Totally human, I swear!
Some people go wandering around the woods and come across a pointlessly edgy, 19th century-esque mental hospital. Upon discovering this establishment, they either choose to explore it and find out how pointlessly edgy and anachronistic it is or they turn back only to find that the woods have expanded into infinity and the sanatorium is the only shelter around and find out about the edginess and anachronism anyway. If anyone dies, they return as a vampire with little exception. Also, the woods harbor a pack of werewolves. Many of the staff of the asylum are some sort of magic user.
But wait, there's more! Random, small monsters roam the halls, appearing out of nowhere and occasionally disappearing.
Keep in mind that what I am satirizing is the asylum itself, not mental illness and neurodivergency. There is no place for ableism OOC.
