Backstory:
Stephania Torrero was born to two middle-class parents in sunny southern California. Shortly after her birth, the family decided to move to the coast to begin a new life. Her father, Leo, worked as a plumber while her mother, Valentina, was a caretaker at a local nursing home. Stevie was the oldest of three, with two younger, brothers named Mateo and Luca. They were three and five years younger than Stevie and looked up to her as a role model. Stevie was usually in charge of taking care of the boys while her parents were away at work. But she didn't really mind, they were sweethearts after all. Growing up was fairly standard for Stephania. They lived in a modest home, never really went without the necessities, and overall had a happy life. To be honest, Stevie was happy, and couldn't complain.

When Stephania was 17 and a junior in high school, she and one of her close friends decided to go to a party at a senior's house. It was supposed to be just a typical high school party with under-aged drinking, dancing, and making out. But that party was anything but typical for Stevie. While taking a break for fresh air outside away from the party, she was approached by someone she could only describe as devilishly handsome. His name was Clark, and he was the type of bad boy most high school girls are attracted to. With brunette hair, piercings, and tattoos, the 20-year-old male, who was solely at the party from the town he usually lived in to deliver drugs, intrigued Stevie.

They began to talk, had a few laughs, and ultimately seemed to share a connection. Stephania gave Clark her number, and it all seemed to be like a cheesy meet-cute from a romantic comedy. What started as simply texting back and forth developed into hanging out and eventually dating. But Clark had secrets that he was hiding from Stevie, dark secrets. When Stevie was 18 and graduated from high school, she decided to take a job as a receptionist while taking online and night classes to become a nurse. Wanting to take on the full adult experience, she moved out of her parents' home and into an apartment with Clark. That was the biggest mistake she ever made.

Stevie had no idea that Clark was a member of the Serpents until they moved in together. She was a bit afraid of the gang world but tagged along anyway. It was through Clark that she met Liam and many other Serpents members. Somewhere along the way, Stephania both graduated with her nursing degree and joined the gang. That was when it all started. What was at first just drunken fits of rage, yelling, and breaking things eventually turned into physical slaps and hits that would leave bruises. Clark was ruthless against Stevie, and she felt so trapped. The last straw for Stevie was one dark night when Clark held her against the wall by her throat and drew two slash marks across her skin with his blade.

That evening, after Clark passed out from all the booze, Stevie took that same blade and ended Clark's life. It was messy, bloody, and at the end of it all, Stevie had no idea what to do. So, she called Liam. The Serpents weren't blind to what Clark was doing to her, but no one really acted as most were afraid of him. Liam went over to the apartment that night and, in the morning, it was as if nothing ever happened. Clark just vanished. Fast forward a few years, and Stevie couldn't bring herself to leave the Serpents behind. She had grown attached, maternal even, to many of the members, and wanted to protect them from the same pain she had gone through. But now that Liam, the only other person who knew her secret, was gone, Stevie wasn't sure what was going to happen.

Backstory:
Lorenzo was born to a 19-year-old woman who had recently moved from London to the bustling city of New York. In the first year of living on her own in a foreign country, his mother got mixed up in the wrong crowds. It's safe to say that Enzo was anything but planned. Because his father denied that Lorenzo was actually his son, Enzo didn't really have a father figure or positive male role model for a good chunk of his childhood. His mother worked as a waitress and took night school paralegal classes. So Enzo had to grow up fairly quickly. Before he even reached double digits in age, Lorenzo was already staying at home by himself, taking care of the house, and cooking for his mom and him. He learned responsibility quickly and, for that reason, never was super upset about the way his childhood turned out.

When Lorenzo was about 11 years old, his mother met a kind businessman from Georgia during a meeting with the law group she worked for as a paralegal. The two had immediate chemistry and began dating. Shortly thereafter, the businessman opened up a new branch of his business in NYC to be closer to Enzo's mother and Enzo. A few months into dating, Lorenzo met the businessman for the first time, and they immediately bonded. The businessman took on a fatherly role and taught Enzo about things like fixing cars, cooking, sports, music, and even how to talk to girls. They were fast friends, and Lorenzo looked up to the man. Within that same year, the businessman became Lorenzo's step-father.

The new family moved into a nice apartment in a safer part of town. Lorenzo was able to start drum lessons and go to a more prestigious school. Enzo finally had someone he could call "Dad." It felt like they had finally caught some luck in their lives. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. During Enzo's final semester in high school, his mother confessed that she had been having an affair with her boss for a couple of years. Though Lorenzo's parents tried to make their marriage work, the distrust Lorenzo's stepfather felt and the lack of love Enzo's mother experienced couldn't be mended.

Definitely not wanting to get caught up in any divorce drama, Enzo left to start his own journey by working on cars all the way across the country near San Diego. Somewhere along the way, he met the Serpents while fixing up one of their cars, and realized they might be the family he was looking for. It wasn't long before he was invited to join the brotherhood that was the Serpents as a member and mechanic. Lorenzo might have only been with the gang for a little less than a year, but he is determined to work his way up from the bottom to the top.

    Brianna was born as the only child of realtor Charles Carlton and his socialite wife May. May never worked a single day in her life. Coming from a poor family, she was determined to marry well and provide for herself. She and Charles, that was a turbulent relationship, fiery and lit. He fell for a beautiful May immediately and May actually loved him before. But what she never wanted were kids. Only Charles convinced her to have at least one and so Brianna happened.
    
    From an early childhood, Bri was raised to be a strong individual, mostly by her dad. Her mom was there, it wasn’t like she didn’t care about her daughter at all. But the two never really built a strong relationship. No relationship to be exact. With father who was always gone at work and mom who only cared very little, Brianna was left on her own and needed to find a way how to entertain herself. As she grew up, playing with dolls and nannies wouldn't do anymore but with age, her head matured as well and she realized that her parents would love to do anything but be with her.
    
    It was her last year of the high school when Brianna changed completely. She was always wild at heart and it was a miracle that two boring high end people could make such a wild stallion of a girl. But Brianna loved life, enjoyed it to the fullest and learned from her own mistakes. She made a lot of them and they all had names, amazing arms, quite a few tattoos and messy hair. But she never regretted anything as every mistake was moving her forward. Close to graduation, she needed to choose what to do with her life, with her future. College, job, anything. But carefree Brianna decided that it all had time and he simply graduated as she could, threw her hat up in the air and by the time it fell on the ground, she was gone.
    
    Brianna decided to join the Serpents, the local gang. After all, her best friend was their leader's sister and it was only fitting. The two met during high school and to say that it was an immediate friendship would be a lie. Quite the contrary, Brianna and Mariah despised each other's guts. It took some time (a lot of time) for them to finally see eye to eye but when they became friends, it was for life.
    
    The Serpents lived life close to Bri's heart and she loved it among that crowd. For the first time, she finally felt she belonged. Forgetting the riches and luxury of her home, Brianna moved to the compound despite her father's threats to cut her off. All of a sudden, he cared. Bri just laughed, waved her hand and left that life behind.     River had always belonged to the Serpents. Born and raised. His father was one of the first members and his mother was his all time old lady. Frank Striker was one of the very few guys who actually never cheated on his girl. Once they got together, it was for life. And that’s how River was born. Into a joyful small family. The reason? As very few men in the gang, not only was Frank a believer, he used to work as a preacher before joining.
    
    River was raised to become a member one day and ever since he could remember, his dad was riding the bike with him. Until River was old enough to get his own steel horse. He was thriving, and couldn't have wanted for a happier childhood. He knew all members by their names when he was five and everyone knew little River, Frank’s son, as he stumbled around on his short legs.
    
    Until one day. River was 17 when it happened. His parents celebrated the 35th anniversary of their marriage and decided to go for a ride to the place where Frank proposed to Marylin. River stayed at home, learning how to perform a few minor fixes on his bike and no one knew anything. But when his parents didn’t come home that night, he became restless. Sure, they sometimes did that, left for a few days, lovebirds they were. Though they usually let him know. But when it was already a few days, River knew something had to go wrong. He asked a few friends to ride with him to the place where his parents had left and his world changed forever.
    
    River found them. Or rather, he found their bloody corpses. He cried, then yelled, then cried again. And when there were no more tears for him to cry, he got angry. It took four guys to finally put him down and Liam himself to explain why going after his parents’ murderers was not the greatest idea. River swore revenge, that was for sure. But Liam contained him and convinced him to wait until the time was right. Waiting was something River never did but since the leader himself asked him to do so, he waited. And the time came indeed when the Serpents pulled their own attack and no matter who the bastards were, River went through their place like a god of revenge, cutting down everyone who came in his way. Yes, he cut them, not shot. They didn’t deserve quick death.
    
    Ever since that day, River was not the same. His parents died in a forceful way, two people who didn't deserve it. And their son now deemed the world the most horrible place. No matter that his dad was leading him to God his whole life, the second River found out they were dead, he denied the God who allowed this to happen. He didn't need him or his teachings. Instead, he started to believe in the power of his own fists. Liam noticed River was spiraling and as the great leader he was, he took the boy under his wing, making sure River always walked the straight path.
    
    Having way too much unused rage though, River started to look for ways how to vent. That was how his underground pit career began. To this day, he visits those illegal matches and he already managed to make a name for himself there.   Katarina used to be a bubbly, happy, carefree girl before her world crumbled around her. Now she is a rather serious, dark and dangerous woman. She is confident and has slowly become numb to things that once frightened her or caused her pain. Sometimes she doesn’t feel things at all and seeks out adrenaline rushes and danger in order to feel something.   Jonathan Fox was a successful lawyer who had spent his twenties, thirties and even most of his forties working rather than making a family. All that changed when he hired Josefina Flores to be his housekeeper. She was young, beautiful and a spitfire. He quickly fell in love with her and the two were married a year later, and two years after that Katarina was born. Josefina was a stay at home mother, busy raising Katarina and keeping the household together. Jonathan wasn’t a large part of his daughter’s life, continuing to work hard his entire life, but he doted on her shamelessly. Katarina wanted for nothing and as such could have dreams like being a professional ballerina someday. Until she was 16, Katarina had a wonderful life taking ballet classes since she was 3, attending private schools since preschool, and being loved unconditionally.
  
  All that changed when Jonathan had a heart attack on the courtroom floor during a stressful case and passed away at the age of 64. Katarina did not handle her father’s death well and started rebelling to deal with her anger at the unfairness of life. Josefina, however, had come from a hard life and was familiar with death and loss, and as such didn’t cut her daughter any slack. Unfortunately, her mother’s lack of sympathy led Katarina into the arms of one of the boys at her high school, Marcus Winters. Mistakes were made and Katarina ended up pregnant at the age of 17.
  
  Katarina wanted to terminate the pregnancy, but Josefina found out and refused to let her daughter kill the child due to her religious beliefs. Forced to give up ballet and drop out of high school, Katarina started to resent her mother, unfairly blaming her for her ruined life. Katarina and Josefina began arguing so much that one day Katarina packed up her stuff and moved in with Marcus, who had been disowned, in a little apartment in a bad part of town. Marcus got caught up with a bad group of people, and by the time Katarina gave birth to Rosa, Marcus was trying to earn his membership into a gang called the Outlaws.

  Busy taking care of her newborn daughter, Katarina didn’t question how Marcus made the money that kept them afloat, or why he seemed to work strange hours. However, by the time Rosa turned 2, Katarina was pretty sure that Marcus was caught up in something illegal and cheating on her with random girls he picked up through whatever it was he did for work. Fed up, Katarina finally gave Marcus an ultimatum and threatened to leave him and take Rosa with her if Marcus didn’t clean up his act. Marcus promised he would if Katarina would just help him with one last job. Not realizing what she was getting herself into, Katarina agreed.
  
  One minute Katarina was leaving Rosa with a babysitter, promising to be back in a few hours, and the next she had taken her first life in gang related matters to save Marcus. Marcus was ultimately arrested for the murder, covering for Katarina, and taken to prison. Katarina was also arrested for accessory but one of her fathers old colleagues got her off. Unfortunately, Katarina lost custody of Rosa, who was taken in by Marcus’s family, the Winters. Matters were only made worse when a rival gang member who was in prison attacked Marcus.   Katarina has proven herself effective at taking out rival gang members and other threats or annoyances to the gang without drawing suspicion. While she is skilled with guns and knives, Katarina’s preferred method of murder is poison. She has developed her own signature poison which she has become immune to and has thus far been untraceable by law enforcement. Every time Katarina creates a new poison, she works to become immune by subjecting herself to small doses over time, and is often ill during her trial periods. Bio:
Mariah is the third born Cabeza child, and the only girl. Being born into a family of gang members, it was a given that she would be well protected throughout her life. She doesn't remember her mother, as the woman ran off with Mimi's father's second in command when Mimi was just a few years old. Although Pedro Cabeza had no idea how to raise a child on his own, much less a female, he had two other sons to help him as well as help from the other women in the Serpents. As far as he was concerned, that was good enough.

Growing up, Mariah was always getting into trouble. She wanted to be just like her brothers, and was never afraid to do what they did or get down and dirty like they did. She hated sitting still and always had a problem with talking back, which definitely led to problems in school and at home. With her brothers five and seven years older than her, there was a bit of an age gap, so she wasn't always allowed to do what they did. She didn't make friends easily; others called her bossy and controlling. But her family was always there.

She became semi-dependent on them, and that's probably why her father's death when she was eleven hit her so hard. No longer could she use his name for protection, because he was gone. Liam, her oldest brother, was freshly turned 18 but as Pedro's oldest son, he was next in line to lead to Serpents. He had to prove himself, and during this time, Mimi grew extremely close to her other brother, Matthew. All three siblings were close, but Mimi and Matthew had a closer bond just because they weren't in charge of a whole gang.

And then Matthew left. Mimi was eighteen, and Matthew and Liam had a falling out that led to Matthew breaking away from the Serpents to create his own gang, The Outlaws. A year or so after Matthew left, Mimi was kidnapped by a different gang, held captive for a good few months before Liam found her and rescued her. Mimi doesn't know this, but it was Matthew's lead in a phone call to Liam that saved her. She thinks Matthew just wasn't there for her, and now that he's come back to lead the Serpents after Liam's early death, she has hardly spoken to him.

Bio:
Matthew is the second born, middle child of Pedro Cabeza and Renee Templeton. The two of them never married, and although he never thought about it when he was younger, Matthew thinks it's because the woman never wanted to stick around. Yet for some reason, she had three children with Pedro before she decided to run off with his second in command when Matthew was around seven or eight years old. He and Liam remember her the best, considering Mimi was still so young when the woman left them.

Matthew always took on a protective role of his siblings, especially Mariah since she was younger. If anyone picked on her, they had him to answer to, and he got in trouble for it alot but never regretted it because that's what you do for family. He was around sixteen when his father died, and Liam had to take over as leader at a freshly turned eighteen. Matthew always thought Liam was still too young to take over, but there were people in the Serpents on his side and who helped him. Matthew and Mariah grew closer during this time.

Even though Matthew technically wasn't leadership, Liam came to him with alot of things and even for advice sometimes. When Matthew was twenty-one, though, he and Liam had a terrible fight that led to Matthew leaving the Serpents and creating his own gang, The Outlaws. It started out as him wanting to prove himself to Liam, but the Outlaws grew into a family, with Matthew as their leader. A year or so after leaving, he found out his sister had been kidnapped, and he went through hell to find out where she was.

With one phone call to his brother, he saved Mariah's life, and even though he knows he should have gone to see her he did not. He didn't return to town until Liam's death, when he became the next in line to lead the Serpents. He could have refused, but he'd grown up some in that time he was gone, and decided to bring his gang and his brothers together, figuring they could make a bigger and better family.

  Archer came into the world with a vengeance. Born in a taxi cab on the way to the hospital, it was very clear that he wasn’t going to wait for anyone or be patient in life. Joe and Caitlin Hale had their hands full from the moment Archer arrived, and he only grew to be more trouble. Though, what else would one expect of a child born into gang life?
  
  Joe Hale was a member of the Serpents, and his young wife was formerly one of the dancers at the club. By the time Archer came along though, Caitlin had shifted into a more domestic role. Despite having an overprotective mother, Archer still managed to spend most of his childhood hanging around the Serpents with his dad.
  
  The only thing his parents ever fought about was Archer one day becoming a member of the gang. There was no question in Joe’s mind that Archer would follow in his family’s footsteps and become a Serpent, while Caitlin wanted a better life for her only child. Archer himself wanted to be part of the gang, but played down his desires out of fear of breaking his mother’s heart.   When Archer turned 18, his father started properly grooming him to join the gang. Though he could have started earlier, Joe promised his wife he would wait to completely corrupt their son until he was a legal adult. Unfortunately, unlike his thoughtful and calculating father, Archer was a bit more reckless and ornery when it came to taking orders from someone.   While there was nothing Joe wanted more than to see the day his son became a Serpent, he unfortunately never got the chance. Tragedy struck when the leader of the Serpents was killed, along with Joe who had died trying to protect Cabeza. With the leader’s oldest son Liam stepping up to take his father’s place, Archer was officially inducted into the Serpents to honor Joe’s sacrifice.   Archer comes from a long line of Serpents. His father and grandfather were both Serpents, and its rumored that his great grandfather was involved in the early years of gang life before the Serpents actually went by said moniker. Despite his initial problems with authority, since his father’s death, Archer had become a loyal and fierce member of the Serpents. Though he is too reckless to have ever been considered for the role of Liam’s right hand man, he has filled his father’s seat at the table. He often listens during meetings more than he talks, but he does offer valuable contributions now and then. Due to his height, he isn’t the most agile when it comes to knife fights, preferring to just barrel in and fight with his fists, even if it means taking a few slashes or stabs in the process.     The Backstory

    
    
    
    

    Isabella is the second child born to Sofia and Antonio Montebello, being just three years younger than her brother Giovanni. The Montebello siblings were born into a world of drugs, violence, crime and more due to their father being a member of a notorious gang called Phantoms so the lifestyle has always been something they found to be normal.
    
    Growing up under the protection of the Phantoms gave them a sense of security but also restricted much of their freedom since they were almost always being shadowed for their safety. Somehow this protection didn't extend to the abuse they endured at the hand of their own father whether because no one knew, cared, or had the guts to stand up to the man she might never know.
    
    At first, the young girl wondered why her own mother never left but it wasn't long before she realized that you didn't just leave a lifestyle like this and especially not when you were so close to someone who held all of the secrets that her father did. Her mother knew too much for them to just let her walk out the door.
    
    Whenever Isabella was around eleven years old, her mother did try to leave only to be brutally punished for it which landed her in the hospital. That didn't stop her from trying a second time though when Isa was thirteen. This time packing up their things and trying to leave in the middle of the night when Antonio was asleep.
    
    They were caught by another member who quickly turned her over to Toni. In a fit of rage and feeling betrayed he decided that if she didn't want this life anymore then he would let her out, but not the way she wanted.     Her father tried to say the woman was given a choice to either stay with them or leave without her children and chose the latter but Isabella knew better. Giovanni might've bought it but she saw the bloodstains under the rug in the master bedroom and she knows her mother would never have left her.
    
    That wasn't even the end of the turmoil her father caused her as he inserted himself into everything the girl did and became obsessively controlling. Every friend she had, every guy she got close to, he took away one way or another. This cycle continued until she eventually stopped trying to get close to people out of fear he'd follow through on his threats of violence.
    
    His need for control and revenge is what drove him to set his sights on the Serpents. They had things that he wanted and it sparked a turf war of sorts that escalated when he carried out a plan to kidnap the leader's sister. It was a decent plan but he didn't account for the estranged brother getting involved and the plan failed because of his lack of preparation for the unexpected.
    
    Eventually, the sister was rescued in an ambush where a lot of the Phantoms were killed in. Gio had even been severely injured but as luck would have it, the bullet missed vital organs by inches and so he recovered after a while.     You'd think that Toni would give up but no instead, he trained Izzy to become what he wanted her to be so that she could carry on his stupid mission. He constantly pushed her into jobs to help the gang even when he knew they were overly dangerous and had no shame in making her use her body to get things they wanted or take an enemy down.
    
    Everything Antonio Montebello did was for the gang and his children were merely pawns but Gio was too blinded by his need to be good enough to see it and there was nothing that Isabella could do. After all, she'd learned pretty young that the only way out was death.
    
    Izzy was sent undercover to infiltrate the Serpents two years ago as no one really knows much about her so she could go mostly undetected. Her first target was Liam but just when she was starting to get into his good graces and gain the trust of others in the gang, he was killed.   Meet the former orphan turned bad boy. Son of two people who couldn't get their shit together and raise him right. Rye has been in and out of jail multiple times, mostly before joining the outlaws.   Ryder's brown hair is almost the same color as his chocolate-y eyes and he stands at an average height by his standards being 6'1. Whenever he was growing up he boxed at a local clubhouse on weekends as it was open to the public so he has a fairly toned and athletic build.   Loyal: When it comes to the people he's come to call family, he would take a bullet to the chest just as quickly as he would put a bullet in someone for any them. No questions asked.
  
  Street-smart: Even before he met the Outlaws, he had to have the smarts to navigate and hustle in the streets in order to survive.
  
  Valourous: He isn't afraid of much and if you asked him he would tell you that no one intimidates him. Because of this, he will do nearly anything asked of him no matter how dangerous. The only way he would typically refuse is if it seems too stupid or pointless.
  
  Jealous: While he gets jealous fairly easily, he tries not to show it often because it feels like a sign of weakness to him. He either masks this with other things or reverses things to make the source (person) of this emotion jealous back.
  
  Distrusting: When it comes to new people he can be a bit cagey. It's not that he sees everyone as having bad intentions but he has to be ready for anyone to turn into a potential threat so he can handle it accordingly. Once you earn his trust though, you have it for life unless you betray him.

    - Started to run away and also steal a lot to make money or get things he wanted/needed.
    - Ended up in juvie at age 14 for drugs then again at age 16 for theft.
    - Continued to do what he had to for money and landed in actual jail at 19 for stealing a car.
    - After a few more jail trips, he ended up wrapped up in deals with a known drug dealer.
