Age: 22
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Appearance:

Personality:

Walt is has a nurturing nature which is the result of becoming a father at a relatively young age, but he also believes that sometimes you need a little tough love. He is inquisitive, and loves trying to figure out how things work. He studies psychology and dabbles in philosophy, driven by a desire to help but more so a need to understand people and the universe in which they reside.

He quietly hates those who summoned him, but he has no idea how to get home. And he needs to be home. Furthermore, Walt hates to see suffering and feels obligated to help. His power weighs on him heavily, but he understands the need for it. He does his best to combat an negative side effects on himself through music and physical activity rather than letting himself dwell and brood. He often appears to be putting on a happy face or over eager to peruse some activity.

Fear:

  •     He will never see his child again
  •     The good he does causes as much harm
  •     That he will lose his will and be consumed by darkness
  •     (His power can trigger other fears to develop)

Aspiration:

  •     Find a violin
  •     See his child through their education
  •     Save those (immediately) around him

Magic:

Walt can absorb darkness from his surroundings. This can be literal, brightening a room but there is little-to-no purpose for this. The real power comes from emotional darkness.
This can come from people but demons prove to be a terrific source. Once a reserve is built up, Walt leaks darkness, slowly distorting his surroundings. Plants wilt. Metals corrode. If he is retaining enough darkness he can focus it to rapidly distort the world around him, collapsing walls or tearing living things apart.

When set against something, the magic has no appearance. The object, or being will simple darken, decay, collapse or shatter. When Walt is absorbing darkness from an entity, black lines appear extending a couple inch from the target, as if darkness could shine like sunbeams through smoke.

Strengths:

  •     Strongest when he is losing
  •     Cannot remove injuries, but can remove the suffering a swelling
  •     When adsorbing the darkness from a demon, it effectively slows or stuns them

Weaknesses:

  •     He feels every bit of the suffering that he absorbs
  •     The stunning effective is the result of demon's being unable to resist toying with his mind, whispering taunts and forcing halucinations upon him.
  •     Walt worries that taking darkness from people also takes the inverse good from them.

Equipment:
Strings of coloured beads and charms which blacken and deform depending on Walt's state of mind. He winds them through his hair and in between his fingers. He has been provided a ceremonial knife and an embroidered skirt but he thinks the people of where-ever-they-are overdid that one. He prefers his flannel shirt and carries a lumberjacks axe into combat. Sometimes he wears the shirt around his shoulders as a cape to be polite or fit the part.1

"Heroes, please save the world!"
"If it takes me home"

Asking the important question: Can we call him "Dad"?

His weakness is good enough for me since that makes him a glass canon whose mental state could be affected and maybe even corrupted by the demons.

He's accepted!
