In a medieval world split into two kingdoms Aria and Falkell, one on each of the continents. Each ruled by one king, kept together in peace by a treaty that has been upheld for hundreds of years. Both kingdoms were peaceful.
Sea travel was never safe, as there are pirates, monsters and predators that lurk out in the week long travel across the waters to one of the two lands. Even with the dangers, many people still braved it across the ocean, most never leaving without a strong mage on the boat to help sway creatures and winds. Most call them boat mages.
However soon these black shadowy creatures started to appear, not even the boat mages could deter them. Ships started to disappeared in alarming numbers and the oceans became an almost impossible place to cross. That was when all contact was lost with Falkell.... and no longer did ships cross the waters. Most went out a bit from land to catch fish and game, but never far.
One year later these black creatures in many shapes, from the thought to be extinct dragons to large birds of prey, started to appear on the shores. Attacking ships and towns without any sign of intelligence, just reckless thrashing to destroy and kill.
People began to panic, as they seemed almost impossible to kill. Weapons just slipped through its skin like fate, but it did not cry in pain or falter. Even if people manage to kill one, they still have no idea how they did it. When the creatures die, they just dissipate like smoke. Rumors soon spread and they were named 'The Dusk'.
Many who were not brave enough near the sea, moved closer inland, opening up more jobs and crime. The panic was wide spread and the king's people were spiraling into chaos. The end for all was near....
With that the king put out an open invitation
"There will be no end!
Aria will stand strong against these Dusk. We will fight back.
I call fourth any strong warriors and mages who wish to venture to Falkell and find out what happened and if you can, where these Dusk as coming from.
This quest will be deadly, but all those who return successful will be given riches to last them a life time and a home within the castle itself. All who return will be thanked and knighted, also earning a spot on the council in the kingdom. Those with criminal background will also get a royal pardon.
Come all, to fight for Aria! For her glory and her people!"
Now it is time to step forward and defend Aria, solve the mystery of the dusk and put to rest the unease of the people. No mater the reason you choose, you are destine for greatness.
