Etheldreda Sano

The Sano family is a small, closely knit family that comes from Latissa. Though Deron and Astra Sano planned to save up money from their clinic to move to Bonesborough, then start a family, Astra became pregnant while they were still in Latissa. Despite their plan, they decided to keep this child, who they named Etheldreda. Etheldreda grew up surrounded by potions, medicines, healing magic, and witches who needed help. She took after her parents, and became caring, thoughtful, and during her childhood it was a common sight in the Sano Clinic to see a small Etheldreda following one of her parents around, carrying a small tray of potions and salves.

She later attended Glandus High's early student programs, where her good nature was quickly taken advantage of by others, who were encouraged to do so by the school philosophy of rule of the strong. Instead of adopting the culture of Glandus, Etheldreda instead held onto the ideals that she grew up with. Though through the years she became more and more jaded, more and more distraught. It was clear that learning at Glandus was having a negative effect on her, but as Glandus was the only school available, there was no choice.

There was a turning point in young Etheldreda's life however. When she was 10, helping in the clinic after a particularly rough school day, a new patient appeared. A tall, mysterious, Abomination witch who went by the name of Liberi, entered the clinic seeking shelter and care for a cold he caught during the rainy season. While being given medicine for the cold, he noticed Etheldreda's bruises, and asked what happened. Etheldreda revealed everything about her troubles with attending Glandus, and Liberi offered a shoulder to lean on. Then he offered a sword. Liberi was a traveling fencing master, and for her help in the clinic, Liberi was offering to teach her his ways, to which Etheldreda agreed. For the week he was being mended to, and for another following month, he taught her how to use Abomination magic, and how to fight. This seemed to change something in Etheldreda, and very quickly she changed her image at Glandus from someone you could push around, to someone not to be messed with. She retaliated against anyone who challenged her quickly and fiercely, rising up the ranks with surprising speed. Despite her new strength, she remained a loner, this time by choice. She was disgusted how the people who bullied her, and the people who stood by watching, now trying to gain her favor.

Six years later, her parents finally saved up enough money to move to Bonesborough, the city Etheldreda was supposed to be born in. And she would transfer to Hexside, School of Magic and Demonics, the school she was supposed to attend. Because of the troubles she experienced in her childhood, she's grown to be a quiet, contemplative 16 year old, who is protective of her things, wary of new people and new environments. And thanks to Liberi, she can be surprisingly assertive and decisive. Now, in Bonesborough, her parents have a new clinic, a new home, and Etheldreda has a new start.

Magic wise, she is very gifted in inanimate abomination clay manipulation, in her entrance exam she proved that she possessed an ironclad grip on her abomination control. The demonstrative pyramid she formed was only able to be disrupted by the Professor of Abominations, and even then, they were unable to fully take control of the goo. However, in the field of abominations, Etheldreda has zero skill or motivation to create a golem. In her general education, her Mathematics and History of The Boiling Isles is lacking, as she would often skip those classes to secretly listen in on Healing track classes. Her grasp on general use spells is quite good as well, and her interest, secret attendance, and practice in her parents' clinic, has made her quite a capable healer for her age.

...

Since her time in Hexside, she has been able to create simple golems, however giving them autonomy is still giving her trouble. Personality wise she puts on a social butterfly act, and has been making connections in many of the other tracks.

Thomas Vlasic:

The Vlasic family is a well-off upper middle class family living in the suburbs of Bonesborough. His parents, Andrew and Bella Vlasic, were both illusionists. From a young age, little Thomas was exposed to lots of illusion magic, causing him to want to follow in both of his parents' footsteps. He now hopes to follow in his parents' footsteps and feel immense pressure to do so successfully. Thomas' dream is to master the art of illusion magic and one day make his parents proud for choosing the same coven as them and mastering their art.

Growing up in the suburbs just outside of Bonesborough, Thomas was sent to Hexside. Thomas's father Andrew coming from a rich family graduated from St. Edpiderm's school of magic and Thomas' mother Bellas graduated from Hexisde. Growing up raised by two illusionist masters, Thomas picked up on the art of illusions a bit himself. He passed his entrance exam with flying colors, granted it was simply a test on only the basics of illusions. Thomas only has a basic grip of illusions and certainly has much to learn at Hexside. He hopes to be able to keep up with the pressure from his parents and from school work.

Thomas Vlasic grew up as a very quiet boy who mostly kept to himself. From an early age, it was easy to see that Thomas was a very reserved and timid young boy. However, the boy was raised to be very polite and respectful, turning him into a bit of a goodie two shoes rule follower. He has immense respect for his elders and authority figures, but he is certainly not a suck-up or a teacher's pet. The boy has lived his whole life in an upper middle class suburb just outside of Bonesbourogh, so that environment is pretty much all the boy knows. Thomas never had too many friends growing up since he was so shy and timid. The boy certainly never went out of his way to make new friends and became somewhat of a lone wolf- often preferring to be alone.

In terms of his magical ability, he only has a very basic grasp of illusions magic, growing up in household where that type of magic was extremely common and practically performed on the daily. Thomas is particularly good at any courses relating to history, being naturally gifted in the subject. He does tend to struggle with other classes though not relating to illusions or history but is generally a good well rounded student who achieves good marks. He certainly never finds himself getting into any trouble.

Thomas is a 15 year old straight male.
