The ‘Friend of a Friend’
The Seen Deadly Sins

"In the beginning, God created the Heavens and Earth."
Genesis 1:1

Plot
There are things that cannot be explained in this world. Demons, ghosts, monsters, the like. They can be spotted in the old woman with the glass eye who always seems to keep her gaze just slightly too firmly on you at the bus stop. They can be seen in the quiet kid who sits silently by himself at the backdoor of the old seven eleven on Market Street, his skills just slightly too pale to be natural. They can be seen in the playful young lady who strides down the dark streets as if she owns them, none of the men bothering to jeer at her out of fear of whatever that slightly inhuman tinge to her spirit is. Some people recognize the monsters, some ignore them and pretend to have never noticed the old lady's smile out of the corner of their eyes, or how the kid seemed to flicker, or how the last man to tell the woman to smile vanished a few weeks back.
These monsters have been forgotten and ignored for many years. There are more important matters on the horizon.
Gang wars have become a common occurrence in the port-city of Daon, primarily between the two gangs known as the revolutionary Ushye Rioters and the powerful Ordai Dock Mafia. Following the death of a young boy who had been related to the leader of the Ushye Rioters, the Ordai Dock Mafia, in an attempt to maintain the appearance of peace in the city, had covered up the cop-lead death, causing one of the largest scandals in the city's history. In turn, there is a war one two fronts; the poverty-stricken Ushye Rioters fighting off the Ordai Dock Mafia as well as attempting to highlight the corruption of the police in the city while the Ordai Dock Mafia simply attempts to maintain their business as usual.
This was all going steadily and normal up until a few days ago.
It shocked the streets, the silence from both fronts of the war.

Some people theorized that someone powerful had been killed. Some said that a third front had arisen. The more religious, and the more lunatic, people said that only the wrath of God himself could end the fighting.
Theoretically, they were all correct.

Seven siblings, simply referred to as 'The Sins' had seemingly appeared overnight, claiming a large chunk of land from the supposed all-powerful Ordai Docks and putting a sharp barrier between both the revolutionaries and the mafia in their strategic boundaries as they claimed only a couple blocks, separating the poor from the rich with only a couple blocks of territory.

It is six days into the silence. Nobody knows who these siblings are or why they have invested themselves in the outcome of this war.

Some say it's for power. Some say it's for money. Some say they just find it amusing.

All that is known is that one of the former Ordai clubs that had been taken in the Sin's new territory has been closed for six days, each day, counting down with a bright red spray painted sign across the front of the building. Nobody can be seen entering or leaving, even the sprayed paint across the bricks seeming to appear all on its own. This morning, a bright red 1 appeared spray-painted across the front of the abandoned club.

Setting
This roleplay takes place in the fictional city of Daon, a coastal city in the North-Eastern area of the United States. It's a rather large city, about the size of New York City with about the same population. It is late Fall in the time of the roleplay, without even the first snowfall of the season having begun yet.
The city has faced a lot of issues with poverty in the recent years due to the shift of most of the factory jobs becoming more advanced level and requiring higher education, something which has also lacked in proper funding for the last twenty-so years. In turn, there has also been some animosity between the higher and lower classes due to the education barriers, leading many of the more poor areas to become cramped and rough while the higher-classes live in nicer suburbs on the edges of the large city and near the center of the city in apartments while the poor live in tenants.
A few years ago, there was a large amount of publicity surrounding the death of two young men who had been shot during a police chase, both of which died. In turn, a woman who had been related to one of the boys and had been involved in the political life of the city had risen to begin a stance against the police, inevitably being shot by a radical and dying shortly after. However, her revolution continued on to become the Ushye Rioters, with the power being traded between the members of the group with no true solidified leader to the constantly shifting revolution. To try and cover up the cities so-called 'embarrassment', the Ordai Dock Mafia attempted to cover up these deaths, leading to them to be blamed for the death of the previous woman leader of the revolution.
There are also many gangs in the city, the most prominent one being the Ordai Dock Mafia who own most of the ports of the city as well as hold a large influence over the dockside entertainment sectors of the city, also happening to reside close to the tensions of the revolution.
The final gang, the Sins, only recently secured a small portion between both the Revolution and the Ordai Docks, taking a small amount of the latter's land forcefully and securing it as their own.

If you are a human in the roleplay, you will have a lot more of a choice where you reside and may pick anywhere in the city as long as you describe it.

If you are a Sin, you will reside with the other sins either in or near their claimed sector.

If you are a Supernatural, (Though not a sin,) you may pick wherever you want to live, though it is recommended you take caution in choosing. People with high influence can live in the wealthier parts, people with lower influence will likely live in poorer areas.

The Sins
Below is for anyone playing a Sin and contains potential spoilers.
The sins are all siblings that are the official Seven Deadly Sins themselves. The reason for them stopping the war was not for their own pleasure, but rather from them fleeing from an old problem, it unintentionally halting the fight between the two groups as they took residency in the human world. Each of the sins had previously endured intense training in order to take their positions, training that sadly claimed the life of one of their former sisters. Fleeing from the person who they had been attempting to learn from, they entered the human realm and happened to find themselves between the war. Living in a city of sin was the perfect alibi for them. It wasn't ideal, but it was better than continuing to suffer training under the man that had indirectly caused the death of one of their closest friends and their own sibling. As far as their opinions on that subject go? It's up to you. Not all of them are proud of the past and will likely want to look to the future. After all, they're in a city of sin. What could ever be a better place for them other than right here?

Ezekiel Sin
cfa9e0ff43db84c5d3b5d99b6c893de4.jpg

Appearance : Ezekiel appears as a male in his mid-twenties, having scraggly blond hair and light blue eyes. He fairs more on the lean side, oftentimes dressing in simple white dress shirts, black or grey slacks, and occasionally with a jacket or an apron according to if he is working or not. He has rather sharp cheekbones and is clean-shaven.
Sin-Related Ability : Ezekiel is a bit of a wildcard when it comes to abilities. Due to his tendency to use his ability as a last resort, it has become somewhat shrouded in mystery to most of those who are aware of the Sins. The primary basis of his ability seems to follow the premise that he is capable of saving his energy for later usage. This has been witnessed in hell only a handful of times with different themes each time, though the one consistent aspect seems to be his great speed when using his stored energy. His ability also causes him to remain idle for long periods of time, either through sleeping or simply resting.
Interests/Skills : Ezekiel seems to be both a decent cook and an excellent mixer, shown through his job as a bartender for the Sins Club. As a more hidden talent, he seems to have a passion for teaching, shown through his discussions with Ellie as he teaches her about the human world.
Affiliation : The Sins.
Personality : Ezekiel has a kind and somber personality, often being the listener in most conversations while others speak. He enjoys listening to and talking with his younger siblings and teaching them what he has picked up about the human world in his time prior to them all fleeing Hell. With all his kindness though, he is also flirtatious and a bit of a trickster, taking slight amusement in playing small tricks on humans at any chance given. He is a natural leader, being the one to originally scout out the human world before moving to bring his siblings with him. For all his leading skills though, he also shows a lot of fear and paranoia, even going as far to reject the trauma the siblings had endured in Hell while being taught.
Other : Ezekiel is the second oldest of the Sins, right behind Malachi. After Malachi left though, Ezekiel was given the role to lead the sins, according to their mentor. Enduring similar brutality that had pushed his older brother out, Ezekiel quickly snapped under the pressure, stooping to one of the lowest points in his life as he let the Mentor move past him and begin trying to train the next youngest sin. Sadly, the next sibling's training did not fair well and the Sins lost one of their sisters that day. Ezekiel began using the fact that the Mentor ignored him to his own advantage, sneaking out to the human world in order to look for a place to bring his siblings. Eventually, he found Daon, the city of sin. He enlisted the help of one of his closest guards, Hera, and snuck out from hell with his siblings, claiming the territory with Hera's help. The future is up to the rest of them though.

Ellie Sin
cf7b468402bcd8bd42f47493d5630578.jpg

Appearance : Ellie has a strange appearance, her ability causing her appearance to take on specific aspects depending on the sexual preferences of someone. If someone prefers blondes, she will have lighter hair. If someone prefers taller girls, she will seem slightly taller than normal. If someone prefers men, she will have a slightly more androgynous appearance, (Though still distinctly female.) She tends to favor flowery dresses such as sundresses, flower crowns, and the sort. On consistent thing is that she seems to have a dislike for heels and shoes in general, often electing to walk barefoot rather than wearing any footwear.
Sin-Related Ability : Ellie's ability is an unconscious one, taking affect without her actively trying to use it. It allows her to appeal to most people, either as a sexual partner or as a close friend. This allows her to easily sway people to either align with her ideas or to change their minds.
Interests/Skills : To put it simply, if Ellie could dabble in everything, she would certainly try. She is fascinated by most human things, seeming to be completely absorbed in the ideas of gardening, finger-painting, and mortal magic. While she adores these, she is not exceptional at any of them, barely able to paint a cat or hide a quarter, though she does have a little bit of a green thumb.
Affiliation : The Sins.
Personality : Ellie is oftentimes mistaken for being self-absorbed and stupid, shown by her childlike fascination with everything. Despite these appearances though, she is actually quite sweet and sheltered, taking the time to make sure that everyone is happy and having fun whenever she is given the chance. She seems to make friends easily, befriending Hera after the Hell's Guard refused to even address any of the other sins upon leaving Hell. Due to her naive nature though, she is often left out in the dark when her siblings talk about more important matters, a detail that she has come to recognize as 'what they think is best for her'. Regardless, she loves all her siblings and only wants them to be happy.
Other : Ellie is one of the youngest siblings of the group, having spent the least time learning from their former Mentor. Because of this, she has trouble relating to the trauma encountered by the older siblings. Nonetheless, she tries her best.

Malachi Zander
large.jpg

Nickname : Iscariot, Rogue, & Mal.
Sin-Related Ability : Can enter a state of rage and has total flame control.
Interests/Skills : Fighting and drinking.
Affiliation : The Sins.
Personality : Malachi is a harsh person to start off with. He is caring towards his siblings and protective. He is easily aggravated, and quick to lash out.
Other : He has a total of 57 tattoos that cover his body. They range from Norse runes, dark magic sigils, demonic tribal tattoos, and tribal tattoos. He has total of five piercings. Two in each ear and a lip ring in his lower left side of his lip. He has super strength and speed. He can control and wield lightning, and he can heal minor wounds.

Jonah (Jo)
b362ca7794f8d2bb2f0b073dbfd2a6ca.jpg

Appearance : A bit baby-faced, Jonah takes the appearance of a male in his early twenties. He's particularly pale with wispy platinum blonde curls and grey eyes. He stands at around 5'6" and seems to be a bit lanky, though that fact is often covered up by baggy sweaters. Generally, he has a bit of a somber look about him.
Sin-Related Ability : Jonah has the ability to materialize any inanimate object that he desires. Initially, he loved his power, because it allowed him to have whatever he wanted, but in his many years, it has grown to leave him feeling a longing for something more. Now, he only uses it when others ask him to. This ability can be useful if ever in a combat situation, however, typically, the object is no larger than a human. Anything larger than that puts a serious strain on him.
Interests/Skills : Jonah isn't particularly good at anything, but he's very interested in experiencing everything the world has to offer him. That being said, he switches between interests very swiftly. The only thing that's seemed to stick is his love for animals that he's developed since coming to the human world.
Affiliation : The Sins.
Personality : Jonah's demeanor can best be described as manic-depressive. On one hand, he's very excitable an ambitious, driven by his innate desire to experience and obtain everything, but more often than not, he falls into these gloomy spells where all that he can think about is how unsatisfied he is with his life. When he's like this, he can be a bit pathetic, even clingy as he relies on his siblings for affection and validation.
Other : Jonah is a "middle-child", something he attributes to his general feeling of mediocrity among his fellow Sins. Since arriving in the human world, he's picked up a stray cat, which he's come to find as a comfort animal of sorts.

Vivoree (Vi)
VSw4LcY.jpg

Appearance : Vi is, first of all, a girl of relatively short stature (5'1"). She has fair skin, particularly freckled around the area of her nose. The ends of her jet black hair are wavy, making her sometimes look unkempt. Her green eyes typically have an air of pride and superiority, though frequently half-shut. Vi doesn't specifically have a fashion sense. She usually wears comfortable baggy clothes.
Sin-Related Ability : Though she's small, Vivoree is like a compressed powerhouse. She has the ability to somehow gain a sudden burst of strength (but it has its limits). Because of it, Vivoree started to think she was better than others. Subconsciously this ability makes it hard for her to choose between "fight or flight," fearing others would be better.
Affiliation : The Sins.
Personality : Vi isn't the obnoxious, overly-loud type of arrogant person. She doesn't pick fights but when she feels threatened or considers something as a challenge, it's hard to not speak out. She tends to try to act like she's the oldest of the siblings even if she's one of the youngest. Manners don't matter to her when she goes against someone's decision, especially if she thinks that decision is bad, Naive behavior aside, Vi is a fun person to be with.

NPCS [Can be controlled by anyone.]

- Hera -
Hera is a former guard of Hell, having assisted the Sins in their escape as per the request of Ezekiel. She is sullen and angry, snapping at people over the smallest of things. Despite this, she is exceedingly loyal to the Sins and has vowed to serve them until her death. Rising from Hell cost her most of her abilities, leaving her behind in a mostly mortal state with only her strength and stamina remaining. She is a heavy smoker.

- Fikhar -
Fikhar, the sin of Envy, is a moody male appearing to be in his late teens or early twenties. He tends to enjoy causing trouble, having a mindset much similar to Hera with the 'fight first, ask questions later' sort of attitude. That being said, he seems to have a passion for human magic tricks, often enjoying presenting these tricks to his younger siblings as well as using them to scam people off the street. His ability allows him to use watered-down variants of other Sin's abilities, such as being able to summon anything that can fit in the palm of his hand when interacting with Jonah, or gaining a boost in charisma when interacting with Ellie. He can only use these abilities when in the presence of their owner.

- Cain -
Cain is a bit of a wildcard for the Sins, having been a religious man before unwillingly becoming the sin of Gluttony. While being a religious man though, he has picked up on many feats of true magic. Unlike Fikhar's simple mortal magic, Cain has learned how to manipulate many of the dark arts of the world. Sadly, this was also what lead to him becoming a sin. Many of his spells, primarily consisting of runes and sigils, are very resource consuming, taking large quantities of things that are oftentimes rather hard to obtain. He is somewhat prude and exceptionally quiet, making him often the last to be noticed in a crowd, though he is kind and generous at heart, only using the spells when needed due to their large demands.

Name : Your character's name.
Nickname(?) : Does your character have any nicknames?
Appearance : Pictures are encouraged, descriptions are fine too.
Sin-Related Ability : Each sin will have its own ability. As an example, Sloth can save his energy for later, Wrath can go into 'Rage', etc. (Only applies if your character is a sin. If they're supernatural but not a sin, then you can still decide on an ability.)

Interests/Skills : Is there anything that your character is particularly good at?
Gang/Affiliation : Are you a Sin, a Revolutionary, in the Ordai, etc.
Personality : What does your character act like?
Extra : Here you can add anything you feel should be added. Backstories, two-truths-&-one-lie, etc.

"C.. A.. Y.." He listened to the soft voice murmuring just outside the elegantly decorated library, the soft pitter-patter of rain drifting in from the open window.

"Cay?" He calmly asked, hearing a pause of silence for a moment. He would not outright tell her the answer, part of the learning experience was for her to teach herself the correct phrasing.

"That's..." She waited for another moment, questioning herself. "That's what it says.." She murmured.

He brought his gaze away from his own book, something on drink mixing, and instead looked at his younger sister. She had her brows furrowed as she looked down at the thin colorful book gently laying over her folded legs, the thin white fabric of her dress folded carefully over her smaller frame. Around her, a carved mahogany banister framed the image, the soft pattering of rain on the city behind her providing a backdrop. Even in the beauty of the city and the old-fashioned library, Ezekiel still found himself forcing the girl to focus on her reading. It's not like it was anything hard, but it was a valuable skill. She needed to learn. Or at least start picking up on it so she could teach herself without the aid of her other siblings.

"Then read the sentence, sweet pea." He said, tilting his head slightly and resting his chin on his folded hand, closing his own book over his hand.

Ellie pouted for a moment before turning her gaze back to the book and looking at it for a moment. "The mean dog..." She paused for a moment, mouthing the next word as she tried to sound it out. Ezekiel was glad that the Hellish language seemed to have an automatic transferral to human languages.. He couldn't imagine the poor girl struggling to order in restaurants or trying to ask for an exit. "Chased!" She shouted suddenly, breaking his train of thought with a bright smile as she shouted the word, a couple of people sitting a short distance away shooting a swift glare to them before returning to their studying. Ezekiel frowned back at them though, noticing one of the students in the group to already be seemingly passed out over his textbook and materials. He could see a fragment of himself in the person. It was the city of Sin, after all.

"A bit quieter, dear." Ezekiel softly said, Ellie's cheeks flushing slightly red as she realized she had caused the brief annoyance. She would nod before returning to her reading.

"The mean dog chased the.." She paused again. "Lacy cay."

Ezekiel calmly watched her, noticing the shift in her eyes as she said the last two words, recognizing both to be a mistake. She sighed softly and furrowed her brow again. Ezekiel calmly set his book aside, moving from his seat to help her. Even if he was against helping her, it's not like you could just point a blind man in a direction and tell them to find something. "So," He began, as he pulled himself over the slight ledge between the window and the inside of the library. "How do you spell 'Lacy'?" He asked.

Ellie paused for a moment. She looked down at the book for a moment as if it would give her an answer before reading the word. "L-A-C-Y." She said, remembering that C makes a softer noise than that of the word she was trying to read. "So this is Lazy?" She asked, pointing at the word.

Ezekiel shrugged casually, laying beside her and watching her try to spell. It was a surprisingly comfortable spot, he'd probably start sitting beside her more often on these little trips. "Is it?" He asked, waiting for her to try it herself.

"The mean dog chased the lazy cay." She said again, frowning at the last word.

"What's a cay?" Ezekiel asked.

"... Is it an animal?"

"No."

"... I give up." She sighed.

"No you don't, you're close. Are you sure you have no answer?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at her.

She waited for a moment, then nodded. He sighed this time.

"Then let's go back. That's your job for tonight. Figure out what a cay is and try to make a little more progress in the book. No asking our siblings to read it for you. They can help but they're not allowed to do it for you. Understand?" Ezekiel asked as he stood up and held out a hand for the woman.

Ellie nodded and gave a soft smile to him, reaching out and grabbing his hand so he could tug her up off the floor.

"I already checked the books out," He said as he took his book on mixing drinks back off the ground, grabbing a few other books; one on gambling, one interesting one on Russian swears, as well as one on party tricks, and of course Ellie's own Mean Dog; Lazy Cat book. He swiped Ellie's soft white scarf off the stack of books and turned around, lazily draping it around her shoulders. She smiled again at him and followed him as he walked towards one of the library sections.

Ezekiel glanced up as he walked. That was one of the reasons he liked this library.. Sure, it was beautiful with one of the largest selections in Daon, but it was also old. Meaning it had no cameras.

He lead Ellie to the teen-romance section, which happened to oftentimes lack many people due to the library being mostly populated with either students or older generations, and glanced around to ensure nobody was watching before he lightly touched Ellie's hand, the two of them vanishing with only the faintest scent of sulfur left behind.

26f93b0bd602e22304fd599afcc3f67f.jpg

The two reappeared within the cozy pub space, Ezekiel frowning slightly as he casually fanned away the faint stench of sulfur that followed with their appearance, Ellie lightly coughing beside him. Guess the stench gets worse when you get a bit of actual fresh air. But there was also something else there -- something that stunk a lot more than sulfur.

"Hera," He said flatly before even noticing her standing behind the counter, the short-haired women fiddling with something in the sink as she swore under her breath, trying desperately to rid of the smell of the cigarette she had just been lighting up inside. Disgusting habit. "You know not to smoke inside."

"Get fucking used to it. Like hell humans are going to obey the no-smoking sign. Desperate damn things, just looking for their next fucking fix of nicotine." She growled out, words gravelly and sharp as they ignored the contradiction of her own nicotine fix.

Ezekiel raised an eyebrow but dismissed her comment, instead casually strolling to the bar with his books and dumping the largest and most vulgar of the books off onto the counter, also setting the mixing book beside it while sitting down. Hera raised an eyebrow at both of the books, barely lingering her gaze for long on the mixing book but seeming more confuzzled by the swears book. "It's for you." Ezekiel calmly stated as he pushed the book towards her and let his eyes flicker across their selection of drinks. There were sure a lot of options, something to be proud of considering only a week ago most of it had been smashed while frightening the former owner of the selection out into the cold. "Scotch." He said flatly, deciding to let her surprise him with the brand.

Hera snorted slightly but made no move to get his drink. "What's with the book?"

Ellie tilted her head at the two and approached them, sitting down beside Ezekiel like a puppy following a kid. She looked at Hera and gave her a bright smile, Hera noticing the woman's look and turning her head away from her, seeming to quickly find that making the drink was the best option rather than linger. Ellie's smile drooped a little as the other woman ignored her.

"You're Russian now. Feel free to find some videos on how to adopt the accent and all. This is a mixing-pot city full of different cultures. It would be absurd for all of us to sound similar." He said casually, tapping his hand lightly while resting his chin on his other hand.

Hera brought the drink over to him after a bit and set it down, Ezekiel taking a small sip and giving an accepting nod to the drink's quality.

Hera snorted again. "Russian? How about you? You lot going to be doing some of that-" She paused for a moment, flicking the book open and glancing at the first word she found on the page. "Gav-no?" She read, smirking slightly against her better judgment.

"I don't know what you could possibly mean? Considering I am working behind the counter as well, why would I ever put on a fake accent?" He hummed, a faint British lilt taking over his formerly bland words. He smirked back at her as she continued to skim the book instead of responding. "Oh, by the way," He began, glancing around for a few moments. "Where are the others? I have something for Jonah, and possibly Vivoree too if she is interested in sharing." Ezekiel said as he tapped the book on gambling. He figured it could be an interesting way to bring the two into the business. For Jonah, perhaps it could be something that he would be interested in trying due to it requiring the earning of the rewards rather than them suddenly being given. For Vivoree, well, he simply felt like she would enjoy the competitive edge to it.

Tired grey eyes gazed out the large picture window, matching in color to the dreary weather outside. The rain softly pelted the glass, the constant tapping noise bringing comfort to the busy mind of the male figure currently sprawled out on his mattress.

Jonah shifted, letting one of his arms fall from its place and over the edge of the bed, fingers just barely reaching the cold floor bellow. A frustrated groan escaped his lips as his gaze shifted from the window and to his room, specifically, the piles and piles of useless junk. Despite having only been here a short while, Jonah had already been through a surprising amount of human pastimes. In most recent memory were, of course, paint-by-number (completed, though sloppily), cross-stitch (abandoned), Rubik's cube (solved, and then solved again), and paddle-board (broken). Eventually, his eyes fell on what was supposed to have been his next venture, a near-pristine pair of roller skates sitting neatly on the floor, just waiting to be broken in. Too bad that today the powers-that-be decided it was time for rain.

A quick trip to the pub was had earlier in the day, the Sin hoping that one of his siblings could teach him something--perhaps Ezekiel would finally teach him how to bar-tend, now that things were settled--only to find it empty, save for a grumpy former Guard of Hell who didn't look like she was teaching much of anything today. Searching around their dwelling for other siblings had Jonah turning up empty-handed, and he eventually, reluctantly, returned to the room that was now "his."

Cue, now: a being left alone with his thoughts for too long, dwelling on all of his shortcomings and disappointments. While this was not uncommon for Jonah, it felt exemplified by the fact that he was now living (or at least, attempting to live) a simple human life. As if he hadn't felt insignificant before, among his six siblings, now he was only one of 7.5 billion.

This may, in fact, have been the Sin's first ever existential crisis.

Eventually, he decided, today's activity would be standing out in the rain, for he had never done that before, and it was better than hiding up in his room, alone save for the fluffy cat he had taken in, who was still yet to be named. Jonah made his way outside, flinching at the first contact of cold water, but quickly growing used to the sensation. He was actually rather fond of it, after a while. Perhaps he would be willing to experience this again, he thought as he reentered the pub a few minutes later, this time walking in to find two of his siblings. His face lit up only slightly at the sight of them. He approached the conversation, paying no mind to the fact that he was dripping wet, leaving a trail of water in his path. Hearing his name, he turned toward his brother, who hadn't seemed to notice his entrance.

"Something for me?" he repeated, his typically monotonous timbre sounding almost a bit excited. Almost.

[/div]

xxxVivoree's eyes shot open as if there was an emergency, as if closing her eyes had become a dangerous thing. The first thing she felt was the mild buzzing in her head. She sat up on her bed, only then noticing the pitter patter of the rain. She gazed out the window, watching as droplets of rain slid down. There wasn't any light, as far as she could see. Only a dull, grey sky stretching along the horizon. She assumed this was a thing most people wouldn't consider lovely, but she found it odd, difficult even, to find something wrong about rain. It's not like the sun won't rise again, right? From the carousal of thoughts came another - a sudden awareness of where she was.

xxxHer eyes flickered around the room, the only lightsource being the single window beside her bed. She closed her eyes again, willing for her sleep to return, for her mind to fall back into her dreams, but it won't. Standing up, she scanned the room once more. It was practically empty, without the presence of any decorating piece. It spelled out "simple" and "minimal," with only four or five necesarry pieces not including everyday tools. Yet, everything was clean. Vivoree would never let herself dwell in a place where her mind would not be at rest. Then again, even with a comfortable room, Vivoree felt utterly useless the past days.

xxxStanding up and grabbing a seemingly old umbrella from the corner of the room, the girl decided she would do something today. She wasn't sure exactly what she was going to do, but her feet dragged her to the pub. It became a daily routine for her. She would have quick conversations with Hera, before wandering off elsewhere.

Maybe today I'll try smok- Making her way inside, her thoughts were interrupted at the sight of her siblings, one was dripping wet.

Malachi stretched his arms as he sat on one of the many benches on the streets of Daon. He watched the rain fall around him and smiled as it ran down his face. He ran his fingers through the red hair that sat in his face which revealed streaks of black.

He stood up and would begin to walk down the street towards the Ordai land. He would watch as the buildings grew larger and larger. He finally reached his destination. A large colorful casino.

He walked into the casino and would walk around several machines. He would even insert money into one and pulled the lever. He would laugh when he lost but he made his way to the bar and would order a glass of scotch with three ice cubes. He slid the money over and mumbled a soft thanks with a hint of a Scottish accent. He then mumbled to himself. "Time for work"

Ezekiel's light blue eyes flickered over to the younger sin as he entered the room from outside, then glancing over the soaked form and frowning slightly. "Hera, if you will." He murmured to the Hell's guard while taking another sip of the drink she had prepared. He heard a faint snort from her, followed by a short 'already on it' as she slung a hand towel over her shoulder and left the bar area, walking down one of the halls to retrieve a larger towel for the soaked male.

"It's a book on gambling- Ah, Vi," He said, interrupting his own train of thought as he noticed the other younger sibling enter the bar soon after. "Come," he beckoned as he twisted in his chair, it giving a soft squeak as he moved to face the two. He slid the book under his arm as he turned, the glass of scotch sliding to rest on top of the book while he lay both on his lap and smiled slightly. "I think you both would be interested in this." He said as he held the book out, first towards Jonah due to him being closer. The side of Ezekiel's mouth would shift though, recalling the fact that the Sin was soaked, and instead holding it out for Vi.

"Oi," Hera grunted as she reentered the room, draping a larger towel around Jonah's shoulders and sliding the hand towel from her own arm as she went to clean up the soaked floor.

Ellie, while curious about the book, felt inclined to help out Hera as the taller woman squatted down awkwardly to begin wiping at the floor. Ellie would grab the roll of paper towels from the side of the counter and rip off a couple, attempting to help out a little by drying off the handle to the pub for Hera.

"Almost all of gambling is up to chance.. Meaning that the entire goal of the games are to simply be.. Well, lucky." Ezekiel hummed with a slight smirk as he polished off the last of the drink. "Besides, I expect that you wouldn't want to lose to a mere mortal, right Vi?" Ezekiel said with a faintly taunting tone. "There will be a room dedicated to gambling starting tonight. It will be in the West-Wing, I merely suggest that you two perhaps pop in there for a little bit. Perhaps play a game or two, just see how it feels. If you don't like it, then I'll see where else you two could fit."

"Right, and you're just going to fucking sit around and let everyone work, right?" Hera growled under her breath at Ezekiel.

Ezekiel chuckled softly. "I'll help when and wherever I am needed. Speaking of being needed, where are the other two? Fikhar, I can understand him sleeping in, but isn't Cain an early bird?"

"'E's practicing in the basement." Hera mumbled, standing up after mopping up the floor. She would then walk to Ellie, taking the wet paper towels from the girl and tossing them while taking the soaked hand towel to the bin to wash. "Fikhar is still probably passed out though. Tried pulling some bullshit trick with a quarter last night and nearly got his head fucking caved in." Hera growled.

"Oh dear, that's concerning." Ezekiel sighed, holding his empty glass out for Hera to take, the woman rolling her eyes and simply grabbing it and setting it back on the far side of the counter to tend to later. "Well, I suppose that he may be able to find some interesting people to entertain tonight." Ezekiel then smiled back at the three sins in the room. "I think this is the start of something good."

--------------------------------------------------

"Are you sure this is a good idea?... We could get caught." Someone softly whispered from nearby, seemingly to a friend.

"Shut your mouth, we won't get caught!" Someone hissed back quietly.

It seemed to be coming from somewhere in the slot machine area. If Malachi craned his head enough, he would notice two young gentlemen. They appeared to be in their early twenties, both dressed in rather nice dress shirts and slacks. One seemed to be playing watch, glancing around the room while the other was tucked carefully behind the machine, seeming to be messing with something on it.

"Are you sure you know this machine?" The lookout muttered to the other as they continued to play watch.

The shorter one by the machine growled lightly, "I knew the other machine, didn't I? Can't be too much different.."

"This ain't the other machine though. I heard they're reopenin'. We coulda jus' go there later? You listenin'?"

"I hear you, I hear you. But we don't got time for later. 'Sides, new family. Coulda' got rid of that crummy machine, was costing the Ordai's 'bout half a thousand every night just maintaining it before."

"Well-"

The other snapped, a slight smach being heard as the taller lookout flinched while getting smacked in the back of the head. "Shut the fuck up and keep watching. I'm about done." He growled quietly.

[Hey, I added the descriptions for the sins that weren’t chosen/npcs in the description of the rp. They can be used by anyone.]

[/class][div class=body]His interest piqued, Jonah tilted his head toward the book as it was held out towards him--and then quickly retracted. He grimaced as a towel was draped around his shoulders, pulling both of the ends of the towel around himself, almost like a protective layer. Glancing at Ellie and Hera as the cleaned up after him, the Sin momentarily wished he could disappear before turning his attention back to Ezekiel's explanation.

After having toweled off a bit, Jonah walked over behind Vi, peaking over her shoulder to get a good look at the book in her hands. His brows furrowed ever-so-slightly as he read, still having to concentrate to comprehend the words perfectly. "So... Fate determines whether or not you win... That hardly seems fair," he comments, reaching over Vi to turn a page. "And humans wager their real money on this?" He asked, casting a puzzled look in Ezekiel's direction. He just couldn't wrap his head around it. The vices of humans never truly made sense to him, despite the fact that he was responsible for a large amount of them.

"I'd almost feel bad betting against them--when they lose, they can't just "make" more money," he commented, off-handedly alluding to his own ability, which was something he seldom did. "But... I'll do it--it might be fun?" the Sin shrugged, turning to Vi as if looking for her support in this endeavor. However, he soon felt a strange sensation, moving the towel to cover his mouth as he let out a soft sneeze.

Ah. Hell. Were humans so delicate that being doused water made them malfunction? Now he was feeling especially bad at the prospect of taking their money.

[Since there has been no reply for a few days, we’ll be moving to the next turn. Apologies if this throws anyone off. Malachi, it’s your turn.]

Malachi would take a sip of the glass of Scotch that he had bought and would narrow his eyes as he heard the men talking about the new family and the old machine. He would frown and mumbled "And i wanted to enjoy this glass." He tilted the glass a bit and allowed the rest of the drink pour into his mouth and then he would swallow it before he stood up and walked over to the men.
stop in front of the taller lookout being a bit short only being about 5'10 and he would look around him at the man messing with the machine and would speak with a Scottish accent "Sorry lads, i overheard the conversation you were jus' havin and I was wanderin if you were willin to tell me more about that new family and the machine you mentioned? I've actually been after some information on em but they just dont go out enough to have anything known about em, but you two seem like you'd know about em. I'll even buy a round for ya mates, how about it?"

[Apologies for the wait on responding, I've been trying to leave some time for Labyrinthine to respond when they return. I'll be implementing a 24 hour rule in order to keep the roleplay moving from now on. For that rule, if it gets to someone's turn and they have not responded to the previous post within 24 hours, then it will go to the next turn. That being said, if anyone ever needs a bit more time, just let me know and it'll be completely fine. As far as the current wait, I'll be giving Labyrinthine another night to respond before we continue.]
