Veronica opened her backpack, taking out a bag and grabbing the flares that were inside. Closing her backpack, she handed them to Shi. "Here you go! Took me a while to make them but they should be okay." She looks at Myremon and nods her head. "I'm ready." Ash was looking pretty happy, sitting on and old table, legs moving back and forth, looking at the things she watched Lily make. "Yeah, I'm ready too!"

Shi

Shi looked down at the things Veronica handed her. They looked weird. She was once more clueless. They kept on mentioning things she didn't know about or understand. It was all so confusing.
"What are?"
She held the things out to Veronica so she'd know what she was asking about. She liked to be as thorough as possible when talking with someone. They often never understood her.

Veronica looked back to answer Shi but Ash interrupted her. "Ooh! I think those are those flair things! Myremahn told me it's like fire works and that it super bright and signals people!" She went up to Shi and looked at the flares. "Well, kind of. People use flares to signal other people, normally by shooting them up into the air. They're very bright so they're easy to see."

Shi

Shi looked down at Ash when she spoke. Fireworks? She knew what fire was, but fireworks? She was clueless. But then Veronica explained. A signal! Point in air and fire! Easy!
"Why Shi need?"

RizaTiz RizaTiz

"It's so you 3-" Veronica pointed to Shi, Lily and Nazzek "-can signal us." She pointed to the green one. "You use this one if Aiala stays inside. If she goes to the front-" She points to the red one "-you use this one, okay?"

Shi

Shi nodded softly. Green inside. Red outside. Easy! She nodded more confidently, a broad smile across her face. Her tails flicked happily.

Owca - 9th Day
"It's like an explosion, of smelly magic!" Lily chuckled, not even looking back at the small half-demon, too involved in her own work, clawing different reagents into her palms to throw into the still. Each time she found a new mix she would hand it to the girl to take a whiff. After a while the foxling wasn't even sure she was still there, not wanting to look back. Of course, Lily hadn't created it from nothing, she had... Dabbled, in such things before. After all, what better way to keep nosy vagrants out?

"Ahh!" Lily exclaimed with excitement, holding a vial that held a dark green liquid. With only a small flick of her wrist, the inside bubbled brown furiously, the glass outside growing hotter at a surprising rate. "AHH!" A giggling sound of slight agony erupted, the vial dropping from her hand, unleashing a visible fume within the alchemist's shop.

Lily approached the others, cautiously, a strange change of movement for the halfling, a box of four large vials in her arms. "Don't rush a lady!" She yelped out as Veronica pointed toward her, missing the girl's words. "What on Yrin is that!?" Voices began to ring out from the town, citizens within holding their noses, erupting in coughing fits as they attempted to escape whatever had entered their town, blaming all things from the demons, decomposing animals. Lily simply cocked her head with a grin at her comrades, a stray eyeball reaching to see her work. "This stuff is... Very reactive, whoever chucks it in is ganna need to be super duper careful!" She slightly chuckled, looking down toward the box she held tightly within her arms, loose vials within beginning to bubble even from the slight movement, causing the foxling to hold her breath in response. "Ooh!" Lily stared over toward Myremon's ritual circle in awe, seemingly forgetting about the volatile substance she held.

Myremon Seonag
"Perfect. Let's move out." The day was barely up, the dawn providing little light, and uncomfortable cold. Not to Myremon, though, the wizard reveled in the cold. He motioned the groups to split, and swiftly reached the back entrance of the hideout. Two demons were there, one half awake, while the other slept soundly. An Ice Spike ended the life of the first one, and Myremon left the second one for either Ash or Veronica to deal. He stood in the entrance, the Fire Wall spell ready. "Whenever you want, Vero."
Nazzek Minara
The merfolk nodded when Myremon called for action, readying his swords and running alongside Lily and Shi. They positioned themselves on the place Myremon signaled, but when they arrived, only a small hill stood. "Illusions are a piece o' work, eh? I can't tell where the entrance of the place actually is... Anyway, get ready, y'all!" The merfolk gripped the swords tighter, the blade emitting a faint sea and brine smell.

Veronica's hair swiftly transformed into snakes. She dashed silently towards the demons and wrapped the sleeping demon in snakes, making sure to wrap them around their mouth to prevent any noise from being made as she quickly ended their life by plunging her sword into their heart. Her snakes unraveled around them and turned back into normal hair.
Ash followed behind her. She nodded at Myremon and grabbed the vial. She threw it in as fast as she could, Myremon closing the exit soon after with the Fire Wall spell.

The vial shattered on the ground, alerting a lot of the guards, but the gas began to spread rapidly. Coughs began to erupt from inside and many began to run. Some went towards the exit where Shi, Lily and Nazzek were while others ran towards the exit covered by the fire wall, panicking as they realized they couldn't exit, and running the opposite direction in hopes of escaping the gas quickly.

Shi

Shi held onto the flares and followed Nazzek and Lily. She looked around, trying to figure out what was happening.
"What happening?"
She looked up at Nazzek with confused eyes. The plan had confused her so much and then she didn't know enough words to ask Myremon about it. All she knew was the flares. Green inside. Red outside.

Owca - 9th Day
"Fun!" Lily responded with a giggle, looking up at Shi, before sprinting off toward the hideout's entrance without a care, her footfalls growing lighter as she reached the opening. Lily wasted no time, disappearing from the sight of the others as she entered the cavern. The foxling was used to moving silently, and luckily for her, the demon grunts clearly were not. As soon as she heard the hoard coming, she slipped her body into one of the tight crevices of the cave wall, holding her laughter as leagues of demons passed by, clearly disgruntled from the horrible stench that travelled with them from the core of the base. While Lily was resistant to the smell after years of experimentation, even she could not deny its potency, wrapping a piece of fabric around the lower half of her face to act as a makeshift filter.

Nazzek Minara
"Demons are coming, Shi! Be ready to heal us if something happens, but if you can, it'd be a nice idea to go dragon mode! Here they come! Hahaha!" Nazzek flashed a toothy grin before leaping into action. The demons, unaware of the threat awaiting for them on the outside, were caught offguard by the hulking merfolk. At least 5 or so were downed before the confused demons could take action, drawing their blades and cudgels, striking back at their assailant. The smell of brine and blood, mixing with the foul smell coming from the inside of the cave made the battle all the more chaotic.
On the inside, things were just as bad. The few demons who stayed on the deeper ends of the caverns started to trickle down towards the exit, too distraught to see any intruder. Lily kept going, taking the most beaten paths until she reached a larger, better illuminated area. The smell of death was present, but right now, it was masked by the smell of the bomb. A cacophony of cries, coughs and screams were heard from the cages scattered on the areas, people pleading for escape, while others barely having any strength to speak. Luckily, the guards assigned to the holding cells all fled along with the rest of the horde.

Ash and Veronica watched as some of the demons came running towards the firewall, yelling in frustration, and going back, hoping to find another exit. Ash seemed to be enjoying this, a malicious smile on her face, her eyes sparkling with a deep blue color but not completely. Veronica overheard the battle on the other side and began to hear less and less noise from their side. She turned to Ash and Myremon "It seems it worked. Let's head in."

Shi

Shi looked up at Nazzek and nodded. She didn't want to shift because she'd lose the flares. She chirped worriedly, knowing what she could do but should she do it? She looked around, trying to figure out if she should. She decided and ran up to one of the demons. She stayed behind it and placed her hand on it head, falling into its consciousness like she had when she healed people, but she had no intent to heal the demon. She didn't like what she was about to do, but it would really help them. She rearranged the thoughts and ideals she found until the demon would fight for them. When she was satisfied with her work she left and the demon started killing the other demons. She still didn't like it, but it was a demon and not a human or friend. They were not innocent.

Owca - 9th Day
Footfalls almost inaudible, Lily pushed further into the cavernous depths of the demon hideout, the stench of the creatures still noticeable through her own concoction that egregiously filled each molecule of air. With each demon that passed, the urge to test one of her more 'experimental' tonics rose, yet the foxkin restrained herself, after all there was plenty of time for that after she checked on the foolish humans that got themselves stuck down here.

"Oooh, guess Myree was right!" Lily whispered to herself in amusement, watching the coughing, spurting, half-conscious captives as they gasped for proper air. As she approached the cages, a few startled sounds escaped the captives, though most hadn't the strength to notice her, as the girl placed a finger to her mouth, silencing the few that did. Pulling a pin from her bag, Lily placed them to the rusted shackles of the cages, before rolling her eyes at the boring idea. Placing the pin back where it had come from, the half-human instead pulled out a vial of strong acid with a hidden grin, popping the cork as she held it above the locks, irides darting around each entrance of the room.

The iron locks sizzled and melted, emitting a barely noticeable smoke amidst the chaos. The children whimpered, and the adults tried to shield them from the outside. When the cage opened, the people looked anxiously towards the entrance, but after a little while, no movement was heard or seen by anyone in the makeshift prison, the only sounds were from the battle outside. The adults rounded the children up, and soon, everyone was out of the cages, waiting for their savior to lead them to safety.

Nazzek Minara
The merfolk was having a rough time, barely keeping himself from being overwhelmed by the sheer number of foes, while at the same time, trying to get as many away from Shi as possible. "Shi, retreat a little, make me some space!" he shouted, but this concern was short lived. Shi circled to the flank of a demon and touched his head. He screamed, but after a while, his visage was different. Not looking forward, but rather, at the sides, to his friends. The demon shoved his sword into his ally's ribs, and the attacked screamed in pain before crumpling to the floor, lifeless. The others noticed this and started attacking their former ally, who retaliated with all his might. Soon, the scene became even more chaotic, and Nazzek managed to get a little breathing room. "Hey Shi! Remember me not to anger you, ever!" He smiled, returning to his onslaught.

Myremon Seonag
"Wait, not yet!" Myremon urged to the two girls. "We gotta wait until Shi gives us the signal. We don't know the inside of the cave, and if Aiala goes outside, Nazzek, Lily and Shi will be slaughtered." Myremon looked up, waiting for Shi's signal.

Shi

Shi ran over to another demon and slipped into its consciousness as well. This time she had changed its thoughts much faster. She let go and let it go fight before running back Nazzek's side.
"Flare?"
She asked him, her tails whipping out to keep demons from Nazzek's back.

The merfolk retreated to Shi, as the demons backed out to regroup. "Not yet, Shi, I don't think the command-" Before he could finish, a blast of corrupted magic missed Nazzek by inches as the merfolk scrambled to get out of the way. "Hah, a merfolk and a little white... thing." The creature, bigger than the other demons emerged from the cave. The commander raised a sword towards Nazzek and Shi, shaking off the remains of the teleportation magic. "You'll be dead before lunch." She started shooting more blasts of corrupted magic, and Nazzek dodged, taking Shi with him. "Shi, now! The red flare!" He screamed, starting to fight again as the demons recovered their morale.

Shi

Shi got ready to fight before she felt a huge wave of demonic energy. She hissed at the new demon. She was not a thing! She was grabbing the red flare when Nazzek grabbed her, moving her out of the way. She then aimed the flare at the sky and shot it off. She immediately dropped them both and changed two more demons, making them attack the others.

Myremon Seonag & Nazzek Minara
"I think we waited long enough, let's ent-" Myremon was cut off by a bright light shooting across the sky, a trail of red following it. "Oh no... Oh no! Ash, Vero, to the front!" Myremon said with urgency. Even though he expected it, the wraith dreaded this event. He didn't wait for the other two, flying forward at full speed towards the source of the flare.

Aiala was on the back of his sizeable squad, although only a few of them were able to fight, due to Lily's present. Some of them were being healed by the mages, while some laid dead on the grass, the skin around the gash rotted away, possibly by Nazzek's brine magic. Myremon looked for the merfolk, and there he was, dodging an array of dark magic, coming from the entrance of the cave. "Myremon! The demon boss is here!" Nazzek screams, and in this moment of relapse, a bolt strikes him dead on the chest, knocking him prone. Myremon grits his teeth, and puts himself in front of Nazzek and Shi. "Are you okay?" He asks. "Mighty fine until that bitch started hurlin' murder balls." Nazzek says, regaining his breath. "You must be Aiala, the lieutenant of this area!" Myremon shouted. "A wraith going against the demons? Someone did a poor job creating you, didn't they?" Aiala laughs, and resumes the onslaught. "That one called you Myremon. Are you Lord Sylvia's pet project? Hah, taking you to her alive will be the next best thing I could have in this back end of a city!" Myremon raised a shield, protecting himself from the attacks, waiting for Ash and Veronica to go on the offensive, fending off the stragglers from the troops.

They couldn't even turn around to look at Myremon before he flew up and sped towards the other side. "Oh no..." It would take a few seconds to reach the other side, even if they ran. How could they reach the other side quickly?

Suddenly, an idea popped into Veronica's head. She turned to look at Ash.
"Ash. Throw me." Ash look at her, surprised. "What?" Veronica placed her hands on the demon girl's shoulder. "Throw me. Hard. You should be able to throw me to the other side. I'll grab you with my snakes to bring you along, and you help me with the landing. It'll take us too long to travel by foot." Ash eyes sparkled. She would fly! "Awesome!" She yelled, excited, before summoning her gauntlet. Veronica's snakes appeared and Ash grabbed her, ready to throw her. "Ready?" Veronica asked "Ready!" The demon girl yelled. Veronica's snaked wrapped around Ash just as she threw Veronica with all her might, bringing Ash along with her.

Ash hadn't thrown them too high up, so the landing wouldn't hurt a lot but they needed a way to stop. Reaching the other side, Veronica yelled
"Now, Ash!"
Ash pointed her gauntlets downwards, where Nazzek was fighting some of the demons. Letting her mana go wild, the force blew some of the demons away and slowed down the two girl's descent, letting them land safely. Veronica, standing up, unsheathed her sword and went towards Myremon, defending him from nearby demons. Ash quickly recovered and ran towards them as well, ready to crush some demons.

Shi

Shi smiled when Myremon came over.
"Big demon! Shi help fight!"
She ran away from them and focused, the gems on her body glowing. All at once she was a big hulking beast, ready to run over and rip apart the demons that came in her path.
She let out a roar and started crushing demons under her feet and between her teeth. She made sure to avoid her friends.

With a movement of her hand, Lily gleefully began to lead the humans out of the cave, skipping along the way. Thankfully, her tonic was a success, the only demons still within the cave were unconscious, the foxling happily jumping over their bodies as the trecked toward the exit. Unfortunately, it worked a little too well, the humans were slowed, with many of the younger, or weaker humans falling into a slumber from the stench, despite their makeshift masks, wasting even more time as their bodies needed to be carried out.

As they eventually reached the exit, Lily spotted her, an expression of pure delight overcoming the half-human's face. Still, she was far too close for Lily to attempt to strike her unconscious, and simultaneously get the pathetic humans to safety. With what little restraint she had left, Lily began to muster the captives from the cavern entrance, holding a finger over her mouth with a smile, as she scurried them out and around away from the ensuing battle.

Myremon Seonag & Nazzek Minara
Nazzek quickly rose from the floor after Myremon's help. "Thanks, mate! I thought I was going to get sack-" He was caught off guard by a demon-like projectile going above the cave, landing near the group. Myremon called the shield off, the actions of the group working harmoniously together. Nazzek charged forward, along with Beast Shi, trimming the demons and the horde of imps that came from the forest and adjacent roads, to aid their master. Myremon pointed his staff to Aiala. "Ash! Make a path through! I'll go up above!" He then shouted. "LILY! MAKE SURE THE CITIZENS ARE SAFE AND COME OUT! WE NEED YOUR HELP!" Aiala suddenly looked back. "You bastards, leading me out here!" She tried to rush back inside, but a multitude of black chains stopped her movement. "Your fight is with me, Lieutenant!" Myremon said, the other end of the chains coming from the tip of his staff, and leaving her vulnerable to Ash's pummeling.

The fight was on. The demons were unskilled, but they compensated that through sheer numbers, while the heroes struck through skill and magic. Myremon started pestering Aiala with ice spikes, unknowingly recovering a small part of his normal magic. Aiala started tearing through the chains, intent on recovering the precious sacrifices, along with her conduit on the center of the cave. "Veronica, aid Ash! I need someone to stop her!"

Looking back at Myremon, Ash smiled and faced foward, looking at the crowd of demons in front of her. She placed her hands forward and focused, concentrating the release of her mana through her hands. Letting it go wild once more, the force blasted a large path in the crowd, allowing anybody to reach Aiala, however, the same force sent her flying backwards.
Spotting Ash flying towards her, one of Veronica's snakes extended and wrapped around her. Using Ash's momentum, Veronica swung her around and sent her towards Aiala.

With a flash of bright blue in her eyes, Ash put her hands behind her and launched herself towards the ground, right towards Aiala, ready to smash her into the ground. Aiala felt the dislocated air behind her, and looked at the path that the brawler had opened for the group of interlopers. Grunting, she broke one of the chains that held her right hand, and seeing the brawler coming through with all her might, she could only smile. Charging her hand with dark energy, she aimed a punch right in the small one's face, an easy target to strike.

Smiling as well, Ash didn't attempt to dodge the attack. Instead, she also readied a punch as her eyes glowed with blue light. Going for the punch, both of their fists collided with each other, the pressure caused the ground beneath Aiala to break. "Guh..." Aiala said, still grinning. The impact tore off the rest of the chains, making the succubus free. "I know you..." She said, tearing off the remains of Myremon's magic, the chains disappearing in thin air. "You're Sylvia's daughter, aren't you?" She smiles, producing a sword from her scabbard, deftly deflecting Myremon's barrage. "She's looking for you. Two for one, I see." She glints a dangerous smile, and a pool of blackness appears under Ash's feet. Taken off guard by the mention of her mother, Ash didn't notice the pool of darkness forming beneath her. "How-" She could barely get a word out as the spell activated, inflicting massive pain onto her body as she got launched up into the air. "Grrhh...Aaaggghhh!" Although Pride helped her ignore some of the pain, it was still rather painful. Her balance was completely thrown off and she knew that releasing more mana to help soften the fall would weaken her, but it was either that or a lot of pain. She waited until the last second before a short but powerful release of mana blasted out from her, softening her fall but still hurting her.
