Ravi is a lot more than he seems. Growing up, he wasn’t allowed to be himself. Once he finally came to accept who he was (and his sexual orientation), he went from a kid who was afraid of expressing themselves to a person who had zero fear of judgement. Because of this, he has a tendency to tease and poke everyone (a trait he shares with his adoptive mother), yet it’s done for the sole purpose of having fun. This is primarily something you see with other males of all races; he likes to jest that he wants to sleep with all of them, but the truth is, he doesn’t. He’s simply trying to have his own fun. That being said, if another male gave the okay, he’d jump on the opportunity.
He might appear to be all about sex and taking things up his ass, but a lot of this is defensive as well. He didn’t really have a lot of friends growing up and has no idea how to make them now, not to mention he’s afraid of commitment. His jokes about sex are, 90% of the time, just that - a joke.

Ravi got kicked out of his house because he couldn't "continue the family name," and while being out on the road, he met Navalli. After being sassed by the vampire, he convinced her to let him stick around with her for a while. "A while" turned into years and next thing you know, he's calling her mom and she's pulling out her hair in frustration.
And later, when he gets himself into trouble, she changes him into a vampire.
