MEYURAI

This is the name of the world the story takes place. It is thought to be the origin where all gods came into being. As far as these beings are aware, there is a collection of large islands surrounded by sea, and islands floating in the sky thought to be land picked up by the sky god, claiming it for his own.

Uratochi is the main village, mostly run and occupied by Tochiko, but both Sorako and Umiko traders frequent the village as well. It is the one village where all three tribes gather together. Sorako or Umiko may visit other Tochiko villages, but rarely do they make their life there. Tsurui is the main Sorako city, made up entirely of clouds. Magical remnants left behind by their god keep the halls lit at night and keep the city from moving with the flow of air. Other smaller towns include Nakanojo and Kitoga, which reside on floating islands. Taoki is the largest Umiko village and extends past the waterfall seen in the photo. It is more a city than a village, but both Harie and Gujo are villages made up of little houses against the crags and pillars of earth. The Sorako mimicked their towns on the floating islands to look alike to Tochiko villages, and can resemble AB, or C.

The time this world takes place is a fantasy of its own. There are not so many different humans that there's conflict among them, everyone lives under the same language. There's no technology as we know it in this world. No phones, computers, etc. Harnessing electricity isn't yet a skill. The use of iron and other metals is available, but as there's very little war, there's never been a need for weapons.

ABOUT URATOCHI

The village of treaty, called Uratochi, is surrounded by log pillars that serve as the village walls. Up back against the most northern center part of the village is the ancient temple, where the two gods and the goddess lay sleeping within. The temple is sealed so that none can enter unless performing the ceremony during the autumn festival. The village has two entries, one on the east wall and another on the west wall. Leading in from the entrances is the main road. There are three, all leading in towards the center of the village, popularly called "the village square". As such, the village is divided up into 3 parts. The main road splits the village apart from the west entrance to the east, and the "sacred" road leads from the village square to the temple. South of the main road is an assortment of inns, restaurants, and theaters run by the Suzuki. North-west is the main Akiba residence, and north-east is the main Nakamura residence.
