  At a young age, Eva Lundgren immigrated to California from Stockholm, Sweden with her parents. They took up residence in a loft apartment above a laundromat in the bustling city of San Francisco. Her father worked in the laundromat, washing clothes and linens for the people of the city. Her mother worked as a seamstress in a tailoring shop. Together, they didn't make much. But they made enough for the family to be comfortable and happy. Eva went to public school, making friends quickly despite the slight language barrier, and ultimately becoming fairly popular despite her 'new girl' label. Everything seemed to be falling into place.
  
  When Eva was a junior in high school, tragedy struck. Her father fell sick with an untreatable terminal illness, and her mother was forced to leave her job in order to take care of him. Without much income coming in, Eva had to drop out of school to get a job and earn money for her family. Unfortunately, the only job she could really find was taking to the streets. She wanted to busk at first, but that transformed into turning tricks just to get by. The pay was good, but it took a toll on her and her mental health. Things began to go further downhill when her father eventually passed away, leaving just Eva and her mother.
  
  Somewhere along the way, Eva met a guy that she really fell for. He was kind to her, took her out on actual dates, and even helped her financially. After everything she had been through, this was a breath of fresh air. They started a relationship, and things quickly changed. He went from sweet and gentle, to demanding, jealous, and abusive. Unable to give up the financial benefits he provided, Eva just took it. After a few months, Eva realized that she was pregnant. To protect herself and that baby, Eva made the choice to take her mother, leave her city behind, and run away to Ashborough, WA. She needed to protect her family at all costs.
  

  childhood

  Katarina Lundgren was born to Eva on a chilly January morning. The blizzard outside was nothing compared to the pain she put her mother through. But Eva knew that it was all worth it when she held Kat in her arms. Growing up, Kat was an inquisitive child. She was interested in the world around her, wanted to explore the wood as well as read every book that she could. Her mother supported her interests, let her do as she wanted within reason. Working as a waitress to pay the bills, Eva created a happy and open environment for Katarina so that she didn't even miss not having a father.
  
  When Kat was about nine or ten years old, her interest in art and art history truly began to flourish. She would spend hours at the library researching the world's greatest artists: Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, and more. But as she dug, other types of art began to arise. There were cave paintings from ancient hominids, sculptures and ceramics in ancient Rome and Greece, and Nordic runes. Something about the latter topic truly captured her attention. Learning about Odin's discovery of runes followed suit with the Germanic people's development of them was astounding to her. And so, she began to learn about the meanings of the runes and how to create her own.
  
  What started out as a silly project quickly turned into a disaster when the runes that Katarina created began to take effect. It was all supposed to be fun and games until a rune intending to cause an explosion sent their home into flames. The young brunette and her grandmother barely made it out with their lives, but unfortunately, Eva succumbed to the flames. Kat did her best to try and explain to her grandmother and the firemen what happened. But to them, she was a dumb child and nobody believed her. After all, runes and magic weren't real. Consumed with mourning and guilt, Kat threw herself into studying runes, learning more and more about them, and proving to herself that she could understand her newfound powers so that she could use them for good.

  In high school, Katarina was the quiet one who spent most of her time in the art classroom, hanging out outside, or sequestered away in the music room strumming on her guitar. She was fascinated by the arts, and that led on into her teenage and adult life as well. Though she made friends quite easily, she often hid the true anxieties going on in her mind behind a facade. When she found the Circle, Katarina finally felt as though she found a place that she could belong. Others with stories potentially similar to hers and magic that the rest of the world just couldn't understand. After high school, Kat went on to become a Private Art Curator, collecting art pieces for private collectors and sometimes museums. She continued working on her rune magic, studying ancient cultures as well as creating her own new runes. Despite her troubled past, she has certainly come a long way.

  Aleksander Strand was the second child born to Nils and Brit Strand in his father's hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. For a while, he was a normal young boy, oblivious to the world outside of his happy and bright childhood home. But that facade was broken shortly after his sixth birthday. Nils had been away on a "business trip" for a week or so, leaving Brit at home to care for Alek and his older sister, Anna. He returned late at night and, in his excitement to see his father again, Alek had stayed up past his bedtime to wait for him. He rushed downstairs into the foyer, a huge smile on his face. But what he found was far from what he expected.
  
  Nils stood in the foyer. But instead of removing his mud-soaked boots and jacket, he simply tapped the clothing. Before his very eyes, Alek watched as the clothes transformed into his father's classic sleeping attire. He thought that maybe he was dreaming, and pinched himself to check. But alas, he wasn't. What he had seen was entirely real, and that confounded him. Alek let out a loud gasp, and his father immediately looked at him, surprise clear on his face. He had revealed the Strand's biggest secret to his son, one that he had intended to keep for the remainder of his life. Magic had been something that was passed on in the Strand family for generations but generally led to consequences rather than benefits. Unfortunately, once Aleksander realized that magic was real, he was hooked.
  
  Aleksander bothered his father until he eventually gave in and agreed to train him. From that day forward, Nils taught Alek about the magic and history of their Strand family. Though he didn't realize it in the beginning, Nils was actually excited to pass on the family legacy. Even at such a young age, Alek took magic quite quickly, almost to a prodigal extent. However, when his mother realized what was going on, she panicked and forced them out, keeping the older sister with her. Nils took his son and moved them across the country to Ashborough, WA to get as far away from the heartbreak as possible. After all, he knew from the beginning that their magic was usually followed by strife.
  

  growing up

  Washington was far different than the warm, southern town that that Aleksander knew for most of his life. It rained and was gloomy all the time, and there wasn't really the same type of coastline that he was used to. Depressed about the loss of part of his family, Alek swore off magic. He didn't want anything to do with it, despite how interested he was in it before. So, he threw himself into a new hobby: athletics. Football, baseball, soccer, and more. What started out as simple pee-wee sports developed into junior varsity and eventually varsity. He carved out his spot as a natural-born leader, leading his team to several victories over the years as the star quarterback of his high school.
  
  Due to his unrivaled skills on the football field, scouts began to show up to his games, and the pressure was truly on. Aleksander knew that he needed to perform to maximum capacity if he was going to get a scholarship to his dream university. Though he didn't want to, he decided that using magic was the only way he was going to achieve his goals. After the rejection from his mother, he became a sort of perfectionist in athletics in an attempt to make himself the best that he could be. While not necessarily super book smart, sports and fitness was a place he knew he could succeed, potentially with the help of magic. Unfortunately, that went terribly wrong.
  
  On the field at a particularly important tournament game, Alek decided that using a bit of transmutation would get him the win that he had been looking for. Out of practice, and having never transmuted himself before, he attempted to use his magic to push himself forward, or teleport in a way. Human transmutation was a tricky game, and without experience, could be exceedingly dangerous. Alek, unfortunately, learned that the hard way. It was the final play of the game, and he didn't have a choice but to run the ball. In an attempt to move faster, he attempted micro-transmutations of his own form. On the final step, it went awry, and he ended up critically injuring himself. His dream of college football crumbled that night before his eyes.

  After his injury, Alek was sent into surgery to repair his injury. He spent several days in the hospital and months in physical therapy before he was fully recovered. Unfortunately, the weakness created by the injury meant that he could never play football again, and his dream of making it to the big leagues was gone. For a while, Aleksander swore off his magic again, pissed off that it had broken him again, just as his father said it would. Nevertheless, he found himself back in the gym, working to get stronger despite his injury. He eventually spent enough hours there that they hired him as a personal trainer, and Alek realized he truly loved the job. After finding the Circle, the redhead decided to take up magic again, working on his transmutation to better himself. There were still some missteps, but he was certainly getting better with time. Maybe he could prove his father wrong yet.

  Ashborough, Washington is where Harley was born, and for the first twelve years of her life it was all she knew. She had friends there, it's where she started school and learned all those things kids learn. She got her first scraped knee when she fell out of the tree at the park, and even received her first kiss at seven years old behind that same tree. Her mom was the one who enjoyed small town life, but Harley and her father both had big city dreams. Her father had given up alot when he met her mother, because originally he'd only been passing through the town, but he fell head over heels for her mother.
  
  But as they say, all good things must come to and end. As a young child, Harley didn't notice the fighting between her parents. When she got older and started to notice, she just spent more time away from home, exploring the town with her friends. Ashborough was safe, after all. Nothing bad ever happened there. As Harley got older, though, the fighting just got worse, and her mother turned to the bottle. The custody battle was rough but Harley's father one, and her mother signed away her rights. At the age of twelve, Harley got into her father's pickup truck and said goodbye to the only home she'd ever known.
  
  Life after they left was ridiculous. Harley's father didn't know how to be a parent, so Harley pretty much did whatever she wanted with little repercussions. She acted out, went to parties, dated whoever she wanted, and barely passed school. She wasn't dumb by any means, but her focus was elsewhere: music. She wanted to make it big, and her father actually supported that. He knew a friend of a friend who was a producer, so at nineteen, he introduced Harley to him. The man was a skeeze, and he used Harley for his own gain. Photos that Harley had taken to "improve her career" were plastered online, and she grew infamous for them.
  
  Everything was a whirlwind after that. Her name was ruined, but thankfully not on a nationwide scale. She also got news that her mother had passed, and left the house and everything to Harley.   Monty was born in Ashborough, the second in the Jackson family, born a few years after his older brother Derrick. Derrick was always the brother who had everything going for him: he was cute and only got more attractive as he got older, he was smart, he was good at sports and good at everything to do with the opposite sex. Even from a young age, it was clear that he and Monty were polar opposites. Monty preferred to spend time in his room playing games and being on his computer, while Derrick wanted to go out and play. When they did get Monty outside, he was usually picking up rocks or poking at bugs.
  
  Thankfully, somehow, Monty did manage to make a few friends in Ashborough. Things were fairly normal in the small town, for a little while, at least. What Monty had tried to explain to his parents and even others as well was that he had this almost constant feeling of foreboding, as though something were going to go wrong at any time. Everyone wrote him off as an anxious kid, but Monty knew it was more than that. He just couldn't explain how he knew. When he was ten years old, though, it happened for the first time. He was at school and he touched a pen the teacher had touched, and immediately was flooded with the same feeling as before, as well as images he could never shake from his head.
  
  That teacher was later arrested, but Monty never told anyone what he saw. There were other occurrences as well, but Monty tried to keep them to himself as best as possible. He didn't want to be labeled a freak, especially because he pretty much already was. He tried to keep his head down and just focus on his own thing, but bullies were everywhere. That's how he became friends with one of the jocks, when he was in his freshman year of high school. Monty thought he had ulterior motives, so he tried to avoid him, but it was just the start of that friendship and a few others.
  
  Tragedy struck when he was in his sophomore year. His brother disappeared, and though they searched for him, he was presumed dead. Not even Monty's mind tricks could help them find him. He was presumed dead, and life went on. Monty now works at an online IT/tech company, living with his parents in the same house he grew up in.

  - the user can utilize different elements as a form of magic. They can use different spells to formulate their elemental quantities and energies for many uses.
  
  Pyrokinesis - Clo manipulates fire and heat, controls it and wields it according to her will
  Geokinesis - manipulation of earth, soil, rocks, stones
  Levitation - if focused enough, Clover can manipulate air so she can float in the air
  Hydrokinesis - water manipulation (doesn't use it anymore, under any circumstances)
  
  DRAWBACKS
  - Clover cannot handle any of the elements for 100%. She is still a rather beginner witch and only her arrogance has her going. She can only handle one element at the time and it still requires her full focus. If not handled properly, she could burn herself alive or lose control midair. It consumes her energy way too much and the time to recover is too long. After casting a few more complicated spells, Clover needs several hours to recharge. If she pushes through, she could exhaust herself so much that it would border with death. She lacks the proper training which would definitely prevent her from hurting herself and those around her.

  the first part of life

  Clover lived in London for most of her young life. She was the only daughter of Duke Charles Lexington and his socialite wife. Being the rich kid and the heirs to the family riches, her parents really cared about their precious daughter to have it all. Daddy was always the best. He treated his little princess with presents and material things from early childhood and Clo got very used to it. Her mother loved her dearly as well but she also cared about her education and status, making Clover attend many additional classes. By the age of five, Clo was attending ballet, horse riding and ballroom classes plus etiquette as every future Duchess should do.
  
  As Clo was getting older, the gifts from daddy were getting better and more expensive. She dropped all of her classes which angered her mother but then, daddy said Clo didn’t have to go there and it was decided. Clover developed this habit of asking her father for everything that occurred to her, no matter how ridiculous the requirement was. And daddy always made all of her dreams and wishes come true without even asking. He spoiled her rotten and everyone except him saw it. Her mom no longer had a say and all she could do was simply nod to everything her daughter came up with as it didn’t matter if she approved or not.

  halfway through it all

  When Clo was 15, her mother died. She was actually very sweet woman but the cancer was a bitch. It hit the young girl quite hard but she would never admit it to anyone. Her heart became even harder and she started to overcompensate with her needs and wants which her daddy happily obliged to. Anything for his little princess, anything to make her happy. The sentence starting with ‘Hey, daddy, I would like…’ became the daily routine and was never followed by a ‘no’.
  
  Around this time, the Lexington’s moved to America. Clover immediately found her crowd, whether they admired her for her red Porsche, flawless closet or status, or they hated her but couldn’t resist being close to her. She started on building her popular status immediately, making the right friends. Clover walks over dead bodies, not caring what happens to others. Her only and the highest interest is herself and whatever she wants, she gets it. Someone gets hurt? Oh my, she really is sorry…not sorry.

  what happens next?

  It wasn’t until Clover’s mother died that the girl actually found out about the old family tradition. It was when she was going through her mother's stuff, when she found an old book. It was the old Grimoir, inherited in the Lexington family for centuries. At first, Clover just waved it away as something not really important or interesting and went straight for the clothes and jewelry. But later that night, she woke up after having a strange dream and walked back to the room filled with her mom's belongings only to find the old book again. She spent the whole night reading it and what was her surprise when she read a few spells and…things happened.
  
  From that moment on, Clover started to be deeply invested in magic, especially when it came to crystals and gemstones, which helped her to focus her arcane energy. With the heritage that went deep to the history, it was extremely easy for Clover to pick up on spells and their execution was natural to her. There were several paths she could take but power of elements was the most attractive to her. Clover learned how to utilize water, air, fire and earth to her benefit and more often than not, she used it to achieve her goals. Until one day…
  
  It was a spring break cruise and she attended it with several of her friends. Idiotic reason really, but there was a boy Clover liked a lot. And so did some other girl. Since the young Brit was not used to not getting her way and it all started to look she was going to lose, she tried to conjure a wave to get her competitor out of the way. She didn’t want to hurt her really, just scare a bit, but something went terribly wrong and Clover manage to bring a huge tidal wave that took a few people, including the witch off the deck. That day, Clover almost drowned and from that moment on, she was not only scared of open water but completely stopped using the element of water for her spells. She started to study magic properly, understandng now more than ever how hasty she was. Apparently, Clover had to learn the hard way…

  - not having one hundred percent control over his skills, there are so many things that could go wrong with Elliot's power. Sometimes, he uses his powers only becouse he is bored so he summons a soul of any wretched bastard but if he is not able to hold it, the soul flees and wanders the world for all eternity. When ressurecting or reanimating, Elliot needs to be careful because the power itself is incredibly draining and if performed improperly, he can be consumed by the hell itself. Speaking of energy, his powers are very consuming and after casting a few more complicated spells, Elliot can sleep for almost two days if mishandled.

  the first part of life

  Elliot was not exactly a lucky boy. He was left on the doorstep of the local orphanage a few days after he was born. It can be assumed that he was just an accident of some hippie druggie parents and they had no idea what to do with a tiny little baby. And so, naturally, he ended up in the foster system.
  
  If people ask him now, he would say it happened because they thought he was a freak but that is not exactly true. His powers were hidden in his childhood. But still, Elliot never felt like he belonged. The kids were just...not on his level. Elliot was always pretty smart and he usually outwitted all the kids and they hated him for it. They used to gang up on him and beat him bloody. But one of those days, Elliot snapped and learned how to defend himself. He was definitely a skillful fighter even before he knew what he could do.

  halfway through it all

  It was around his sixteenth birthday. A horde of fuckers was chasing him again and he hit the dead end. With his heart racing fast, he turned around and yelled from the top of his lungs, his fists balled, his eyes squeezed shut. Suddenly, everyone started to scream and yell and they turned around, running from where they came. Elliot had no idea what happened as when he opened his eyes, all he saw was an empty street. That was when Elliot started to realize he was truly different and the more he went into the issue, the more he understood he had certain powers that he couldn’t fully understand.
  
  Foster home was not a place he would enjoy a lot and Elliot used to daydream a lot how he would leave and finally make it out there in the world. He closed himself off even more and spent his days trying to figure out what he actually could do. As an avid animal lover, he took care of stray cats and dogs and hated to see them mistreated. They reminded him of himself, alone and without proper home. And it was these little beggars who helped him to figure out what his power was. How? Easy. There were many occasions he saw his furry friends falling asleep forever because of some indifferent driver of they simply died of malnutrition. Eliot used to pet their lifeless bodies, remembering his friends, the best one he had as a child. Imagine his surprise when those animals suddenly sprung up, full of life again.

  what happens next?

  On the day he left the group home, his life got even better. Ever since then, he has been living on the street and trying to survive. Hearing about the underground illegal fights, he decided to enter as the life in the group home prepared him more than well for pit fights. Not having any greater purpose, Elliot kept living from one day to another, worked in a small tattoo studio during the day and kept fighting at night.
