nix quickly scribbled down on the notepad. Her letters rather stressed and stick like, clearly nothing pretty but readable nevertheless. She lifted it to show.

[ I’m Nix. A siren. Able to sonic scream and use a siren song to put people to sleep. I’m in here for a burglary. Screamed and killed a few people. ]

The siren gave a shrug of her shoulders. Though she was slightly worried about what they would think of her, her eyes slid more so to Jasper, developing a cautious expression before looking away again.

Course there was more to that story, with emotions that ran much deeper, which would be involved once she got out of prison. But thoughts of revenge ended when her curiosity was driven to an inmate that had approached their table.

Nix had to strain her neck to get a better look.

"Excusez-moi everybody," - "meet and greet is over! ...And do watch your step arachnid. Your weight alone could probably grind me into a paste."

"Noone go and jump to any conclusions," - "I'm an upstanding fellow inmate you see, and I didn't come to pick any fights. Quite the contrary!" - "Given this one's immense size. I thought I'd contribute my portion." - "It's not like they need it to grow anymore, as I doubt that's possible at this point, but one's stomach typical reflects one's size, so I assume it's quite large." - "I know it's just a measly speck in comparison, but it's not like the servers here can use up all the food on one person."

The siren bore down her gaze on the tray that hid the little person. Lightly glancing at the spider before returning to look more sceptically at Faust. She couldn’t fully interpret what he was playing at, his wordplay evidently causing confusion to the siren that preferred straightforward language. Though she somewhat had a feeling he was being a little rude.

Kala is nicely sized. Whats his problem.

If he doesn’t want his food I’ll eat it. Then I could probably eat him two…. if it wasn't for this mask...

Alasdair chuckled at Faust's antics. "Didn't anybody teach you to never insult a woman's weight?" He jested, his eyebrow raising slightly as a playful smirk spread across his face. "She might 'grind you into paste' just for that comment, buddy." He said, making air-quotes with his hands when he echoed Faust. He had noticed a few more people arrived, one of them already spouting bible verses. Alasdair's brow furrowed when he noticed that one of the others was trying to avoid him and attempting to hide that fact. There was quite a few oddballs at this table.
"Hey, preachy," He said, trying to get the bible-thumper's attention. "Maybe tone down the crosses-and-savior talk. This is prison, not church camp. I'm willing to bet 99% of the people here are going to go to Hell, if it even exists, and are likely past the point of no return in your god's eyes. If you seriously think anybody here can be redeemed" He almost spat out the word,"you should get your ass to psych because you're clearly delusional with a hint of hero complex."
His gaze slid over to Jasper. He studied him for a moment before frowning. "What's up with you? Did you kick my dog or something? I can tell when I'm being avoided."
He crossed his arms and leaned forward on the table. He had seen it enough before, and the telepath wasn't doing that great of a job hiding it. He knew people that wanted to get away from him and he had done plenty of avoiding himself, so he recognized the signs. He was trying not to look at him but also trying to not make it obvious. Something was fishy, and it wasn't the chick who lures sailors to their deaths.

After Jasper when it came to introductions, he would've expected the rest of the table to introduce themselves similarly, but it was a tad more lackluster than he'd anticipated. The giant spider girl seemed hesitant to say much, the shyest on on the table. Perhaps she was a bit... insecure about her differences between her and the rest of the normal humans on the table. It seemed obvious why she was here, though. Obvious enough given she stood at a whomping ten feet tall and literally had the abdomen of a spider. Menacing... but probably too scared of herself to do harm.

Nix came right after, which wouldn't really be too much of a surprise as Jasper already knew a bit about her. What he didn't piece together yet, however, was her crime. The mind reader assumed it was probably murder, fearing that she ate a man. Rather, it was her scream that put them down, along with a robbery to secure her fate in prison. One thing he did notice about the siren, however, was her tendency to look at him. Just a person's eyes could tell a long, interesting story. Though Jasper still couldn't read her mind, he could try reading something else. Her gaze kept flickering to him, perhaps because she was comfortable with him around? Communication would be a lot easier now with the paper and pen, so the game of charades was over for the time being.

It wouldn't hurt to try and send her a message as he snuck her a look while she wasn't expecting. Guess you were doing what you could to survive? There's gotta be more to your story than that, right? .... No, you can't hear this. Nothing, huh? Damn it. The drug's gotta wear off eventually.

But before his worst nightmare could get a chance to introduce himself came the rather tiny man from before trying to make his presence known, unable to even reach the seat on his own seeing he was about a foot tall. Speaking of wondering what Nix had done, Jasper was even more curious about what this creature did at such a size to end up here. Was he some evil genius that they caught in some laboratory with mind-based abilities like him? Or could he grow in size and become a rampaging giant in the blink of an eye? Whatever he was, he began making announcements as if he were king of the world, obviously getting everyone's attention to arch their necks over the table to actually see him. He began calling out Kala for her sheer size, being a tad rude in the process. The spider even scooted away from how nervous she might've been to accidentally step on him or something. Jasper just feared that someone like Valerie might beat her to the punch.

Um... okay, who are you, and what's your deal, bud?

Before Jasper could verbalize his several questions.... finally, Alasdair spoke up right by his side. The telepath continued to avoid direct eye contact as he boldly called out the fairy-like creature talking to them. Surprisingly, Jasper agreed with his comments about how impolite he was, marching along using strange wording and acting like he owned the table. He didn't expect some sort of agreement to come into place, flickering one quick glance at him, then let it fall back on Lany, trying to see what he could read off of her mind, if anything.

However, that attempt was drowned away by Alasdair's attempt to call out Severinus. Though Jasper wasn't exactly a practicing Catholic, he wasn't going to get up and start slamming God for everyone on the table. It made him question what this man's problem was, as if he'd woken up on the wrong side of the bed and only had negative things to say. Quite the grade-A asshole...

...Then Jasper's heart sank as soon as he became the subject of those words next. Was it that obvious that he was avoiding Alasdair? With so many people on the table to focus on, and him being rather quiet, on top of Lany being a priority given his newfound ability to bridge a new line of communication with her... was it still suspicious?

Fuck...

He quickly turned towards Alasdair, arching his eyebrows and clenching a fist on the table, bothered by the accusation. Oh boy, time to get out another cover-up story. Shouldn't be hard given how engaged he was with others on the table. "You haven't said a damn word on the table until now, buddy, and in case you missed it, I found a loophole in my powers, so I'm sorry if your attitude isn't the first thing I wanna pay attention to when you finally open your mouth," he scowled, a bit uncomfortable, but still giving him eye contact similarly to how he did when Alasdair was on trial in Filincia. "You can suspect anything you'd like, but you have no proof of it. So, instead of playing this guessing game, why don't you just introduce yourself like the rest of us have, hm?"

His story would at least confirm that this is the same Alasdair Linwood he'd put behind bars not long ago... The good news is that there was precious little to his story that'd make Alasdair put the pieces together without an upfront confession.

It seemed as if the new Chaplain had stricken the perfect nerve to repel Pisha for the time being. Edward noticed the demon's human form withering right before him like a flower in winter. On the downside, this could lead to this newcomer getting a glimpse of a live demon on the premises and possibly have him retreat. But on the upside... the chapel was quite really a disgusting place for a demon, so Jacob would be relatively safe around there. Simply blessing the baptismal font sure set the tone for how serious he'd be taking chapel maintenance, and would serve as a warning for demon-type inmates... and even guards.

And even after mocking verses from the Bible and referring to the chapel as an 'outhouse', Jacob still left Pisha a prayer of good hope, one that would fall upon deaf ears, but one that the Warden found noble as an action alone. Seemed as if they'd leave the demon to their own devices to recover in any manner possible without exposing their demon form for all to see. Well, at least Edward hoped so to avoid a panic. At least that nightmare was averted. Maybe just the presence of holy objects can keep the peace... without a demon ruining everything.

The Warden would later have a word with Sam about Pisha's behavior in regards to the chapel. Maybe the new guard could keep her 'pet' under control.

With the chapel doors shut, the two older men could return to the topic at hand: Boethius, one of the few inmates who was here for a total accident, but kept here for the protection of humanity - with an ability this dangerous, no matter how good the intentions, he needed to be institutionalized in an appropriate facility, which only Thesta could offer. But now, Thesta's protocol could come into conflict with the Vatican, at least it was what Brookes feared. But as it seems, the rest of the world is at a loss for words about Severinus. With an ability like that, it can function as both a blessing and a curse. He could perform some rather beautiful miracles with his ability, making him an asset to the Catholic church. But in the eyes of the law - a side the Warden would take above all else, he was a threat, and was in need of some control, even if it meant the most severe of such.

Edward nodded along, following the reasoning given by Jacob. He understood the reasoning behind the arrival of his man of God, for an eye from the Vatican on Boethius, as well as function as a beacon of hope for the other inmates and guards alike. It's not like there were any laws being broken under this reasoning, after all.

"I agree that Boethius' situation is... complicated. He could do a lot of good, but as we've also seen, he could also do a lot of damage. He didn't seem to mean to burn those people during his homily, I'm aware, but with unpredictable nature of how his ability functions with each passage in the Bible, this isn't a risk we can place in the real world with a clear conscience. I sure hope that your superiors understand that. In the eyes of the law, he has committed a crime, and though it wasn't premeditated or anything, he was still found guilty in a court of law, much like every other inmate here..."

The Warden wasn't edging on aggression in the slightest. He totally understood the ongoing conflict with the priest inmate, and the fight between the church and the state, including the potential in-fighting in the church. "While we do have officers of the law watching over him, I also find it appropriate that he has an ordinary man of the cloth doing so as well. Which is why you are more than welcome to perform your duties here and inquire whatever information you may out of Mister Boethius. Any sort of transfer or extradition, however, will have to be negotiated with Thestian authorities and the Vatican. Sure, we can observe his behavior and see which side of the spectrum he fits into. We can give a statement as such, too, but at the end of the day, it's more of a story of... well, my people will talk to your people. Not to sound like I'm playing hardball, but that's the reality. Your duties as Chaplain, however, will be fully supported by myself and the government. When it comes to Boethius... Well, I hope you can conduct a fair analysis of his behavior and motives to decide how the world will handle his gift."

Appearing to be neutral about the situation while allowing Stewart to look into things was Brookes' best bet for now. His opinions about law and order, no matter how hypocritical given his actions, were set in stone. If it were solely in his hands, Severinus would spend the rest of his life behind bars.

|:| Valerie Masterson |:|

The note for Lany was left behind on her bedsheets, the message facing upward, with a corner placed under the wrinkle of the sheets so that it doesn't blow away by some accident. The next time she comes to her cell, there's no way she can miss it, and surely, she'll be passing by her cell before the 6PM activities. Not to mention... Valerie didn't see the amputee as the sort that would go to the chapel and immerse herself in prayer, or to throw herself into a fight on day one with her prosthetic limbs. But she would certainly want her tooth back to avoid an indefinitely invincible head of security. She would probably do anything to stand a chance on their next stand-off, and that tooth was Valerie's free win pass.

Have fun, Stumpy... well, you're sure going to have fun later. I know I will.

She exited the cell with a wide grin across her face, looking back and forth at the now-vacant sector of gen-pop. It was open to her wicked, sabotaging methods in case she ever wanted to frame an inmate. Probably stick a few packs of drugs under pillows, or spilling some blood around to make it seem like an inmate was injured. Some small things here and there, sure, but ones to make some of the new inmates just a tad more miserable with unnecessary complications. Question was: who would she start off with? She sure had issues with two inmates so far: Lany and Will, who both got up in her face at least once. There was Jasper, who she'd teased earlier that day by nearly throwing him off the edge. His cellmate didn't seem too happy about it either. With a little free pass from the Warden, Valerie grinned and thought further about what form of 'fun' she could have...

In a little bit. One thing she had to take care of in her office was review the Warden's revisions to the inmate cell manifest. Some were moved, and she had to go about and inform them of the changes. She didn't to be held responsible for petty laziness for something so small. She might as well take the opportunity to get some dirty looks and win the displeasure of more inmates. Making enemies was a joy for her, as it only gave her more reason to inflict beatings like what she'd done to Lany.

Off to the cafeteria, and the first thing she noticed? A band of inmates, more than there should be per table, all... engaging in conversation? Even a few particularly notable ones there. What gives? Why were they all acting so civil all of a sudden? A group like this would never band together under normal circumstances. Not this big at least. Clusters of 3 to 4, she could come to expect from the fresh meat. But eight literally on the same table at peace without starting a food fight? Come on, what are the odds? This is begging for an intrusion. Hell, Altar Boy is there, so I should really get him up to speed with his moving plans to live with the witch for a nice long time... hehehe...

She took her eyes off of the big table and over to the slowly-ending lunch line. The wendigo Dyani was one of the moved inmates to move cells with the changes, moving in with the punk girl that Valerie insisted on calling 'emo'. She grinned and marched along, hoping to bump shoulders with a few of the incoming inmates along the way, with her hand around her utility belt as a precaution in case one feels like attacking. She couldn't hypnotize anyone under the one-hour cooldown from the Warden, so she had to depend on her physical capabilities for now. As she marched along, she managed to brush shoulders with Alice, the one who'd be affected by a new change to her cell. Out goes the vampire... in comes the wendigo.

But brushing shoulders, even though it was entirely the head of security's fault, did make room for a harsh interaction. "Hey, watch where you're going, emo girl. You could get yourself hurt with movements like that. And I'd hate to hurt a pretty face. Shocking, right?" She placed emphasis on the punchline, cackled at her joke, playing it like a pun towards Alice's ability to manipulate electricity, then spinning around and allowing the pink-haired girl to continue on her way.

As she approached Dyani, yet another worthy candidate of inmate insults was right before her eyes for the picking: the shapeshifter on kitchen duty who almost touched the lasers on the tour... As her laughter came to a close, Valerie whipped out her nightstick, gave Silver a rather nasty glare from outside of the kitchen window, and slammed her weapon of choice onto the railing to get her attention. "Ey, no slacking, laser bait. Unless you want yourself a fuck sandwich in solitary, you get your sorry ass out of the kitchen and get some food in you. We don't need some kid complaining all day at work, because you have a long day before you eat again. And no sneaking food in you when you're cleaning up or making lunch."

Valerie concluded this interaction with her index and middle fingers facing her eyes, then directed them back at Silver, in a sort of 'I'm watching you' way. She didn't hesitate further and continued on her way. The head of security figured that Silver may not have entirely understood her instructions, but she didn't care; she was ready to punish or harass regardless.

At last. As the wendigo seemed to walk along, Valerie caught her arm through the angle of the nightstick and dragged her to face one another. Rude, but it gave her some sort of satisfaction of superiority. Valerie felt a brief chill from being around Dyani, something similar to the Warden's AC in his office, so it wasn't all that big a bother. "Listen, you antlered.... thing. Moose, whatever. You're being reassigned. Turns out, Lollipop was supposed to get transferred to sector F after all. Whaddya know, I yelled at someone for no reason. I don't want trouble, but you move over to cell 2-15 when you go back to gen-pop, and make it snappy. We gotta move a new pair into that soon. You'll be sharing a cell with that emo chick there..." Valerie looked away for a moment, directing her gaze at Alice once again. "Don't cause any trouble with her, and maybe I'll think of a better way to call you than Moose. Got it?"

  • The giant spider woman simply kept to herself as everyone else talked, soon unable to really finish her food as her nerves and self-conscious mindset caught up to her and ruined her apetite. She grabbed her tray in her mitten-covered hands, her safety-cloth-wrapped legs ends trying to stand up... right until the ‘guard of the month’ stormed in and made her way across. The hybrid would bide her time, avoiding eye contact waiting until Valerie was out of her way. At least she was hoping she wouldn’t be noticed as she went to dispose of her half eaten rations and put her tray somewhere where she might be able to place it. Will's smile widened as he saw Nix gratefully take the notepad. Unlike what most people thought, he wholeheartedly enjoyed aiding others. It brought him no small amount of satisfaction. Thus when Nix raised up her notepad with the words"thank you", he merely chuckled: "Eh, always happy to help. I just wish I could do more"

His good-guy talk was cut short, how ever, as Nix's cellmate properly introduced himself. Will visibly winced when he mentioned his abilities as a telepath, with a low grunt escaping his lips at the additional mention of litteraly making someone's brain explode. Welp, if this one were to learn of his vulnerability, it would not end well for him. He would need to somehow ensure that Jasper were to remain inhibited.

Next up: Nix, a...Siren? With the ability to either hypnotise people-or ruin their eardrums. Will eyed her with interest, a hint of wariness creeping into his eyes as they met hers. After a couple of very charged seconds, his smile returned, his demeanor once more becoming aloof."An actual being of legend. huh... You know, I've always wondered what a siren's song would sound like."

Finnaly, a little green fellow appeared under Kala, insulting her and offering it's tray to the group. Will's demeanor changed drasticcaly, especialy when the fellow that was seated next to Jasper proved himself to be an asshat. He litteraly despised mean people. Adressing Alsadair first, he spoke in a low to be, his entire body tensing as if he was preparing to get violent:"Oh, looks like we have Mr. Cynic over here, come to be the buzzkill of this table. How original. Pfft. Fucks like you are all the same. Always whining, always Judging. If you want to continue being an asshat, then I'll give you five seconds to get the fuck out of my sight

He finished his threat with a wide grin, making sure Alsadair understood that the bullshit behavior he used to hide his insecurities would not fly here. Not yet done, he adressed Faust next:"And you, little elf: I can apreciate a good joke, but you clearly hurt her feelings. So, here's what 'll happen: I'm going to gratefully accept your portion, and you're going to apologise to her. After that, you may sit with us."

In a single, jerky motion, he hefted the tray and placed it in the middle of the table, so that everyone could reach it. He couldn't help but notice the weary glares of his companions, most of whom had just bore witness to his sudden outburst. He smiled apologetticaly:"Sorry. I just don't exactly have any tolerance for assholes. They get on my nerves."

"Speaking of asshats, looks like their queen just entered the cafeteria"
He couldn't help but glare at Valerie as she entered, his glare moving onto Sam as he scanned the cafeteria. God, how much he would like to butcher both of them, right then and there... But he was well aware that they would be able to call her before he had the chance to finish them. And then... he shuddered at the thought.

Silver Ferae
The albino girl had been watching the rest of the prisoners from behind the kitchen counter, unsure of what she was supposed to be doing. Other kitchen staff had left to go and eat... And that was part of the problem. She didn't recognise anything in the kitchen as 'food', except for some of the raw, bloody meat. And that wasn't on the menu. The guard who was supposed to be 'supervising' her was just leaning against the wall drinking something red and copper scented out of a plastic bag.

Silver envied her for that.
She jumped as if she had been shot when the red haired guard spoke to her, and she not-so-discreetly growled, baring razor sharp fangs at the redhead before picking up a plate and entering the main cafeteria. She didn't know anyone excpt Lany, and Lany's table was full...
But there was plenty of floor space for a slender Shifter to sit cross-legged on the floor behind her only friend and poke at her food with her fingers, as she hadn't bothered to get a knife or fork (she didn't even know what they were).
"Are we supposed to eat this? Oh, hi mister god-guy!" A frown, and a tilt of the head. "Hey, you know you're green, right?"

Dyani soon spotted Valerie walking up to her as she merely frown though she soon spotted the nightstick that looked like it was about to hit her but seemed to be aimed at the shapeshifter "Wait what was her name again...?" she said in her head as she then moves along but soon stopped by Valerie though she soon copied her voice as she was planning to use it later "O-oh. That's a shame." she said as Valerie soon said she will be moving into a cell as her attention goes to the "emo chick" that Valerie is talking about "O-okay." she said as her attention goes to Valerie's chest but then she soon looked into her cloak to see her chest which was bigger.

Boethius’ smile faded when he was basically called retarded for believing that people can be saved. There was really no need to attack him or his beliefs like this unless something unfortunate happened to him. What surprised Boethius, pleasantly I will add, was that this man was literally the only one who had a problem with Boethius’ beliefs. Jasper, a man he had a new found appreciation for, even began confronting the man as did Will. At this point there wasn’t much Boethius even wanted to add on with the man. “ I’m sure you must have a reason for your hatred of my beliefs, but just as I don’t make comments on my beliefs unless asked I would appreciate it if you gave us the same courtesy. “
Boethius’ smile returned when he noticed Silver greeting him and he gave her a wave, “Hello Silver.”

Jacob nodded in agreement with Edward as they discussed Severinus, “ As it stands such decisions about the prisoners are above both of our pay grades so to speak. I’m sure negotiations between the Vatican and Thesta will begin within the last few months of Severinus’ sentence. Until then I can only pray to be of some help to the lost souls here. “
Jacob leaned against a pew to rest his bad leg. He took a moment to replay the incident that had just interrupted them. There was something off about that girl. She seemed too repulsed by the Chapel... The Vatican Traditionally believes in demons and the rite of exorcism therein, but Jacob had never believed in it personally until this strange occurrence.
“Edward could you tell me that girl’s name? I’d like to add her to my prayers. It seems to me that a very real darkness hangs over her.”

[ Faust - Inmate | Height: 1'1" ]

Faust's comments had an immediate effect. The spider had backed off. It had been far easier than he had expected, something wasn't right. He couldn't tell if he had truly gotten under her skin or if she was ignoring him. Neither option was very ideal. The idea was to show he wasn't roadkill to be run over. Even if it resulted in a trip to the medical ward it would establish he was willing to fight... or something like that. He was pretty sure he had read something like that at one point. Actually, now that he thought about it, it didn't make as much sense unless he actually fought back. The people here had been civil enough, despite what one might expect. He never would've thought his words might actually land a decisive blow. It was meant to agitate, not to harm. Even so, he had to hold his ground, or turn this around somehow.

Before he had the opportunity to though, none other than Alasdair had spoken up.

Faust hadn't even seen them. He still couldn't see them, but they was at this very table, apparently. Faust turned pale, only it was more of a different shade of green. These people weren't Alasdair's friends right? They had said they didn't know anyone right? But time does fly by... he could've made some. That didn't seem to be the case, although their words were those of reprimand, they were light and carefree. A muffled nervous chuckle escaped Faust, but Alasdair's dialogue didn't end there. They had moved their attention to some of the other members of the table, and what they had to say was a little less than friendly—which given the circumstances was a relief.

One of the targets even snapped back.

Things at this table were beginning to get uncomfortably tense. If there was a time for Faust to take his leave it would be now while the attention was off him, but the opportunity had escaped him. There were a number of people at the table that Faust had no idea about, but there was one which he had forgotten: the smiling one. Their voice was as spine chilling as their smile. It wasn't the sound itself, but the intention behind it. They were focused on Alasdair, and making a very apparent threat.

"5 seconds isn't a lot of time and the area is open enough to..." His voiced trailed off when the assailant turned to him. Had they not taken the tray, Faust would've dropped it. His arms had turned to jelly.

"I'm not actually an elf by the way. I know it's the ears, but elves tend to be much taller and not green," He babbled. "Not that I've met one."

This was bad. If there was a way to show the clear difference of pressure compared to the spider, this would be the way. The air around his guy was screaming "I will actually twist you into a grotesque off brand sweet, and feed you to the dogs of hell." It might not have been that word for word, since Faust didn't speak murderous intent fluently, but he got the gist. The question now was: did he listen to every piece of his body and scurry off, or stand his ground? Neither. Faust's legs were beginning to give. He would end up collapsing at this rate, and although apologizing was an extremely appealing option Alasdair was present. It simply wasn't a choice with him around.

Faust took a step back, nearly running into Silver, "Excuse me, sorry."

He turned to "Mr. Smiles", said something under his breath, coughed into his hand, and repeated himself, "The spider can speak for themselves no? To protect them as if they were a child would be demeaning, I would think." He smiled nervously. "But by all means take the food. It was my original intent after all."

Alasdair raised an eyebrow. "It's cute that you think I'm that dumb. Call me crazy or paranoid but it seems you know me, or at least know of me already. I'm not that intimidating of a person and you have some reason to avoid me. You can try to deny it now, but I'm sure my suspicions will only be confirmed. I could be wrong, but that doesn't seem likely."
He turns towards Will when he suddenly pipes up. He tilts his head to the side. "Oh? Let's see how you like being stuffed into a box upon first impressions then." He gave him a quick look over to get his point across."Let me guess, you're a self-righteous twat who thinks he should stand up for the 'little guy' even though the little guy often doesn't need your bullshit help and can handle their own problems. I assume this stems from some sort of traumatic past, childhood bullying maybe? Abusive parents? I hate to break it to you but nobody needs you. You wanna make me get out of your face? How about I get this collar off and snap both your legs like twigs with a thought?" He growled the last part and narrowed his eyes.
Of course, breaking bones wasn't that easy, even with his powers, but what's the harm with a little hyperbolizing? Worst case scenario, this I'm uncultured attacks him and they both get sent to the SHU. He could live with a little solitary if it means screwing this douche over.

Alice scowled at Valerie who did that bitch think she was. Though she envied her hair Alice hated everything about the chick. Alice could think of one thing Valerie needed and that was a good frying. Every muscle in her body tightened in an attempt the fire electricity. However her drugs were much too strong and her vision went blurry. She forced herself to remain clam when Valerie continued her rounds of bitching at inmates. Alice glanced at her new roomie but she couldn't get a very good look. the drugs were still acting up.

Alice walked a few steps towards to group at the table. In an attempt to get someone to help her. A muffled whimper escaped her lips as her vision tunneled and she collapsed to the ground. All she could see was darkness though she could hear everyone around her.

Will gave an audible chuckle at Faust's response. The little thing had spirit, he had to admit. he relaxed slightly, resting back in his chair:"At least you've got a brain. Which would seem weird, as your body shouldn't be able to handle the extra weight...but Hell, what do I know. Fine, don't go to her, she probably won't appreciate your company anyway-or anyone's for that matter. You may go-unless you wish to sit with us, or something".

Sadly for everyone else who was just trying to have a peaceful meal, the man who was sitting next to Jasper decided that self preservation was less important than making another snarky remark. Will paused upon hearing the man's words, merely staring him dead in the eye. Despite the lack of facial expressions, one could feel Will's brazen behavior vanish with each word. There was plausible tension buidling up, all too evident upon anyone who was standing nearby. By the time Alsadair had finished, one could almost literally taste hatred, pure and unbridled, stemming from the Inventor. He remained there, unmoving, for a couple of extra seconds. Then, he began laughing. His laughter began as a small chuckle, then grew to a thunderous roar, as if Alsadair had just told him one of the greatest jokes he had ever heard.

Several seconds passed until the laughter finnaly was reduced to out-of-breath chuckling. Will, having finally regained air in his lungs, spoke to Alsadair, an unbearably wide smile on his lips.
"My, my, aren't you a bright lil psychiatrist! Saw...Saw right through me, uncovered motives and-and everything!" Another pause as laughter once more took hold of him. This time, he stood up before he continued. He had begun to slowly make his way towards the man.
"Yes, it was as you say. Bullying, Parental abuse, I had it all. right on point on that one. However...However you made one very crucial mistake, little man. See, I'm not about helping "little guys"-I mean, I am, but not how you understand it. No, I am about sending a message."

He was now positioned right behind Alsadair. He grabbed the man form the scruff of his neck, demonstrating surprising strength, even for someone his size. He moved his face so that he was looking him straight in the eyes.
"Would you perhaps like to know what the message is? It's very simple-straight to the point. No bizzare complications. No hiding behind "law", "morality", or "self-justification". No, it's something far simpler, Alsadair Linwood.

He stopped for a second, his grin having reached the maximum possible width.
"It reads: YOUR TIME HAS COME"

With a jerky, sudden motion, Will thrust his head forwards, headbutting Alsadair straight in the nose. Laughing wildy, he grabbed the man's head with both hands and slammed it against the metal table a couple of times. Alsadair's nose made a disgusting, wet nose as it began bleeding profusely. Letting forth a howl, more akin to a rabid dog than a human being, he tossed the man onto the cold floor. He would attempt to pin him there, all the while pounding on him-using his superior mass and pain tolerance to his advantage.

COME ON THEN, LITTLE MAN! SAY SOMETHING CLEVER-BREAK OUT OF YOUR COLLAR AND SNAP BOTH MY LEGS LIKE TWIGS.DO ANYTHING-STOP ME FROM KILLING YOU![/I].

Will stopped hitting and instead grabbed his jaw with both hands-left keeping the top part in place, whilst the right pulled down. If somebody didn't do something fast, Alsadair would get de-jawed
"No? Fucking thought so, Swine! Words, words, WORDS! THAT'S ALL YOU FUCKING ARE! THAT'S WHAT ALL OF YOU FUCKING MAGGOTS ARE!

Alasdair gave a small growl in the back of his throat as the other man held his jaw. It was now becoming painful, but his eyes stayed defiant. If his mouth wasn't being held in place, he would spit in Will's face. His legs thrashed as he attempted to kick Will. He grunted and tried to bite down on Will's fingers but the other man's strength prevented it. If Alasdair didn't have that collar on he would break all the bones in Will's hands, but unfortunately, one of them was inhibited and the other clearly was not. He felt a smile begin to touch his lips, although it was hard to smile in the position he was in. The bastard was likely going to solitary and Alasdair reveled in that small victory.
