therapy's in session
“So, who is going to go first?” Those were the words that these eight individuals heard every week when they attended their group therapy session. They’d sit in the same room, all in a circle, staring at the unlucky person who had to be the first one to speak. It seemed to be mind-numbingly boring at first, but eventually, they seemed to open up. Relationships formed in one way or another and they were able to connect through their issues, their insecurities, their vulnerabilities. It was reassuring to know that there were other people who felt the same as they did. But one thing led to another and everyone began to leave the therapy sessions once they felt confident enough to get through life without them. It’s hard to have friendships with people you don’t see very often, so it wasn’t difficult for them to fall out of contact. After all, they were all pretty young and it seemed like they wanted to move on from that.

But one of the group members ended up going back to therapy, coincidentally getting the same therapist as before. When they started talking about how their life was going downhill again and they felt alone, the therapist suggested something that really stuck with them. “Why don’t you try and get in touch with your friends from the group sessions? That might be a safe place for you to turn to, emotionally speaking.” It seemed like a no-brainer idea, but it was certainly one that they never thought of. So after that session, they decided to contact everyone they had befriended from the group and tried to meet up a set amount of time so that they could meet up again. Only who would’ve thought that there was a lot more going on beneath the surface than meets the eye.

The thing everyone found out after meeting up is that they weren’t all that honest in therapy. Sometimes there are things that you keep to yourself, no matter how painful they can be. So how will this group reconnect with each other, heal, and find strength in the relationships they formed?

● This is NOT first come first serve, you must apply for a role and I will accept your character if it's the best suited for the roleplay
● I will be selecting a total of four male and four female characters
● REALISTIC FACE CLAIMS REQUIRED
● If this gets a lot of interest, I will consider adding additional spots
● There is a minimum of two paragraphs per in-character post
● This is going to deal with some heavier topics but remember to keep it PG-13
● Romance is not required but always encouraged
● Keep the drama realistic
● Any OOC drama will not be tolerated, so make sure to tell me if there's an issue
● I will be creating a discord for those who have been accepted
● Follow all of RPN's rules
● If not all of the roles are filled, feel free to make a second character (with my permission)
● You MUST be active at least twice a week for this roleplay to not die, so please don't join if you can't meet that requirement
You made it through the plot! Congrats! In case the plot was a little vague, let me give you a summary of what it’s about. We will play eight individuals who joined group therapy due to whatever reason you decide. In this group therapy, they befriended each other, finding it easier to share personal things about themselves with people they trusted also being there. They were all really close for the whole time they went to therapy, but slowly they began to stop going to therapy and went their separate ways. It’s been like three years since they all stopped going and fell out of contact with each other. One of the characters ended up going back to therapy because of [reason here] and the therapist suggested that they reached out to their friends and sort of got back into that safety zone they had all those years ago. So they reach out to everyone in the group and they all decide to meet up and sort of catch up after not talking for a long time.
