"What!?"

Chef Jian of Pecharia Kingdom was frantically looking through the wooden cart full of deliveries. It was crucial that everything he ordered be on the cart, for the queen and king of the kingdom wanted to have the perfect cake made for their daughters eighteenth birthday party. What was on this cart made up a good portion of the ingredients needed for what was to be made for the celebration. However, the chef could not find the mint leaves that he specifically put on the list. If chef Jian became anymore upset, his perfectly curled mustache just might lose its curl. The chef looks out of the castles window, the sun almost completely behind the mountains that surrounded the kingdom. Soft, golden sunlight shines into the kitchen, and the chef now felt calm enough to ask about the missing delivery items. His brown eyes focus on the delivery man, who has never had issues before when retrieving items for the kingdom.

"So, why are there no mint leaves?"

The delivery man is quick to answer, sunlight highlighting his facial features.

"There was a forest beast blocking the field where the leaves were located. Creatures with green-colored skin."

The chef sighs.

"Okay, thank you. You may leave."

Chef Jian knew he didn't want to worry the queen or king about the missing mint leaves, especially because the leaves were essential for flavoring the cake just way the princess wanted. He walks to the window and looks below at the streets made of pebble, wondering if he could find anyone within the kingdom to brave the giants. Just then, he remembers a pair of guards who might be willing to brave the giants. With a pep in his step, the hopeful chef makes his way down through the castle and outside. Everyone was talking about the party that was going to be in two days. The chef pushes his way through a small crowd talking by the grand fountain, an exquisite stone display of four women with water coming out of vases they are holding. All of them are designed with peaceful expressions on their face, each looking vastly different from one another. Jian straightens out his white button-up shirt, and approaches the guards with a look of hushed urgency.

"May I have a word with you, gentlemen?"

Although the summer days are rather hot, neither of them ever complained about how sweaty they get under their metal armor. Instead, they find refuge under the shade of Sweetgum trees that have been planted thoughtfully around the kingdom. Victor, whose long, brown hair merely compliments his beard, stands taller. He then nudges Zurton to pay attention.

Jian clears his throat. "I have a quest for you." His brown eyes squint slightly, for he waits to see how the guards are going to react before proceeding with his request. "Though it is very important no one knows I am asking you."

"How can we help?" asks Victor, his voice deep and somewhat raspy.

"We need mint leaves from the fields outside of the kingdom. It is important... the royal family has asked for them. However, there is word of beasts where said leaves are." With a look of sanguineness in his eyes, he clasps his hands together and waits for a response.

The guards look at one another before Victor turns to Jian and Zurton walks to begin getting ready for the quest tomorrow. "We will get the mint leaves."

"Thank you very much!" shouts Jian.

The next morning, both Zurton and Victor are by the entrance to the kingdom. They are getting their horses ready for the quest that should only take one day. Both of the horses are brown, with light blondish manes and tails. Around the entire front wall of the kingdom are dark green vines with fuschia-colored flowers on them. Zurton strokes his chin, admiring these flowers in a whole new way this morning. He then notices a gecko crawling on the white walls, though it quickly hides behind the vines after extending its tongue and eating a small bug from a leaf.
Laughing softly, Zurton's armor makes distinct noises as his body moves.

Victor gets on his horse, shielding his green eyes from the sun as he looks out over the vast fields ahead. "Let's move out," he calls to Zurton.

The two gaurds trot along past dirt paths and eventually come to a signpost. It reads that to the north is the Engrulian Forest, east leads to Voria Town, and to the west is Umonji Town. Victor and Zurton direct their horses to begin running, and they set off towards the forest. Traveling through fields and hills of tall grass, they make their way to the Engrulian Forest. The forest features many Eucalyptus regnans trees, with various wildlife and diverse plants. During the evening, it is rumored that there are vicious monsters. Zurton does his best to conceal the fact that he is happy he isn't venturing into the forest at night. He reaches into his saddlebag and takes out an apple the chef gave him, though accidentally drops it when he hears an odd noise from within the forest. Victor shakes his head, and uses his sword to retrieve the apple. He gives it to his horse, then takes the apple from his saddlebag to give to Zurton's horse.

Victor gets off of his horse and gently strokes the horses neck. "We'll be back." The gaurds then both enter the forest after tieing their horses to trees near the entrance to the forest. Once they venture inside, the sunlight shining through the gaps of the branches illuminates the dust in the air. Forest critters watch from behind the safety of trees and bushes, and birds communicate from branches near the top of the trees. They reach two paths in the middle of the forest, and choose the one they know will lead them to the mint leaves because they have been to the forest before. The forest path is narrow with different berry plants and flowers, and both of them occasionally have to step over logs and walk across them in certain areas. It does not take them long until they approach two tall bushes with purple flowers surrounded by Eucalyptus regnan trees. There is a space between these bushes, and just beyond the bushes is the clearing where the mint leaves are located. Victor leads Zurton slowly, carefully peeking through the bushes. Just like Chef Jian said, there was indeed a forest beast. From what Victor could see, the beast was almost as tall as the forest trees with dark green skin, pointed ears and a long nose, bright yellow eyes, white hair and a long white beard, and a pair of maroon pants covering his legs. His size was the only thing intimidating about him, and Victor had already begun making a plan to get to the mint leaves. Victor looks at Zurton.

"Okay. I will do my best to distract him, and you hurry and pull as many mint leaves as you can. Hurry, 'cause I dont want to hurt him."

"Okay. When you are ready." replies Zurton.

The forest beast paces back and forth by the mint leaves, enjoying their scent. His facial expression shows one of pain, though the smell of the mint leaves soothes him some. From behind the bushes, Victor braces himself before walking out, though he holds his sword in a way that he hopes won't seem alarming to the beast. The beast notices him and begins walking towards Victor, so Zurton slowly walks towards the mint leaves. Although trying to be quiet, the forest beast senses him and turns, swinging his giant bat made from a tree. Zurton dodges the attack, and Victor notices a large branch stuck in the beasts back. He figures if he can maybe help the beast remove the branch from his back, he wouldn't be so angry. Since the creature is distracted by Zurton, it allows Victor to climb a giant rock so he can reach the beasts back. Once ontop of the rock, Victor puts his sword down and quickly jumps, holding onto the large branch with his feet on the beasts back. With all his might, he pulls at the branch, and it eventually comes loose. Victor begins to fall, though the happy beast catches him and places him on the ground gently. The forest creature uses his fingers to grab Victor's sword and hand it to him. He bows gracefully and disappears into the forest. Victor and Zurton both pick some mint leaves, and make their way back to their horses.

The sky is deep orange and blue as the sun is setting. Both gaurds ride their horses back to Pecharia Kingdom, where Chef Jian awaits them under a popular Sweetgum tree. Victor hands over the mint leaves, and the chef immediately begins preparing the cake for the festivities tomorrow.

Not really wanting to socialize with all of the people at her party, Princess Riya hides in the hallway and looks out at her party. All of the people were so happy the day had finally arrived, feeling it was a glorious day in the kingdom. The throne hall is decorated with dark blue ribbons everywhere, and Princess Riya's dress is stunning. She is wearing a long and flowy peach-colored dress made of chiffon with sheer, light pink georgette fabric lining the bottom of the dress and decorating the sleeves of her dress. There is also a beautiful light blue bow covering her chest. When she notices her cake, she can't help but join the party. It is a white cake with three layers and ornate designs, with two perfect mint leaves on the top layer with berries between them.

Chef Jian walks beside her. "I hope you like it, Princess Riya."

The princess begins to reply to the chef, though Victor approaches them both.

"You look lovely on your birthday, princess," he says with a bow. Standing tall again, he turns to Jian. "May I have a word with you?" he asks.

The chef agrees and the two step aside. Victor flashes him a grin. "I was wondering if you would like to have tea with me tomorrow?"

"Oh... uh, sure." replies Jian.

And so, the party was a success, and Jian was asked out by none other than the valiant Victor.
