It played out as she remembered; it began with an explanation that the ancient civilisations that had inhabited Euross were created as a way for the Aspect Dragons to settle disputes. Each was led by a family of lineaged, the first humanoid descendants of the Aspects. While the Aspect Dragons could not intervene directly, they often directed their other children, such as the dragons, led by the First Born, to assist the mortal kingdoms in their conflicts. Nixhem and Arbuzs, the Aspects of Metal and Lightning respectfully, were in conflict, and thus their mortals were embroiled in war. The reason was never explained fully in the book, and Kadri could never recall any priests of the Haven giving much guidance on the matter either.
Every battle was lost by Arbuzs’ kin, and soon his mortal kingdom faced destruction.
While it was never mentioned, Kadri always felt like her forefather would have tried to sue for peace, seeing how desperate the tale describes the war had gotten.
The lineaged of Arbuzs, as written in the Saga, cried out for deliverance, as their enemy was soon to destroy their kingdom in its entirety, besieging their final city. Arbuzs answered, crafting an Artefact of such great power that the besieging army was scattered in a day and his mortals were able to reclaim all land lost and soon it was Nixhem’s country that was facing destruction. Pride always swelled within the young lineaged as she read this chapter, but also a great sadness.
Arbuzs’ success worried the other Aspect Dragons; Awramaar, Aspect of Arcana and oldest of the siblings, and Selta, Aspect of Ice and the calmest of them all, tried to intervene and mediate a peace. But other forces were at work. Olikah sensed an opportunity to permanently reset the balance of power in his favour and joined Arbuzs in creating an Artefact for his mortals to use. Three others took after him, forcing the hands of five others, who took to the mortal plane to stop the destruction of their people.
All ten of the Aspect Dragons were soon embroiled in conflict, leading their people in war against each other. The final chapter culminated in a battle where all ten clashed.
The description of this battle always disappointed Kadri, for it was vague and broad in its scope. But the moment the siblings realized their folly always made Kadri take pause. The story ended with the continent shattering, and whole armies and cities falling into the abyss that the gashes in the world created.

As she placed the book down, Kadri always wondered if the Artefacts were still out there. Could they be found? Could they be used? What would happen if they fell into the wrong hands? The lineaged shook her head, and nestled herself down into the pillows that made up her makeshift bed. As she closed her eyes, she chastised herself - of course they weren't still around. If the Aspects couldn't trust themselves with such power, why would they trust the mortals, or even their First Born? Her conscience already slipping, she could not shake the question from her mind: what if they were still out there?

  • 1600913430884.pngThe Nineteen Island were not always this way. Eight hundred and twenty years ago, they were one; a continent named Euross. Following an event known as The Dragon War, in which weapons of mass destruction called Artefacts were used, Euross was shattered, and the mortal civilizations fell into political and technological dark ages that were to last at least three centuries. Where the blood of the Aspect Dragons fell, the climates shifted dramatically, and new mortal civilizations came to the fore.
The Nineteen Islands are divided between five civilizations: the Empire of Alba, the Kingdom of Volk, the Commonwealth and its colonies, the Phoenix Kingdom, and the Sapphire Islands. They share an intertwined history of war, trade, and exploration, and they all share a common religion: The Ten Aspects.
The ten Aspect Dragons, and their respective Aspects are: Awramaar (Arcana), Sidabrinis (Luck), Zalvaris (Earth), Nixhem (Metal), Bakrit (Light), Olikah (Poison/Medicine), Sendrin (Fire), Selta (Ice), Tamsus (Darkness), Arbuzs (Lightning)

Very Interested. ^^

Edit: But before I get ahead of myself, I’d like to know what you request in terms of posting requirements (more specifically post frequency, for me).

Heya! Thanks for expressing your interest! Posts will preferably be a couple of paragraphs in length. This is not going to be a fast paced rp, as I am just about to start my final year of University and will be giving that a lot of attention. I can't quote you anything specific atm unfortunately ^^"

I c. Dw, I understand, I’m asking because I myself am a med student (not final year tho, will be beginning second year this Monday actually), so time is definitely a luxury. Whatever the case, unless exams are coming up/urgent irl stuff, I can usually post between 1-3 times a week.

This seems like an interesting idea for an rp, any more room for another player?

As I work on getting the lore page done, I'll post some updates so that if you would like to start thinking of character, you can do.
First I figured I'd post the world and its civilisations. I would have added more pictures but RPN restricts posts to only twenty of them. Admittedly, I could have broken the first post up a bit to fit in the pictures but it's getting late and, tbph, I can't be bothered to wrestle with BBCode any more before I go to sleep
I expect to finish the Colonial States tab off tomorrow. Then it will be a move on to religion, covering the Aspect Dragons, the beliefs around them, and their First Born.

YAY!
I will likely want to just bring Seren back, if I can

Also, I have a question about the races, are there a preset number of usable races, or is there an good amount of freedom when making a race? Just wanna ask that question

There will be a post about that, but in general there will be more freedom. The world is originally a DnD world, hence why there's frequent mention of humans, elves, dwarves, halflings, tiefling, and dragonborn in the lore section

Well, this gives me ideas for two potential character ideas I would decide upon to use for the rp, but it’s good to know about that, wasn’t too clear about it.

Next post, ETA Wednesday, will cover the people, lineaged, and magic. Then we'll be all set! I'll be putting up a place for character sheets to go on the same day!
