The ride was as unpleasant as it could be. Lucy continued to demand answers, kicking anyone she could reach. The Romano goons remained quiet, staying out of range of her feet. The car slowly came to a stop, the brakes screeching to a halt. The bag distorted her vision, all she knew was she was being escorted out of the car. Her arms were squeezed against the sides of the henchmen as they lifted her off the ground. The florescent street lights beamed through the stitching of the bag, Lucy still unable to see where she was headed.

The light suddenly changed, becoming less harsh. Strangely enough, light music was audible in the background. She was forced to sit, resting on a comfortable cushion. The burlap sack was pulled off of her, exposing the environment around her. "You wouldn't believe how hard it is to get a date around here." Angel said, raising his wine glass. They appeared to be in a vacant restaurant, the music coming from a record player. Angel nodded to the goons, causing them to step back. "I feel like we didn't get enough time to talk last time. Well, now we have all the time in the world." He moved for the wine bottle, pouring her a glass.

Lucy was confused and scared as to what was going to happen with her. But as she was lead to what she assumed was the inside of a building, music could be heard and it threw her off guard. She still fought hard as she was escorted to a seat, still not sure as to where she was because of the sack. Suddenly, someone pulled off the sack unfortunately pulling some hair with it, causing her to hiss and place both of her hands to her scalp. As she looked up, her glance was met by a snake with blue eyes. Narrowing her eyes, she raised an eyebrow before laughing. "So you steal another man's girl? How very desperate of you." She snapped at him, not wasting time with any of his small talk.

The two goons who had brought her here stepped back with the approval from their boss before he explained his reasoning for bringing her here. Rolling her blue orbs, she shook her head. "So you went through all that trouble...just to talk to me." Grabbing the wine glass once he was finished pouring, she rotated the liquid in the glass a few times wondering if he had put something in the drink. Lifting the glass to her nose, she took a sniff before narrowing her eyes once more and setting the glass down. "More of a bourbon girl myself, doll. What do you want?"

"Of course you are, your people bleed it; I would know." He said with a smile, taking a sip of the wine. "I steal lives, stealing girls is child's play. Although, you're clearly not above that." He picked up the steak knife, pointing it to her. "Now, we have a problem. The meeting didn't go as planned. Your pops was talkin' out of his ass and made some ridiculous propositions that only a mad man would accept. I'm sure your family spits Vinnie's name like he's the devil himself. That isn't true, he wants peace just like the rest of you."

He moved for the fork, sticking it into the steak. "So his plan is to kill your daddy and then watch your family crumble. There's his peace." He looked up to Lucy, his face turning serious. "That's bad business for me, ya' see, I like my streets like I like my steak," he slide the knife between the steak, causing the pent-up juice to spill out, "bloody." He winked to her, slicing a piece of the steak off. "If we kill your dad, that's it, wars over. Which means I'm out of a job. Now, if your dad were to rethink his propositions and not make a fool of himself, then I'd still be in Vinnie's pocket as a precaution incase you guys acted up." He took a bite of the steak, chewing as he spoke. "So, here's what we're gonna do. I've been informed that your pop's birthday is next week. I reserved a beautiful resturant overlooking the ocean, there will be a show and everything. You're gonna' tell your dad that you booked that for his birthday. Once you guys are all there, you're gonna' butter your dad up and convince him to reschedule a meeting. I'm gonna have ears in that resturant to make sure you're actually doing as I tell you and not informing him that he could be dead before he gets to enjoy his old age. If you show up like I ask, I'll know you're doing what I say." He finished his mouth full, keeping his eyes on Lucy. "Now if you refuse, I'll have no choice, but to have your father killed and end the war."

Athena's little companion had been in her small messenger bag while she had been walking around. The girl figured that her beloved cat would want to window shop with her as well. Her brown eyes scanned the vast stores in the downtown area. The small, fluffy tortoiseshell kitten meowed. She chuckled, picking the little feline up in her arms, petting the little thing.
Athena hummed softly as she casually walked in the city. The young woman turned her direction, deciding to head to the jewelry shop on the far left of the area.
"Let's go browse Indie." Thena murmured softly. Her hair bouncing with her as she walked across the street.

Lucy's eyes widened slightly as he mention the spilling of blood so casually. It made her stomach lurch and she found herself reaching for the glass of alcohol out of habit and taking a long sip. She eyed him as he talked about the meeting but when he brought up news of Vinnie planning on killing her father, she nearly choked on her drink. Setting the glass down quickly, he had her complete attention now.

His plans for her father's birthday was quite extensive and he seemed to be prepared for everything. Lucy's heart raced thinking about what would happen if her father were to be killed. The family would fall apart, Conor would take over but with the shape he had been in as of late...he couldn't take over.

Despite her freaking out on the inside, she knew that if she reacted the way he wanted her to, she would have already lost this battle. But there was one question that popped into her mind, lifting the glass again..she sighed. "You really don't leave me much of a choice to refuse, but I guess that's what you wanted. But why me? Why can't you just leave me alone! You think you were so clever bringing up that kiss with James! Like I had a choice in the fucking matter!" She found herself getting more worked up, gripping the table till her knuckles turned white.

"You are mad, the only reason you want to keep my father alive is so you can continue this sick war! Don't you want to move on? Settle down? Or is that too much for a mad man?"

(Sorry if it's crap, on phone and going back into class)

Giovanni "Angel" Gambino

IMG_0797.JPG
He smiled as she got all riled up, continuing to cut up his steak. "Because you're special, Lucy. Every time I look at your brother, or your dad, or even your little fluffy bunny of a boyfriend. I see regret in their eyes, genuine regret." He took a bite of his steak, leaning in closer as he squinted at her. "Not you. You may 'feel' regret, but you're not sorry." He leaned back in his chair, taking another sip of his wine. "Y'see killing isn't an acquired taste. You're either a sheep or a wolf. To people like us, it becomes an addiction."

He used his fork to nod, bobbing it up and down. "Like the drag of a cigarette. That feeling of the smoke running through your lungs, satisfying ever cell running through your veins." He paused for a moment, looking to his plate before looking back up at her. "Have you ever strangled someone, Lucy? Have you ever just..." he gritted his teeth as he clenched his fork. "Just wrapped your hands around someone's neck and squeezed every drop of life out of them. To people like us, there is no pleasure in the world that can even begin to match that." He ran his tongue across his lips, the thought of it almost exciting him.

Lucy would begin to feel dizzy, her vision distorting. If she was observent enough in this state, she'd see her drink was fizzing out of control. Angel's voice fell into an almost hushed whisper, a sinister smirk across his lips. "You know why I poked James the way I did? You know why I exposed you to who you are? Insanity is like gravity... Sometimes all ya' need is a little... Push." Lucy at this point fell out of her chair, unable to focus on anything in particular. She would begin to see three of Angel, the light in the background blending and swirling. "Sweet dreams, princess." Is the last thing she would hear before everything went black.

Lucy listened and hung onto every word he spoke, though there wasn't much to do when kidnapped and forced to have dinner with a man who was out to ruin everything she stood for. He spoke of not seeing the genuine regret in her eyes, wondering if what he spoke of was true. It was hard, one man told her she was born to be a cold blood killer and another told her that she was nothing of the sort.

As he began to talk about cigarettes she though about how much she could use one at the moment and how nice it would be to smoke when he suddenly changed the subject to strangling someone. Her eyes widened as she listened to his horrifying image of taking someone life with his bare hands. She was about to get even more worked up than she had before.

She had a lot to say to this man but it seemed that something had been slipped in her drink. Looking down, she noticed the uncharacteristic fizzing and cursed. "I am nothing like you. I...I..." it was hard to find the words as her body lost control of itself.

Next thing she knew she was collapsed on the floor with Angel, who had multiplied , advancing towards her.The fear evident on her face as she had clearly been drugged. His words didn't make sense anymore and her eyelids grew heavy, soon the peace of deep sleep took over her body and soften her features

Angel continued to smile, standing up out of his chair. The two guards stepped forward, their submachine guns hung over their shoulders. Angel picked up his glass of champagne before taking a generous sip. "Take her back to the Sullivan household and sneak her into her room. If the securities too tight, then just leave her infront of the gate. I don't really care, just get her out of my sight." The guards did as they were told, picking up Lucy's lifeless body and taking her back to the car. Angel continued to enjoy his wine, sitting back down to finish his meal.

Vinnie smirked when Lorenzo called him a narrow-minded prick. It paid to be that way in the business and if his relatives couldn't handle that then perhaps they needed to find a new city to settle in.

Then Lorenzo said he would tell him why he betrayed him if he won in what Vinnie could only assume was an attempt at a fight. Pushed towards the table, Vinnie steadied himself before any damage was done. Vinnie grinned at his cousin before slamming his fist into the man's jaw. It would be unwise to assume Vinnie couldn't fight. He may have people to do his dirty work for him, but Vinnie wasn't stupid enough to leave himself weak. Men had felt his wrath in fights and beatings many times.

Though the two men would get in many punches, Vinnie would stop the fight in good time. Once he'd been refreshed enough by having his fill of someone finally willing to fight him, of course.

"Oh, just stop already. I think we're having too much fun for this to be productive. You tell me why or you don't, it's not even relevant at this stage. So I gave you a hard time tonight, because I wanted to get a rise out if you and get these punches out of our system. Now, if another punch is thrown tonight, we're done, for good. Or, we just put this behind us now? I may piss you all off, but family is the most important thing right now." Vinnie sighed. He had many things to sort out and getting distracted by having a feud with Lorenzo wouldn't be helpful. "I'm not sure what it's like where you're staying right now. But there's room at my home." It really would seem like Vinnie enjoyed being hit a few times.

Sinead Sullivan

Sinead had started her night in the club drinking cocktails very quickly. But she was soon approached by a couple of her old friends. Friends she could tell about her broken heart. Although she had a nice enough night, nothing healed and she felt no happier. But the two friends made sure Sinead was dropped off at home in one drunken piece. She eventually crashed out on her bed, not leaving her room for most of the following day and not speaking to anyone.

James Porter

James had not been happy about letting Lucy go off after Sinead alone, but he knew better than to crowd a woman. Besides which, he had his own looming business to sort out. After telling David to watch for the sisters returning, James headed off to plan out the side job he was going to be working to get the money he needed. After that, he returned to the Sullivan house and crashed on the sofa.

Lorenzo’s jaw shuddered at the force of Vinnie’s punch, they’d be a bruise tomorrow morning. Stepping back from the impact, he then suffered a few more punches, then giving some of his own. In the end, they were equal, although Vinnie’s jaw shot stung with vigerous pain.

Dropping his shoulders as he called the fight, he ran a lazy hand through his tossed hair. So he had done this on purpose? Not surprised. But he didn’t hate him...? “Well you certainly achieved your goal Vincenzo...”

Leaning against one of the chairs, arms crossed, head towards his cousin. He sighed, giving a simple nod to his request. “Ever since we were boys, i’ve always felt you were better than me... Eventually I started trying to become you, which led to my parents breaking away to Tuscany. And it worked for a good while, until I grew old enough to fend for myself. That’s when I reconnected with you and ...” Pausing, unsure what to call his widow, he continued. “You pushed me away, in a time I needed family... So then I went down the lawyer pathway, so that leaves us 15 years ago.”

Giving a once-over to Vinnie, assessing if he was ready. “The first time I came to the Midwest was that night. I think we both remember it quite well. I had left the firm for a brief getaway, arriving at your house that evening, and you were just tucking Alexandra into bed. I had already done the deed then, but I wanted to let you know. Personally. I was angry with you. I felt abandoned for 25 by the only family I ever really cared for, and I wanted you to feel that. That’s why I turned in a case file, which I had built over the course of a year, to the police.”

It wasn’t a proud moment in life, but it was the truth. Surprised by Vinnie’s next response, his eyes widened. “I’m surprised your not fuming Vincenzo...?”

Vinnie nodded his head in agreement when Lorenzo noted that he'd achieved his goal. It wasn't often the man failed, as cocky as he may be about that. Vinnie used a nearby napkin to wiped some blood from his bust lip, not bothered by it as they'd both have a fair and equal fight. He decided not to act smug as Lorenzo explained how he'd tried to become like him, only listening with interest. "Gianna." he interrupted as his cousin struggled with her name. "When I pushed you away, I was still settling into this role and there were enough people compromised by this business. But, I was my father's son even back then, pushing people away and being pricks about it is what we did... I still do." He wasn't saying it in a regretful or apologetic way as such. He knew he was an asshole now but he'd stopped caring what others thought by this point.

"Well, I felt it alright, Lorenzo. The only reason I let you walk away that night is because we'd been close so many years ago and it was never my choice for us to be taken away. That was on our parents' heads," he told him.

Vinnie casually walked around the table collecting the glasses and placing them on the bar. He figured the cafe owner had been put out enough without having to clean up after her late night unwanted guests. "I was angry at the time. I'm angry about many things as we speak. But there's no time or space for me to stay mad at family. We've had long enough to get over this. I'm willing to put this to rest now. I hope you are too. Besides which, if you give me a few days, I may have an area of the business you'd feel right at home with overseeing."

Leo smiled as Alex reassured him. He was glad the old Alex was back as those weeks following her mother's death, he barely recognised the young woman. He was trying his hardest not to fall down that same path, but he knew something had to give. In an ideal world, he'd go to the cops with the killer's name, but he knew even though Vinnie sympathised with him, he would never be able to forgive him if he talked to the cops.

When Alex went on to say she thought she was in love with someone, Leo picked up that it was complicated, but he smiled brightly at her revelation nonetheless. "I hope I get to meet him some day. If only so I can warn him not to hurt you!" she told her.

Chapter 10: Happy Birthday, Mr Sullivan
Friday 10th November 1948
Evening – Cold with rain showers.

...Post 1 of 2...

The Sullivans

The Sullivan house was filled with activity and mostly excitement as the family got ready for their evening out to celebrate Emmet's birthday. Lucy had kindly arranged a birthday dinner for the family and their friends to attend. The venue was a show and dinner restaurant place in a beautiful spot on a cliff overlooking the ocean in Illinois.
Sinead Sullivan

149815201116311.jpg Sinead had barely spoken to any of her family over the last week. Without being specific or mentioning Angel, she'd tried to warn Lucy that something bad was going to happen, but her sister had reassured her otherwise. In fact, she'd even made comments to other members of her family, but they appeased her by saying something bad was always likely to happen and she was just worrying since the failed meeting.

At work, Sinead had planted on the happy, carefree and flirty mask she'd recently been finding easier to fake. She'd managed to shut her mind off whilst playing the piano in the restaurant, the passion in her playing receiving only compliments. If only they knew of the thoughts that were driving such emotion. One of the waiter's had been flirting with Sinead, or at least attempting to. He was handsome, well-spoken, by all rights the kind of man Emmet would have been happy for her to bring home to meet him. However, she soon turned him down and hoped they could still be friends, at best. Sinead knew there was only one man she wanted to be with and that was Giovanni. Despite what she had thought and said the night Angel called her, she felt differently now. Though she knew this wasn't entirely her fault, she couldn't help but think she had completely misinterpreted his intentions and what he was saying. After all, he had suggested on their last date that they ran away together. Not the words of someone who was just using her, she thought. Knowing she'd lost him was slowly killing her on the inside.

Sinead had spent a lot of time mentally preparing herself for Emmet's birthday party. The last thing she wanted to do was be miserable on her dad's special day. Besides which, Conor had talked her into getting up onto the stage and singing as a little surprise for their parents, with Lucy calling ahead to arrange for that to happen with the restaurant manager. She never felt nervous about singing - not until she had to sing in front of her parents. Once she was dressed and ready, she made her way downstairs to wait for the rest of her family. She saw Finn and walked over to him as he had the kind of laid back personality she needed to be around right now. "You looked really smart, Finn," she told her cousin and smiled brightly for him.

Conor Sullivan and Shannon Sullivan

hnbkjhb.png bhj.png

Conor was excited for the party, just being able to spend some time with the family and have a bit of fun in the process. After how much stress his family had been under, this was exactly what was needed. He was feeling decidedly chirpy this evening and he hadn't had headache for a few days now. He'd seen Alex the previous night and catching up with her had also put a spring in his step. He only wished she could be with him tonight.

After dressing smartly, Conor made his way downstairs and approached his mother. "You're looking stunning, mam," he told her.

"Thank you, sweety. You're looking pretty handsome yourself," she said, straightening out his shirt for him. She then caught Emmet's eye and winked at him. "Just like your father," she was quick to add.

"Oh jeez. You're making me blush!" Conor joked. He then noticed Aidan nearby and waved him over. "Mate, I'm going to be your wingman tonight. If there's a hot waitress around there, I'm going to get you a date with her. Agreed?" he asked, though Conor wasn't even asking permission.

James Porter

hh.png
The last few days had been all over the place for James. He and David had carried out some jobs over in Indiana, leaving a few businesses thousands of dollars lighter and their own pockets heavier. James had yet to hand the money over to Vinnie, having only just returned early today. He'd been concerned about Lucy over the last couple of weeks but she seemed to be holding up okay.

James had been ready for a while, with a suit and a gun a regular part of his wardrobe this wasn't much different for him. He'd spent quite some time earlier checking the cars were all safe and running, as part of his usual cautiousness when the Sullivans were to be driven about. After last week's meeting, James was not taking any chances. However, he'd told himself to at least try to relax once he got to the party so as not to put a downer on Lucy's evening. After having a smoke and a lengthy discussion with David, he headed back into the house to see if Lucy was ready yet. One of the better parts about going out on 'dates' with Lucy was watching her descend the staircase looking hot in everything she chose to wear.

Emmet Sullivan

IMG_0801.JPG

He watched him family from afar, happy to spend a not-so-important day with the people he loved the most. Emmet slowly approached his family, fixing his tie into place. "Can't believe I'm 30." He jokingly said, shaking his head at his own old age. He approached his wife, placing his hand on the curvature of her back. "Weren't you lucky to get such a young buck?" He sarcastically said. He looked to Conor, eyeing him up and down. "If I didn't know any better, I'd assume you were using my old age to score yourself a date. Don't get too excited, it's gonna be mostly family." He rested his hand on Conor's shoulder squeezing it lightly.

He looked to James, who was waiting at the bottom of the staircase for Lucy. He nodded to his family with a smile, moving to James. He wrapped his arm around James' shoulder, as if he were just another family member. "She's gorgeous isn't she?" he asked, referring to Lucy. "Y'know, at first I was a little skeptical of you and her, but now I'm certain there's no one else I'd rather have dating my daughter than you." He looked to James, moving his eyes down to his blazer. "I understand the precautions, but enjoy yourself. Tonight's about family and nothing else." He patted James chest.

The Romanos

Vincenzo Romano

09571387053fa33551f483d377add60a.jpg
Vinnie had decided the family needed to have some time together, feeling like he hadn't had much time for his kids lately and to help Lorenzo get to know the family personally. Lorenzo had been staying at the Romano home for a few days now and Vinnie was just about ready to make his cousin a business offer. For now, he'd invited everyone, including Athena, Leo, Fortuna and Olivia, to the fancy Italian restaurant for dinner and drinks. Olivia, he had invited because he'd heard a little mention that Nicolo had taken her to the theatre the previous week. Who knew Vinnie would suddenly want to play matchmaker? Regardless, Olivia hadn't shown up as yet, despite accepting the invite.

Though he'd booked a large table for all of the family, the place was filled with other members of the public so Vinnie's family could mingle if they saw fit to. As they were being seated at the round table, Vinnie gestured for Alex to sit at the seat next to him, feeling like they hadn't spoken much lately. "You know, Alexandra, there's a job vacancy going at this place; waitress and barmaid. I think you'd get it without even trying," he assured her. "I know you enjoy the diner, but I think you're wasted there. What do you think?" he asked her.

Leo Davide

chasecra.jpg
Leo had reluctantly accepted Vinnie's dinner invite, by now knowing trouble followed the Romanos around. Hearing Athena had been invited was mostly what had encouraged him to attend. He just hoped he could get through the night without either speaking his mind to Vinnie or asking for Vinnie's help in matters of revenge.

Leo had been running a little late, so arrived after most of the others, rushing to the table and seeking out the empty spot alongside Athena. He hadn't seen much of her since Halloween, but he knew he had to change that. As Alex had said, it wasn't his fault that trouble kept following them around. "Evening, everyone," he greeted the table. "Hello, Athena. You look lovely," he quietly told her.

Shannon turned her head to face Emmet as he placed his hand on her back and spoke to her. "Hmm. Real lucky to get the sexiest young buck around," she flirtatiously replied. "I'll show you how thankful I am for that after the party," she teasingly whispered to him and kissed his cheek. When her husband spoke to Conor, she excused herself to give her make-up a last check in the hallway mirror.

Conor grinned when his dad said he was using him to score a date. "You've got me all figured out, haven't you?" he replied, with a chuckle. "Don't tell me there won't be pretty little waitresses running around all night. It's the only reason I'm coming to your shitty party," he joked. In reality, he cared for Alex enough to be faithful and so wouldn't be looking to flirt with any lady tonight.

When Emmet wrapped his arm around his shoulder, James was quite taken aback by the man's friendliness towards him. Lucy had told him countless times he was part of the family, but he'd not expected Emmet to be so easy to accept him in that way. When his boss mentioned how gorgeous Lucy was, James turned to look the man in the eyes. He listened as Emmet explained he was sceptical at first but had now come around to the idea, even so much as to say he would rather it was James than anyone else with his daughter. "That means a lot, Emmet," he began, feeling awkward talking to his boss on such a personal level. Their conversations had mostly always been about business and serious matters. "Lucy is a beautiful young woman and I care about her. I care very much for her," he told him. He loved her, but he just couldn't quite managed to say that to Emmet, figuring neither of them wanted this kind of mushy talk so early on. When Emmet pointed out the gun, James nodded his head. "I understand and I will try to enjoy myself. We both know by now I'd feel lost without it, though."

Today was the day. The moment had finally arrived, and Lucy was dreading every single minute of it. Her thoughts went back to the night she had the unfortunate pleasure of talking with Angel, and recalled her waking up in a bush just outside of the house in the early hours of the morning. Lucy had done everything he asked and more, but for some reason she felt as though it was going to go wrong. It was like walking on eggshells with the man, her father's life depended on her actions tonight. As she stared at the gown hanging up on her wardrobe door, she wasn't even experiencing excitement like the others in the house seemed to be.

Lucy thought about her options, which were slim. She could not do what Angel said, but that would result in the death of her father. Or she could follow along as planned...but she still didn't believe that it would end alright. Why would the man go through all the trouble to get her father into this restaurant. The woman wasn't stupid, behind the words she knew there was an alternative motive for why Angel was wanting this to all go as planned.

And if she was being completely honest with herself, she wanted to see him suffer more than anyone. The dreams that came to her at night seemed to have more of a purpose. That night after the dinner with Angel, she had dreamt about squeeze the very life that he held so deal from his body and watching as he disintegrated into nothing before her eyes. The dream had left her alarmingly satisfied and her desire to cause harm to that man was increasing each day he had her under his thumb. I just want to wrap my hands around his neck and just..... Her hands clenched in response to her deepest desires. The frustration of not being able to do so was blinding and before she knew it, the brush she had been holding in her hand flew from her grasp and lodged itself into the mirror on her wall.

The glass cracked and came crashing to the floor. Her breathing was heavy and she felt as though she wasn't actually in her room. After a long moment, she looked down at the broken glass and walked towards it. Picking up a piece, she lightly observed it. I could end it all now. Kill herself and leave Angel to try and kill her father. Blue orbs stared at the piece for a long while before she finally mustered up the courage to change and head down stairs.

Before stepping out of her bedroom door, she placed a warm smile on her face, faking it so she could make it through this night. Walking down the hall and down the stairs, she smiled a bit wider upon seeing her father and James conversing. "Did I miss something?" She asked softly and looked between the two. "Wow, who knew you tough guys could clean up so nicely." She winked playfully and laughed. The performance she gave was quite convincing, she only hoped she would be able to maintain it without showing what was underneath it all.

The last few days for Finn had been rather uneventful. Whilst everyone was working to sort out the drama that happened after the meeting, Finn had been working at the pub most nights to try and earn his keep at the house. So a change in pace was exciting to him when Lucy mentioned that she had booked a restaurant for Uncle Emmet's birthday. He even saved up some money to by the man something for letting his sister and him stay in their home. Finn was realizing that it was important to have family around and that he had been depriving himself and Maggie of proper family time. He couldn't even remember the last time he went to a event like this with his blood relatives.

Finn had been sitting and waiting around him his tux when Sinead joined him. A huge smile formed on his face along with a light blush as he waved his hand at her as if to tell her that he wasn't all that smart. "Thanks Sin, you are a total knockout this evening! I'm going to be keeping my eye on you young lady." He teased lightly and looked at her with the tilt of his head. She seemed a bit out of it. But he guess that it wasn't abnormal with the recent turn of events. "You excited for this thing? It was awfully nice of Lucy to go out of her way for Emmet, I wonder what the place is gonna look like?"

Emmet nodded as James explained he felt naked without it. "Understandable. After everything that's happened, from when I was gone all the way up to the meeting, things haven't been this tense in years. Let's enjoy this night, though. Let's not let the Romanos take this one away from us. Lucy's been telling me all about this place since last week, apparently it has a stunning view of the ocean. It's funny, really. She rarely makes her own breakfast, yet she organized this whole event." He chuckled, shaking his head lightly. "This clearly means a lot to her, so as your boss, i'm ordering you to relax tonight and enjoy yourself. I want you to get closer with the family, because by the way she looks at you," he pointed to Lucy, "I'd say there's a strong chance you'll be my son-in-law not too long from now."

Emmet smiled at Lucy's comment, nodding his head. "We didn't want to disappoint you, cupcake." He pulled the flask out from the inside of his vest, unscrewing the cap. "If we're all gonna' deal with extended family tonight, I suggest we get our drinks in now."

Alexandra had decided to dress smart casual for the family dinner and so dawned a short dress with a grey cardigan, the cardigan was chosen so her father would not be able to find fault in her outfit however she had no doubts that he would find something to complain about. Once at the restaurant Alex looked around at the other people present before he eyes focused on the table in which her family was to be seated. When her father called her, Alex gave him a smile before moving to sit beside him. When he mentioned working here, Alex looked around the restaurant "It is a nice place" She admitted "I say the pay might be a bit better, maybe longer hours" she mused the options out loud to herself as she thought about it "I'll think about it and let you know" She said with a smile. Alex looked around the table once more before looking back at her father "This is a nice idea" she praised.

Nicolo walked in to the restaurant with his father and Alex. As soon as he approached the table, his eyes scanned the faces around the table and in the restaurant. While one could think Nicolo was scanning for any dangers or unusual faces, he was actually looking for Olivia. The trip to theatre the following week had been enjoyable and Nicolo had a great time, he hoped Olivia had as well. He rather enjoyed her company but still wasn't too sure where he stood with her or what was happening between them. However in saying that he still hoped that she would show up tonight, especially since she said she was. Nicolo took a seat beside Alex, leaving the seat beside him free for if Olivia joined them

James couldn't help but smile as Emmet mentioned how much work Lucy had put into organising the party. He was glad she'd had something to distract her mind from the thoughts Angel had put into her mind on Halloween. "It sounds like she's picked a good venue and I can't wait to see it with my own eyes. Perhaps it's because she's doing something good for someone else that's motivating her," he suggested. He smirked when he was ordered to relax and enjoy himself. Maybe if he looked at it as a mission to have a good time, he'd be successful. He didn't like to fail, he knew that much. "Yeah, I-" James quietly began, but was cut off and sent into a moment of silence. Both Emmet's apparent approval should he desire to marry Lucy and the appearance of the beautiful woman herself were quite overwhelming for James. He'd told himself quite a few years ago that he would never marry and would devote himself to his work, but to think that there was a chance he would get married, have kids, do normal things, was daunting. What made it more daunting was that he realised he really did want a family and he wanted it with Lucy. "Oh wow, do I just start calling you dad now?" he remarked, with a smirk.

When Lucy told them they cleaned up nicely, James blushed a little, but in honesty, he was probably already blushing from what Emmet had just said to him. "You look stunning, Lucy," he assured her, not afraid to say it in front of Emmet, in light of what the man had just said to him. He placed his hand on her shoulder and kissed her cheek. James stepped back and watched as Emmet removed the flask. "I like your thinking," he said. It wasn't that he needed the alcohol for dealing with the family, more to deal with the party in general. Maybe he'd even drop his stance against dancing in public, for one night only.

"Thank you, Finn. I heard the place is near the ocean, so check out my earrings!" she told him, pointing to the starfish-shaped jewellery. Sinead rolled her eyes when Finn said he'd be keeping an eye on her. "Oh, please. I think you're the one who needs to be watched. Once you and Conor start drinking!" Sinead noticed the way he tilted his head and had the similar concerned looked she'd seen from other family members lately. She wished she could tell him the truth, because she felt like he would be the best guy to come to for support. "I'm excited, but I'm scared," she told him. "I have to sing in front of my parents and that always makes me nervous," she quickly added, hoping to appease any curiosity for her detached demeanour. "I think it's going to be amazing. Lucy wouldn't have picked any less for my Daidí's birthday." She sat next to Finn and rested her head on his shoulder as she waited for everyone to be ready. She felt nervous and her heart ached.

It was great to see her father in such a good mood. She took a moment longer to appreciate the mood he was in, hoping that this night would go by without any troubles. The knots in her stomach suggested otherwise, but she wanted to be able to at least try and enjoy the night. Even if it was planned by a mad man hiding behind a beautiful woman. Lucy hadn't even seen the place herself yet, Angel had left her with all of the information she would need the night they talked and she hadn't heard from him since. Maybe karma finally caught up with him... One could only hope for that, Lucy certainly did.

Her cheeks blushed slightly as she realized that James and her father had been talking about her and raised an eyebrow. But a compliment was thrown her way by James before her lightly kissed her on the cheek, before she could comment on the little gossip. Her cheeks warmed fiercely and she smiled happily at him. "Why thank you." Looking to her father as he pulled out the flask. A genuine laugh bubbled from her lips and she shook her head. "You make our extended family sound like they are a freaking circus..." Lucy wouldn't deny that they kinda were, it was going to be overwhelming to see so many of her family members tonight. Before her father could get a drink in, she snatched the flask from her and took a sip. "All this party planning has me a bit stressed. So the drink is much appreciated." She teased before handing it back to him.

Finn admired the jewelry dangling from her ears with a broad smile and shook his head, scoffing slightly with another wave of his hand at her words. "What us? We may get hammer but hell that doesn't mean we turn into complete toddlers...does it?" Finn could never really remember the events that took place after getting completely wasted, maybe that was a sign that he needed to slow down. But tonight was about festivities and if he is given permission to drink, he shall drink like a king. She stated she was excited but nervous about the party this evening , which caused Finn's brows to shoot up almost immediately, wondering what was wrong. But when she reassured him that it was just about singing in front of her parents tonight, he let out a little smirk. When she leaned her head on his shoulder, he smiled and placed a kiss on her temple. "Everyone's going to love you Sinny, just pre performance jitters that's all. We are all going to have a good night, god knows we need at least one right?"

Emmet shook his head as Lucy accused him of painting their extended family as circus freaks. "I sure hope not, cause you'd be out of there in a heartbeat at the sight of a clown." He joked. He frowned slightly as Lucy mentioned all the planned made her stressed. "I know, cupcake. You deserve a drink for all the planning you had to go through." He kissed the side of her head. "Why don't you kids get everyone in the car and ready to go, im gonna' go check on your mother." He said to Lucy.

He moved back down the hall to his bedroom, to find Shannon finishing up her final touches on her makeup. "Wow," he said from the doorway, admiring her, "you are stunning. It's no wonder our kids are gorgeous." He walked into the room, wrapping his arms around her waist. He softly kissed her, resting his head against hers. "Excited to be married to an old man?" He asked, before kissing her again.

Lorenzo had came with the rest of the Romano pack, seeing as he resided there for now. It was a good change though, and surprisingly the ice had broken slightly between them all. He was happily candor about his former ventures to his niece and nephew, and it seemed Vinnie had intrest also. Overall, a good few days.

Blending with the crowd, he mingled with a few men, but soon grew bored of the simple way of playing people. But to his bordem’s relief, dinner was fixing to start.

Taking his seat beside Alex, who was currently conversing with Vinnie. He glanced at Nicolo, who was awaiting a girl. Glad to see the Romano family trend still in place. Once his niece had finished, he decided to converse with his newfound family member. “You seem an adventurous type, am I wrong? It’s quite a shame you haven’t been to Tuscany, even your father would have to agree with me on this, but it is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Splendid wine!” Though he preferred scotch or whiskey, wine was good only on occasion.

Aidan had was walking downstairs all the while trying to tighten up his tie. His mother was usually the one in charge of this tie business. Eventually, he just let it go, letting it hand loosely. It wasn't often that the boy got dressed up. He would rather chill out in simple pants and a shirt but of course, this event was going to be a bit formal. It was Uncle Emmett's birthday after all.

He noticed Conor waving him over. Aidan walked over to his cousin, "Hey." he said. He raised an eyebrow as Conor stated that he would be his wingman for the night. "Well, that's fine by me." Aidan voiced with an amused smirk on his lips.

Athena Archer

Athena was excited that Vinnie wanted to get everyone together for a fancy dinner. It had been some time since everyone was together in one place. The girl paid the cabby and entered the Italian restaurant. Thena was sporting a light tan dress with light cyan designs on the front. At the moment she was currently trying her best not to fall in the heels that she was wearing. It had been quite some time since she wore heels. Her hair was still straight but finger waved.

Athena found the table and waved, 'Hello." Athena greeted with a sweet, welcoming smile. She went over to the round table and sat down on the far end. She glanced around, it surely was a fancy place. The sight of a stranger at the table piqued her curiosity. The girl figured that he was a friend of Vinnie's or something along those lines.

The young woman turned her attention to something else when she heard the voice of Leo.
After greeting everyone, she scooted over so he could down next to her. "Thank you." Thena replied quietly. She managed to softly smile. She hasn't seen Leo since that "incident" and she was happy to see him. Her eyes flickered over to the blue-eyed man.

"How have you been?" Athena questioned softly.

James remained silent as Emmet and Lucy interacted each other, he was just taking in the normality of things and trying to adjust himself to it. He nodded his head when Emmet told them to get everyone in the limo whilst he went to check on Shannon. Now those two made a perfect couple if ever there was one and James admired the fact they'd been together so long yet still acted like newlyweds around each other. He wondered if he'd have that with Lucy.

"Are you okay?" he asked Lucy, giving her a hug. "You've done the hard work now, so you can relax and let your hair down," he told her, picking up on how stressful planning the party had been for her.

When he released her from the hug, James looked around the room to the others. "Come on, kids. Time to get going!" he shouted out to them, smirking at Conor as he rolled his eyes at him. He then linked arms with Lucy and walked with her out to the car. James was glad to see the rain had stopped, mostly because he couldn't cope if any of the ladies started complaining about getting their hair wet.

Sinead grinned as Finn defended his drunken self. "Maybe not complete toddlers. But you sure do get in some states, mister," she told him. "You enjoy yourself, Finn. Don't mind me," she reassured him. She smiled to herself as Finn reassured her that everyone would love her performance. "Thank you. Hopefully I'll be fine. I can't let Daidi down," she noted. "Once I've done it, I'll be joining you with drinks and fun too," she told him, though she was more trying to convince herself.

When James and Lucy told everyone to get in the car, Sinead rolled her eyes. "Those two are so bossy. So oooold," she playfully whispered, knowing how much saying that annoys James and Lucy.

Shannon had just finished perfecting her makeup when she heard Emmet's voice. She turned to see him standing in the doorway. She grinned when he complimented her and their good looking kids. "I'd say that was a joint effort, Mr. Sullivan," she assured him. She mirrored his embrace, resting her hands on his lower back. She closed her eyes as they kissed and he rested his head against hers, taking advantage of the rare moments alone together. "I'm just as excited as when you were a young man," she told him. When he kissed her again, she almost wanted to suggest skipping the party and having the house to themselves, but she knew this was his night to celebrate. "It's been so good having you back here. The place wasn't the same without old man Sullivan knocking about the place," she teased.

When Aidan agreed to him being his wingman, Conor feigned proud tears. "You don't know how that makes me feel, being able to help my little cousin find a girlfriend. You just leave it to me," he said, nudging the lad. When James called out for them to get in the car, Conor rolled his eyes. "Looks like we've been summoned by General Porter," he joked. "Come on," he told Aidan.
