The Xevious System - 04-24-31XX - The Titan

A lone ITF Battle Cruiser drifts aimlessly through the black void of space, it’s dual thrusters blazing along as the autopilot guided it through the stars. The Crew of this fine ship were most certainly asleep, and would be arising soon to prepare for the new day. As per usual they were en route to fulfill another bounty hunt, the details of which have yet to be given out by Captain Strider himself. The most that he’d bothered to tell them was that it was another Headhunt mission, the individual of which they were tracking was to be a “surprise” in his own words. It was rather unusual for Ezro to keep secrets from his crew in such a manner, but as per usual. He didn’t care.

So rise and shine, oh band of gruff and tough pirates! It’s time to start the day, and begin an adventure for all to enjoy!

(Alright people! It’s time to get this show on the road, I hope you all are as excited for this as I am! There’s not gonna be a specific posting order or anything like that, simply post on interaction and go from there. If you have any further questions be sure to address them to me in the Discord or PMs! For now, good luck!)

Ezro Strider lay motionless in bed, his dark and quiet room keeping the young captain at peace. Eventually he began to stir in his sleep before awaking and letting out a deep yawn. As he sat up in bed, a couple bottles rolled off the sheets and crashed to the ground sending glass shards across the room.

“Sunnava bitch...” he grunted in a tired voice.

Figuring it wasn’t worth the effort to clean it up himself, he reached over and grabbed a data pad from his bedside table and called in a service bot to clean up his room and have his sheets taken to the laundry room.

Grunting once more, the young man swung his legs out of bed, careful to avoid the glass and stood up. A piercing pain went through his skull, indicating he was heavily hungover as usual. Despite the countless attempts of Everett and the occasional input from Alice, he never seemed to really care about the quantity of alcohol he drank to get himself to either sleep or pass out. His drinking habit was something that had yet to show any signs of being kicked any time soon. Warnings of “It’ll kill you” and “using is as a crutch isn’t going to help” never phased him. He would do as he pleased, even if it did kill him.

Granted, it honestly wouldn’t, thanks to his tougher than normal body, that was sponsored by the very people out in force to hunt him down. It was one of the only things he had to be grateful for when it came to the ITF.

The hangover was always rough, but Ezro wasn’t about to let it give him an excuse to be lazy and rest. And so, growling and cursing to himself, he carefully made his way into his bathroom where he quickly cleaned up in some cold water before drying off and getting dressed in a training outfit of athletic shorts and a black sleeveless shirt that fit tight against his body. Once finished he exited his room and wandered down the corridor of the other bedrooms before reaching the lift and taking it down to the bottom floor where the training room was. Once there, he started off by walking over to a row of treadmills and getting up on one before turning it up to a brisk jog before finally picking the speed up to a sprint and slipped into the flow of motion.

Everett was sitting on her bed with her back against the wall and knees against her chest, her eyes glossing over the articles that rolled through her datapad's translucent screen. She scoffed at one of them about recent killings on her homeworld before she decided to shut the device off and palce it down on the bedside by herself. With a mildly infuriated sigh and a frown to hide how tired she was, she rubbed the bridge of her nose and pulled away the bedsheets to get off the bed and get ready for the day.

Usually she loved work, but mornings weren't her thing, especially not when she didn't sleep at all last night and instead stood up and browsed her datapad. She felt grumpy and tired, but thankfully she knew exactly what she needed to get herself going for the day. Hopping into her slim medical overalls, she walked up to the door of the room and cautiously placed her hand on lock, as if it could burn her. For all Everett cared it could be made of molten lava and it wouldn't make a difference to her, but she didn't want to meet ANYONE, not while she felt trash like this. Especially not that fish bitch. She didn't even feel like making fun of others and that made her even more upset than she was to begin with.

With sigh she opened the door and peeked her head out, looking both ways in the corridor to make sure nobody was out. She caught a glimpse of the captain leaving and she sighed in relief. If that drunkard can still wake up earlier than anyone else, then the others should still be asleep. Maybe. Who knows. She just didn't want to talk with anyone until she got her shot for the morning.

In an uncanny cartoon-like way, Everett snuck out of her room and tiptoed down the hallway and took a corner as she quietly sneaked over to the medical bay, occasional groans of annoyance escaping her mouth as she kept feeling like she'll fall asleep on the way there. She practically tumbled into the medical bay, and avoided falling onto her face by grabbing onto the edge of her desk. She groaned angrily and slowly pushed herself ul while her eyes locked to the large cabinet behind the desk. "Today is off a great start..."

Stumbling over to the cabinet, she opened it with her RF chip, the thin doors opening with a small beep. And behind it, a treasure trove of alchemical supplies, drugs, antibiotics and the like. Her hands reached out with experience from using the cabinet on a daily basis, knowing where everything is inside it, quickly grabbing a bottle of pills that conveniently lacked any labelling. With shaking hands Everett poured a single pill onto her hand, and quickly gulped it down.

It kicked like a bull and Everett almost fell over again as the enchancers began working on her tired body, supplementing sleep for her exhausted muscles and brain. She took a few deep breaths as the drug began to work on her body and she placed the bottle back into the cabinet and then closed the entire thing. Already, she was feeling much more like herself, which was good for her, not so much for the others. She sat down on her chair and buried her face into her hands as she leaned onto the desk and let herself wake up from the drug pumping in her veins, and waited for someone to stumble in with some minor issue like a cut finger or stub toe.
"Fuck, now I'm bored. God, I hate mornings..."

Corr woke up in a cold sweat like most days. He stiffly got out of bed and walked towards the mirror. Frowning he examined the tattoo on his shoulder. It was the symbol for Alpha. Around the tattoo was scared skin tissue from where he tried to burn it off to no prevail. It was a true testament to his sin.

He put his shirt on and attached his pistol to his side holster. He jogged towards the bridge taking engineering catwalks and ladders.
After twenty minutes he made it to his station. He took the ship off auto pilot as he took over.
'Time for another beautiful day." He said

Ollie woke up to a sudden thud, accompanied by a mild headache induced by the pain. Loki had rammed into his head in attempts to wake him up. "A.. Again..? Bugger off" He groggily said as he rubbed his eyes and looked around. Apparently, Ollie had stayed up the night prior tinkering with his rifle and had passed out in the engineering bay; this was the third time in four nights. Loki floated around the room, whirring and buzzing a happy tune; perhaps in an attempt to wake Ollie up. The two had a close bond, similar to a man and his dog. "Do you remember where I left off pal?" He asked, standing up from the cold floor and stretching. Loki was a very capable companion and helped Ollie with essentially everything.

The tiny drone hovered above Ollie's data pod located across the room and picked it up using the miniature tractor beam Ollie had installed on him, and plopped the device into Ollie's lap. "Let's take a look shall we." He flicked on the screen and a small camera scanned his face; half of a second later he was granted access to the data pod. Ollie liked keeping his stuff as secure as possible; especially his data pod which he relied so heavily on for day to day life aboard the Titan. After scrolling through the home screen he found his way into an application that was more or less a blueprint of his rifle; diagnostics if you will. His rifle had suffered a penetrating blow from the last time the crew found themselves in trouble, and severed many of the important components around the trigger mechanism. Not only was the trigger getting jammed when test firing, but the rounds were straying far too much from target for it to be considered user error, even more so when taking Ollie's marksmanship into account.

He sat down over on the bench and returned to work. Having the rifle in working order as soon as possible was necessary for Ollie, as he never knew when the group could find themselves in confrontation again. He enjoyed the unpredictability of the job; even if it brought him more stress than he sometimes desired. "Guess we'll keep at 'er until someone chooses to disturb us, eh? Sound good?" His mechanical companion let out a chirp in agreement, and settled himself down on the bench next to the rifle. Ollie picked up a mug that was near his work space and sipped on the day-old coffee it contained. He looked down at the mug in disgust, "Well this shit aint gonna do.. Start resembling the trigger the way I have it lined out; gotta get me a refill." He ordered the drone as he continued towards the door, headed for the cafeteria.

Alejandras tel-Murkuntelli
Alejandras lay in bed, their deafening snores resonating through the room, and through the halls of the ship. Their room was dark and musty, with the definite smell of sweat and fish in the air. His mechanical arms were lain across his stomach as he slept, and his legs crossed. A ragged sheet lay strewn haphazardly on the mattress. A few bottles of discarded alcohol lay scattered across the floor. On a makeshift nightstand was a bottle of discreet pills. His titanic frame turned to the side, robust metals of an arm jutting into Alejandras' abdomen. He started to move his mouth in sluggish slurs of words.

"Ahh fuck me, goddamn arm, just gotta get in the way of things..."

Alejandras began to rise, groaning as he did. His cybernetic legs took a second to adjust, a mechanical whirring as diagnostic systems, servos, and pistons were starting to wake. He slowly grasped the bottle of pills, popping open the tab, and deposited two of the pills into the palm of the other hand. He held them there for a minute, putting them into his left pocket. Alejandras hadn't yet accustomed to the schedule of The Titan, and subsequently often took drugs to help with waking up. In this case, the pills were modafinil. Alas, Alejandras didn't have the strongest stomach when it came to swallowing things, get your mind out of the gutter, we both know what you were thinking when you read that. He grasped a corner of the bed, and lifted himself up. He walked outside of the room, ducking to pass the doorframe.

Alejandras strode towards the galley, seeking a glass of water to down the pills.

The kitchen was alive with the sounds of mixing, stirring and various ingredients being combined into what would be breakfast for the crew. After serving aboard the Titan for nearly a year, Sil had a pretty good idea what most of the crew members liked. They came from all walks of life. The ship was a mixing pot of various races, backgrounds, and beliefs. Very few things united them, but they all had one thing in common: they all needed food, of some form or another.

But Sil wasn’t there. Six droids were busily roaming around the kitchen, some on tiny spider legs and some flying around, held aloft by wirring helicopter blades. One was on the countertop, beating a bowl of scrambled eggs, while another was mixing flour and butter for biscuits. Two others were wrestling with some screeching, worm-like creatures, while trying to stuff them into a pot of boiling broth. The last two droids were flying back forth from the pantry to the countertop, delivering vegetables and meats.

“That’s enough bacon, 3854. Go get two onions, then help 4359 prepare the pancake batter,” Sil’s voice said through a small speaker sitting on the sink. She commanded them from the peace and quiet of her room, where she was lying on the bed, surrounded by her collection of knives.

Normally, she would be there with the droids, but not today. Today, she had plans. There was someone she needed to see, someone she needed to understand. An unknown variable.

Sil prided herself on knowing everything about everyone. She knew when they woke up, when they went to sleep, what they ate, when they relieved themselves of it, and when they would return for more. And she was always two steps ahead of them when they did so.

Except for one person. One unknown variable.

She checked her watch. Good, she thought as she rose from the bed. She’d have about thirty to forty-five minutes, depending on how much of a workout the captain wanted to get this morning. The droids should be able to hold down the kitchen for about twenty minutes or so. After that, she would need to go there herself. They were good at mixing and prepping, but terrible at actually cooking. Still, she preferred them to live assistants. She could trust the droids. She could depend on them.

She rose and headed to the restroom to look at herself in the mirror. Sil ran a hand through her fiery red hair and flexed her well-muscled limbs. The captain had a nice build, she had to admit. Mimicking him was always fun. He was a little too tall for her, but most people didn’t notice if she was off an inch. Most people don’t notice details at all.

She turned a dial on her black space suit and a holographic representation of the captain’s usual workout attire fizzled to life around her. “No, I can do better,” she thought, posing in front of the mirror. She tapped a few keys on her wrist-mounted data pod and the outfit’s shirt disappeared, revealing the captain’s bare chest. She grabbed a towel from the rack and draped it over her shoulder, the one real article of ‘clothing’ she was wearing, other than her bodysuit. It completed her ‘I just finished a vigorous workout’ look, right down to the sweat glistening on her holographic pecs. “Yes, that will do.”

Captain Ezro Strider exited Sil’s quarters, locking the door behind himself. She… erm, ‘he’ strolled down the hall toward the medical bay. He considered going straight to the doctor’s personal quarters, but decided this would be a more fitting place. Going to a woman’s bedchambers wasn’t his style, though Sil was curious what effect that might have. Maybe another time, she thought.

You won’t be an ‘unknown variable’ by the time I’m done with you, doctor, she thought as she tapped lightly on the medical bay’s door.

“Doctor Everett?” Sil said, in a perfect simulacrum of Ezro’s voice. “Rough morning, or just the tail end of a rough night?” he said with a casual smile and roguish laugh as he stepped inside and approached the woman as she was clinging to her desk. “I’ve been meaning to have a word with you, Everett.”

zinnia_silane_3_render_by_notsocreativ_d9jlaqt-pre.pngAlice had been in a deep sleep but then suddenly woke up to a loud alarm. "Ahh! What who huh?" She sat up frazzled then realized it was her data pod. She reached over to her data pod and shut the alarm then slowly got out of bed with a big yawn. Then suddenly her stomach growled. "Food" She said with a blank stare then started to head for the kitchen. She didn't bother to get dressed. When she got there she only saw droids and no Sil. She stared blankly realizing breakfast wasn't ready. "Oh come on I'm hungry now" She wined. She then left the kitchen to find Sil and demand she finish breakfast. Alice decided to check to see if Sil was in her room but no one was there. She then continued for her search as her stomach growls echoed through the halls.

After a solid fifteen minutes of running on the treadmill, Ezro finally powered down the treadmill to a steady walk with the distance counter above flashing at five and a half miles. A new personal best for the dear captain. It was a daily task of his to try and beat his distance in a fifteen minute sprint, so it filled him with a little more pride than usual. He hated running, so a little over five miles in fifteen minutes was more than enough for him. After everything on the machine was shut down, the captain hopped off and dried off the sweat dripping down the sides of his head and back of his neck with a towel from a dispenser in the wall.

‘Let’s see its..... fuck what day is it?’

Ezro gave up trying to remember and pulled out his data pod. It was Wednesday, meaning he’d have to work out his back. A small groan escaped him, considering his arms were already incredible sore from working out his arms and shoulders the past two days. He REALLY was not in the mood to lift this fine morning. So in the end he opted to skip back day and train his fighting techniques. Tapping a small sequence into his data pod, the combat station in the gym began shifting as it brought forward a tough tan colored punching bag and hug it from its appropriate station. It was a simple matted area with a rafter of two piped above it in a cross section to support the bag.

The captain removed his shoes and socked before taping up his wrists and ankles in the usual Muay Thai fashion, before testing out the tightness of it all. Satisfied with his work, he stepped into the ring and began bouncing and moving around the punching bag to warm himself up a little, until finally he pounced inward and worked a series of combos in rapid succession.

Right elbow, palm strike, rising knee, reset.

As per the usual process, whenever Ezro was left alone with his thoughts (especially in a setting of exercise) his mind began to wander and remember being in past situations of stress and combat. A scary place to go, but there was no controlling it. He thought for a moment as he pounced around to put on some music, but rejected the idea under the grounds that he was already going and didn’t want to stop. A poor decision.

Triple jab set, heel crush, roundhouse strike, reset.

A gunshot sounded in Ezro’s head as he continued to move around, doing his best to ignore it all.

Jump to the side, shoulder bash, grab, knee press, reset.

A cry for help, a beg for mercy, and in a familiar voice that haunted Ezro for years on end.

‘Shut up damn you...’ The strikes grew more intense, and his breath more ragged.

Low swipe, rising uppercut, falling elbow, reset.

“do it...... Do it!.......... DO IT BOY!”
A new voice had come to play, this one finally bringing Ezro to his limit. His strikes were lashing out in a sloppy and almost animal like manner. Grunts and yells filling the air as he dished out his frustration and hatred upon the innocent bag. His strength was overwhelming the fibers holding it all together, and the structural integrity was slowly fading. With one final straight punch, a hole caved into the bag causing the little bead objects to come spilling out of it once Ezro removed his hand.

‘Get a grip, Ezro. Relax.... everything happened years ago... there’s no reason for it to haunt you now.’ and yet he could never seem to move on from it. But how could he? ‘Let the past die. He’s dead... gone, you are here in the present. You have a good life. You don’t need the stains of your past dripping into everything you have now.’ As much as he’d like to believe he could eventually let it all go, the young Captain knew damn well it would take a damn good therapist for that to ever happen. So for now it seems his hell would walk with him for as long as he did breathe.

A few deep breaths came and went, and Ezro finally was able to calm himself down and step away from the punching bag. After retrieving the data pod once more, he had another service bot come and clean up his mess. Next, he shot out a message to his closer allies aboard the ship.

“Reminder! After breakfast today at 10 there’ll be a mission briefing. Be sure to be there otherwise you won’t be included on the bounty and the payout.”

With that finished, the captain slowly paced out of the gym and onto the lift back to the third floor where he would return to his room to shower up before the morning meal.

Everett frowned as she heard the door open and then the familiar voice of the captain. She took back her earlier statement, she would rather be bored than to have to deal with someone like the captain who keeps people busy with talking. She never understood the crew's fascination with Ezro, he just seemed like any other drunk hunk she met during her time at the ITF. And there were quite a lot of those there when she served. Still, she looked up with a mildly upset impression on her face and leaned back in the chair, looking the captain up and down.

"Bit of both captain. Still not as bad as your drinking habits though." She explained and shook her head, the week she had spent here already enough to get a pretty good idea of the captain and his habits. Heck, he's one of the few people on the ship who already has a "usual" when they come to the medical bay in the form of hangover cures and prescripted strong liver pills that Everett decided to give to the captain so he doesn't die on them one day and leave them without a bounty.

But this time, she was a bit suspicious. When she had entered the medical bay like five minutes ago, she saw the captain go down towards the gym. Now he's here in front of her, soaked in sweat and looking like he had wrestled an Ixlicid with his bare hands. There was no way she wouldn't be suspicious, but normally she might overlook this and just go along with whatever trick this was, but with the drugs in her system driving her brain to an overdrive she squinted slightly. She remembered that some of the crew had told her about the fish bitch making pranks on them with her ability to change her appearance. She couldn't be sure that's what the case was, but she was willing to bet one of her kidneys on it.

So, she decided to play along with it and if this really was Sil then play a trick on her. If it was really the captain, well, she could explain. "Wait, don't go any further, I already know what you need." She exclaimed and stood up, holding her palm up towards the captain. "The usual, coming right up."

She turned around towards the medical locker and opened it with a small beep. One of the things she still continued on the Titan was being meticolous and she had the doses for people ready and labeled in small little plastic tubes. She reached inside and grabbed one labeled "Ezro" and grabbed it, closing the cabinet behind her as she sat back down on her chair and handed the pills over to the captain.

"Before we talk, I want you to take the pills. I know of your habit to not take them despite my prescription, but as your doctor I'm warning you: you either take these or I will stop giving them to you." A nice and simple plan. If this is really the captain, he will take the pills and nothing will happen. If this is Sil, then if she takes the pills, then her body will look at the liver pills as emetic poison and she's gonig to be throwing up for the next half an hour in the nearest toilet. And if she refuses, then poor old captain will be really cranky without the pills.

Sil accepted the small tube of pills without showing any sign of surprise or worry. She was aware that the doctor had been giving the captain something but hadn’t had time to discern its contents yet. The pills could be anything from a hangover cure, to penis enlargement, to something purely recreational. Could be poison, she thought, but Everett already had the tube labeled ‘Ezro’ before Sil got there. So, if it was poison, this was premeditated, which means she’d been planning to poison the captain all along… or she knew this was an imposter and was expecting Sil to pull this stunt someday.

But keeping a tube on the shelf just for that seemed a little too paranoid, even for Everett, so Sil dismissed that train of thought. In all likelihood, the little tube of pills actually was for the captain and that was all the more reason not to take them. Even though Sil had built up a resistance to lots of commonly-used poisons and such, she had no idea what this was and no idea how her body would react to it. She couldn’t afford to replace one ‘unknown variable’ with another, far more dangerous one.

I need to analyze these and find out what she's been giving our captain. And if it is poison... I'll deal with her the same way I dealt with the others, Sil thought. It wouldn't be the first time she eliminated a would-be assassin. I'm not a fan of glaives, but those would look nice in my collection.

“Eve… may I call you 'Eve?'” the faux captain said as he tucked the small container of pills into his pocket. His tone remained level, yet just friendly enough. “You may be our doctor, but I’m still your captain. I’ll take them after breakfast, if you don’t mind. You have my word.” He placed a hand over his heart. “I find them slightly more tolerable after a meal. They’re a lot like Sil, in that way. Speaking of whom…”

He pulled out a chair and took a seat. “Are you enjoying your stay here on the Titan? You’ve been with us for about a week now and I figured I should check in, to see how you’re doing. I hope no one’s giving you a hard time.”

Corr stared out into the star lines as he made sure they were going in the right direction.
Letting out a breath he reached in his pocket and took out a cigar. He put it up against his nose as he smelled the sweet Nimerian tobacco. Looking around making sure no one was around he lit it. Unlike years ago the new cigars are pure no added toxins.

He closed his eyes as he thought of the past. He longed to leave there when he was younger but now he could never return not after what he did. He frowned as he took a puff of the cigar. "You need to forget about it." He muttered.

Everett watched with a squint as the captain took the pills and pocketed them instead of taking them in as she had suggested. So far he had seemed like the person who would take the pills if his doctor asked him nicely, but as he pocketed them and sat down in raised a red flag for Eve. There was no reason for him not to take them now, the captain didn't seem like the person who would care when he took the pills. Or anything, really, Eve got the impression that he was the kind of person to just wing everything.

She frowned as she leaned back in her chair and pulled out her drawer, pulling out from within a data pad that she used while she was at work. She liked to keep her official and private things separate, though both were connected inc ase she lost one of them. After some scrolling through files on the data pad she eventually stopped at the medical portfolio of the captain and then peeked up from the screen.

"I prefer Everett. Eve only for lovers and family members, and you're not either of those." She scoffed and lowered the data pad in her hand. She tapped her fingers against the back of the device for a while, the deafening silence pierced by the sound her nails were making with each tap against the plastic. How oddly specific of him to mention Sil...

"Captain, I have dozens of people checking up on me every day. Or rather, coming here for a check up. You know as well as I do that I'm not officially here until after breakfast. And if you want a heart to heart, I'm afraid 15 minutes won't be enough." Eve sqquinted as she better observed the captain in front of her. Now that they were both sitting she noticed something that bugged her. She was rather tall and she always saw that the captain was seemingly the same height as her, but now...fuck, maybe it was just the meds palying with her mind making her think about conspiracy theories. Still, he couldn't have finished workout this fast, unless he was coming here from the shower. Which was just another red flag in her eyes.

With a sigh she shook her head and decided to go along with thise whole shebang for now. "Apart from having to medicate a few dozen STDs on the ship, asked every hour for hungover meds or painkillers for banged toes, no captain, nobody ahs given me a hard time. And I don't expect that anyone really could. Except maybe the cook, Sil, but that's why I have this in the office~" Everett said in a joking manner as she turned to the side and grapped a little spray bottle from amongst the many medical tools that she used to clean wounds with. She turned to the captain with a playful smile and sprayed some water at him from across the desk as she sat down, chuckling to herself as the water vapour dissipated before reaching the captain. If that glorified fish ever wanted to give her trouble she could always just spray some water at her after all. "In all seriousness, I haven't had anything out of the ordinary happen since I came aboard. Anything else you want to talk about? We still ahve like... 15 minutes till breakfast and I'd just be bored anyways."

An alert sounded on the Datapad, waking Kal Rezd Akreen up. She grunted, rolling over and groggily commanding the lights on. She pushed herself upright and reached for her Datapad. “Reminder! After breakfast today at ten there’ll be a mission briefing. Be sure to be there otherwise you won’t be included on the bounty and the payout.” Currently, it was…

She had time for breakfast first.

Yawning, Kal made herself stand, and placed the Datapad back where it was. She proceeded to dress into a baggy, long-sleeved white shirt tucked into an equally plain set of trousers she rolled up at her raised (per Delrothi anatomy) ankle. Finally, she slipped into her black frock and fastened it up. She placed the Datapad into one pocket, a notepad and pen into another, then departing for the cafeteria.

Sil’s expression remained neutral as Everett revealed a bottle of water. Not a gun. Or a knife. Or a syringe. Or those awful glaives she was so fond of. Just a stupid bottle of water. Sil could be a stone-faced god because she always expected the worse and reality tended to disappoint her. How utterly disappointing, she thought as the mist settled on the doctor’s desk. It would take a little more than that to get her out of disguise anyway. Maybe if she unscrewed the top and doused Sil.

“That is good to hear,” the faux-captain said with a friendly smile. He sat with his fingers interlocked in his lap, looking rather business-like, despite being shirtless with a towel draped over his shoulders. “I’m glad you’ve found your niche. Some people struggle with that for months. I think the crew has taken to you quite well. They haven’t had a proper medical professional on board in a long time. Sure, some of them know first aid and… well, we’ve had a drug dealer or two, but that’s not the same. Don’t be too quick to prescribe the easy way out. Sometimes, people need to suffer the repercussions of their actions. Pain is an excellent teacher.”

That last part was probably not something the captain would say, but Sil was fairly certain Everett had seen through her ruse and wanted to get in a few words of her own, even if they were said in his voice. Prior to the doctor’s arrival, Sil had been one of the people crew members went to for drugs and chems. She shot them down nearly every time, but that didn’t stop them from asking, repeatedly. Some people never learn, she thought. Now there was a new candy shop in town. From what she’d seen thus far, Everett had the backbone to say ‘no.’

But, despite the harshness of the warning, the captain nodded and cast a roguish smile her way as he stood to leave. “You’re an intelligent, highly capable woman, Everett, and a true asset to this ship. Though, I do hope you will come to think of us as family. Around here, we look out for one another. We defend one another from threats, both internal and external.”

Upon reaching the open door, she paused and turned to Everett one last time, with a hand resting on the pills in her pocket. “I’ll make sure the captain gets these. I’m a woman of my word, after all.”

Alice was determined to find Sil she just wasn't sure where to find her. She thought about asking Ezro but he was working out so chances were he hadn't seen her. "I'll check with Everett maybe she knows." She headed towards the medical office and was surprised to see Ezro standing in front of the office. "Ezro? Oh I thought you would still be in the gym. Well anyway have you seen Sil I'm starving and she's not in the kitchen and I think one of her droids are malfunctioning. Thought I saw one but bacon in the pancake mix."

Jacen checked his pad and noticed the message. He turned on auto pilot walked towards the briefing room. He could live without breakfast. He took a puff of his cigar as he made his way to the briefing room. He started humming a song as he walked in. He uploaded the Titans trajectory and eta to the coordinates he was given to the main screen.

Everett only rolled her eyes as the pretty obvious Sil finally revealed herseilf in the doorway. She kicked her feet up on the table and reached down for the glaive she had on her belt, pointing with it wards the woman. "Next time try being more convincing Sushi. Or come here without this half assed disguise and then I'll talk. Until then, toodles~" With that Eve reached out for the sprayer and sprayed some water towards the direction of Sil with a smug smile on her face as she watched the "captain" leave her room.

Then a few seconds later she heard the familiar voice of Alice out in the hallway. Oddly enough she couldn't help but like that girl, moreso than she usually "liked" anyone. She was weird and eccentric like her at the best of times, and the young girl reminded Everett of herself when she was younger. For that reason alone she felt like she could be more lax around her than she usually was around people. If she saw ehrsef becoming friends with anyone, it would be this girl. Plus she was too short for Sil to mimic, and that made trusting her a lot easier.

"Alice, is that you?' She spoke up as she took her legs off the table and slid across the mostly empty deck, walking up to the door and peeking outside, towards the "captain" and the young girl. "Why don't you come in for a quick check-up before dinner Alice? I haveN't anything better to do, and you asking around for Sil won't make her get breakfast ready any sooner." She took another step out and beckoned inside the medical facility while she made a sly smirk at Sil as she waited for Alice.

Alejandras, after about half an hour of trying desperately to get a glass of water from the kitchen droid, finally got his quarry. After downing the water, along with the pills, he finally had his energy back. He strode towards the mess hall in await for breakfast. While on his way, he ran into the quartermaster.

"So, I hear that you were on Infernos with Captain Strider. Tell me, what was it like?"

Faux-Ezro’s eyes narrowed on Everett as she woman pointed a glaive at her, called her sushi, and made a comment about her disguise being half-assed. A brief flash of murderous intent crossed her mind, but she squashed it and took the moral high road. “As I said, you are an intelligent and capable woman,” she said calmly before leaving the room, just in time to find herself face to face with the First Mate.

Well, it was Ezro’s face, but… whatever.

The First Mate inquired about Sil’s location and ‘Ezro’ was about to reply when he heard Everett’s voice from within the office, beckoning Alice inside. Sil glanced over her shoulder with a deadpan expression at the doctor’s sly smirk, as if to say ‘I don’t need you to cover for me,’ before she turned to Alice.

“2398 is functioning as intended,” she said in her own voice, not Ezro’s. Sil’s tone was calm, even, and utterly lacking in emotion as she pulled out her data pod and cycled through some video feeds of what the droids were up to. One video showed tiny metal spider limbs sprinkling bits of bacon into a bowl of batter and vigorously whipping it. Three of the droids had already finished their tasks and were doing nothing, waiting for Sil to arrive and give further instructions.

Satisfied that they were on schedule, she returned the pod to her wrist. “My business here has concluded. I shall return to the kitchen at once, ma’am. Breakfast will be served at the usual time,” she said as she revealed the bottle of pills from her pocket. “When you find him, could you please give these to the captain. They are from Doctor Everett.”

Ezro finally reached the lift and took it up to the second floor, where he quickly entered his room and undressed. The clothes were discarded in the laundry chute for the grunts downstairs to take care of. With that, he once again returned to his shower and rinsed off in some temperate water that burned ever so slightly against his skin. His skin was washed, and his hair scrubbed inch by inch as it clung to his head. After all the soap was washed off, he sat for another good long while to think and relax for a moment before returning to his crew.

The water was shut off, and the captain dried off with a white towel, after which he returned to his bedroom. The now wet fabric was cast to the floor, and Ezro swiftly dressed in his usual getup of his old Officers uniform. A white t-shirt, combat pants, black boots, and the jacket that was once ornamented with various metals and awards. Now it was just barren, a clean slate, akin to how his new life was. For the finishing touch, Ezro looked himself in the mirror as he took a hair tie and tamed the beast upon his head back into a ponytail that rested at the base of his skull.

Ready for the day, The Ex-Officer headed out of his room and onto the lift once more which took him straight up to the top floor just outside the bridge. The double set of mechanical doors slid over with a satisfying vrrrr, followed by a female automated voice declaring: “Captain on Deck.”

The one he sought, his helmsman Jacen, was nowhere to be found.

“Damnit Corr, where the hell are you?” Ezro grunted before turning face and heading for the briefing room.

There he did find the helmsman, busying himself with a cigarette and sitting alone.

“I’m surprised to see you up here by yourself Corr, everything alright?” He questions as he sat down across from the man.

Corr looked at him. "Yeah I'm doing fine sir." He said blowing out a bit of smoke. "I just prefer being alone. Less people get hurt that way." He said. "Thanks for letting me join." He said.

He looked over at the monitor. "Do you ever just think back on your past actions with regret?" He asked taking another puff on his cigar. He took out a new one and offered it to the captain

“All the time my friend, all the time.” He sat down and accepted the Cigar from him Helmsman, before lighting up and taking a drag from it. “But the past is often times something we need to let die, we don’t forget it per day, but we can’t allow it to poison our minds with doubt and forget. That’ll kill us inside quite literally.” He blew out a long billow of smoke.

“But that’s why you’re hear with all of us now. To let go the things of the past and make something out of this new life. You and I share a similar past, tied in the ITF’s heinous actions. But now we’re freed from that sort of lifestyle, and now we can live as we please.” The captain smiled, “Pirates.”

He shook his head. "Your right." He said letting out a breath. "I'll try and remember that." He motioned his head to the screen. "I put our trajectory and eta to those coordinates. Mind if I ask what's going on?" He asked as he leaned in the chair.

“You’ll find out soon enough.” Ezro said with a smirk “For now just relax and enjoy yourself.”
Ezro tipped back and continued dragging on the cigar until it had withered away to a mere butt end. “Oh, and another thing. About that whole studying from others. Don’t fall into that mindset. My crew can be looked on as friends, and so you should interact and trust them as such.” A firm hand was placed on the Helmsmans shoulder. Never believe that you are alone. Now,” Ezro stood and discarded the cigars remains. “I’m getting rather hungry, so I’m gonna get some statistics done for our mission and then I’ll head to breakfast. I expect to see you there.”
