Yyradel was a paradise for those that lived in it, nature was untrampled by the March of progress. For thousands of years this world had know uninterrupted peace where Humans lived in peace with the other races of the continent while monsters kept to themselves across their natural habitats. However that changed when a strange mist appeared throughout the land every 30 or so years, and with the rise of this mist brought with it the souls of recently deceased individuals that had passed on from other worlds. These souls were given a second chance at life through reincarnation, placed in the bodies of infants that would have died upon birth. These reincarnations retained their memories of their past and adapted to this world quite easily, making new lives despite their memories of the past. The peace in this world remained Until one day a young man, who was quite friendly and compassionate in his previous life got reincarnated into royalty, his parents were loving and kind, but for some unknown reason he changed and grew to be the most brutal and cunning warrior in the 5 kingdoms, the boy was named Heskorath, and would eventually be known as the harbinger of death. On the day of his coronation to be recognized as the prince, he murdered his parents and assumed the throne of his kingdom. Afterwards he sought out the best mages and his fellow reincarnations to add to his power. The mages were tasked with making the young king invincible by helping locate the other reincarnations and help him convince them to join him. However none of the mages wanted to help until he threatened their families, even then they still did not help, and were ultimately killed by the one mage that chose to help him. This mage granted his request and through the use of the most ancient and chaotic magic gave him eternal life. Unfortunately what the mage didn’t expect would be the young king would not keep his word, he ordered the execution of the mages family as well as the mage themselves. The mage, despite all the power they possessed could not save their family from the king and thus fled the kingdom to try and right their wrong, only to be relentlessly pursued by the kings imperial soldiers. The mage realized that there was no hiding from the king and chose to flee to the mountains of the northern desert after faking their death. Afterwards the mists that brought new souls to this world, leaving the king to freely conquer the continent, controlling all but the great northern desert.
His control lasted for hundreds of years before the king himself disappeared, leaving his dukes to run the empire in his stead, and through them the kings rule diminished, returning to the time of the 5 kingdoms. The great empire of Gondor remained in control of most of the western territories with the Kings son and duke keeping the place under strict military rule. The Forest of Fangorn bordered the east kingdom of Lokrem which became a thriving mercantile kingdom, and a place favored by explorers. The kingdom of the great desert of the north, home to a few scattered settlements that have managed to tame the desert sands, was simply known as Erebus, the land of the dead as most that have tried to cross the desert never returned. The south contained the kingdoms of Ranuu and Telnak two kingdoms that share a close relation as one provided precious stones and metals, and the other provided agriculture and teaching.
After 300 years the mists once again returned, bringing one last wave of reincarnations to either save this world… or raze it…
