Before the Embrace, Grinner was a self-absorbed, vain, though extremely charming man by the name of Dietrich Dürer, stage name Dietrich, full one not revealed even on social media, let alone - in the interviews. He was a German rocker, centred on his music, partying, women and such, of quite good looks and a lot of misplaced energy: drink all day, party all night; wear the best brands, visit the gym to keep all toned and sexy - a teenager dream, basically. The band he was involved with was getting bigger and more popular, contracts were signed, tours were made.
He was embraced during the US tour somewhere in California by the local Camarilla's primogen whose initial idea for the man was a wicked joke. Take a handsome, popular, vain young man, and strip him off everything, take away his life, and make a monster to suffer for the whole eternity. That, however... well, it didn't happen. Whether his rowdiness took another form in a monstrous body, or something snapped in the man when he looked in the mirror, is up for debate. Main thing is, while the Sire tried to make a Cleopatra out of him, he created a Leatherface. Dietrich turned into a monster... and he loved it.
You are a monster now - act like one. "It's not like you have to kill and miam for pleasure, set babies on fire and crush kin's fragile little skulls - though you won't get any judgemental looks from me if you do. But, come ON! Stop pretending you're human. You never cared about chicken as a mortal, why care about mortals when you're a monster?"
