  • It was the 22nd of February, 2020 AD.

    On that memorable day, at the height of noon eastern seaboard time, the world changed forever.

    The most common example cited was one of a man in the city - known then as New York - who'd been walking his dog out.

    As he crossed the intersection of Bell Boulevard and 48th Avenue in the Queens district of the city, he received a text message from his ex and felt a twinge of intense annoyance at her boasting of her new boyfriend.

    After sending her some less-than-wishful replies, he crossed the street and froze in shock as the glass of a thrift store next to him broke.

    Alongside with the glass shards, however, what sprawled on the sidewalk in front of him was unmistakably a demon. Not some kind of allegory or metaphor, but a rather literal beast from Hell, with blood-red scales, phosphorescent volcanic eyes, and black curled horns.

    It hissed at him then stepped forward menacingly. His dog shied away, running and taking its owner with it.

    Soon enough, other windows and glass surfaces across the street began to break as well, spilling other demons in a rainbow of colors, shapes, sizes, and degrees of malice. None of them pursued or were interested in him, although some did observe him with mild affront or curiosity. They started to pop up from other places; teleporting in the middle of the street with a sudden distortion of space, swimming from the shore of the nearby Oakland Lake, swooping in from the clouds on a pair of batlike membranes, feathered wings, or through no visible means of propulsion. Some of them were almost human in appearance, while some others were more like humanoid dragons that hunched over and were given an additional level of ominous character.

    In less than five minutes, by all means this man could use to determine it, the entire district of the city had at least a hundred of these demons. Most of which, to his confusion - as overshadowed as it was by his fear - appeared to be surprised and disoriented.

    He was quick to go home and inform the police, but he was too late: the police already knew.

    In that exact minute, in hotspots across New York, demons started appearing, with a strong focus on initial locations where some kind of negative emotion or particular brand of sin had been displayed, although it quickly spread to other places as well. Most of these demonic incidents were locked into the area of New York, with a handful in Connecticut, Long Island, and New Jersey.

    In less than two hours, fourteen percent of the civilian population was dead, and thirty-nine had evacuated the greater area spanning New York. At least ten percent had been captured by the enemy, and would later be enslaved.

    This was by no means, however, the only place this was happening.

    Fifteen minutes after the demonic attacks began, a skeleton in tattered black cloth robes teleported into the Kreml. Speaking in fluent Russian, he declared himself the new ruler of the Russian Federation on live television. Without much ado, he raised an onyx-wood scepter tipped with a spectral violet gem, which shot out with dozens upon dozens of dark purple cords. These cords connected to the necks of the president, Prime Minister, deputy ministers, federal ministers, and other governmental authorities in the building. They became his slaves, and the population of Moscow would become his army.

    Eight minutes before that, the Heavens above Rome began to rumble, as the Earth shook. The white tapestry of clouds split apart as a host of angelic creatures rushed down into the Vatican. Some of them were recognizably humanoid, while others resembled winged lionmen, or beings that weren't humanoid or even animal in appearance. There were spirits of air, water, earth, and fire with them, as well as other entities. One of them, introducing itself as Michael, promptly thanked the pope for his devotion then stepped into him and fused with him, becoming the All-Holy Prince.

    In other places, various other events took place, with reports that would have sounded truly insane for someone living back then.

    King Arthur rose from Avalon, brandishing Excalibur, and immediately repelled a fairy invasion of London, before reclaiming the throne. Every animal in the Chinese zodiac became manifest as a pack of traveling spirits, each one as large as a high-rise building was tall, and started to migrate across Asia. There were reports of a group of men in chrome-colored armor with reflective blue faceplates, who kidnapped the German president and claimed they were there in order to "stabilize the timeline."

    But that was the 22nd of February, 2020 AD.

    The current date is the 1st of March, 21XX.

Race: The Cyber Lich!
Cyber Liches are different from their more traditional counterparts but act in a manner that is similar to them. They don't require food, sleep, drink that normal biological creatures do, instead relying entirely on a power source (whether internal, external, rechargeable or infinite is dependent on the cyber lich). The most obvious difference between traditional liches and cyber liches is that obviously they are technological beings rather than mystical although that doesn't mean they can't learn magic but magic that requires flesh bodies to operate is unavailable to them. Their bodies are extremely modular but the most common forms, (that of humanoids), are pretty strong and flexible, the degree of their flexibility, strength, and durability is dependent on the materials that they used to augment their physical forms. In terms of a phylactery, most cyberliches don't have one, save for the ones that have discovered the secret to essence transfer. If you want to make a phylactery for a cyberlich, you need around 60 kgs (11 lbs) of gold, 3 Li-ion (lithium ion) cells (backup cells may be required), a coolant system (can be water or air based), an antennae relay to catch the Lich's consciousness, a housing device for the incoming consciousness, and a serviceable body to then transfer into. Healing magic doesn't work unless it is the 'reverse the damage' type of healing magic, most cyberliches repair themselves manually from the materials around them or if they're advanced enough can use self-repairing technologies. Most cyberliches dull their emotions although some choose to freely express them. A final important note that their consciousness doesn't die when they lose power, they merely lose the energy to move their bodies and require prolonged torpor to build up enough 'spiritual' energy to recharge their packs temporarily, during this torpor they are completely vulnerable.

Backstory:
In deep, desolate, forests of Pennsylvania, there is a manor that once belonged to a mad scientist who yearned to recreate his family who were lost in the great event. "Again, they'll live through machinery and circuitry" -- the poor, deluded fool boasted. Each day, he crafts a set of mechanical bodies in their likeness and each night, he casts them out for being imperfect. "Nothing but the best for my family!" he shouts each time as he tosses the shells into a ravine. With each iteration, they become more advanced, less like shells and more and more like complete beings. Regardless of how complete, they become they still remain shells. One day however, one of the shells discarded like an unloved child awoke in the ravine with emerald green eyes, he stared at the morning sky, wondering what happened to him. He reached for the sky and saw his slender, machine appendage, it should rightly terrify him yet the only thing that he felt was a dull chill down his spine. His entire brain had been replaced with a complex, synthetic replica filled with various goodies like emotional vaults that contain any unwanted 'distractions.' But despite the present restraints on his emotions, there is one thing that managed to circumvent those troublesome restraints. Rage. A growing anger filled his being, as the last memory of his human self sprouted in his mind's eye, the metallic table, the dissections... THE SCIENTIST! He was responsible for this fate and HE SHALL PAY!

With creaking joints, the shell climbed out of the ravine and made its' way to the manor. The manor's automated defense systems ignored the walking automaton and let it inside. The scientist had just finished a batch and was enthusiastic about his work as he always was. So joyous was he, that he neglected to mention the metallic clanking sounds of bare iron feet coming up behind him. The shell gripped the scientist's shoulder with one hand and turned him around, the shell's hands then turned into metaphorical pincers, instantly closing around the scientist's neck."Bu-but... you... gzsh shoul-dn't" The words escaped him."Wh-hy, yo..u areeeehh a son to me" The scientist pleaded."It is the Kind's duty to surpass his creator." With those parting words, the automaton snapped the neck of his 'creator' with a satisfying crunch. With the scientist dead, the shell disposed of his body then began to research what the scientist had been doing. It appears that the scientist in his madness had begun to use parts of human beings in order to give his automatons more life and fervor. The shell found this quite contemptible but not because of the act of butchering innocents but of how comedically bad the scientist was at it.

In time, the shell remembered what HIS name was, Sebastian Aschenbrenner but that was it, no further recollection could be gained even with the countless upgrades over the years or even partaking in arcane knowledge but Sebastian did make the manor his permanent residence and continually improves it like he improves his body. He didn't continue the scientist's research, instead taking on some of his own. Life was good for the self-proclaimed CyberLich, although the occasional intruder did get annoying after awhile, what with cleaning up the mess from his defense system and sometimes dealing with the matter personally. He did meet a fine woman named Elizabeth though, she gave him some of the happiest years of his 'unlife'. Years later however, he still embarks into the world to search for any recollection of his human life, he truly wishes to know what kind of man he once was.

PHYSICAL
Appearance: Emerald green eyes that glow with superiority, cold-metallic fingers that move in an unnerving natural manner, an iron top hat encrusted with golden ornaments, a skeletal frame that hides underneath a dashing coat with seepage of jade green energy.
Weapons & Armor:
Sebastian's coat is made up of a durable, flexible, titanium alloy that is strong enough to stop small caliber firearms dead in their tracks, heat resistant when things get toasty, acid resistant, stab resistant, and the coat also packs some auxiliary technology like a back up compass, thermometer, clock & timer, and a significantly weaker, spare battery pack;
Cane Sword Don't be fooled by this decorated walking cane, it houses a deadly (60 cm - 26 inched) blade within its' body;
'Elizabeth' So named after a woman that Sebastian once knew, this revolving pistol fires 5.7x28 rounds. It can be loaded by a speedloader or the bullets can be individually placed into the chambers, Sebastian typically carries 2 of these speedloaders with him on expeditions, (3 if he expects it will take a long time);
Herr Schrotflinte A quad-barreled shotgun for those pesky peasants or the wondering monster that comes to his manor. This version of the shotgun is suited to 8 gauge, 3.5" ammunition. Our good Lich carries 4 in the chambers and 24 on his person;
Items & Personal Belongings: Mark IX Battery -- the latest and improved battery variation that Sebastian currently uses, it has enough battery power to last him a single year of constant and active physical action; A locket with a picture of a fair, Caucasian woman with brown locks; A multi-tool that has a knife blade, a reamer, a bottle-opener–screwdriver–wire stripper, a miniature flashlight, and a solar-powered, green, laser pointer.
Skills & Abilities: The Corrosive Duke has quite the gains for a slender guy, he can lift around 3 tonnes (3000 kg) and punch with the force that is two times greater than elite boxers; His top speed is 30 km/h (18 mph); He is an expert duelist with longswords, and rapiers; Acidic Blast -- Out of two oval-shaped ports on his hands, he can fire a stream of acid, this acid is self replenishing; He can fire a gun as well as a trained veteran; His endoskeleton is durable enough to take consecutive blows from a roided-out gorilla; Endosym Repair unit -- This useful gizmo is located in the interior of his body and is the source of his automatic repairs, the unit absorbs metal then repurposes it to the best of its' abilities and qualities to replace damage; Field-smithing -- He is a skilled craftsman;
Spells & Magic: Corrosion Enhancement -- He can enhance any blade or blunt object to be corrosive, the enhancement typically lasts around 3 minutes;
Weaknesses: Prolonged exposure to Salt Water will rust his durable joints, The Endosym Repair unit can be overwhelmed by too much damage and is limited by the material present around Sebastian (No good quality metal = No good quality repairs), His acid is not magic based thus can be neutralized by a skilled chemist -- it is also not that great against highly acid resistant material/individuals, despite having a phylactery if Sebastian is killed -- He will have to travel ALL THE WAY back to the group thus effectively taking him out of the fight for a-long-while, although Sebastian's main battery is durable and long lasting -- it can still be taken out via damage (good luck getting him to expose himself like that though), and his field-crafting is again limited by the resources present and his knowledge.

Backstory: Born as one of the many daughters of Satan himself, Eris was born arrived on the human plane alongside many others of her kind, but unlike the ferocious beasts that were her relatives, she wasn't exactly very hostile towards the human populace so much as curious.

Grabbing a hold of a human device known as a "phone", she began research into everything she could find about humans: their past, the present, where she herself had come from, etc.

Eventually coming across a specific religion that caught her eye, Satanism. Little more than a child at that point, she began her exploration of the human world with that church in her mind and all the moral principles it held, but to her dismay, finding living humans was proving rather difficult as the rest of demonkind had already begun razing the world as harshly as they could.

Eventually she found herself amongst a more stable human society in Bend. Oregon, and her contact with the human kind truly began.

They were wary at first, as was expected, but upon her proving herself to be, well, surprisingly normal in a strange foreign way, she was given relatively free-roam while remaining under observation.

Years later, the small demonic child had grown up amongst the human kind, her strange ability having been documented years prior but no action taken for fear of angering the friendly Eris that seemed to have become a rather upstanding citizen.

Backstory: The island of Cuba, many thought of it to be a communist bastion isolated from the rest of the world but in reality it was all a façade, a paradise for people to hide from the rest of the world in respite. Any conspiracy theory you might've thought it was true about someone's death was probably true, John F Kennedy, Tupac and Biggie, Abraham Lincoln, Rasputin they all just moved to Cuba and relaxed on the beach drinking Pina Coladas.

After the cataclysm nothing much changed, bunkers, off shore accounts and self sustainainable nuclear energy hidden as nuclear weapons could sustain this secret society for years.

That's the society that Leo grew up in. Unfortunately her family heritage wasn't particularly good, her famous relative being Adolphe Sax the lucky inventor of the Saxophone. She wasn't particulary good at studying or at sports so she spent most of her time on what remained of the internet, growing up on it basically.

That's when while she was playing through season 2XX of LoL on her favourite champ Ryze, who recently had his 3000th rework, she got an ad. "Click here to get incredible super powers!" So she decided to try and close the ad, but she missclicked.

Through that missclick she got wonderous powers, which she uses to live her life to the fullest.

: HAH! Nah! ...Actually, probably straight, but when you lived for so long, it's hard to think of long-lasting romance. He had a few run-ins with a few witches, though.

High Concept: Immortal hobo from long ago who's really powerful but couldn't be bothered to take things seriously.

Backstory: The world turns and spins, but one thing was always clear to Seo: He hated life. Not humans r anyone specifically, he just hated to live for no real good reason. His parents weren't brutally murdered, he doesn't have some sort of wife that died or anything. Seo, long ago, simply realized one single thing: He was born lower than anyone on the earth. Naturally born as a loser, naturally born homeless, naturally born talentless: He's one of many in society who couldn't grasp simple concepts such as 'education', 'family', or 'happiness' in the era he's once lived on. He never saw a reason to keep on living. He never saw a reason to try and conquer something- memories of slums and darkness is the farthest he remembers. Not a mother's or father's warmth- simply the comradery of others like him.

A man without talent living an unremarkable life with an unnoteworthy death. That's what it was meant to be.

He's not sure how or when, but he once met the creation god Seokga, he who tried to usurp control of the world from the other who created it with him in three contests, all of which failing. Seo-jun doesn't remember the details- drunkness and black clouds filled with his mind, yet the infuriating brightness of he-who-created-the-land and his face was something that would be forever be burned into his memory. He was unaware. He should have walked away- yet, his drunken mind spoke louder, and he interacted with the Trickster. Three contests- a contest of knowledge, a contest of strength, and a contest of one's words in turn of a wish. It was on that night Seo-jun discovered he wasn't some sort of naturally born loser. Even when drunk, he somehow won against the god, even though he doesn't remember how.

Yet, despite winning, the yet-drunken homeless man simply wished for one thing:

'I wish to have new shoes.'

There was only silence from the god, and Seo-jun could realize that there was a mild surprise behind those eyes and amusement. Not because of the wish, but due to the god discovering what sort of man Seo-jun was. He wasn't going to be some hero. He wasn't going to have his name written in any books. He wasn't even going to be remembered by the god despite having a fountain of talent in his own words. And as such, Seokga simply smiled, and gifted Seo-jun-- an event that causes the homeless man great anger and pain to this day. Immortality and power- something he never wished for, something he never wanted. Seeing the man's pain and belief his 'gift' was a curse, Seokga asked Seo one simple thing: To explore the world and see it's wondering, collect magical artifacts and stories, and tell them to him one day, whenever the god wishes to, to see if he'll keep being immortal, or if he proved himself worthy of death.

As such, the most blessed man in the world started his journey to get rid of every single one of his blessings.

Seo-jun possesses an as of yet unknown number of magical artifacts. Those of which being national treasures, mythological weapons, simple slightly useful pieces of gear, among others. He forgets many of the ones he uses mainly, making this largely a wildcard factor for people fighting him for the first time. Although due to his style of fighting and personality, he doesn't use these artifacts to their full extent in most situations and seems to forget a few of them exist unless someone mentions them, which he'll go 'oh yeah.'

[Magical Trolley]

At all times, Seo carries with him a supernaturally enchanted supermarket trolley with a blanket all over it, hiding its inside contents from the rest of the world. This trolley, an artifact capable of changing shape to whatever storing object Seo needs, has essentially infinite space- and is where Seo keeps most of his magical weapons, artifacts- and...Candies, food, among other things. There's probably a bottle or two there. Seo-jun is completely and utterly immortal. No matter the size of the explosion, the strength of the attack, the conceptual weight behind it- Seo's immortality is tied together with the concept of 'creation' and 'trickery', in the sense that whenever he dies or should be dead, from his death, the concept of trickery is born, affecting the meaning behind the attack of his opponent, and making it so it isn't able to affect his immortality or make him reach a true death. Despite this incredibly powerful ability, however, Seo-Jun is still affected by non-deadly effects and attacks. When his head is lobbed off, even if it will eventually attach itself back, a scar will stay in place. When he breaks his bones or ruptures his lungs, they won't heal instantly. When he feels hunger, sleepiness, thirst, he will suffer the effects of each and all.

In other words, Seo-jun cannot be killed despite looking for someone who can be so, but he isn't immune to everything and anything- just the things that would cause his death.

Seo-jun is old, and in his home, he collected many magical artifacts. Some important and noteworthy, others common and able to be replicable. But many of the ones he wields belonged to great men and women in story- legendary figures who were their original wielders. To be capable of wielding them all, Seo-jun was given the ability to be able to have any magical weapon or artifact be able to be wielded by him, by 'tricking' and 'willing' the artifact with both trickery and divine will to be wielded by him. Despite this, Seo isn't known for using the artifacts to their full potential when he does fight. His fighting style is akin to a wild and drunken man grabbing whatever there is next to him as a weapon. While he can use the full potential of his '''treasures''', they tend to be used in short periods of time, seemingly as a way to constantly confuse his foes due to him constantly shifting weapons. In other words, he's pretty wasteful when using them at all.

In order to survive, Wobb absorbed what he thought to be a powerful magic, one that drove the humans away and burned then when he tried hard enough. When he finally rejoined the group, he was irradiated, glowing, and worst of all, Sterile. He could dispel his radioactivity, but no healing known to his kind could make him fertile again. He was exiled and abandoned, left to his own devices in the wasteland. So, with no better option, he took up adventuring. Most of his quests thus far have been wild goose chases, snipe hunts, and excuses to get rid of him. But he hopes that this quest is real.

Metallized Skeleton: Despite appearances, that skeleton isn’t pure bone. It’s actually bone coated with a layer of aluminum, making it harder than the standard stuff and almost completely corrosion resistant! This makes it possible for Wobb to have the advantages of a complete skeleton without any drawbacks, and the option to eject it if the need arises.
The Glowing Rock: A huge hunk of radioactive material that Wobb often draws on for power. However, he’s mentioned that it’s getting dimmer, and seems to worry that he’ll exhaust its power soon. But even powerless, it’s still a very heavy rock.

Wire Circlet: A crown-like circlet made from raw copper wire and colored glass. Wobb doesn’t wear it much these days.
The slime doll: A figurine made out of clear, solidified slime. It appears to be female, with a cute face. He says it reminds him of somebody that he used to know.

Slimeshifting: Able to shift his slimy form however he likes, Wobb can ooze through tight spaces, turn into something like a hard rubber, and stretch his limbs out like Sticky hands. Useful, but it’s hard to do without an underlying structure.
Flail/wrecking ball mastery: Constantly fighting with nothing but stretchy limbs and a big ol rock teaches you how to fight with nothing but a big ol rock on the end of something stretchy. And it teaches you well. Plus, you at least kind of get the concept behind whips and grappling hooks as a bonus.
Improvised weaponry/tactics: Wobb isn’t quite Macguyver, but he’s pretty good at making things up as he goes. He can throw most things in such a way that the sharp end hits his target most of the time, come up with new moves on the fly, and selectively dissolve/corrode things to turn almost anything into a quick (but normally fragile) weapon.
Slime spitting: Wobb is very good at spitting bits of himself at enemies. In addition to being very sticky and carrying his currently absorbed energy type, this slime hardens into something like rubber when allowed to dry.
Spells & Magic:
Energy absorption: Can absorb, metabolize, and harness most forms of energy, allowing him to turn enemy spells and elemental attacks into energy he can use for his own attacks. This also technically means he can live on nothing but sunlight and water if he has to... But that’s really hard on him.
Radioactive Energy: Because Wobb lugs around a big hunk of radioactive metal, he always has radioactive energy on tap... Well, at least until he finally depletes it. His radiation mostly burns skin and causes illness, but it’s not immediately dangerous or fatal. However, it greatly amplifies his already-powerful corrosion, allowing him to burn through materials quickly.
Corrosive Body: All slimes inherently have the ability to corrode, melt, and digest things that they touch or engulf. Most humanoid slimes can, with training, apply their corrosion selectively. Wobb is one of those slimes, and can choose what he does or does not burn away when he touches it.
Weaknesses:
Core: That small eyeball is, in fact, an eyeball. And it’s also Wobb’s core. It is his one weak point and even a minor scratch on it could lead to a fatal infection. A strong enough blow could actually kill him outright.
Element lock: After absorbing any kind of elemental energy, he temporarily takes on the traits of that element. As such, he has both its resistances and its weaknesses.
A fool: Wobb might be clever, but he’s not very well read, he’s very trusting, and he’s a sucker for pretty ladies. You could probably trick him and he wouldn’t realize what you did to him for a whole week.

Bio: Grown in a test tube covered in satanic runes and devil-tech for a war of the end times, Orobo was raised in a lab environment with few role models and even fewer friends. During his rare time off from testing, Orobo would sneak into a break room for the scientists of the installation and watch segments of old recordings. Orobo after 30 years of testing was deemed fit for battle and set to fight in the Armageddon war as one of humanity’s last defenders against an insane God of the Heavens. Backstory: Born in the land of Cscech, a moderately sized island in the western seas, where a game of Chess was enchanted and grew into an entire society on a slice of land that cracked off of Britain. Milton, originally named Akelhine (but has officially, as much as one can nowadays, changed his name), had the role of Adjourner to the White King, an extremely high-position to royalty, similar to an advisor in the Twin Kingdoms. While the King and the Court were busy planning their constant offense against the Black Kingdom, the King needed breaks in between for stress-relief while still keeping his strategical mind active. Thus, the Adjourner was to entertain the king however they would, without withering his competitive skills. So, for the first five years in his job, Milton played Chess with the king, the game from which their civilization sprung, and their society had been based upon. This gave Milton a great mind at not just Chess, but other games as well, slowly gaining the upper-hand at simple dice games he played with his family, or games of chance with his school pals. However, this peaceful life changed when, during one of the most important battles between the two kingdoms (which survivors say may have settled their lifelong dispute for good), a warlock's apprentice somewhere in the world misplaced a rune in a spell, and the island of Cscech was broken in two. Many perished in this massacre, but a few survived in the only available dinghies that survived the blast.

Then, after a few more casualties, the handful of groups that survived the cataclysm reached a new, smaller island; a human safezone known as Leakok, a society established a few years after the Incident, and a place where people try their best to be as normal as possible. Thought they were from a different place and time, the Leakoans accepted the survivors into their society, mostly because none of them knew dangerous magicks, and were all technically human. However, the black and white survivors did not particularly like their new way of life, and attempted to set a small town of their own on the already crowded island, where they could restart their Land of Two Kingdoms without interruption. Milton, however, was interested in moving on from the same monotonous battles and arguments, and he and his family moved into the city-like areas on the island. It was here Milton decided to change his name, and started dressing like them, talking them, the whole sha-bang. But where he really excelled was in competitions involving old, surviving board and card games from the supposed 'normal days'. He had played Chess and some dull Dice games as many times as times he had eaten in his life, but here, there was a whole new flavor to play with, and he quickly gained respect for his tactics in such games against friends, family, and even strangers.

Things once again became peaceful on Leakok, until once again, tragedy struck. However this time, Milton couldn't escape it. At midnight on a day like no other, a powerful spirit sprang from the sea and invaded the life-force of the island, scaping it to it's liking. When the people on the island awoke, no longer were there makeshift cities and tents, but fantastical forests and dangerous caves filled with puzzles and artifacts that were the epitome of what they had tried to stave off all these long years. But the spirit was not finished yet, oh no, it wanted entertainment for it's new home, and began the Drowning Game. It was simple, apparently; There were four statuettes that the spirit had crafted with it's new bodies power, each representing (and having) a natural element, and residing in one of two places on the island. The goal for anyone currently alive was very basic: collect all four statuette's and you would be allowed to leave. Before the game even started, several people lost their lives to petty arguments over who would get to leave, but the people of Leakok soon found out the game would not be so easy. Every location possible, either holding a treasure or not, had puzzles or monsters that awaited them. These included lava pits, endless forests, living sand, and hungry fishmen. On top of that, every three hours, a different part of the island would sink into the ocean. Sometimes a different part would join it, or it would come back up, but there was no pattern to it whatsoever.

Several civilians went insane and jumped over the cliffs to end their lives on their own accord, while those remaining sane took it upon themselves to work together to win. Splitting into groups, and using salvaged walkie-talkies, this system nearly worked, with the earth, fire, and wind statues getting obtained, with as few casualties as possible. However, there still remained the water statue, and the final Puzzle, something so large that many who tried to solve it weren't even able to grasp the pieces that made it up. Milton was part of the team that was to retrieve the final statue, with many losing their lives to the beasts in the well that held it. However, Milton realized that this wasn't just a test. Like the whole scenario, it was a game; there were rules that could be followed to win. Jumping in without warning, Milton dodged the creatures for a few seconds, before finding his trump card, this being the fact that the bricks in the walls of the well could be moved. By observing the pattern the humanoid monsters took, Milton used this to press the bricks in a certain manner, which immediately caused the Well to begin to drain, scaring the creatures back into the Ocean, and allowing the last survivors to gain their prize.

But they still faced the final puzzle. A large circular stone room with no roof, but no way to get over it. There were massive metal gates of different colors encircling this room, which was apparently the finish line, but they were so incredibly smooth no had been able to get over it. But once the small group of people returned with the four statues, their prizes for surviving as long as they had, emblems began to glow on the gates, yet they didn't move a bit. The other civilians had no idea what they meant, but putting together the fact that the stone room and gates were connected to the island as a whole, Milton ran deeper into the Island, and began to solve the riddle. First, he set fire to the remaining trees near the beach, then fed the hungry sand dunes, then walked around the giant willow bush sixteen times, etc. While he was gone, his living compatriots attempted to use a nearby piece of rubble to jump over the edge of the room, which resulted in their quick immature deaths, their copses getting struck by lightning for breaking the rules. When Milton arrived back at the Exit, he found the fried bodies of his friends, but he also found a single gate open, which he quickly took.

However, when he entered the room, he wasn't just allowed to leave. As he sailed away, Milton could feel a sharp pain in his head as he was given a reward for beating the spirits game, one that would make his new life of loneliness and adventure much easier. The spirit granted Milton a portion of it's divine thought and strategic knowledge, as well as the ability to heighten the stakes of any game in reality, such as making a game of checkers cost a literal arm and a leg. When he activates this heightened ability, his body physically changes, his humanity dripping away slightly to allow for his gift to work properly (keep in mind, though, that this is not a possession; Both forms he takes are still Milton, no matter what).

When this happens, his body melts into a more viscous black substance, as to allow the spirits powers to flow without creating scars in and out of his body. When in this state, any injuries will not be felt until he reverts back (meaning he is not immortal), and he has the ability to affect any and all activities classified as 'games' near him, raising the stakes or making the game itself deadly to all players. Once the Game is over, he will commonly revert back, and the game will as well, though the consequences remain.
Weaknesses: Milton, as stated before, doesn't have a current purpose in life now that he's reached the mainland, his family and friends having been drowned or killed by themselves. He's lonely, and so he always tries to be sociable, even if it isn't the right scenario. However, if someone tells him outright that they don't like him, and means it, he'll likely back off.

Hobbies:
  • Other kinds of photography. Something unrelated to his Reward that still brings him joy, well, brings him joy. These include landscapes, portraits, etc.

Looking through time, YHVH noticed the 21st Century held the pinnacle of distraction entertainment and so He browsed the height and depth of humanity's passion for escaping its problems rather than dealing with them. Naturally, YHVH found the Isekai genre and found the premise intriguing.

Which is how YHVH became Goldmoon of the Que Shu Tribe, in the Dragonlance setting. After journeying with the Heroes of the Lance, she settled down with her husband, had children and indulged in the domestic life while balancing her responsibilities as the High Cleric of Mishakal. Around the time Goldmoon decided she'd had enough playing Sim Fantasy, the Gods of Krynn tasked her with averting an impeding War of Souls by projecting herself through their divine power into another dimension where she could bring back the means to defeat Takhisis' meddling.

Which is how Goldmoon sent her consciousness through the Planes, settling on Alpha Set Niner, a Planet Engineer in the Federated Tribes of the Mutter's Spiral. In order to prevent the War of Souls on Krynn, he needed to create a world where Takhisis could triumph while leaving the original timeline undisturbed. So Alpha Set Niner worked with his three husbands to build a virtual simulation of Krynn. Just as he began to compile the final build, though, a malicious hacker corrupted the compiler and Alpha Set Niner found he'd instead created a planet crudely modeled after Earth, but with bizarre, conflicting setting elements. In order to identify the malicious code and assess the damage, he had to load himself into the simulation.

Which is how Alpha Set Niner became [Redacted]. She found herself in a world beset with a pandemic, the rise of fascism, environmental disasters and a genuinely unbelievable American president. The malicious code had obviously ruined this simulated world with incoherent tropes. Thankfully, [Redacted] realized that the damaged narrative would represent itself most purely in how this simulation's emulation of the human mind created stories. So she chose a roleplay site called RPNation, befriended a number of the roleplayers on the site and waited until one person created the most archetypal RP possible in this simulation's narrative engine. When a member named Birdsie created The Wheel Turns Once More, she knew she'd found that RP.

Leading her to create Clarissa Rhimes, a fashionable South African Genre-Bender who'd studied in the Monastary of Vereeniging to master the art of imposing her will upon creation. By this point, Clarissa had frankly lost track of exactly who she really was or what her motives were but found the prospect of working with a group of misfits in Bend, Oregon to be sufficient motivation to get out of bed in the morning. Hopefully this time she'd actually find a cute girl to date instead of becoming invariably heterosexual.

PHYSICAL
Appearance
: Clarissa is a tall, immaculately well groomed and dressed African woman. Her manner is professional, composed, polite, and always controlled. She smiles as a strategy rather than as a method for genuinely conveying human emotion since she's not even sure she has them anymore. Her voice is low, sultry and has a charming Afrikaans accent when she's not concentrating on being articulate.

Weapons & Armor: She wields a 9mm pistol, usually, but is capable of Genre-Bending the weapon into a sword, a nuclear-powered chainsaw, a MIRV or whatever the situation requires. Clarissa also bears a small wooden handle that, when invoked, transforms into a blue crystal staff that is capable of healing injuries/diseases and smiting evil.

Items & Personal Belongings: A carry-on suitcase that usually holds clothes, toiletries, and other essentials but has been known to have other things, depending on what genre Clarissa is presently in. She also has a holographic tattoo on her left arm that she can extend into a display that lets her perform futuristic activities like scanning objects for identification/danger, hacking security doors, manipulating camera feeds, etc.

• It's unknown what YHWH can do if He decides He's had enough of this and flips the table.​

Weaknesses: Clarissa has a hard time distinguishing between fantasy and reality, largely because of how many iterations deep she is. She also displays limited curiosity only in what interests her and largely doesn't take the world or the setting seriously, which can cause her to fail to follow up on a clue or threat if she finds it boring. Clarissa also didn't bother to create a backstory longer than a sentence in this setting, meaning she doesn't have a family or real education or any actual tie with this world, depriving her of valuable relationships and bonds people can usually draw upon.

Personality: A man plagued by the most negative things in his life, Nathan Klaus is a follower of El Shiggurath and it shows. Nervous and plagued by thoughts not his own, Nathan has not adjusted to El Shiggurath's near-constant presence very well. He sorta hates himself and his decisions to be entirely honest.
Well mannered yet also a bit coarse, Nathan aims for his goal and will deal with each obstacle in its order efficiently and methodically until it's done. His efficiency comes from his paranoia, his anxiety making it so he never leaves a loose end, believing if he does, it will come back to haunt him. Despite his mistrust and paranoia, Nathan finds human interaction easy and almost pleasant as any normal person is a far cry from the warped minions of the warped god he serves. He's experienced so much that would break a lesser man that he now considers his own imagination the source of his greatest fears.

Despite all his many issues and detractors, Nathan has a good sense of humor, a pleasant face and a sharp intellect which only makes his numerous flaws even more pronounced. Self-improvement is something he strives for yet finds increasingly difficult. Perhaps his new companions will help him with this issue. Or perhaps they will push him further into the depths of his fear.

History: Born to poor parents in a poor city, Nathan has struggled for most of his life. His parents died early on in his life and left Nathan with but one gift; The gift of comedy. The cult wasn't very good at its cultish endeavors however and ended up simply traumatizing Nathan. Well, traumatizing him and awakening a connection with an ancient powerful Cult weapon known as The Burning axe of Cee Fore; An exploding two-handed throwing axe that always reappears upon the wielder's person. 10 years later and Nathan was a full-blown cultist without a cult, as the lessons they'd taught about not trusting anyone had stuck quite well with the lad; He'd turned them over to the local authorities the moment he saw a good chance to do so. Even if the cult had taken him in, they'd still brainwashed and tortured the poor boy and he did NOT forget that as he grew older.
Once the cult was effectively dismantled, the cultist began to wander the lands dismantling institutions hed consider as "bad" in his own judgment. He didn't know if itd been the voice in the back of his head or his own twisted desire pushing him to these actions but he did know that he had to keep moving, forward and onward, with the same attitude as his parents, albeit a little more paranoid and violent. Finding Bend, Oregon was probably one of the most important moments in the wanderer's life as he found a community and source of voices whose opinions and desires differed from the dark voice growling from the recesses of his brain. He likes it to be honest.

Nathan is an unknowing instrument of El Shiggurath and often receives aid from the eldritch being when he passively obeys it's voice. This blessing will cause things to turn in Nathan's favor. The penalty of this ability is horrifying nightmares and shapes on the edges of his vision when he becomes drowsy which is most of the time due to the nightmares.

Strengths:
Durability- Nathan is durable, very much so, like freakishly so, like creepily so. Like he's the type to get stabbed 15 times in the chest and throat and walk away chuckling. But eventually, he'd be able to get up and stumble off in search of a healer. As he has done so on multiple occasions. Nathan knows when its time to give in and he definitely knows when its time to play dead.
Intelligence: Nathan is actually quite smart, his paranoia and unreasonableness often obscure that fact however. His intelligence is actually one of his best traits, he just doesn't realize this.

Backstory: An average boy born into a normal Japanese family; anything that happened in his youth is trivial and not worth mentioning. Upon reaching high school Tatsuya— like many of his generation— became disillusioned with reality. The world was rotten, corrupted, evil, selfish, any number of things to justify his lifestyle. So he dropped out of school shut himself off from the world and engaged in escapism to validate himself. This went on for two whole years. His parents had already given up on him rather quickly and were content with pretending he didn't exist other than a few deposits into his account every month. At the rate he was going there was seemingly no hope and no chance of improvement. Over time his isolation and frequent forays into entertainment led to hallucinations. He saw things in dark corners that didn't exist, spoke to people who were not there, and imagined his figurines loved him. This led to his greatest delusion which ironically enough ended up becoming true. He thought he was destined for greatness. He believed that if anyone in the world deserved superpowers it was him. So day after day he repeated to himself over and over and over, "If I just had power, if I just had power." Almost like a mantra he recited this hoping one day it would become reality and that all his problems would go away as a result.

Tatsuya woke up one day to find a hole in his ceiling causing light to waft into his room, and in the middle of it a peach tree. It had seemingly grown from the floor and burst through the ceiling any hint to it's origins nonexistent. He panicked and raved at the tree that had disturbed his routine boring life the light from the sky seemingly driving him into a frenzy with its foreign glow. He eventually calmed down and was content to just call the cops to try to deal with the mess, however there was an aroma. A seductive smell that emanated from the peaches of the tree. It smelled like happiness, and fond memories, like love and the homemade meals of a caring mother. In a trance with his mouth watering he made a mad dash for the peaches as they seemingly promised everything he had ever wanted. He tore into them and tasted a sweetness he had never tasted before. Unbeknownst to him this was a Divine Peach Tree normally residing in the heavenly realms spoken of in Chinese mythology. Through some mad cosmic twist of fate Tatsuya had conceptually taken on the role of Sun Wukong and as far as the universe and causality was concerned he WAS Sun Wukong. However, as he was he could no longer be allowed to exist in his own world as not even the Peach Tree was meant to be there; it stemmed from some horrible reality where the supernatural manifested and overrun the planet. He was forcefully expelled from all he knew into a world that "needed" his existence. I think you know where this is going.

He's been here for the better part of a week. A long hellish week of confusion, pain and discovery. Tatsuya would be dead several times over if not for his new circumstances. Trapped in a crumbled world in an America so different than the one he knew of. Homeless, and dirty he finally receives direction in the form of an offer to come to Bend Oregon. In the hopes of receiving answers and purpose in this insane place.

Weaknesses: Tatsuya is an overly timid and nervous individual, who will more often than not remain silent when spoken to unless directly confronted and will then be unable to keep eye contact with anyone. He suffers from terribly low self-esteem and often insults himself and his own lifestyle though he makes no steps to improve either. If anything he has now become a danger to others as well as himself. He has little to no combat experience and can barely throw a punch to save his life. Even with his ascent as Sun Wukong this doesn't change his lack of experience. While he may have been given great power it is still far less than the true Sun Wukong in his prime and any hope of reaching him can only be done by either retracing his steps or carving his own path to greater power. For the moment though he little more than a super powered NEET.
