21st-52nd centuries
2033- The third Terran world war begins. Nuclear icbms are almost instantly used however advanced laser defense grids cut down all missiles resulting in a grueling conventional war which lasted nine years and claimed the lives of nearly a billion worldwide. No winner was recorded as The UN, The USA, The UAE, The CCP, Russia, And almost every other nation that could be considered a super power was nearly completely broken.
2042- The Third Terran World war ends with the formation of the Federation of Humanity. All remaining nations unite and in one unified move depose the worlds super powers and absorb them into the Federation. For the first time in history mankind is united under one global government.
2046- the rebuilding and uplifting phase begins after a new constitution, Bill of rights, and legal system is created for the citizens of the world. the powerful nations of old are rebuilt, meanwhile the “third world” nations are elevated to match their neighbors. After a little over 20 years the world is all caught up and the idea of a third world nation would begin to fade.
2068- while technology stagnated after the war during the rebuilding phase of the federation afterwards came a huge boom. The prospect of cheap digital universities accessible to everyone allowed for a massive surge of Highly educated people and a huge leap in technological development. In only 22 years mankind had cured the vast majority of deadly and debilitating diseases, nuclear fusion was finally cracked and the martian colony project had grown to the point where terraforming could begin. The imaginations of man were divided between improving life for people, and reaching out towards the stars. Luckily with peace reigning humanity could afford to do both.
2099- Almost as if to mark the end if the century the Terra-Ark project was completed and the earth launched its first Ever heavy starship. The three kilometer long Ark of Mars left the orbit between earth and the moon and left on a two week flight to mars with 100,000 people, livestock, crops, and environmental alteration engines to convert the surface of mars to an earthlike one.
2123- The terra arc of mars after 24 long years has produced a breathable atmosphere on mars. The martian population has grown to nearly 600,000 with the flow of tourists and now natural born martians growing exceptionally over the decades. Mars creates its own nation which promptly joins the federation in exchange for continued sovereignty. The development of artificial wombs, lifespan extending medicine, and much safer living situations has resulted in a huge boom of population which is met with a proposal to develop and send out more Arc projects.
2142- the earths population reaches 14 billion. Three Arc ships are constructed each bigger than the first. One is sent to venus, One to titan, and the third to Europa. Each one contains specifically modified terraforming engines designed for the planet they are landing on and hold one million people. They are nearly three times the size of the first ark at just over 8.4 kilometers long.
2158- After only 16 years Europa and Titan are now habitable with each holding a huge population of over 10 million. Mass exoduses start and space ports are built. Six years later The Venus atmosphere is completed and mass migration to the four new colonies for a time solves the earths population problem.
2166- Professor Nigel Gormontz of mars discovers Darkspace, a parallel dimension made up of Darkmatter folding time and space and believed to be responsible to the expansion of the universe is discovered. The entire world begins pouring into this field of study however it isnt until 21 years later when Prof. Gormontz Daughter Daisy invents the Dark Drive which can allow access to this Darkspace. Using this technology humanity gains its first step into FTL travel. The Star Arc project is started once the technology has been adequately tested.
2198- thirty two years of unified effort between all colonies of the federation results in the production of the First interstellar Colony ship of mankind, The Eden 2. This monsterous vessel is 27 kilometers long and can hold up to 20 million civilians in medically induced comatose states. Designed with the intent of colonizing multiple worlds this huge vessel takes two years to crew and equip due to the logistics and transport of materials because of this the ship is christened and sent away in the first days of the 23rd century.
2202- Two years of travel through Darkspace has the vessel arriving at alpha centauri where four potential planets are found. Colonization efforts begin and surprisingly all four colonies are functional. With the successes being reported mankind collectively celebrates and production if four more star arcs begin.
