I don't know if you ever played Feral Heart, but I still remember when noob me was like "is lit like, lighting?", I still can't believe that's where my mind went before literacy on a text-based rp.

I'm glad that Rp culture seems, less intense now than it used to be? Like I feel like there was a lot more gatekeeping back then, like the first Rp I ran I made it a point that I would 'teach' people in the advertising. Because it was way more common for people to have to pass an 'initiation' test, do you remember that? It's so weird when you look back at it.

Oh wow! I just started serious RPing recently. I also transitioned to English. So I never had to go through that. I never even heard of it until now.

I've been in the RP/Campaign scene for close to 10 yrs now since FH came out in 2011, and my friend brought me in not long after it came out.

Ok, so, I was thinking of creating a human character.... thinking of making them a close combat specialist that excels at his job, but I got a look upon the lore section, and I’m an unsure of being able to make a human character due to the planet’s ‘reset’. I was coming here to ask if it’s possible to make a human character, or do I have to use another species from the galaxy I order to fill this role... and uh, sorry for bothering you about this.

No worries! I did state that some humans joined Umbrae as an escape from the nuclear war, could that possibly fit your character? I really don't want to limit people, so I hope we can work something out your happy with!

Well, that could work, the idea I’m going for is a human with experience on either close quarters combat to act as a sort of close ranged fighter or a heavily armored character to fulfill the role of a ‘tank’ within the team.

I don't see any issues with that, is there something snaging you upon it?
If you would prefer them to be newer to the Umbrae scene, they would just be considered Wingless rather than Human- as they are the Human equivalents left on Earth/Orias. There's a character Necron that could have brought him in, after the reset if he seemed like he could work.

But you don't have to integrate any of that, it's really up to you. A tank could come from before or after the Reset.

The Latter role I was talking about was a character meant to ‘tank’ damage, like defense builds in video games. They are focused more so on blocking damage for others and as the name Implies, act like literal ‘tanks’ meant to take the attention of the enemies for the team.

I was aware of what you meant by the tank, I honestly don't see the issue, could you clarify why you feel that couldn't currently work?
Being the tank for the team is their fighting style, which can originate from either.
You could have an interesting dynamic of a Space Knight if you really wanted to, is there something I'm missing?

Paladins in space would actually be pretty funny to me...(though you're prob looking more at fighter or barbarian)

Oh, sorry, bit confused on what you said. And I didn’t say anything on how they won’t work... I think you were referring to what I first said about then not being applicable to the rp. I was talking about a ‘human’ character... not a certain role... sorry if I made things a bit confusing right now.
