That One Fear In My Enemy's Eyes
Many eons ago, before Time had even been realized, the Gods began awakening from the Darkness.
One by one the Gods discovered their own consciousness, sharing with one another the inherent wisdom and power they were born with.
Among them was a Goddess known as Sil'Eph Niir. She was a Dragon and a Goddess among Goddesses in terms of Her power and benevolence. When the Mortal Realm was created She was the first to populate it with Her Children, the Dragon Race. For this reason the Dragons became known as the First Children of the world. Not long after the Goddess Sil'Eph Niir fell into a ten thousand year slumber to regain Her strength while the rest of the Gods populated the world with other forms of life to live alongside the Dragons.
When Her ten thousand year slumber came to an end Sil'Eph Niir returned to the Higher Plane bidding Her Children farewell.
Over countless millennia the world and its peoples evolved until they became as they are known today.
But the story we are about to live is one which has been hidden from the Mortal Realm by the Gods.
Sil'Eph Niir's counterpart, the Black Dragon God Maglissos, was not satisfied with the way things were in eons past. Not long after Sil'Eph Niir populated the world with Dragons, Maglissos awoke to His own consciousness and sought dominion for His kin above all others. He embarked on a dark quest to conquer the Higher Plane and Mortal Realms alike using His power to influence the hearts and minds of those sensitive to His power's suggestive touch.
Ultimately Maglissos was defeated by the Gods and imprisoned in the Void Beyond Time, and the memory of His assault on both realms has been kept hidden from all mortals out of fear that the mere presence of His memory and story would be enough to help Him reawaken.
