Fantasy The Tribes of Life (Open!)

Xenagg

Queen of Noms
The Tribes of Life
Eagle Tribe - Heroic, Bold, Courageous
  • The strongest people of all tribes as well as the most populated. They thrive off of competition and justice and have a very sharp eye on all the tribes. They maintain balance and structure between the tribes and prevent the Vulture and Snake tribes from trying to gain any power. This tribe has one leader which is usually the strongest person in the tribe. Can be challenged by fighting until (near) death. People hold competitions constantly to show status in Eagle tribe.

Rabbit Tribe- Kind, Gentle, Nurturing
  • The most sympathetic of the tribes and is the basis of all tribes survival. They know the lands the best and are basically one with the earth. With their intense knowledge of the Earth, they can grow the best vegetables and fruits which they provide to all tribes. There are 4 wise leaders that work together to help run the Rabbit tribe smoothly. They are the 4 wisest who tend to stick to tradition and know all the secrets of the land. Their ruling is passed down from generation to generation but these families are kind people who everyone admires so it usually isn’t a problem

Vulture Tribe - Survival, Isolating, Tight-knit
  • The best scavengers and survivors of all people. Live in the toughest conditions of the island and depend on one another to keep their tribe alive. They are very skeptical of all those around them and usually only stick to their tribe. The scavengers don't have a form of government or ruling. They depend only on each other and survive on their own as a large group. They even refuse to accept any of the scraps that the Eagles call “meat” and hunt on their own to share with their tribe. With their great construction skills, they are able to create wonderful, hidden homes that protect them from the predators

Snake Tribe - Sneaky, Devious, Intelligent
  • The most intelligent of the group, yet are looked down upon the most out of all tribes because they are tricksters. The Snake tribe lives underground and creates the most advanced technology that is overlooked and taken by the Eagle tribe. In the Snake tribe, most people function as individuals but they come together every month to discuss how their tribe is running and to share whatever technological advancement they recently created. Their meetings are usually supervised by an Eagle tribe member which makes it difficult for them to conduct business. The lack of independence and trust between the Snake and Eagle tribes is the biggest tension there is.

The History of the Tribes

In the center of the large, isolated island named Haszee is a large totem that from top bottom has carved in it an Eagle, Rabbit, Vulture and a Snake. The totem signifies each tribe that occupies this vast island, the highest being the most important, lowest being the most troublesome. Now these connotations of good or bad or simply knowing which tribe has more power on the island all stem from the myth brewed up on Haszee. The myth starts out with the spirits of these significant animals shown on the pole who are guardians of the island. They protected the land and allowed it to flourish with all kinds of fruits and plants and even animals. However one day, the Snake introduced a being called a “human” to this island. Together, these spirits agreed that allowing humans on Haszee would make the workload a lot easier for the guardians if the humans could perform labors for the land. Humans started to show up and were divided into groups based on their capabilities and skills and placed under each spirit. Those who learned from the Eagle were the best hunters. They were strong, had sharp eyes and were very bold. They kept the population of animals on the island in control as well as helped the humans have great feasts. Those under the Rabbit guardian were very sympathetic and were much smaller in stance than the eagle but had a great knowledge of agriculture and environment. The rabbit helped the humans to harvest fruits and vegetables which was the main part of substance for the people. The Vulture took in the people who had a mind for strategy. These people were usually quiet and more observant but their minds were brilliant. They took care of structure, architecture, and keeping their island clean of any misfortunes. People who were innovative and cunning followed the snake. They created the tools and technology for the people of Haszee to have an easier life. Together, the humans worked harmoniously with the guardians until one day, all of their hard work to create a civilization was set into flames.
Here is where the myth gets confusing. There weren’t many records left from what happened after the civilization was sent ablaze but what was passed down from family to family was that the people of the Vulture and Snake came together and became greedy for power. They set everything on fire to show their dominance and to try to create a new society ruled by them. Apparently, all four guardians were devastated by the humans' greed and killed off many of those who followed the Vulture and Snake. The guardians came together and decided that they would never be able to control the humans from their natural, sinful instincts so they posted up the large Totem to show which people were to be honored as the most pure and respectful tribes as well as make aware which tribes are the least trusting. Thus, the Vulture and Snake guardians admitted that their people are shameful and deserve less than the Eagle and Rabbit tribes.
Present day, only a few decades later, the eagle tribe was thriving along with the rabbit tribe who provided an abundance of food to the Eagles in exchange for protection. Meanwhile, the Vulture and Snake tribes were basically living on the edge of society and were working to benefit the Eagles and Rabbits. The Eagles supervised the snakes' work with technology and the Vultures had to build the best homes for the Eagles and Rabbits as well as keep their part of the island clean. The Eagles did not feel they needed to give anything in return to the two unruly tribes but the Rabbit tribe is torn in half as half of their people want to aid the Vulture and Snake tribes while the other half hold deep hatred since they destroyed the earth with fire. The system was unjust but it had been working this way for years, creating a hierarchy that was glued to the people. But this would change.
The new generation of tribespeople are full of unrest. Emotions are what control them and tensions are once again rising. The Vulture and Snake tribes are done with being mistreated but the Eagle Tribe only sees greed in those two tribes while those of the Rabbit are faithful to the Eagles but also can see the harm being done. Will the four tribes be able to unite once again or will history repeat itself with a blaze of fire on Haszee?

The Feast of Haszee

Conflict and tension have been lingering on the island of Haszee since the day the Gods left the humans to fend for themselves. The sacred totem marks the hierarchy the Island holds; Eagle on the top, Rabbit next, then the Vultures, and lastly the Snakes. It had always been the two on top versus the lowly tribes but was this tension right? Were the unrecorded, skeptical oral myths of the way the land was set on fire by the Vulture and Snake tribes correct? Or did the history of the 4 great tribes get rewritten to benefit some while others suffer?
Whatever it may be, it has been decades later and the Eagles tyrant like rule seemed to be getting out of hand.
Every year there is an annual feast of Haszee where all the tribes gather together in Eagle territory to “solidify” their supposed union of the island. It is supposed to be a time to celebrate and indulge in what life has to offer but it is only painted to seem that way. What usually happens is that Each tribe presents a large offering to the Eagle tribe for keeping them “safe”. Typically, the Rabbit tribe brings the ripest of fruits and their best dancers to put on a show. The Vulture tribe offer wonderful carvings, rare items found on the island, or other innovative creations from whatever they could find. The Snakes would offer them the latest technology that the Eagles have been supervising anyways along with some form of entertainment. Besides the “protection” that the Eagle tribe gives, they bring to the feast the finest meats as well as fights for everyone to watch and enjoy! That would seem wonderful but just as the Eagles and Rabbits tend to keep all things good away from the Snakes and Vultures, they tend to take all of the best food and shun the Vulture and Snake people from enjoying what they should.
Tension has continuously built up every yearly feast and the one coming up promises some sort of chaos. Will there be fights? Maybe a fire set off in the Eagle Territory? Or maybe romance between two completely opposite groups might emerge and enrage some leaders? Whatever the situation may be, this annual feast is doomed to be tragic.
What will you bring to the day of reckoning?

This rp takes place in an anachronistic time period. So think of ancient times but with advanced technology. Nothing like modern guns or cars, imagine weapons or vehicles made with natural products. Think Disney’s Atlantis: The lost empire movie. Be creative, especially if you’re in the Snake tribe! If anything is unclear, please let me know!

Rules:
- No God Modding or controlling other characters or plot. If you’d like to add or do something as the person first.
  • No permanent death or damage to a player unless they allow it
  • Romance and cursing are allowed but dont get too carried away that you forget the plot.
  • Follow the plot but personal development is allowed and encouraged
  • Please be civil to one another. No drama in the OOC thread.
  • DM me if you wont be on for a while. I understand if people are busy but try not to hold up the RP for a whole week.
