News of the aliens started out as rumors at first. Sure, there were the usual flying saucer stories that had been flying around since long ago. But these new rumors were different. These were different. Saucer shapes were old news now. These shapes were a lot more different now. And the stories were different now too. Whereas the other stories were frequently told from the perspective of a kidnapped 'abductee', these new stories were more and more now from the perspective of people WILLING to board these strange spacecraft. It seems the supposed aliens were now giving people the CHOICE to board or not. And there was a lot more media coverage about it now. There were often photos now. And they looked a lot more real than all the old ones. There were even videos now. There were still skeptics of course. But more and more legitimate proof was turning up. It was starting to look more and more real.
Government document leaks started happening. Stories of diplomacy between the aliens and humans were beginning to spread. And this wasn't just from crazy hillbillies and conspiracy theorists in America. The alien contact conspiracy theory was now world wide. It was getting harder to cover up.
Chaos ensued in the streets as people worldwide demanded the truth. Rebellions, riots, uprisings, etc happened. Until eventually, the governments of the world slowly began declassifying things. Aliens were real. They were here. And we are to assume, that they are NOT here to invade like in the movies. They had been watching you for some time now. They had much information on you. They were going through proper customs but they made their intentions very clear. They were going to reveal themselves to the public, whether the national governments wanted them to of not. This of course made the U.S. very upset.
There was a bit of a shaky start when the U.S. would sometimes fire upon these ships and shoot them down. These ships were peaceful space probes and ships of science. It was a wonder it didn't cause an interplanetary WAR. The aliens lost some good scientists in those attacks. The U.S. was unable to salvage anything from the ships because they always self destructed when they were shot down. Either that or flat out escaped. Eventually though, after some diplomacy, the crisis was averted.
It's been some years now and the aliens have slowly been integrated into human society. There are now alien tourists, embassies, etc.
Which brings us to NOW.
You have both been invited by some very important people to receive one of the greatest honors one could ever be granted. You have been invited to go on an all expense paid cruise ship to the alien homeworld! How exciting! Somebody within your circle of allies has pulled some strings and you are now at the airport, on your way to meet the alien Emperor himself!
You've never even SEEN an alien before. They have tourists in California sure. Sure there are a few that have been on tv. But your busy lives have prevented you from watching much tv. You just haven't had the time to look over the information. The trip came as a complete surprise to you. Whoever pulled these strings did not give you proper notice. You haven't even had time to learn any of their language (if they have any). Will you even be able BREATH over there? You've never even been in space. This is all just too much change for you to take in now. All too sudden.
You've heard stories. Stories about the politics of aliens on earth. But you were too busy too pay any of it attention. Now you wish you HAD as you sit and await your flight.
