Poetry The mutual decay of lovers

GreedyBoy

Mind the gap.
decay my love.

decay with me.

your beautiful white dress is so bright against the damp grass.

how it remains so pure among the dirt i will never know.

you are too pure for this world.

now you are no longer in it.

next to you i look pitiful.

dark red waistcoat and white shirt.

my skin is so pale one cannot tell where fabric ends and skin begins. then again i never was the rosy cheeked type.

you were.

now you look like me.

you’re so peaceful.

your eyes closed, a soft smile upon your face. frozen in bliss like a statue.

the moon caresses your face with her light.

our fingers are intertwined.

by now our fingers have fused together as we’ve been here for around a week or so.

i wouldn’t have it any other way.
i can feel the bugs.

i would bat them away but you hate me killing bugs.

you told me that they have as much life as us.

each and every ant and spider.

so i don’t.

i do as you tell me.

i could just get up.

nothing hurts as i’m already dead.

i have been for a while.

but you’re dead too now except i didn’t sink my teeth into your neck in time and now,

now you’ll never get up.

now i’ll never be able to glide with you on the ballroom floor, not caring for the sneers thrown by others. the whispers of the vampire prince.

so i’ll lay here.

lay here and decay with you evermore.

because you are my love and i’ll never leave you.

i don’t know what happens after death.

i’ll never know.

you do though.

what’s it like, my love?

you don’t answer.

this was inspired by a picture i saw online but for the love of fuck i cant find it anywhere.
