Chapter 1

What is a Hero?

It was a normal day in the great city of City-5, a grandiose sea port capital, known for high rises, luxury apartments and restaurants, and high costs of living. Life was as it normally was; people were shopping, doing their mundane white collar work, sipping on their latte's and living a worry free life in the sunny and warm weather when it hit. A dark portal arbitrarily formed in the sky, with eyes only able to look up at the strange anomaly. When chatter had begun, in less than a few seconds, an object fell from the portal and slammed into the ground, shaking the very cities foundation like an earthquake hitting a 7.

What was once a cheerful and carefree day had become one of fear as a large demon appeared in the city and shouted his name; Kyon, Demon Lord of Destruction and one of many Prince's. He had began attacking when heroes arrived. The Hero Association struggling to get what they could under control.

Try as they did, their efforts were all in vain as none could even lay a finger on the demonic being, especially as a legion of flying smaller demons appeared from the portal above, attacking the citizens of City-5. It was only when Galactic Shield appeared that a push back was truly coming. However, Galactic Shield was eventually killed, easily at that, by Kyon. With this, Nagoya, or "Star" began defending the citizens from the flying monsters, with Captain Sweatband making his way there. Leo, another Class-A hero appeared, as did Crunch, who bravely took on the Demon Lord himself. Many heroes appeared as a rallying force became the candle light illuminating itself in the dark world that was City-5.

Gluttony, Crunch, Leo, and more swarmed and attacked the demon lord, eventually bringing him down in a surprising manner, ending the terror.

City-5 was left in ruins with many people dead in the thousands. The Hero Association put funds towards the building of a city memorial for respect for the lost souls. Four large obelisks were built with the names of all known civilians killed and a giant statue of the hero who died in battle; Galactic Shield.

UPDATE:

Two events have drawn attention to the Hero Association and they have took immediate action by sending a few heroes to the locations. Results have yet to be known. Other heroes are on their own in the cities or training or doing nothing.
