“Thanks!” Darren waved her off before glancing to Pepe.
“Back to work we go then.” He hummed as Pepe joined him once more.

Soon the time for the Charity Ball rolls around. And their plans are now needed to be in their favor. The Haven’s are already positioned in various places awaiting any signal that indicates a need of help.

Darren was in civilian form. Standing alongside Marvin who made a point of adding a sickening amount of cologne on. As Darren tried his hardest to not gag.

“Remember your manners. Please. Last thing I need is for either of you to ruin the Green reputation and get my parents to disown me. It was hard enough convincing them Marvin was a civilized man.” Darren made sure to point out for the third time.

Marvin checked the time casually as their ride finally pulled to a stop in front of the building where the ball was taking place.

"Oooor do mess around and get him disowned might as well be two of us." Amber butted in gently elbowing her cousin with a playful smirk before crossing her arms over each other, pressing the long cream ruffles of her sleeves over each other, crimping them over the black waist coat she wore.

"Also...dude waaay to much cologne. I could smell you from the opposite side of the world." Amber said her typically green eyes now brown due to the contacts she wore as a civilian glancing warily at the event center as she unbuckled and slipped out of the vehicle in a swift fashion holding the door open for the other two.

"I'm joking obviously by the way Darren. I might not be raised filthy rich like you. But I take my job seriously. " She said waiting for the other two to get out before slipping into the event center, her footsteps near silent despite the heels she wore as she looked around discretely once inside.

"Alright, let's get to business....Marvin keep your eyes out for a small red head." She advised her eyes subtly searching the rook as she swiped a flute of champagne from a waitress, shooting her a grin and thanks as she did so.

“Gracen said it smelled fine.” Marvin refuted before sniffing himself and cringing.
“Ah, yeah I see what you mean.” He grumbled as he hurried to keep up.

Darren didn't hurry after the two as fast since he knew more people there and made a polite effort to greet most of them. Coming alongside the two and trying to not snort at Amber’s words.

“I’m well aware you take this job seriously. One of the few things you do.” He teased before brightening up and seeing some of his friends.

“Oh! Contact me if you need anything. And I’ll contact you if I find anything.” He waved before hurrying off.

“Redhead… alright. Small redhead.” Marvin hummed as he watched Darren hurry off.

“I don't think getting wasted will gain us any favors just so you’re aware.” He made sure to jab at her before walking off.

Amber rolled her eyes flipping her cousin off.
"Says you. You don't take anything seriously at all." She shot back letting out a groan as he ran off.
"Dumbass he was the one who was supposed to speak to Ivory." She grumbled under her breath watching him run off to join his friends. Before taking a sip of champagne and rolling her eyes at Marvin's words.

"I'm not going to get drunk it's a prop." She explained letting out a sigh seeing he was already slipping off as well, looking around and smiling a tad spotting a couple in their 50s and moving to discreetly get closer within the crowd.

A figure somewhat matching that description and wearing a long lavender dress could be spotted greeting and speaking to people politely near the center of the room.

Darren kept an eye out for any suspicious activities as he floated from group to group. Also being sure to check where Amber and Marvin are from time to time. Not wanting either to get bombarded by rich people.

Or possibly be jumped by any undercover cult members. Though Darren did hope none of the cult knew who they were as civilians. That would do them no favors.

Marvin had filtered himself into the room politely greeting a person here or there. Spotting the red locks and smiling. Turning to get Darren’s attention before realizing the man was in deep conversation with someone else.

“So much for him being useful,” Marvin grumbled as he moved to keep the redhead in his sight.

Fixing the cuffs of his sleeves and wondering if maybe he should have found a restroom to try washing off some of the cologne. Shaking his head at the idea and glancing to the windows knowing that the Haven’s were nearby in case things went wrong.

“Excuse me, ma’am. Lovely dress.” He approached her trying not to come off as threatening.

Well aware that sometimes he stood like he was about to clobber someone. She would probably deserve it considering her involvement with the cult. But considering she didn't know he knew, best for him to try and be pleasant.

Amber managed to reach a point where she could discreetly keep an eye on the couple clearly at the center of the event and moved to take a sip of her beverage stopping mid sip letting out a sigh between her teeth as she saw Marvin approaching the lavender clad figure and turned immediately to try and wave down her cousin and send him to connect with the two.

The figure startled slightly before turning towards him a pleasant thankful smile spreading across her face as she gave a slight bow of her head and skirt in a polite fashion.
"Oh! Why thank you so much!...I like your suit as well." She smiled returning the compliment, her green eyes flickering over to him as if trying to determine if she knew him or not. Momentarily looking a little uneasy, indiscernably so to an average bystander, upon determining that she in fact did not. Her hands left the silky folds of her dress as she fidgeted ever so slightly with the long lace sleeves, her eyes sliding past him momentarily across the room as if she was on guard about something as she other wise kept a pleasant smile and slight tilt to her head.
"Pardon me, I don't believe we've met before, my name is Ivory and you are?" She questioned, the mint green of her eyes focusing back on him.

“Marvin. Marvin Miller.” He greeted giving a bow just to be a tad dramatic.

His blue eyes flecked with bits of gold. Straightening up and looking over his shoulder noticing her slight glance. Eyes narrowed trying to make out any possible threats.

“Ah, but that’s probably not familiar to you… I’m here with some friends.” He hummed on as he offered a hand to her.

“If you don’t mind, I would love to get to know you.” His smile didn’t seem to reach his eyes.

And he was trying to be polite; but really he could feel his body repulsing at the idea of touching her. Still he had a job to do. And he wasn’t about to be a wuss.

Darren lifted his gaze from talking to some family friends when he saw Amber. Arching an eyebrow while holding his glass of champagne. Most of the liquid still in it as he snatched another hors d’oeuvre and made his way across the room to meet up with her.

Being stopped by Griffon Hayes. The look of pure irritation crossed his face a split second as he tried to get past Griffon. Still trying to be calm and not cause a fight with the other noble.

She gave an apologetic smile
"Ah...Im afraid I don't...Im sorry...it's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Miller." She hesitated scanning his face with well disguised suspicion before glancing back into the crowd and gently shook his hand for a moment before dropping it, taking a discreet step back giving him a warm smile.
"No, I wouldn't mind at all. You're a big supporter of Hungry Hearts I take it?" She questioned moving towards the buffet table slowly enough so he could follow. Any possible sign or clue of discomfort or scheming hidden underneath years of well practiced and enforced poise and calm. Stopping at the table and helping herself to a cup of coffee, taking the opportunity of having her back turned to scan the room.

Amber rolled her eyes at her cousin jerking her head in the direction of Marvin and Ivory and making a shoo motion towards him. Indicating he should get his butt over there . Wincing as her hand accidentally hit a passerby muttering a quick apology.

“Yes actually. It helps people in need. Those who can’t afford to help themselves. Still I wish there was more we could do. You know? To keep people safe.” His tone wasn’t the most friendly sounding; but it was sincere.

Darren glanced where she indicated and smiled. Frowning when Griffon blocked his view. Going to move around him.

“Excuse me… no offense I see you a lot Griff, we can catch up later yeah?” He gave a fake smile and hurried off towards where Ivory and Marvin were.

Hoping for dear life Marvin was behaving himself. A grin donning his face as he walked over.

“Ivy what a brilliant surprise! Ah, though to be expected since your parents are hosting this event.” Darren called out.

Effectively stepping between her and Marvin. Making his friend take a few steps back. Looking perturbed by the interruption.

She gave a smile taking a sip of her cup of coffee and a slight nod.
"I agree...Im personally a big fan of their youth shelter initiatives. They've been planning on constructing a new one in the northern sector of the city since there's been an increase in adolescent homelessness and unattended youths in that area. I truly hope we reach the donation goal tonight. And I agree...there's too much...violence in this world...the average person gets caught in between." She said her tone turning a little sad as her eyes darting around the room and then back to him tilting her head slightly
"Do you volunteer with them? You mentioned your here with fr-" She was cut of by the sudden appearance of Darren a delighted smile brightening up her face in a very genuine way at the man's sudden appearance .
"Darren!" She exclaimed her eyes lighting up as she almost spilled her coffee.
"It's been too long! How have you been? It's so good to see you!"

Amber snorted slightly at Darren's dismissal of Griffin turning her attention back to the hosts and documenting their on goings taking a sip from her drink.

“Yes yes the one and only! Have you been doing well?” He asked deciding to try and ignore the subtle middle finger Marvin was giving him.

The lightning user rolling his eyes and taking to watching the people around them. Taking a more thorough examination of the people around them. Arms crossed over his chest.

“Yeah… I used to…” Marvin whispered under his breath answering her question.
In reality he just didn’t have enough time to volunteer with all the cult stuff going on. And he hoped they could get some good leads here to take the cult down. So he could get more hours in helping the people of his community.

Her face fell slightly at the question before smoothing back out with a shrug.
"Yes I have been...apologies for losing contact for such a long time...something came up...again. " She said sheepishly rubbing the back of her neck glancing to the side.
"What about you? How have you been? And ah. Darren this is Mr. Miller, he's one of our guests tonight, we were just talking about the event and the galas goals for the night." She said glancing towards the blue eyed man smiling towards him as an attempt to rope him back into the conversation.

"Oh you did splendid! Most people I've spoken to haven't been all too familiar with the organization. Where di-" She paused for a moment turning a little pale before glancing over to Darren.

"Actually, Ive been stuck in here for the past couple of hours...join me on the balcony? " She questioned forcing her face back into a relaxed expression her fingers tightening ever so slightly around her cup of coffee.

“Yeah I know how it is. Our parents make us do crazy things sometimes.” He smiled and stretched out.

“I’ve been doing pretty good. One of these days I’ll convince my parents to let me do my own thing.” He hummed before glancing at Marvin and giving a nod.
“Greetings Mr. Miller.” His tone was subtly teasing.

“Ah, well actually you can catch up with… Mr. Green. I think I saw a friend of mine.” Marvin pulled away on a mission to figure out what was causing the redhead to be so nervous.
He hoped it would lead to clues. And he knew Darren could handle any manipulation thrown at him if the girl tried recruiting him.

Keeping an eye out for Amber hoping to tell her that Darren had Ivory handled so they could move and get information.

Darren watched Marvin go before gently moving and putting an arm around Ivory’s shoulders. Already going to guide her outside. Also taking note of how uncomfortable she seemed.

He supposed if this was a trap one of the Havens would swoop in if Darren got jumped. Or he could buy time for someone to do something. One or the other.

“I agree; it is so stuffy in here.” He tried to keep the mood light taking a glance around the room himself; much more familiar with who may be ailing his friend.
