prologue: the doctor who discovered the virus
He awoke terrified. Confident he had already died. He sighs audibly as he reclines in bed; it was all a nightmare. He holds his weary head in both hands, basking in the relief of being in his room instead, and stifles a nervous laugh. Shaking, he reaches for the glass of water on the nightstand next to his bed. As he turned on his reading lamp, he wondered why he was still thinking about it after all these years? A glimpse of the horrific woman appeared briefly in his mind. Her bent head and vacant stare haunted him. Suddenly, the air conditioner's hum transforms into the drone of the insects, and the warm and spicy air hits his face once more. A sour and sweet aroma permeates the room. His heart ran cold. It was still real, though. He spouts again, "It's not real.". Trembling hands bring the water up to his lips for a shaky drink. Minds can play tricks on you when frightened. His eyes were not as good as they once were. He must be seeing things and feeling jumpy. The doctor tries to take stock of his surroundings by swinging his legs over the side of his bed. His eyes slowly adjust, and he sees it's just the bedroom. He was at home, and everything was fine. Just fine. His heart skips a beat when the telephone rings. Unable to move with fear, his piercing blue eyes watch his telephone ring until the answering machine picks it up with a click. "You have reached the voice mail of doctor Trembly. Unfortunately, I am not coming to the phone right now. Please, leave a name, number, and explanation for the call, and I'll get back to you promptly. The doctor's eyes move side to side. Listening to himself so put together sounded alien. Then his blood ran cold as he heard the breathing on the other end.

introduction : present day
A supernatural virus is going around that changes their host's physical genetics and mutates them into otherworldly beings with an unstable apatite and a Bazar culture full of rituals considered alien/ taboo and dangerous to human civilization. Your character is either directly impacted by someone infected by the virus or has contracted the virus yourself; if you have acquired this, you are often marked by a "tracker" this isn't always a good sign. It means you have to go to the house of order or risk perishing and not returning to life.

setting and characters
Characters involved in this roleplay will be infected with the virus. One may only play as an infected individual for the time being. Each infected will have an element that their virus mutates or becomes an affinity to one of the four elements. This power grows in stages and, if overused, can consume its victim with its element. So, caution is warned. Infected are monitored like patients and students all at once. There is no stopping the change, and only those who have gone through it graduate into professors to teach others how to manage the change, and survive.
For their safety, the infected are isolated to an old university wing building. Called the order. There are six wings. One for each elemental vampire, one for the professors, and the other one is forbidden and rarely explored.
The location is North America, and there are four seasons. The location is not significant to the story, so that you may remain vague. There is a small town close by, but they are relatively ignorant or leave the house alone for the most part. The setting will develop as time progresses. For the time being, I would like you to focus on your characters and the order house right now. Your characters can come from all over the world. Their ages should be over 17 as the virus tends not to infect children the same way as young adults-adults.
Your character really wont know much about what they are in for. Except that it might be a bit of a reclusive treatment spa ambiance. They are forced to go so some may not even want to be there. Some , this may be a safe haven or escape from prison.
Elemental Vampires are also fairly different from one another but their temperaments are pretty recognizable :
Those who wield fire tend to have hot tempers or rage issues. Those who wield water are very intuitive to other peoples emotion's and perhaps a bit reclusive. The vampires who wielded air tend to have the gift of allure and those who wield the earth have startling amber eyes and a stoic nature about them not to mention the ability to hear microbes in earth. Amazing.
(The other abilities your character develops must fall within the affinity they have and furthermore it will develop over time and this is within your judgment.)

opening scene : January 2025 shortly after a solar storm hits earth ...
The opening scene is of your character waking up in their wing. Things will naturally progress and more will be explained as the role play goes along. The wing does give off a medical sterile ambiance but there is no signs of needles or iv's of any sort. It's all much more natural and threptic based. The hospital like setting is in a very old Victorian University hall. You are also not alone.
