Oh, regarding the meta-fiction thing.
When I read the GM's interest check a while ago, it reminded me of the movie, Seven.
(Which I did not actually watch. I am just vaguely familiar with the plot.)
So, that's why I suggested a connection to Dante's Inferno. If that's what the GM was going for.
If not, my mistake.
Although, if you want to make the Dante's Inferno connection. You are welcome to.

I was actually not thinking about Seven! My initial interest checks thread contained a very brief prompt. When I realised people were actually interested in the roleplay idea, I started adding more detail onto it and just building the story as I went along. That’s part of the reason why it took longer to start up since I was unsure if it would even take off!

I figured the part where the killer places a token which foreshadows the next victim seemed familiar. Then it hit me Criminal Minds, Foyet/The Reaper.

However, I’m 100% sure there’s a book out there which reflects this element where the calling card is a token item belonging or relating to the next victim. Like The ABC Murders, or the novelisation of Seven (as Dreamer99 mentioned). I’m also perfectly fine with Ronan picking one which he’s drawn to based on his interests if we struggle to decide.

We could even create a fictional book for the sake of this element being applied to the roleplay! As a last resort, of course, if we all can’t decide on a book or disagree with a book being used.

However, I do like Dreamer99 ‘s suggestion of Dante’s Inferno and find it the most fitting.

Thank you! I’m doing well. I’ve just been rushed off my feet because May is the month where everyone and their mother is either getting married, or turning a year older. I also have a flower festival to attend throughout the weekend. So, I’ve been trying to complete preparations for all celebrations outside of work!

I get that. I do think it would work better if somebody else responded before Paige arrives so we can see who we're working with in the scene.

Also, Dreamer99 you have NOT been forgotten! I'm wondering how we can integrate Virginia into the earlier scenes of the roleplay before she gets more involved and we're opened up to more interactions.

I'd also be open to Luca and Virginia interacting outside of classes (despite him not being her favourite person), seeing as going to a class he isn't interested in, post-boss' death seems unnatural. However, I'd like to ask if she's the type to be spotted around town, running errands? Or does she usually hide out in her home until the next school day rolls around? I don't want to suggest anything that would be out of character for her!

As mentioned in her intro scene, Virginia usually spends her afternoons doing random stuff like volunteering around town.
She also has a somewhat long mid-day break.
So, if there's anywhere that Luca or other people might be, there's a chance that Virginia might be there.
A small random chance, granted, but which I can make work through story magic.
As for who would actually be Virginia's "friend" in town, I'm not sure.
So far, the most likely candidates would be more educated folks, seniors (elders)...
Maybe she would know someone from the historical society.
She might also be acquaintances with people from ethnic minority groups like you mentioned in the town lore;
However, I'm not sure if there would be any common interests.
Having some NPCs would give more options, though.
If anyone wants to try a scene from before the murders happened, I could try that, also.
If you have an ideas, let me know.

Speaking of NPCs, feel free to utilise the townspeople from the lore to fuel your posts!
Or other characters which have not been mentioned in the lore, e.g. Marissa from Your Second Cup.

Sure! I completely agree that we need another person. I’ve actually kept the recruitment thread open but I haven’t bumped it up in a while. So let me go and do that now!

I actually love this roleplay idea now that it’s (kind of) gotten off its feet, so I’ll do my best to find an additional person!

But to also cut the search short - if anybody knows someone who would be interested or is looking for a group roleplay, please let me know!

Sorry for the delay, I ended up cutting out all of the rowing practice but I will have him recall some snippets as to not let it go to waste.

Dan/Daniel/Danielle is a teammate on the rowing team and they share a few classes. Either going to be a more fleshed out npc or another player option if anyone is inclined.

The apple is red (and the skin is now bruised) from a tree in their backyard. Just throwing that in there in case of symbolism or a memory or such if Dreamer wants to use it.

I'm completely ok with the rest of the gang starting gathered rp I can just have Ronan follow up and have the timeline run a little paralell since I don't want to hold people up too much.

Dreamer99 if haven't given enough to work with let me know.

I was thinking we could wait for justine1996 's character to integrate into the scene at hand before we do a time skip. I think this gives time for everyone's characters to interact more too. Also, if you'd like a brief summary of what's gone on (as opposed to reading everyone's posts), please let us know so we can catch you up to speed!

I think for now, where Luca and Paige are concerned, it would be best if Luca informs Paige of what happened at Your Second Cup, and Paige has her opportunity to digest and react to the news. Although, I don't intend on Luca continuously going back and forth, isolating other characters from the scene.

Unless, Sonderlandt and Dreamer99 would like more time for their characters to mingle and build on their dynamic?

To follow up, I remember that this was the initial plan:

As we planned a skip, perhaps we could do it after Ronan's exit (or if he decides to tag along), and skip to the end of Paige and Luca's day when she's all filled in and they've spent the day together, lounging in the cafe till close. Then Luca could meet Carolina and leave Paige to stay/meet up with Ronan.

However, I just wanted a quick regroup to ask for your opinions as we have an additional person joining us now!
