Howdy, howdy! I'm Red, back with an interest that requires a completely separate thread from my master one. For your convenience, you can find all the info about me and my rules at the bottom of this ad. Read on!
I'll keep things short and simple this time - I'm looking for a novella writer who's interested in an apocalyptic scenario inspired by the likes of 28 Days Later, The Last of Us, World War Z, etc. I'd like the "doomsday event" to be based off of some sort of highly contagious pandemic, whether it be fungal, viral, or even radioactive in nature. The threats don't have to be simple zombies, either (although I'm perfectly fine with them), and could be based off creatures similar to I Am Legend or more like TLoU's fungal mutants. Whatever floats your boat, man. My main interest is in the raw, primal survival and the natural conflict that arises, although with some focus on outbreak origins and cures or whatever. I mean. Come on. It's practically sacrilege to do an apocalypse RP without those.
I'm an experienced GM and am willing to lead the story for the most part because I know how hard apocalypse settings can be to make original, but I still want to plot and build up our lore together! The more OOC communication we have, the better. I'm all for digging my heels in deep with world-building, so if you like that, I'm your gal. I've read a shit ton of "zombie" books and have seen many, many movies of them, so I'm well versed on almost every corner of that genre.
The basic idea:
I don't have a set idea in place, but the general gist of things involves my cold, hardened veteran Katya from Russia and her bizarrely out of place companion Marie: a test subject from the military bunker they escaped from. With a million and one odds against them, Katya somehow has to escort the bubbly, and very naive kid to one of the last remaining strongholds - which just so happens to be across the entire country, past countless dangers and threats. It also doesn't help most people are interested in either killing them or taking them hostage for the potential profits. Shit isn't looking so good.
Your character can come in from literally any background whatsoever. Military, citizen, insurgent, pizza delivery guy, experienced penguin caretaker, it doesn't matter to me. If you can think of them, I can find a way to fit them in with the crew. And feel free to play multiple characters - I definitely will be! Even if you want your character to be enemies with mine, that's okay too. Don't sweat it.

- x I am a novella writer who rarely goes below 1000 words, and often times far more. I describe my style as a bastard child between Tolkien and Lovecraft, with bad humor and ~fun~ introspection thrown in there. If you don't like long winded posts, or you aren't a big fan of character development through writing, we may not be compatible!
