The Vostroyan Worldship

Death Korps of Krieg

Keeper of the Ruins

latest

Official Name: The Vostroyan Worldship
Demonym: Vostroyans
Government Type: Council
Leader(s): Grand Councilor Ulthamesh Shelwe

Galaxy: Andromeda
Territory: Currently somewhere in the western spur
Number of Systems: A single 650 kilometer long worldship, named the Undying Light.
Influence Level: 0

Capital World: None
Population by Race: 215 million Vostroyans, mutated humans.

Technology Rank: 8.2
FTL Travel: Warp Drive
Technological Development Focus: Balanced
Exceptional Technologies:

Wave Motion Cannon - The wave motion cannon is powered by the same energy of the warp drive, and fires a high intensity beam of warp energy towards an enemy fleet. The beam explodes, unleashing a powerful storm of smaller beams that can thoroughly wipe out a small flotilla of ships without shields, and deal enormous damage to those with shields. The downside of the weapon is that deprives the battleship thats using it of warp energy, which prevents it from using FTL travel. It is also more or less useless against gigantic multikilometer ships.

The Vostroyan Titans - Massive, hulking walkers that stand at a terrifying 120 meters high. Each is packed with enough firepower to subjugate a city, and can destroy several divisions on its own before being overwhelmed. Their weakness is that they are vulnerable to cyberattack, have very limited numbers, and are difficult to deploy.

Culture: The Vostroyans have a highly martial culture, as the universe is cruel and their end may come any time. By the use of intensive genetic engineering, the Vostroyans have become exceptionally long lived for humans, living an average of 450 years. New generations of Vostroyans, however, are few and far between, and they try their best to preserve their numbers.
Government: The entire worldship is governed by a single council - The High Lords of Vostroya. The Grand Council is charged with overseeing the worldship's affairs, and has 12 members, led by the Grand Councilor, Ulthamesh Shelwe. The other members are the heads of the major branches of the organizations within the Undying Light -

- Master Astropath of the Astronicamas - Psychic watchers of the worldship

- Grand Admiral of the Starfleet

- Grand Techmaster of the Mechanicus - The science department of Vostroya

- Warlord of the Guardians

- Chief Navigator of the Navus Nobilite

- Grandmaster of the Watchers - The vanguard ships that scout ahead of the Undying Light

- Guildmaster of the Trade Guilds of Vostroya

- Archbishop of the Churches of Vostroya(yes, they are around)

- Grand Apothecary of the Medicus Nobilite

- General of the Arbites(police...force)
Military: The Vostroyan military is divided into 3 parts - The Guardians(Those that operate the Undying Light's defenses), The Starfleet, and the Vostroyan Firstborn.

The Guardians are composed of the soldiers that protect the Undying Light from within, as well as the crews that pilot the worldship's anti-ship cannons.

They number at 500,000 personnel.

The Star Fleet is composed of nearly 20,000 warships that operate under the Undying Light's banner. Their ships are divded into 4 types - Escorts, Cruisers, Battleships, and Carriers.

Escort -

Pulsar Class Destroyer

250

Most notable for its simplicity, it has a deadly Pulsar Lance, highly efficient stellar drives, and nothing else. The Pulsar crushes single targets with a single deadly blow from its pulsar lance, ripping them from their base atoms. As its Pulsar Lance and stellar drives draw so much energy, its crew are usually little more than skeleton crews that fire the gun and pilot the ship. They are incapable of repelling boarding actions... if the foe can get near enough.

Terror Class Destroyer

250

True to its name, the Terror Class is a terrifying prospect indeed. While indeed smaller than the destroyers of other races, it is by no means weaker. Armed with a wave motion cannon and a hundred side batteries, the Terror is fully capable of destroying enemy ships larger than itself.

Nightfury Class Frigate

Cruiser Classes -

Blackveil Class Cruiser -

250

Arguably the most effective attack cruiser of the Vostroyan Starfleet, the Blackveil is the bane of the shipping of any starfaring empire. True to its name, the Blackveil strikes from the shadows and retreats before the foe can strike back.

Stardeath Heavy Cruiser-

250

The Stardeath is a notorious starship that is capable of outrunning even the swiftest escorts of other races. IT combines firepower, high amounts of manoeuvrability, and tremendous speed into a single terrifying package.

Battleship Classes-

Brightstar Class -

250

The pinnacle of Vostroyan Starship technology, the Brightstar is a rare, prized, and dangerous battleship that easily obliterates lesser ships with its superior weaponry. The Brightstar is highly manoeuverable for a battleship, and are more than a match for the larger battleships of other races with its speed, holo-fields, pulsar cannons, wave motion gun, and hundreds of kinetic and laser batteries.

History: The Vostroyans are humans that have mutated from the conditions of their environment; in their case, they have adapted to generations of living within starships. As a result, they have hollow bones, are remarkably light footed and agile, and even momentary medium levels of gravity can result on injury. The Vostroyans are part of one of the latter colonization missions to Andromeda(sometime after the Long Night), one of which went awry. Their jump drives malfunctioned in the middle of their jump, forcing them to use sublight travel. As it would take nearly 200 years for them to reach to their destination, the fleet's denizens went into cryostasis. Once they did, they awakened and colonized their chosen colony - a low gravity planet with high mountains and deep oceans. Here, they lived in isolation from the rest of human civilization, until Vostroyan miners uncovered a data slate from some unknown ancient alien civilization. The slate contained symmetrics for a warp drive and a wave motion engine, which allowed the Vostroyans to build an interstellar fleet of larger proportions, as well as building a single worldship in Vostroya's moon, Helios. The Vostroyans, however, were not interested in colonizing other worlds or conquest. They preferred to watch as others bickered and killed each over trivial matters. They watched as the First Intergalactic War went by, unmoved. But one day, a massive alien fleet approached Vostroya. Vostroya's forces managed to destroy it, but at great cost, sacrificing nearly 60% of itself as well as the deaths of 88% of the population of Vostroya. In the face of terrible odds, the leaders that survived decided to activate the Undying Light, the worldship they built in Helios. The remnants of the fleet transported the remaining population to the Undying Light, which them took off from the ruined system of Vostroya, never to return.

For nearly 2 decades, the Undying Light drifted through space, occasionally stopping in asteroid belts to harvest resources. But then, the greatest threat the Vostroyans ever faced came: The Invaders. Luckily, it wasn't a full-fledged fleet; a splinter that strayed while the rest of the Invaders focused upon Terra Nova. But still, it was an Invader fleet, and the Vostroyans only knew of them as the terrors that wreaked havoc wherever they went. The Vostroyans and the splinter Invader fleet fought. The Undying Light's defences took down thousands of Invader ships, but hell was unleashed when an Invader detachment penetrated the worldship's shielding and an Invader ground force boarded. Vostroyan warriors and Invaders fought in hand-to-hand combat as more Invader ships penetrated the worldship's defences. The Vostroyans suffered heavily in the 3 month battle. The Invader fleet outside was extinguished as the Undying Light's cannons brought them low one by one, as they were not numerous enough to defeat the worldship on their own, but inside, millions upon millions of bodies fell as the Invader ground force, isolated and with nothing to lose, viciously destroyed the worldship's cities. Only when Vostroyan frigates managed to enter the battlefield through the worldship's ancient workings did the tide turn, raining down hellfire to the landers. But nearly half of the population was killed in the process, as few were trained in the arts of war. The Vostroyans, desperate to reinforce their battered ranks, turned to another secret the alien data slate that they have found centuries earlier contained - Highly advanced artificial intelligence; AI sophisticated enough to fight their wars for them. No Vostroyan needed to fall in battle. For beginning that day, the Vostroyans fielded legions of powerful war constructs, smashing what few foes they had with utmost cruelty. Another thing they did was to genetically modify certain individuals to have telepathic powers that allowed more efficient communications within the worldship as well as having access to every intricacy within the worldship's systems. These individuals became known as Astropaths, and are tasked with alerting the Guardians in the case of any unseen alien incursion or rebellion within the worldship. Trully, none within the Undying Light can hide from the Astropaths's view.

Goals and Hooks: Survive in a hostile universe.

Misc. Notes - To sum them up, the Vostroyans are mutated humans that live within a single worldship, and rely completely on AI constructs to fight their battles for them.

Race Name: Vostroyans

Homeworld: Vostroya

Lifespan: 450 years

Reproduction: Sexual

Incubation - 9 months

Infancy - 9 months - 18 months

Childhood - 2 years to 13

Youth - 13 to 21

Adult - 21 - 450

Physiology: As mutant humans, they are visibly taller, more slender, and seemingly frailer(but they aren't) than baseline humans. Other than that, they are basically the same as humans.

Psychology: The Vostroyans are strangely pragmatic, and without a doubt, are wiser than their unmutated counterparts. The Vostroyans view the universe as one and the same - cruel and uncaring. In addition, they give no damns if other races are affected negatively by their actions, as their survival matters more than the lives of a few members of a race that can just replace the losses in a matter of months.

Notes: A few exceptional individuals within the race have been genetically modified to have powerful telepathic powers, which allows them to control the entire worldship's functions. These individuals are known as Astropaths. They constitute less than 1 percent of the population.

Nothing jumps out as really red flag worthy. The only thing is that if you could lower the lifespan down to say, 450 instead of 650, that would be great. Simply because 650 is a huge number. Otherwise, the app looks pretty good.
