In the (not so) distant future of our world, humanity has discovered how to travel to other galaxies. Through treaties, agreements, and lots of politics, Humanity became one of the most prosperous races in the universe. We were pioneers, charting the unknown, traders forging new bonds, scholars teaching others our technology, and we learned much in return.
One of such things, was the advancement of AI, and knowledge on robotics until then far beyond mankind's comprehension. But sooner rather than later technology caught up with humanity and passed it not much later. Although things went alright for a while, it was bound to go wrong eventually.
This is the future mankind lives in now. After a great war causing many casualties, the far developed AI won and started their enslavement of mankind. Most humans have been brainwashed, put under the control of the HAAI just like how mankind once used robots. Humans who resist are mercilessly slaughtered, or tortured until they give in. But some humans, those brave enough to take a stand, live in the shadows and ruins of their now lost and forgotten civilization. They will fight, and they will do all they can to bring back the world that now is lost.
