  It's fucking brutal out here! For one, vampires and demons exist. Hell, haunted houses are a very real threat to your life. That's not the end of it. There are actual humans who do their bidding, sometimes without being put into one of those trances that you hear about in old movies. They do it of their own free will because evil is evil. And, there is talk of an old evil that was vanquished long ago rising back to life, slowly, through these pawns that reside in the seemingly innocuous town of Sunnydale, California. Is there anything to stand against the diabolical forces that threaten to prey on the innocent...and not so innocent?
  
  New to Sunnydale High is the Slayer, whose origin is as bloody as it gets. Along for the ride are her half-brother and her Watcher, who is their legal guardian following the gruesome deaths of their mother and her father. They will acquire new allies along the way, as well as a few powerful enemies. Ultimately, the balance and order of the world will be fought for at the very mouth of Hell. Will that be enough to quell the oldest of evils? Are they gonna survive the many days and nights of fighting the fight? Will they make it to fucking senior prom?   Ever feel like you're gifted but cursed at the same time? Followed by death and destruction, the Slayer lives in a constant flux of fear and courage. Her mother and father were killed because she didn't know who she was early enough. Her guilt for this is worn on her sleeve and she has vowed not to let another one of her loved ones die in vain ever again. As a former cheerleader, she was already in great shape to do this.   The older half-brother, who nearly lost his mind on the night of the murders. He was placed in a mental hospital, for his own good in the end. In the hospital, strange things seemed to happen around him...things that the Watcher hoped that modern medicine would be able to mend away. To the Watcher, it seems weird that this young man was able to...nevermind.   He was supposed to help them. He was supposed to protect them until she could do it herself. Maybe if he'd approached the parents before approaching her, they'd have had a chance. But, we can't dwell on what was supposed to happen. The Watcher has his tricks and talents, passed down through the Brotherhood for generations. He is her teacher and her shield.   They're a little bookish, but that really doesn't matter. He/She is a breath of fresh air that is utterly human and helpful. They also know what they research and they've always had a nose in the occult section. Usually seen in the library, they make use of being a complete nerd brain.   She's the "It" girl, the one everyone looks to be or worships. Queen Bee material, she's never heard a no in her life. However, she's prone to being the damsel in distress type. Usually, she narrowly misses being taken advantage of--or worse--out of sheer luck. But, since the Slayer's arrival to town, her luck has run dry. Real dry.   To rebel against your nature is hard enough. To fall for your attempted killer is unheard of. Since the first time they skirmished, He/She has known that there was something different about this girl. They've been around for a couple hundred years, but they've never met someone like her. Maybe they have a soul. Maybe it's the sheer rage and passion she brings forth from them. But, for the first time in a long time, they can almost feel their heart beating.   Mankind has tried long and hard to give it a name, to give it a story. To explain why it exists, to reason with it. It exists for corruption. It wants to take over and let chaos and calamity ensue.   The right and left hands of the First, these two demons are not as powerful as the ancient demons they were born from...but they make due. Having mixed their blood with mortals, creating Vampires, they control those who feed on other humans and perpetuate the race. One is whole heartedly loyal to the First, while the other wishes to be free of their role.
