Whenever Jayla said that she wished truck-kun would take her from the cruel world she lived in, she did not mean literally! She remembered simply going out with some friends and had crossed the street while talking with one of them. Then, their light suddenly changed from go to stop, and the sudden empty street had a singular speeding truck that was heading right towards them. Without a second thought, Jayla pushed her friend out of they way and white filled her vision.

The next thing she knew: she woke up.

She had woken up in a bedroom that definitely wasn't hers. With a face that definitely wasn't hers! Wait a minute....this face looked familiar. She stood up and walked over to the nearby vanity and stared into it, eyes widened at the reflection that stared back at her. This wasn't her. This was Josephine Lauren Strelitz! One of the antagonists of Sonnett of the Twilight Kingdom of Hearts! Now, normally Jayla wouldn't play anything romance generated. Especially an Otome game! But one of her friends suggested it to her since the main protagonist was a plus sized woman of color. How could she say no?

The game started with the background of the main kingdom of focus: the Edessa Empire. One of the main empires in this world. And one of the second of wealth if memory served her right. The kingdom, while the second most wealthy and had strong military, often had trouble keeping such status from other empires. Jayla remembered there being possibly a few battles going on during the game, but they weren't important to the main character, so there wasn't much to do. But she did remember plenty of things: the battles on screen, the dealings, the antagonists, the status of the main character, and the harem.

Katherine Addison Strelitz was the protagonist of the game, and this the main attention of everyone around her. Having a twin brother, the two were raised by their parents to be the heirs of the Strelitz estate. Meaning the overseeing the tradings and the trading of silks and cloth that went through their family. Katherine was a strong headed yet kind woman who went into her work with the goal of making sure everything worked for their family. She knew that even with their rich standing, she knew that it could go away with all of the fighting that's been going on. It wasn't a surprise on how she captured the harems attention. And then there was her sister: Josephine.

Josephine was younger by her sister and brother by two years, but even that was enough to make the distance between them. Yes, Josephine was given the proper teachings and attention from her parents, but she knew that with the twins born, they had succeeded in heirs to take up both titles from their parents if need be, leaving her with nothing. There wasn't much about her other than her antagonising her sister since they were young and trying to gain the attention of the harem, but she did remember the musings of Katherine. Of how Josephine often starved herself or wore smaller clothes in order to look thinner and capture the attention of a suitor.

The poor girl. Jayla-no Josephine sighed. She really did have so much potential. To see it all go to waste in order to get attention of her family.

"Don't worry, I'll take good care of us from now on." She murmured, gently brushing a hand over the mirror before a hand startling herself from her thoughts as a knock interrupted her thoughts.

"My lady? Are you awake? It's time to get ready for the royal celebration." A feminine voice, a maid no doubt, called out from the other side of the door.

Celebration? Oh! The royal celebration! That meant she wasn't that too far from the first chapter. The royal celebration was when the royal guards were welcomed back from the last war against a warring empire. It was also where Katherine met three of the harem members: the prince, the royal knight, and the friend of the royal knight. Jayla would admit that she played those routes before, but out of those current ones, she was interested in the royal knights route the first.

"Yes! I'm ready!" Josephine called out, the maid soon walking in with two more to get her ready.

That that's how she ended up in the carriage with her family, wearing one of the dresses that fit her figure better than Josephine's other clothing and her hair done in a formal fashion. As she rode in the carriage, gazing out the beautiful scenery, she mused of all of the things she had to change about Josephine. One of them being her wardrobe and diet. Even if she did eat breakfast, she could still feel her body aching for more after years of being starved from a proper meal.

She also noticed the looks her family members gave her. Josephine usually greeted them with respect except for Katherine. But when she greeted them all in respectful terms, wore more fitting clothes, and seemed happy to be in their presence, they all seemed to notice something was off with Josephine one way or another.

Oh well, she could deal with all for that later. But for now, she wanted to see the ball!!

The long war had finally been won by Alaric though upon his return he did not went straight to his family home but instead he had visited the fallen knight’s family and gave them the news himself. Normally the General, would lock himself up inside his family home only going out of the Albetre mansion when he would go horseback riding or train in his family’s garden.

Currently the male was invited to attend a royal ball that the King had planned to celebrate for the victory of the Edessa Empire. Alaric was dressed in a fitted suit that the General dislikes due to how fitting the clothing is, he would rather prefer wearing a bit of a loose clothing but he doesn’t really have a choice. He was wearing black suit with golden and red accents with a cape that stops just below the back of his knee, his sword rests on the left side of his hip. His black locks that was normally tousled due to the air was slicked back clearly showing his face that many had said to rival the looks of the prince.

Walking down the step he saw his family members waiting for him. “ I am sorry for making everyone wait, but you should have went ahead “ Alaric said as he looked at his mother who was holding his father’s arms while his little sister was fanning herself. “ You rarely attend an event big brother and mother and father wanted all of us to arrive together like how we have done it before “ Emelisse said as their mother could only let out a sorry smile. Though this didn’t irk the male and Alaric took a deep breath “ well shall we keep going then? “ Alaric said as his father went to his side, Oriana in tow and pat’s his shoulder.

On their way to the castle Alaric rode his horse midnight a black percheron that has a white area on its forehead that took the shape of a diamond. Upon their arrival, he got off the percheron and handed the reins of his horse to the attended so that midnight would be put in the royal stables. The outside of the castle was grand, even in the night it shined but this was mostly due to the lights that decorated the outside of the castle.

As the doors open you can immediately hear the music that musicians are playing and it was a jolly tune. One that shows no worries, the Albetre family made their way to the ballroom where the event was held and as soon as the doors opened to the ballroom the music boomed loudly as chatters from people echoed through the room. His sister went to greet her friends while his parents mingled to meet with business partners or catch up with their own family and friends. “ Ah, the hero of Edessa has arrived “ says a voice that Alaric knew well. “ Stop with the foolishness “ the male countered as Vlastimir heaved a sigh “ Geez, where was the young lad who knows how to take a joke “ the red haired male said with a chuckle.

Not a moment before his family arrived that the door opened again to reveal the Strelitz family walking. Everyone knew each family member but one that stands out the most was the oldest daughter of the family. Though that is simply because of the female’s characteristics “ I see that the general has someone in mind “ Vlastimir said well whispered and the red-headed received a smack on his head. An ow left the Lieutenant’s lips as Alaric replied with “ Love is something that can be a hindrance and not to mention a possible anchor that the enemy may take advantage of.” A sigh left his friend’s lips while rubbing the spot where Alaric had hit him, “ really now? “ was what he only replied.

Brown eyes eagerly examined every inch of both the exterior and interior of the castle the moment Josephine stepped out of the carriage with her family. It was beautiful! Viewing the castle through the eyes of the game held no comparison to seeing it in real life! And to think that she was actually going to a ball! And she would be able to see Katherine meeting the male leads in first person, bonus!

Following her family inside the castle, Josephine looked around at all of the eyes that focused on them upon entry. Yes, the Strelitz family was wealthy and popular, but she knew that the main focus were on Katherine. At the age of twenty-one, she and Nicolas were both the perfect example of any heir or heiress should be in the eyes of nobility. Academic, strong willed, and charming. They really did have it all. It was a surprise that neither of them had any marriage contracts going on. But she supposed that was due to the plot of the game.

Looking around, Josephine was surprised by the amount of people there. Dressed in beautiful clothing from head to toe, mingling with other nobles or on the dance floor to the upbeat music that was played by the live orchestra. All of it was truly lovely!

"Now, be all on your best behavior," their father, Isaac spoke to them. "this is meant to welcome back the knights from a long fought war, and the last thing that we want to do is embarrass ourselves in front of them and the royal family."

Josephine and Katherine both nodded while Nicolas gave a short nod and bow. "Yes, father." The children chorused. That was enough before the family broke off. Their parents no doubt going to talk to some colleagues and partners of theirs while Katherine and Nicolas walked over to possible friends or acquaintances they had. Which left one question: What was Josephine to do?

Looking around, the young brunette shrugged her shoulders and made her way off to the side. Perhaps she could simply sit and enjoy the music for a few moments. She had a few before Katherine interacted with the male leads, and she didn't want to miss that. Where was the food around here?

Despite wanting to lay down and rest, Alaric was " forced " to talk with a couple of the females that had gathered around him and his dear friend while Vlastimir was eating up all the attention. Alaric was well a bit annoyed especially with all of the questions that was being repeated, " well, we are sure that the Knights wouldn't be easily taken down due to General Albetré " one female with black eyes commented as Alaric could only respond with " it is not only because of me, my lady but for the cooperation that the other knights had put in and their willingness to risk their own lives for our kingdom and its people " with his reply he felt a pat on the shoulder by his friend. " How can you be cool and cold at the same time? " The male said as Alaric nudged him with his elbow.

The ball went on as everyone mingled around after all the guests had arrived. An attendant announced the arrival of the crowned prince as well as the king which stopped everyone from their tracks. The huge doors that sat on top of a wide, white marble staircase opened to reveal the king wearing a blue suit with touches of gold while the crown prince wore white with a touch of gold. Even to nobles the royal family was an expensive bunch, " ah! Alaric " the king said as soon as the old man was down the stairs and greeted him with a smile.

" Your highness" he greeted back, coupled with a bow as a sign of respect. " Are you and the other knights enjoying the ball? " The ruler of the kingdom asked as Alaric nodded his head " of course your highness, the knights and I are grateful that we gave us the opportunity to relax and socialize after winning the war. It is a great reward, " Alaric answered with a small smile that he always shows whenever talking to any member of the royal family.

After a couple more conversations with the king. Alaric had excused himself so that he could get some refreshments, walking to the table that showed the different food that was laid out beautifully for everyone to feast on. Alaric only grabbed something to drink and ate some deviled eggs, though he was surprised to see the youngest daughter of the Strelitz family by the food table.

Mainly because he had heard rumors from some of the knights that had always talked about any gossip during their free time or in the past. He himself doesn't have that much of an interaction with the family other than talking with the lady of the house or their father.

The ball was beautiful from Josephine's standpoint. Watching everyone dance and interact with each other was interesting enough. She talked to a few of the younger nobles as she stood off to the side, but it was only in passing. Her main focus was taking everything in and simply enjoying the ball in the meantime.

When the king and prince arrived, Josephine had to blink as not to blind herself by the expensive clothing that the royals wear. Their presence was blinding enough, the clothes seemed to add a whole other layer of blinding. But still, to see the royal prince, one of the love interests, in person was an exhilarating thing. Glancing over to where Katherine was talking with many females that seemed enamored with her every word. Some of the surrounding men did as well. Even if all of the male leads haven't been introduced yet, she wondered which route Katherine would be going in this life. Well, it would be interesting to watch either way!

Satisfied with the people watching she did so far, Josephine walked over to the food table and got herself a drink as well as a small plate of deviled eggs. Even if her body was craving for more, simply stuffing her would put her back at square one. Taking small bites at a time, Josephine hummed at the taste, a blissful smile on her lips. The food tasted better than expected.

Glancing at the corner of her eye, Josephine froze at the sight of who was on the other side of her. That was General Alaric Albetré! One of the main leads! She definitely didn't expect to get to close to one so quickly, especially if they weren't with Katherine. Looking around, she noticed that her sister was still talking with her friends, making her curious. Odd, if it served her right, the Alaric route started with the general asking Katherine's hand for the next slow dance. And based on the music, she doubted that would be much longer. Does that mean that this wasn't the route Katherine was going to do? What now?

Slowly turning away from the general, Josephine ate at a slightly faster pace, hoping to finish her food and leave before anything else happened.

The ball was getting livelier by the second, Alaric had noticed that the female from earlier was Josephine the youngest daughter of the Strelitz. The young female was pretty just like Katherine but there is something else that Josephine holds that makes her different from her oldest sister, what it might be it was a mystery even to him.

Alaric decided to mingle around a bit more and found himself in a circle that surrounds Katherine. Amongst the males and females he was the only one who stood straight without even smiling at what the female had said. Mainly because he couldn't relate that much to the topic? Or it doesn't interest him that much.

Soon the orchestra had played a song and soon people were asking others to dance. Of course Vlastimir asked Katherine if he could dance with her. To which the female nodded her head, Alaric stood in the side, a glass of wine in hand, he wasn't really much of a dancer himself though that doesn't mean that he's bad at it.

" My Lord, why don't you ask a young lady to dance with? " Asked Derek his squire and truth be told Alaric was surprised with how Derek suddenly appeared beside him. " I know you'll say, dancing is a waste of time Derek, but why don't you just enjoy " the younger male said as Alaric sighed. This was one of the bad sides of having a squire who's with you 24/7.

" If asking someone to dance will stop you from pestering me during training. I'll do it for my peace" Alaric said as Derek playfully rolled his eyes. Alaric's eyes scanned through the room and spotted Josephine, ' why not ask the youngest child ' he thought to himself and hence why he was currently making his way towards Josephine. His left hand behind his back and his right hand outstretched for her to take. " Would you like to dance to Lady Josephine? " Alaric asked as he was bowed a bit.

Ah, there it is! The General was standing over in Katherine's circle! No doubt he would soon be interested in her charm and would ask her to dance! Oh, it looks like this time was the General route! How exciting!

With a happy hum, Josephine watched as everyone began pairing up for a dance and decided that standing off to a side and simply watching everyone dance would be for the best. Maybe she could even get a taste of the cake at the food table that they had out. It looked really delicious!

But before she could make another move towards the designated table in mind, she came to a stop when she caught sight of the General once more. Huh, that was strange. It looked like he was walking.....towards...her. Brown eyes stared wide eyed at the sight of her General standing-no, bowing in front of her, asking for her to dance! But what about Katherine! Quickly glancing around the ballroom, her eyes widened at the sight of Katherine dancing with Vlastimir! Even Nicolas was off on the dancefloor with some unknown noble girl she couldn't make out at the moment.

Focusing down at the General once more, she gripped her dress anxiously as she thought of what she could do. She didn't expect to get the attention of anyone during the ceremony. She wanted to simply watch the protagonist and male leads in action before going home! But now, she couldn't possibly deny the General Knight in such a public place.

Grasping the ends of her dress, Josephine curtsied towards the General, head bowed in return as she spoke. "It would be my honor, General Albetré." She responded in return, placing her hand in his so that he could lead her to the dancefloor.

As he felt Josephine hand on top of his, Alaric then held her hand gently as he led her to the dance floor. As they went to the middle of the room, Alaric's free hand held Josephine's waist as he let the music take over.

The music was extravagant though he may have had little to no conversation with the young lady of the Strelitz household; it didn't stop him from looking into Josephine's eyes. The female's eyes had reminded him of mountain terrains and nature.

Alaric twirled Josephine gently and danced with her until the music stopped. Claps from all directions were heard and Alaric bowed his head towards Josephine and showed a small smile. " I was not aware that Lady Josephine is a great dancer " he complimented her as he walked her towards where she was standing earlier.

" It seems that the Strelitz couple had given birth to rather talented children, " he said as a conversation starter. One fact about Alaric was that he isn't great at starting conversations, especially with people he only knew from the stories and their deeds.

Following him into the dance floor, Josephine reached up to place her free hand onto his shoulder as they danced to the music. As they dance, she altered between shyly looking up at Alaric or glancing around the ballroom for the sight of her family. She didn't expect to dance with the General! And she doubted Josephine danced with anyone before, so that was something else to look out for.

Still, the young brunette allowed herself to be twirled, finishing off the dance once the music ended. With a short curtsy towards him, Josephine looked up at him with flushed cheeks. "W-well, dancing is a fun activity. I simply just don't do it often." She quickly replied, following him off of the dance floor as the next song began.

She was surprised when he stayed, even more when he tried to start a conversation with her. Did something happen? She doubted that she did anything to catch his attention, so what brought this on?

"Of course," Josephine answered. "Mother and father have done their best to raise us to honor the Strelitz name in all means. I'm glad to have them as my parents." Smiling up at the General, the brunette tilted her head to the side.

"How is the ball in your opinion, General Albetré? To have such a ball in honor of you and the knights must be a joyous occasion."

“ It disturbs the knights from the harsh reality, and it’s a pleasure to see such genuine smiles on their faces as well as them letting themselves enjoy '' he answered. “ The ball is rather too extravagant for my taste “ he replied without thinking twice while he was thankful that the king had hosted a ball in honor of the knights but the male never really enjoyed such parties.

“ Are you currently enjoying the party? Alaric asked though before the conversation could go deeper he saw Vlastimir head his way with Katherine in tow. Of course as courtesy Alaric bowed as a greeting towards the female. “ Lady Katherine, it has been a while, '' he greeted the older Strelitz sibling. “ Ah, Young Lady Josephine is here as well, I see that beauty runs in the family blood, '' Vlastimir commented.

The orchestra played another symphony as people started to flood the floor again. This time Vlastimir asked Josephine to dance which led Alaric with the oldest female child. Though this might seem like it’s their first time meeting it actually wasn’t the two had met when they were children though he had often spent time with her brother.

If he would think about it, he rarely had a memory that includes Josephine; he could only remember her when she became a teenager, which wasn’t a long time ago. Shaking his head the male turned towards Katherine his left hand outstretched towards Katherine “ Shall we dance, my lady? “ he asked and when Katherine accepted his hand the male yet again went to the floor to dance.

Josephine hummed at his answer. It probably was a nice change of pace from the nights. The game didn't go into much detail about any of the wars or battles, but she had a feeling they could be bad as just as any world she heard about her past life. Hearing it is too extravagant for his taste, Josephine bit her lip to hold back a small chuckle at his bluntness. Straight to the point. It was a refreshing personality that she hadn't seen in a long time.

She was only able to nod before both Katherine and Vlastimir made their way towards the two. "Good day, General Albetré." Katherine replied, with a smile that seemed to recognize Alaric with more than simple passing. Did they know Alaric before? Oh, of course! While he wasn't exactly a childhood friend, Alaric did meet Katherine when they were younger through Nicolas! He was one of the male leads that she had history with! Ugh, that felt like a kick in the face.

Suddenly blushing at the compliment, Josephine shyly glanced away. "Y-you're too kind, Lieutenant Crelles." She said softly, surprising her sister by such an action if the slight widening of her eyes were anything to say about it.

As the music started up again, she was surprised by Vlastimir asking her to dance this time. With a shy nod and reaching out for his hand, she was once again led out to the dance floor.

Katherine watched as her younger sister was lead to the dancefloor, turning to Alaric with a smile and a nod. "It'd be my pleasure, General." SHe said, taking his hand and being led onto the dance floor once more.

Leading Katherine to the floor the male, like what he did with Josephine placed his free hand on the female’s waist then the two had glided down the floor. “ It seems that the center of attention is once again on you, Katherine “ he said though it’s rather easy for him to strike a conversation for the male since they are the same age and could engage in conversation most would find hard to be a part of.

Though Alaric wouldn’t deny that the female is attractive hence his hidden way of befriending her in hopes to woo her heart. Though during their growth rivals had started to gather around and slowly he could only see her as a friend, “ it seems that you have collected yourself some possible suitors “ Alaric added as he twirled Katherine around.

Everyone was whispering around them though this was common, even when Katherine and Vlastimir was dancing earlier whispers had always flooded the room, it seems that the local citizens were betting which noble Lady Katherine would end up with.

Slowly the floor started to get crowded due to other guests wanting to dance as well and when the song stopped Alaric met with Vlastimir and Josephine. “ Well, isn’t this quite refreshing “ Vlastimir said with his joyful grin as Alaric crossed his arms in front of his chest, “ well events like this are one of your specialty Crelles “ Alaric replied as Vlastimir looked at Josephine then Katherine. “ Did you ever miss his cheerful side as a child? “ the male asked as Alaric could only roll his eyes.

“ Don’t we ever get a challenge called life? “ Alaric rebutted as Vlastimir playfully glared at him. “ When will you calm down man? “ the red-headed male replied, “ could you believe that this person is the second in command when it comes to the safety of the people and the kingdom? “ Alaric said with a bit of a mocking tone as Vlastimir placed a hand over his heart acting hurt. “ Oh how dare you aim for my weakest point “

Placing her hand onto his shoulder, Katherine easily followed his lead as the two of them danced in the middle of the dance floor. "Yes, I suppose it is." She replied easily, glancing over to see some of the whispering faces that watched them.

Hearing his words, the heiress nodded her head. "Yes, possible suitors. I haven't really thought of who I'm interested as of yet. And very few of them have caught my eye." She replied before smiling softly at Alaric. "I'm not the only one, General. Many noble ladies have been eyeing you and the nights upon entry. Have you not seen a lady that caught you eye yet?" She asked.

As the floors got more crowded, Katherine followed Alaric to meet with Vlastimir and Josephine. Seemed the two seemed to have the same idea as they did.

Katherine giggled at the two's bickering. It was a refreshing sight to see after all of these years, despite what has happened. "It's refreshing to see the two of you again. It's been a while since I've seen you two like this." She said with a smile.

Josephine simply stood and watched the scene in awe. It was amazing! Of course, no less was expected from an elegant protagonist such as Katherine, but to see her interact with two male leads at the same time was amazing!

Alaric shook his head from Katherine’s question. Truth be told the male has his eyes on the female that stood in front of him for a long time, it’s not just because of her character but because of who she is as a person. Whether she has any flaws or not.

“ It has been indeed a while given how the other kingdom had put up a fight “ Vlastimir replied “ and because of how hard working our General is “ he added while holding both shoulder’s of Alaric. In other’s eyes they were two adult males who have a weird friendship but in reality the two can be goofy despite having the highest rank in the field.

“ and also I am rather surprised with the change Lady Josephine “ Vlastimir said with a smile “ last time we had seen each other was when we were little “ Vlastimir said as Alaric looked at the female “ oh yes, it was before we enrolled to be knights “ Alaric said as the memory returned. “ How has life been with you Lady Josephine? “ Vlastimir asked ever the conversation starter.

“ Ah, before everything. My sister would like to ask if you two ladies if you would be available to attend the day after tomorrow’s tea party “ Alaric said as Emelisse arrived wearing a blue ballgown and the female’s long black locks was tied into an elegant bun. “ Ah speaking of the devil “ Alaric said as Emelisse waved her hand as a greeting. “ I already asked them if they would like to come for tea the day after tomorrow “ the oldest Albetre informed the youngest as Emelisse smiled and clasped her hands together. “ Oh please, it is not nearly a party it is just a get together with all of our childhood friends and of course Sir Nicolas is also invited “ the younger female said. “ I had also planned it for the reason that we may reminiscence our times when we have nothing to worry about before continuing our duties, “ Emelisse added.

Katherine chuckled and nodded her head. "Of course. We are lucky to have such a hardworking General and Lieutenant serving our kingdom." She said with a soft smile.

Josephine was in awe of her sister. Amazing! So kind and sociable. Just like a main lead should be! By the end of this, the younger brunette was sure that she would have every male lead and more wrapped around her finger and more!

Snapping out of her thoughts, Josephine looked up at Vlastimir surprised by him talking to her.

"It has been many years since we've seen each other," the lady agreed. "both you and Alaric have done well over those years. As for me, I've been fine. Things like my studies and learning the family trade have kept me busy. But being able to see the two of you again definitely made my day better."

Mostly because she was going to watch a good portion of the plot unfold in front of her, but they didn't have to know that.

Both Katherine and Josephine turned as Emelisse approached the group, both brunettes smiling at the woman as they watched the two siblings interact.
"It would be a pleasure to have teach with you, Emelisse. It really has been too long since we've gotten together." Katherine said with a smile.

Josephine smiled at Emelisse and nodded. "Yes. It would be nice to catch up and reminisce." She agreed. Though really, she knew that it would be her sister doing most of the reminiscing with Emelisse. While she was sure Josephine wasn't exactly a spoiled brat, these were Katherine's friends and characters that she was interacting with. Actually, now that she thought about it, did Josephine get invited to the tea party in the game, or did she already change that somehow?

" Ah, perfect! It would be so much fun with everyone gathered " Emelisse said with glee as she clapped her hands in excitement, a habit that the female haven't grown out.

" How long has it been since the three Strelitz siblings had attended a party together " Vlastimir said though Alaric nudged the male's side. One of their ways to tell each other that what they said is something that shouldn't have been said aloud.

" Anyways we do deserve the rest and since each of us had tasks to do. It's also a perfect way to mingle with anyone that you would like " Emelisse said with a quick wiggle of her eyebrows as Alaric placed his hand on Emelisse's head and squeezed it but not to the point where the female would actually get hurt.

" Aw, brother that hurts " Emelisse replied as Vlastimir snickered. " Calm down, Elisse, the purpose of the get together is to hang out with old friends not the opposite unless someone from your childhood has gotten your attention" Alaric said as Emelisse then hid behind Katherine and Josephine.

" Well something's never changed " Vlastimir said and at this moment the prince made his way towards them. " Ah I see that there's an exciting conversation here " Archie said as Alaric greets the crowned prince with a bow.

" Let's not be too formal and I see that the prettiest lady of all the land has gathered here " Archie added as Emelisse like any other young ladies blushed at Archie's comment though some knew that this was only directed to a certain person.

Katherine stared at Vlastimir at the comment but said nothing of it. Though, the way she glanced in Josephine's direction was enough for her to get the message. Ah, so Josephine hadn't hung out with them much. Probably pulled away even before Alaric and Vlastimir went off for training. Man, she truly was bringing more attention to herself, wasn't she?

But still, it would be rude to say nothing. "Indeed. It would be nice for the three of us to spend time together again. Especially with all of you." Josephine said with a smile towards Vlastimir before glancing over to Alaric and Emelisse interact. It was nice to see that siblings would still be siblings, no matter what type of world they're in.

Both Josephine and Katherine giggled at Emelisse's action of hiding behind them before they noticed of the prince approached the group. Man, it seemed as if they were attracting everyone at this point, doesn't it?

At the comment, Josephine took a small step back to stand next to Emelisse, her eyes glancing over to her sister to see what kind of possible reaction Katherine would have.

And like any female lead, Katherine gave the prince a polite smile, a curtsy of the long dress that framed her beautifully. "Your kind words flatter me greatly, your highness. But I am simply here as any other person to welcome back the brave knights that fought for our empire." She said, smiling as she returned to her full height.

Internally, Josephine was cheering. 'There you go, Katherine! Use that female lead charm and wrap the whole kingdom around your finger!' The brunette internally encouraged, though her eyes seemed to be relaying such excitement as she watched her sister interact with the prince.

" Oh since we're going to have a get-together, why don't we introduce Josephine to our traditional star gazing," Emelisse said with glee. " Oh right we haven't done that since our parents had given us our respective responsibilities," Vlastimir said as Archie chimed in " do you still remember how to get to the area, Al? " Archie asked Alaric since the male was the one who had found the area.

" Of course, why would I forget the area that I discovered? " The General said and this was when Vlastimir nudged Alaric since the tone was something that others might find offensive when talking to the heir to the crown.

" How about it, young ladies? Let's say that it's a definite date. " Vlastimir jokingly asked with a smile. “Let us not view it as a way to mingle at any opportunity Vlastimir “ Alaric said in a serious tone oh how a debby downer the general could be which often made Vlastimir’s life of socializing complicated from time to time.

The night went on as the celebration for the return of the knights had been filled with laughter and even a couple of the guests who went home with a smile on their faces met a suitable match that might end up in marriage. Of course, tomorrow would be different when the knights would return to their duties behind the desks or patrolling around the kingdom where the knights would give justice to the victims of injustice.

Alaric bid farewell to the two siblings and his companions that he had forged during the years, as the day ended joyfully for some and for some sorrowful for those that had become a victim of the war between the two kingdoms and only a comforting thought of them risking their lives for the peace of their kingdom rests in each families’ hearts.

—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Time pasts and the morning sun slowly rose through before the sunlight could enter the pearly white room decorated with the colors of red and black pieces of furniture adorned the room. Alaric was already up as he was trading his white sleeping shirt for one of his usual clothing when staying inside the kingdom walls, the male adjusted the cuffs of his clothing as a knock could be heard. “ Young Master, your father would like to know if you would be eating with them for breakfast? “ one of their loyal servants asked as he opened the door.

“ Could you tell father that I would indeed eat with them but it would only be brief “ Alaric replied as Marcus the butler bowed his head and made his way towards the dining area where meals had already been prepared for the nobles who had lived in the mansion? Walking down the stairs and towards the dining area Alaric could hear the laughter of his father and sister “ ah good morning son “ his father greeted him and Alaric greeted his father as well.

Breakfast was not that eventful it was just like any family conversation, how his journey was leading the army, marriage, or any possible suitors and even joking about having an arranged marriage for Alaric and Emelisse to which both siblings both expressed their opinion.

As of now, Alaric was looking around the kingdom riding Midnight his horse. Responding to any distress that came across him. With him as the General there weren’t really that many people who had the guts to commit crimes knowing that he took after his mother, known to be a ruthless woman during her youth.

Hearing the offer, Josephine blinked. The traditional stargazing? That was one of the events for either Vlastimir or Alaric for the game! Whichever one was picked would have a short time spent with Katherine stargazing and catching up. Though depending on what was said could reveal how they felt about her and how they could say something that they didn't get to say during the ball! While she wouldn't be there to see the private moment, she hoped to at least get to see the interaction with whoever Katherine was interested in. So cool, so cool, so cool!

But despite her internal dialogue, Josephine only smiled at the group. "Stargazing sounds wonderful! I would love to be able to join you all."
Looking at her sister, Katherine chuckled and smiled at the three as well. "Well then, looks like I can't say no to such an outing. It will be nice to catch up with you all casually as well." She agreed. It was sealed, they were going to meet up with the others and enjoy their time together, and Josephine was going to enjoy every last moment of it!

As the night drifted on and many people left in seemingly high spirits, it wasn't long after Alaric's departure did their father approach to tell Katherine and Josephine about their family leaving. So, with a curtsy from both girls and the promise to write, they left with their family, both wearing warm smiles on their faces as they spoke to their family of how their night transpired in comparison to theirs.

Other than a light jab from Nicolas about how much a great mood she was in, Josephine was in high spirits of so far everything was going well for her. She was sure that Josephine wouldn't interact any bad endings, she was sure of it!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The excitement of the ball and being able to actually meet and interact with a few of the characters from her favorite game, Josephine was out like a light as soon as she was dressed in a nightgown and her head hit the pillow. Man, these pillows felt like heaven.

When the sun peeked through the windows and the brunette woke up with a soft groan. No, she wanted to sleep in more, just a bit more!! But it wasn't until Josephine's maid, Lisabet, came in and opened the blinds fully to allow the light in. "It's time to wake up, my lady. You have a wonderful day today." The maid chirped happily before walking over to her closet.

Josephine sat up with a groan and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. She never was an early riser, even in her past life. Hopefully she would get a better hang of it. Looking at the dresses that Lisabet picked out for her to wear that day, another thought came to mind. Fixing her diet and wardrobe. Clothes too tight and hardly getting enough food to last more than a few hours on her feet, it really was dreadful.

The diet was easy enough, she supposed. The servants of the family manor seemed nice enough, so if she as for a few changes here and there, they hopefully wouldn't mind. As for her clothes, well...

Honestly, the brunette thought about possibly going out to buy new clothes, but then she remembered which family she was reborn into and thought that fixing the clothes would be better! And if she made a new dress or two, who would be bothered by it?

Now, Josephine was dressed for the day in a dress she was comfortable in and had Lisabet style her hair to something she liked before she went down to meet the rest of her family for breakfast. And she seemed to be just in time as she noticed Katherine and Nicolas just sitting down with their parents at the table.

With a greeting of good morning to them, Josephine took her spot at the table as breakfast was brought out to them. While she did get greeted in return, the brunette wasn't ignorant to the glances that she got. More specifically, her attire. And yes, she could see why. Honestly, not only were Josephine's clothes smaller and more tight, they were also very blinding. If the dress didn't have an excessive amount of ruffles, then the colors were too bright and often clashed together. She was around nineteen, correct? Her fashion choice couldn't have all be for attention, could it?

Breakfast went on with ease. Light conversation going on for everyone as they talked about what they planned to do that day. When Josephine heard that Katherine had nothing to do that day, an idea was struck in her mind. If she did go shopping, why not go with her big sister?! Fictional or not, this was her life now. And perhaps trying to build some bonds to her family would be the first big step to getting comfortable in this world.

With breakfast finished and everyone was departing to go about their days separately, Josephine rose and quickly followed after Katherine to gain her attention.

"Katherine, wait!" The younger brunette called out to her older sister, stopping when her sister stopped to turn towards her. Standing with the protagonist in the lone hallway, Josephine felt herself suddenly nervous as to how she could react. This wouldn't be one of those manwha's where the protagonist was actually cruel when alone, right? This was her sister!

"What is it Josephine?" Katherine asked, snapping the younger girl out of her anxious ramblings as she stared at her.

"Oh! Well, I thought that since we both don't have any lessons or anything else to take up our time, we could go out to the shopping district together. Just...just the two of us. But only if you want to, of course!" Josephine rambled, quickly back tracking if her older sister had other plans by herself that she wasn't aware of.

A few moments passed as the two women stared eyes. Brown eyes staring into each other, as if waiting for the other to cave in first.

After a while, Katherine chuckled. "Sure, Josephine. It has been a while since it's been just the two of us, hasn't it?" She said.

Brown eyes sparkled with excitement as Josephine let out a happy gasp. She said yes! She said it, she said it, she said it! This will be amazing! Just the two of them being able to spend some time together. And hopefully Josephine could learn about more about the girl whose life she's living and some more personal information about the world around her.

"Perfect! I'll go call for a carriage and ask Lisabet to accompany us!" Josephine chirped before quickly turning and rushing down the halls despite the cries of her sister warning her to be careful.
Asking for a carriage to be ready for her and her sister to be able to go to the shopping district was easy. So was asking Lisabet to accompany them.

Though, her maid did offer a shawl to go over her dress due to how windy the day seemed. With everything in order, Josephine happily climbed into the carriage after Katherine, who also wore a shawl over her dress. With Lisabet being the last to climb in the carriage and closing the door, the carriage took off, and Josephine focused out the window the entire time as she watched the scenery go by.

Just a couple of minutes of roaming around the kingdom he was called by a couple of vendors who had been arguing who was at the wrong. Alaric stood between the two arguing vendors who by now was engaging in a screaming match that very much irritated Alaric, “ Could we please calm down, screaming will not do anything other than worsen the problem “ the General said as the two vendors slowly went silent and the black-haired male looked at the scenario and thought of what would be the most peaceful way to fix the problem.

Once the problem was resolved the vendors thanked Alaric as Alaric responded with a “ you are welcome. “ A sigh left the General’s lips as he rubbed the back of his neck, the male was holding his horse’s reigns as he looked at the shop windows that he passes by. How long has it been since he had bought himself something as a reward for the things that he has done. ‘ Maybe I should buy some gifts for the young ladies, my sister and mother ‘ the male thought as he stood outside of one of the jewelry shop eyeing some jewelries that he might think each individual would like or compliment their features.

The area was rather lively with people chatting about and even some children laughing and playing. There were even music that could be heard in the nearby tavern that houses travelers or adventurers that the kingdom has, the wind gives a cool breeze, his horse neighed when a kid had passed in front of them while Alaric calmed down the stallion.

During his walk some knights had walked passed by him and giving the sign of respect to someone with a high rank. When he made up his mind he decided to go to the nearby stable so that he could easily stroll through the crowd. The male then returned to the jewelry store and was greeted with a warm welcome by the owner of the store to which he gave a small smile.

He looked at the beautifully made jewelries that was displayed inside the store. A hum left his lips as he inspects each jewelry that he found beautiful. Calling over the owner he picked up a pink crystal earring designed to be looked as an arrow and deciding to buy it for his sister and a necklace red necklace for his mother, once the items had been placed in a small box Alaric paid and left the store.

Honestly, Josephine felt herself getting bored a bit easily. The difference between riding a carriage and an actual car was obvious with how long it took for them to arrive to the shopping district. But when they did, the brunette popped up again in excitement of being able to explore around and shop. And, this was totally off script from the game, so she didn't have to worry about running into any male leads.

Katherine was the first to be assisted off of the carriage when they arrived, Josephine was next, and Lisabet was last. With a chorus of 'thank you's towards the coachman, the three women found themselves in the middle of the bustling shopping district, with people bustling around all talking to each other and getting whatever shopping they want done. But, it seemed some of the talking hushed down when they arrived. More specifically, Katherine. Josephine heard the whispers going around about the Strelitz heiress, many speaking of her beauty and how much of a surprise it was to see her out like this.

Josephine couldn't help but smile. Katherine really did know how to attract attention, didn't she? But, their family were a big deal. No doubt women probably flocked Nicolas whenever he went out. How odd.

"So, what is it you wanted to do first?" Katherine asked, snapping Josephine out of her thoughts as she looked up at her older sister. Blinking, the youngest looked around before snapping her fingers. "Let's go to a boutique first! Maybe they have some new dresses in stock." She suggested, Katherine chuckling at the idea.

"Don't you already have a closet full of clothes?" Her sister teased with an arched brow. Huffing, Josephine rolled her eyes before grabbing Katherine's hand.

"Seasons change, Katherine. Besides, those clothes are too small for me. I can barely breathe in this one. Now let's go." She said, gently tugging her sister through the crowd with Lisabet following behind the two with a soft giggle.

Upon entering the boutique, the women were greeted by the clerk and were urged to look around at the newest selection. To which, of course they did. Josephine wandered off to look around, with Lisabet not too far from her in comparison to Katherine who went to look around herself.

Upon looking around the boutique at all of the clothes, Josephine realized that the clothes in her closet really were a bit childish and strange. The ones in the boutique made her realize that the current fashion definitely didn't match up with the clothes she had in her closet. Whether it was on purpose or not, she didn't know. But that didn't matter. Now she had a proper taste of what the clothes in this time looked like, she knew what to change about her wardrobe.

"Find anything?" Katherine asked, once again surprising Josephine as she turned to look up at her sister. "Yes. This dress, and there was a blue one over there I saw that looked lovely as well." She said, motioning to the other dress. "What about you? Did you find anything?"

Katherine shook her head. "Not today. I might have a better chance to see what they have the next time we come here." She said, before turning towards the clerk. "Can you have those dresses tailored and sent to the Strelitz estate? Send the bill to our estate as well." She said, the clerk nodding with a small bow before going to get the order prep for departure.

At that, the three women stepped out of the boutique, looking around the still crowded street with mild interest. "So, where do we go next?" Katherine asked, looking at Josephine, curious as to where she would like to go next. Humming, the young brunette looked up at her sister with wide pleading eyes. "Can we go to the bakery? I bet the cakes there are delicious?"

The question seemed to have thrown Katherine off for sure, with how her eyes widened and she looked at her sister with curiosity evident in her eyes. "The bakery? It's been a while since you've been there. Are you sure?" She asked, looking as if waiting for her to joke and offer some place else.

A while since she's been there. A while since Josephine's been there. Does that mean she gave up sweets in hopes of losing weight? Did that mean the desserts she ate at the ball were the first that her body had in a long time? That would definitely explain how good they tasted to her. Still, she wasn't going to give up that easily.

"Of course! We'll take a break with some sweets before moving on. We deserve that break, don't we Lisabet?" She said, turning to her maid in question. Lisabet jumped at being added to the conversation before giving a small nod. "Y-yes! Both ladies deserve a break. The bakery surely wouldn't be too much of a harm." She agreed, causing Josephine to turn towards her sister with a triumphant look.

Sighing, Katherine shook her head while rolling her eyes at her sisters antics. But Josephine swore she saw the edge of her lips tilt upwards slightly. "Fine. We'll go to the bakery and then we'll find someplace else to go. But not too much sweets. We don't want to ruin our appetites." She said, causing Josephine to giggle. "Of course, of course! Now let's go, those cakes are calling!" She said excitedly, this time actually eliciting a laugh from Katherine as they walked down the road of the shopping district to the bakery.

Upon his continued walk through the district and having a little nostalgic moment he heard a familiar voice call out a nickname that only one person would call him. “ Oh my well if it isn’t little Aric! “ a lady that was the same age as his mother called out Alaric, it was his mother’s childhood friend Samantha Beau. “ Ah Duchess Beau it has been a long time since we have seen each other “ Alaric greeted as he walked to the front of the bakery with a small smile. “ Oh my you have grown rather well, now I see why young maiden fall for youm and it isn’t just because of your wonderful feats but also your looks “ Samantha said full of glee as Alaric was a bit embarrassed with what his god mother had told him.

It’s a rare sight to see the young General being a bit out of character. “ What are you doing walking around the district? You should have been relacing after the battle that you had led “ Samantha said hands on her waist. While Samantha is a noble she wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty infact she was the one who makes the sweets in the bakery that she has in the shopping district. “ Oh! Why don’t you look inside that is if you still like some sweets? “ Samantha said as Alaric thought for a bit and let’s out a defeated sigh.

“ I have a new batch of your favorite cake and I made it in a size that can be eaten in one bite “ Samantha said with a smile as Alaric followed her inside the shop. As soon as he entered the bakery was rather lively that some of the people who had worked there were even singing a bit or joking about, “ well if it isn’t Lord Albetre “ one of the workers greeted as Alaric waved his hand.

“ Now, now don’t fuss all over him, you don’t have much to do today don’t you Aric? “ Samantha asked as she went behind the counter where all of their tasty pastries were displayed. “ Well as of now I am only patrolling around the city just to make sure that peace can be ensured “ Alaric replied, “ then that means that you are off for now, amazing now why not comeback as our noble taste tester? “ Samantha said as Alaric sighed in defeat knowing that he couldn’t say no to the opportunity to taste his godmother’s pastries that he loves and always looks forward to.

He had spent time inside the bakery that his godmother and the workers had managed to let him take off his coat and other knightly accessories and keep it stored in his godmother’s office. Now the male was wearing his black long sleeve shirt while a white apron was over it. “ Now can you still make a mean icing?” Samantha asked as Alaric was up for the challenge and at the moment the male felt like he was back to when the world wasn’t cruel.

The three women made their way to the bakery, Josephine obviously more excited than the other two. As the three walked to the bakery, Josephine was the one to rush forward and open the door, holding it open for both Katherine and Lisabet to stop through. With all three inside, Josephine allowed the door to close while excitedly walking over to the treats on display, brown eyes excitedly looking over at all of the sweets they had to offer.

"They all look so good." Josephine mused as she looked at the sweets.

"They do," Katherine agreed. "but remember that we mustn't get too much or else we'll ruin our-hm?"

The abrupt pause of the sentence had Josephine turning towards her sister, curious as to what made her stop. Following her gaze, brown eyes widened at the familiar sight of the General of Edessa in the same bakery with an apron wrapped around him. What was Alaric doing here?! This wasn't part of the game, she was sure of it! So why was one of the male leads in a bakery? Thinking back to the game, Josephine almost kicked herself for forgetting. In one of the scenes, where Alaric tried to pursue Katherine. He made her a cake. One that he said his godmother helped him with. The same godmother that worked in this very bakery! Oh how could she be so stupid to forget something like this!

Sure, it was a small detail, but important nonetheless. That means she would have to be careful and try to remember what else she learned from the game.

“ Now now stop being competitive, “ Samantha said as the older female dusted her hands on the apron in front of her. She then went back and grabbed the bite-sized mini cakes that she had mentioned earlier “ Now Aric has a taste so that we can name it after you “ Samantha said as Alaric obeyed and took one and had eaten it with a hum left his lips as he nods his head, of course, his godmother’s pastries never disappoint she is known for her tasty and one of a kind pastries.

Samantha looked out and noticed the two daughters of the Strelitz house. She clapped her hands a sign that customers will arrive “ Now dear, can you please place the other pastries in the display windows “ she asked Alaric as one worker offered to do it to which he said that it was alright. His godmother then went towards the door and opened it greeting the three females with a smile. “ How long has it been since I have seen you two strolling through this part of the shopping district, “ she said in a joyful tone “ are you here to purchase some pastries? If so may I interest you in the new pastry that we had added today, “ she said with a bright smile.

While Alaric carried some pastries that vary from sugar cookies to cupcakes. “ Al, mind helping us carry some flour in? “ David his godmother’s worker had asked to which Alaric nodded his head, despite his cold attitude the workers at the bakery are warm to him and even joked around with him like he was just a normal citizen. A chuckle left his lips as David was telling something.

As his eyes went to the door of the bakery he was a bit surprised to see Katherine and Josephine with whom he presumed one of their servant being accompanied by his aunt. Now many people had seen him inside the bakery but they had never looked through the glass and stared at him twice when wearing an apron. He was a bit cautious not many people knew that he once frequent the store to lend a helping hand or to just hang out with his aunt and her workers.

The male then immediately avoided eye contact and walked towards the backdoor where all the baking would take place in an effort to hide from the two females. Though this was a complete fail when one of the children of Samantha’s worker bumped into him covered in flour while laughing, the child was at first scared when they looked up to see Alaric but soon relaxed when Alaric chuckled and assured the kid that it was fine.

Well, hiding wasn't going to do much now that the two noblewoman had seen him. Of course, Katherine was more surprised by seeing him than Josephine was, but that really didn't matter at the moment. Watching as their countries most noble knight shuffle out of eye sight, Josephine withheld a small snort at his reaction. To think that he was the same noble knight that was vying for her sisters attention.

As Samantha walked out and spoke to the two, it was Katherine who answered the woman.

"It really has," the protagonist agreed with a small smile. "but we were out doing a bit of shopping and we believed that we should stop her for a bit and get some treats. Especially Josephine."

With a small huff at being thrown under the bus by her older sister, Josephine turned to Samantha and smiled. "She's right. It has been a while since we've stepped foot in here, so we're trying to rectify that." The younger Strelitz sibling said, giving her a small smile. "It's really nice to be seeing you again, Samantha."
