Alibaster and Aedus

The twins smiled and both held onto the duck. It was so cute! They then watched as her arm morphed and she pulled a tree - an entire TREE! - from the ground. They laughed happily at the display.
"We're both eight and we play with noises!"
They giggled and gave Ash back her duck. They ran over to a snake that was hissing its way on by. Aedus picked it up, the snake curling around her arm like it knew her and suddenly the hissing stopped. The snake still had its tongue out like it was hissing, but no sound came out. She smiled and let the snake slither over to Alibaster's arm. Suddenly the hissing continued but this time it echoed all around the group. It sounded like there was a large group of snakes closing in on then.
"Ta-dah!"

Myremon nodded at Shi. "Yes, Shi. Demons. You're doing well staying away, but don't do anything before they do it." he replied, using her own mental link. Staying a few feet ahead of them, he started to talk to Shi. "While we wait, can I do something? I won't hurt you, I promise. I just want to... make sense of what you are." He lowered his face to match hers, making eye contact. As of now, Shi was a complete mystery. Docile, harmless, but highly distrusting of demons, a mana flow so streamlined that almost seemed artificial, and no memory of her old life. He raised a hand slowly, emanating a faint pale light. He only looked where the twins were, but Lily, Veronica and Ash were there. Whatever it was, they could deal with it.

Shi

Shi looked over at Myremon and nodded.
"Shi is Shi."
She smiled up at him, watching as his hand lifting in the air. Light surrounded it, which amazed her slightly. She had certainly seen far more bizarre and magical things in her travels, but they always amazed her.
"What Myremon do?"
Gabe Gabe

"I know you are Shi. I just want to know what you are. Don't worry." Myremon touched Shi's right cheek, deploying the spell. It was a simple scanning spell for health issues. Myremon used this a lot when his former group was at Yrin. It could scan any abnormalities of the body for treatment, but this time, he was treating the whole body as an abnormality. His goal was to actually make a map of Shi's mana flow and other systems, to discern what was she exactly, and to see if there was any more clues as to her past.

"Come on! We'll lose it if we don't!..." Lily looked back toward the others, watching the strange demon twins' demonstration. Moving back toward them, Lily bent down slightly, placing a finger toward them. "These demons are full of surprises!" She chuckled with intrigue, looking back toward Ash for a short moment. "We should get going, who knows, maybe that dragon's roost is near here!" Her gaze moved back up toward Veronica with glee, it seemed as if she were completely serious.

Veronica stood there watching as the three half-demons showed off their powers. Noise manipulation. Neat. More importantly, they said they were 8. The hell. Her thoughts were interrupted when Lily began speaking, wanting to go to the dragon's nest. "Excellent idea Lily! Let's go there right now! We should be careful though! We don't know if it eats fox or humans or both!" She began laughing. "Bu-ut we should seriously get going to the next city. I'd rather find a place to sleep that isn't a forest."

Meanwhile, Ash was quite amazed at the twin's powers. "Amazing! You can easily be really sneaky or make a lot of noise for distraction, but to be sneaky, you can't be holding hands all the time. Sometimes ya gotta separate from each other and go different paths!"

Myremon started to mentally catalogue Shi's systems. The first thing he realized is that she wasn't properly alive, like Ash or Veronica were. Shi had a set of similar rules that the spell recognized as being human-like, but it was like whoever made Shi implanted the rules, to make Shi's behavior as approachable as possible. He studied Shi's mana flow, following the familiar streamlined points that covered her body. Her flow was so optimized that she only required extremely small amounts of mana to move, and any excess stored somewhere to power her spells and abilities. He followed the flow until he reached her core, and came to a realization: Contrary to living beings, who produce mana and release naturally, Shi absorbed mana from the environment and recycled it, powering up her body.

Myremon was amazed. A fully sentient golem, with a system so intricate that perfectly resembled a living being. Studying Shi's core more, he eventually reached a string of magic that resembled a command. When his spell touched it, Shi's chest started to glow, brighter and brighter until the whole chest cavity opened, and a pale blue sphere, seemingly made of titanium or other high conductive material. Shi seemed unfazed by this, as if it was just something that... happened. He approached his hand, feeling a surge of mana, of raw, unadulterated power coursing through his fingers. Was her peculiar core be able to give mana, just like she absorbed it? Fearing a mana overload, he gingerly cast a levitating spell, holding the sphere centimeters away from his gloved hand. It was marvelous, holding one's essence in his fingertips like that. A trail of visible mana traced back to Shi, who was ready to meet his gaze whenever he looked at her face. Even without the core, Shi was completely normal, acting as if it was just another day. He studied the intricate drawings, until something caught his eye. A symbol, of an infinity surrounding two R, the letters caught in the loop of the Möbius strip. He made a mental note of this drawing, drawing with a magic trail mid air. "You're wonderful, Shi... Absolutely wonderful..." He placed the core back in its receptacle, which promptly accepted it, closing back to its original state.

He patted the construct on her head. "Thank you, Shi. You're much more special than I thought you were." His fingers tingled once more. It was the third time that happened. Turning away from Shi, he took his glove off. The bundle of shadow energy that was his hand had something else. The tip of his fingers were clearly visible, even if it was a mere millimeter. He tried to touch a tree, and felt the pressure, the texture, the... everything. His flesh was returning. The corruption was fleeing his body, giving it back to Myremon. He placed his glove back, looking at everyone. He could do it, he definitely could get his body back.

Shi

Shi watched as Myremon concentrated on something. She found out what it was when he removed her heart. He didn't touch it or hold it like her Master had. She looked back up at Myremon.
"Heart. Shi have heart."
She pointed to the sphere he examined. He put it back where it belonged. She beamed when he pat her head. She smiled wide and then watched as he removed his glove. His hand was mostly gone. She looked at it with curiosity.
"Where Myremon's hand?"
She looked up at him with genuine curiosity.

Alibaster and Aedus

The twins beamed with the praise for their powers. Alibaster continued holding the snake. He let it slither up his arm to him shoulder. They both loved snakes so much.
"Don't worry about us! We're plenty sneaky!"
They smiled wide and giggled happily.

Nodding toward Veronica, Lily stuck a finger into the air in excitement. "Yeah! Shouldn't be hard to find a big old!...." The fox-girl stopped mid-sentence, her expression pausing in thought, bringing her finger back to tap on her chin. "It'd have to be real hungry to eat a fox... They're tiny!" She noted, clearly missing Veronica's implication, grinning back up toward the girl. "As for you Ron Ron, you are packing a bit of meat there." Lily pondered, prodding toward Veronica's stomach. "We could always send Myremoon in first, I don't think he even has flesh!" Lily began to nod again to her own words, giggling slightly at the notion of it.

"A proper bed does sound good though..." She noted, her last words audible through a yawn, her eyes still slowly blinking. "N-Not that I need it!"

"Maybe it might need a fox to feed it's babies. Perhaps we could send you first as a peace offering" Veronica said, giggling at the thought. "Nyeheheh. Well, It's amazing that you're still alive! Many dangerous creatures...." She paused for a moment, looking as if she remembered something bad. "...Oh uh, Many dangerous creatures live here. You must be pretty good at being stealthy." Veronica looked over to Myremon, who was putting his glove back on. "Hey Myremon, What do we do about these two? Let them continue on their own to whatever temple they want to go to or what?"

"It's... somewhere. It's coming back, just like my face." He shook his head, the heavy looking mask swinging from side to side. His attention was caught by Veronica, who asked him about the twins. "Well, Veronica, do you want to play the babysitter for one more pair of children or what?" He said, pointing at their entourage. Shi looked like she was old, but her mentality was still of a child. Ash was a child, even if her demeanor said otherwise. Lily... well. "I'm sure they can find their way by themselves. We also need to go to the city at haste, and resume our quest." He barely glanced at the twins, before continuing. "I've heard the noise coming from them, I'm sure they're capable of dealing with whatever is in the forest by themselves. If not..." He took a deep sigh. "At least give them something to defend themselves with. I don't want any of you to guilt trip me into escorting them."

"Hmph...They seem to be capable of being by themselves. They've survived this long in this world and once they reach whatever temple they're going to, they'll probably be safe. I agree, we should be going now." Veronica began walking forward, trying to get the best view of the sky. It's gotten a bit cloudy but it doesn't look like it'd rain anytime soon. Ash looked at Veronica and then turned back to look at the twins. "Look, we're going to have to leave now. Please be safe." She closed her eyes and then stood up heroically "Nyeheheheh! You both have to be extra sneaky! Be careful not to make a sound when there are monsters nearby! And I hope you both get to that temple!" She smiled at them.

Lily's face scrunched slightly at the notion, finally getting the reference. "I'm. Not. A. Fox!" She pouted as Veronica began walking away. "Humans..." She continued in a huff, before turning back to the twins, a smile suddenly beaming on her face. "You knoooooooow..." Her eyes flickered back at the others, before looking toward them. "I could always give you something to help you on your way... In exchange for..." Lily's grin seemed to grow in anticipation, staring at the tops of their heads, finger slowly reaching out toward the older one to prod the hard keratin layer. "A few shavings of these... Just the tip! They'll grow back!" She cackled slightly, before looking back toward the others as they began to leave, raising an eyebrow to the twins.

Alibaster and Aedus

The twins were semi entertained by the snake slithering on them. They looked up when the fox girl, who was barely taller than them, mentioned giving them something for shavings of their horns. Their eyes widened and they made their horns disappear.
"What horns!? We don't have horns!"
"Sister, we really should be going!"
"I agree with you for once, brother!"
"We really need to be going! So we'll be going!"
The twins turned and hastily started walking away.
"He's going to be very mad, Aedie..."
"...I know..."

"Goodbye you two! Be safe!" Ash waved at the twins as they left, soon disappearing into the trees. She turned around and ran up to the join the others. "Well! Let's go!" She began walking in front of the others. She wanted to get to that city fast, this time she might actually be able to sleep in one of the inns she saw there. "Well, Let's continue on." Veronica began walking along with the others. She wanted to get to the city as soon as possible so they could get a safe place to sleep.

"I hereby dub thee Lily, bane of Children, She who scares." He touched both of her shoulders before sighing. "I never liked the term mad scientist, but by the gods, Lily, you're turning out to be the textbook definition of it." He checked his gear once more, and even did a small dispel against scrying, just to be sure. "If nobody else has anything to do here, we need to proceed."

Travelling - 3rd Day
"..." Lily's grin turned slightly to side, crooked in nature, her expression seeming to freeze as she watched the twins begin to leave. It was already their third day here, and still they had yet to find anything she hoped to test with. A single ear perked up as Myremon spoke, her face returning to motion as she spun around to face him. "I think you mean inspired!" She lightly rebutted toward him wit a finger pointing upward, looking toward the twins for a split moment, before back up toward the wraith. "Dante said the tips grow back, so why do these demons seem to care so much..." Lily wondered aloud curiously, it seemed like a no-brainer to her, hell, if her fur had properties beyond making fancy clothing, she'd be shaving it monthly.

Pondering the idea for a moment, Lily looked at Shi and Veronica, before turning toward their destination. "You know, we can't all turn someone to ash with the flick of our fingers!" She giggled at the notion, yet their was a seriousness to her tone all the while. Her concentration was interrupted by the statement, moving her gaze toward Ash for a split-second. "...I mean... You know what I mean! If we're going to survive long enough to explore Yrin, we're going to need more than what we have now!" Her smile beamed up at the idea as she began to walk, of the things she could create, with the kinds of things there were to experiment with in these lands, their possible effects... Yet so far, her desires had hardly been met, the herbs of the land were definitely different, but after witnessing the fauna... It was hardly enough to satisfy her lust for the unknown.

After their encounter with the small demon twins, the heroes continued on their journey, beginning once more their trek to the city of Nier. On their way they encountered some small inconveniences such as a band of wild goblins and orcs attacking them but nothing they couldn't handle. They also took a couple of breaks in between so they can rest and eat. After a long 6 hours, they finally made it out of the forest and after a couple of more minutes on foot, they made it to the city of Nier. They could only see the tall building though as they were blocked from entering by a massive wall surrounding the city, the only way would be by the big gate in front of them.

"We're here!" Ash yells happily. She got off of Veronica's back and ran towards the gate. "The walls were much smaller though...I don't think I can climb them anymore..." Veronica was exhausted, mid-way through the journey, Ash had gotten tired, as she was the one who had used up most of her mana fighting the gang of goblins and orcs attacking them, so Veronica had to carry her.
"Fucking....finally" After a few more heavy breaths, she stands up and looks forward. "So...What now? Do we yell and see if there are any guards around to let us in?" She looks up and sees that there were indeed some guards up there. "Hey!" She takes another deep breath "Can ya let us in please!?" The guards look down and look worried for a moment but turn to the right and yell for someone. A dangerous looking man in armour comes over and looks down at the heroes. "State your business!" He yells in a loud, deep voice. Before anybody else could answer, Ash yells "Well we're trying to find a safe place to sleep and we found this place!" The man keeps looking down on the heroes but soon turns his attention to the wraith with them. He glares at him and puts a hand towards the heroes. A magic circle appears in front of his hands and after a moment, it disappears. "All of you can enter except for the wraith. We're not allowing something so corrupted enter this city."

Myremon looked at the city, its walls protecting its inhabitants and stopping progress of the group at the same time. Somehow, he found the whole place... familiar. "You're among children, Vero. Language." Myremon said. The original Veronica rarely cursed, but now, it was one of the things that she did on the normal. Myremon could only sigh, there wasn't anything else to do regarding her shift of personality. She screamed towards the walls, eliciting a response of a very familiar man. Before he could voice his concerns, Ash talked before him, requesting entrance. The man cast his spell, one of the only he knew, exactly like Myremon remembered. and Myremon felt his body being scanned. The spell gave off his obvious alarms, and the knight said that the wraith wasn't allowed entry. Before anyone else could say anything, Myremon took up flight, reaching the same level as the knight. "Finn! I am Myremon Seonag, one of the offworlders, from Darkene. This is who I am now. I hope you remember me, friend."

"...." Finn looked at Myremon. "Heh, Myremon huh? Well you certainly sound like him and you still have that ugly appearance...." He laughs. "So friend! What fucked you up so badly?" He place his axe over his shoulder and smirked. He usually joked around with Myremon back when he stayed in this city for a bit.
While they were speaking, the other guards opened the gate, allowing for Veronica, Ash, Shi and Lily to pass through. The gate closed behind them.
"Finally...We're here." Veronica looked at the busy street where all the shops seemed to be. There were many people of many different races. Demons, Beasts, Etc. "Hey Myremon! If you've finished, Let's find an inn to sleep in. I'm tired."

"Sylvia. I couldn't match her cunning, and unfortunately, me and my group were defeated. I'm glad that Nier still stands." Myremon looked down at the group. "You guys go on ahead. There's a good tavern near the main square, I'll have to catch up with my friend, here." He waved them, and hopped over the wall. "So, Finn, what happened to the city while I was gone? I remember young Amélie from the fruit stall..." They disappeared over the gate, chatting.

Travelling - 3rd Day
"Woh!" Lily mused at the sight of the massive walls surrounding the city, gazing from the building to the gate. Before they had even approached the half-human had a sly grin across her face, an almost satisfied expression, her bag somewhat heavier than when they had left Ash's house. As the gatekeeper yelled down toward them, and Myremon left their side, Lily giggled slightly in anticipation to what the wraith would do, getting on her toes to nudge Shi, placing a hand behind herself to hold onto her blowgun. "Ya thinks I shad' takes em' out baws!?" She eventually stammered the horrid Northern Darkene accent impersonation through her own chuckles.

As Myremon yelled back down toward them, the Beastkin girl let out a short, if not displeased, sigh. That was, until, she took a step inside. Lily's eyes almost popped open at the sight of it. This place was glorious! It had been far too long since she had been in a city, forced to the outskirts of those within Darkene, yet here they held no reservations about the alchemical arts. Without warning, Lily shot off, from stand to stand, checking any mixture on display, and reagent ready for sale, yet as she rushed about, her excitement slowly turned to disappointment. She had expected all manner of things, yet what she found were mainly herbs and roots, if not a few basic animal parts. Eventually, her expression followed, drooping into an awkwardly side-facing smile, finger dropping back to her side as she moved toward the others.

"Hardly an interesting tonic in the whole market... Guess I'll have to make my own!" Lily concluded, beaming up toward them. Then again, what she was looking for, likely wasn't legal, even in a city within Yrin. After all, the city was diverse, who knew what backlash a trader would get selling parts of their own kin back to them.

Shi

Shi looked up at the city with awe. It was so large and amazing. She had never seen anything so amazing before. She had only seen small settlements and towns. She looked around like a child, her tails swinging haphazardly behind her.
"So big! So many places! Shi very happy!"
She buzzed with excited energy, wanting to see everything. But then Veronica mentioned an inn. She knew what an inn was. Someone had mentioned it a while back. She didn't want to sleep. She didn't need it at all, but she didn't want to pretend. She wanted to be out and do some exploring. She had a small pout as she followed Veronica.

"A whole lot really. After a recent attack, we've fortified these walls and we've been more careful about letting people in. Many people didn't like the idea of letting all kinds of races in but the king says that as long as they aren't mentally corrupt, it's fine. We've even recruited some demons into the army to help defend." He looked to the side. "Unfortunately, Amélie was one of the many victims in the recent attack. Nobody has seen her since. We can only assume that she died and her body is somewhere hidden or that she was captured." Finn looked towards the heroes who yelled for Myremon to join up with them soon. "You should really go join them. I have to keep patrolling the walls and check if there are any other people at the other gates." He smacked Myremon pretty hard in the back, but in the way a friend would. "And you should really get stronger so you can fight in the frontline. You won't be protecting anybody if you're the one being protected." He laughed and said "If you want some more info, you can visit the king. He's at the castle right now. He can tell you everything you want to know. Oh and, try not to make stand out too much. We got a lot of people who came here after having their homes destroyed by wraiths."

Meanwhile, Ash was leading the way for the others so they could get to the inn. There weren't too many people on the street. "It's really changed. A lot of new shops and everything." Veronica was looking around. It's amazing that they've been able to keep this city still standing for so long. It doesn't look like it'll fall anytime soon either. Her thoughts were interrupted when a woman began yelling at someone from inside a bar.
"Come get me shark man!" She chuckled. Bar fights here too. She took a quick glance inside and continued walking. "......Wait." She walked backwards and looked inside the bar. "What the hell?" This woman...she looked really familiar.

"Come on shark man! Show me what ya got!" The tall, muscular, red skinned demon woman yelled at the shark man in front of her. They were the only two people still conscious in the bar, besides the bartender who seemed to not really care at all. The bodies of the other patrons were on the floor, unconscious and beaten up. Both the demon woman and shark man were both standing on tables, both incredibly drunk.

Myremon Seonag
Myremon nodded at the man. He listened quietly about what happened to the city while he was away, and hung his head low when Finn mentioned the poor girl killed in the attack. "I see... I'm glad that you grew stronger while I was supposed to do my job." He sighed. The reminder that he failed on his quest was hot on his mind. He could've avoided this, if only he was stronger. Finn's hit on his back was enough to snap him away of the spiral of bad thoughts. "Thank you for your service, Finn. I won't fail again, I promise. I'll talk to you later." With that, he returned to his group.

"The city had changed so much..." He said, surveilling the environment. Demons were among the inhabitants, and some of the citizens stared in fear or anger at the wraith. He knew what wraiths did to the city, but he couldn't do anything about it. All he could did is to finish his quest, and get his body back. Myremon reached the group when they were already at the tavern, and his stunned silence could speak volumes, if it wasn't drowned by the sounds of the tavern brawl.

Nazzek Minara
"YER ALL GOB, ONI, I DID HALFA JOB WHILE YE TWIRLED ON YER FUCKEN CLUB! COME AT ME!" The merfolk giant charged, locking his upper arms with the Oni. He looked extremely pleased with the situation at hand, and his blue skin was dark around the cheeks, a clear indication that he was completely wasted. The lower arms were ready, and both connected to the giant red mass in front of him. The Oni staggered, but the punch seemed to do minimal damage, because Nazzek was thrown back by the sheer force of the woman. He came crashing down the only remaining intact table, but as soon as the pirate touched ground, one of his arms already threw a piece of wood at his opponent. The Oni deflected the piece of wood, but as soon as she lowered her arms, Nazzek's fist was about to connect. It was her turn to fly away, falling on top of some poor patron on the floor. "SEE? DON' GET UP, ELSE YER GONNA GET DOUBLE THAT!" Nazzek guffawed, a huge grin plastered across his face. She rose again and they started to trade blows, sweat and blood permeating the small "ring" they created in the tavern.

Myremon Seonag
As soon as the wraith recovered from the scene, he took a good look at the woman, recognizing her instantly. He went in front of the group, approaching as close as possible while maintaining a safe distance from the brawl. There was no doubt about it. "It is really Rena..."
