Fantasy The Light of Hope- Vol 1.The Tyrants Rise

Blazingsword23

The sword which blazes
In a mystical world called Agoria, kingdoms have risen amd fallen for millions of years. Every manner of magical being imaginable wanders this world without end. For millenia the world has been ruled by the Seven Cardinal gods. Pyrus god of flames and passion. Unai goddess of water and ingenuity. Gridix god of earth and Wisdom. Esther goddess of wind and freedom. Balthazar god of lightning and battle. And the twins Ying and Yang gods of creation and destruction. Yet recently something terrible has begun. Communication between the gods kingdoms has been broken, the lesser god Idris who serves as the messenger between them has been found dead, his rainbow chariot missing. This is unprecidented, for never before has a god died. With communications down between them, suspicions rise. Only one could tell them, and so they sought the god of sight, Heindrel. Only to find she to had been killed and her eyes removed. Suspicions rise even further, the gods seperate their nations and brace themselves for what is sure to be a war. The question is amidst all of this chaos, who are you?

(hello friends, this rp is an action packed fantasy story that takes place in the world of agoria. This world has yet to be fully explored, and is belived to be infinite. Every creature you can imagine exists in this world. But the most powerful are the gods, and by a very large margin. Which would explain why the world is in a panic. News has spread about the death of the lesser gods Idris and Heindrel and each god blames the other as most all beings agree only a god could kill a god.)
(in this rp you are playing the role of a denizen of agoria, you can be any kind if creature, even a god. However you must pm me ahead of time if you wish to claim one of the seven cardinal gods who rule the world. Lesser gods are excepted but are not able to be as powerful as the cardianals. While being a god has its perks, such as immense power, and reverence of the other creatures it does come with a pretty severe downside. You will be a target for whatever seems to be killing the gods. As far as power goes even the most powerful of gods are around mountain level [meaning the most they can destroy in one shot is a mountain] anything more powerful than that is not gonna be accepted. Lastly there are three rules as far as power building goes. No omnipotence, No Taking another Characters free will, and No manipulation of another characters body/powers/mind. This is to ensure everyone enjoys a good story without someone else dictating what the can and cannot do. Enjoy everyone :) )

Name: Pelor
Age: ???
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Pansexual
Race: Lesser God
Domain: Hope
Faction: City of Ashe
Personality: As his domain would suggest Pelor is an eternal optimist. He never seems to give up and his hope seems to carry on to others. He believes that though there are dark clouds that every one has a silver lining. There have been many times in his existence when he has found himself questioning his motives, but the hopes and faith of others have kept him moving forward eternally.
Bio: Long ago mortals declared war on the gods, in reaction to the wrath of Aldus God of the sky and king of the old pantheon. As a result Aldus unleashed his son Balthazar upon the people, and imprisioned Esther for giving mortals the idea of freedom. Yet esther used the god idris to send messages of freedom an hope. The goddesses hope formed the God pelor, and the peoples hope fueled him. The newly flrmed pelor attacked and dethroned Aldus, releasing esther. Balthazar returned to destroy the new god, but both Pyrus and Esther inteviened and Pelor was taken to to the city of the fire god, Ashe.

Standing at 6'5" with broad shoulders and muscular stature, the god of the Earth is both strong in arm, as he is in mind. A firm, bearded jaw underlies two sharp, mossy green eyes, whilst framed with a mane of thick, black hair down to his shoulders. Chiselled, handsome cheekbones only accentuate the sincerity of his resting expression - one which so often falls to deserved laughter; as loud and pleasant as thunder. Large hands, calloused by caressing rocks and trees to show men how they might use the earth, and thus how to repair it. Father to the Land, in his care. Lord of the Forests. King to Beasts - for he was the shepherd who kept the lambs safe, and he was the lion who tore them apart.

His form changes, from a man with completely white eyes and antlers, to the current appearance he retains. Although the former depiction usually is noted during his call on the Wild Hunt. Thus the depictions of him vary.

Name:
Gridix

Age:
N/A

Gender:
Male

Sexuality:
Heterosexual (Straight)

Race:
Cardinal

Domain:
Earth and Wisdom

Faction:
His own?

Personality:
Gridix is a force to be reckoned with. Stubborn as the mountains who refuse to bend, and as vibrant as the green of the land. Although he retains a state of tranquillity, one may soon realise that to test his patience is a frightening task. Known for an explosive temper, and hearty laughter, the Earth God is kind but stern in his manner. Sharing a love for all things living, yet almost apathetic to death of which he sees as a continuous and necessary cycle of nature.

First and foremost a listener, Gridix embodies the characteristics of his domain being a reliable and knowledgeable friend to any of those who may need him. Known for fertility (an accompanying aspect of Earth), Gridix blesses healthy harvests and newly-wed couples within his Kingdom, which as one of the Earth, booms in agriculture and tough but caring denizens who follow role of their immortal ruler. Nonetheless, Gridix is well known for putting people first and their needs, which makes him less aristocratic and more akin to an elevated chieftain who attends and aids the needs of the many before addressing those of the few.

Not much of a talker, he prefers to get his head down and get the job done. Earning him a reputation of a hardworking man, and both a bull-headed idiot on the occasion. Commanding about him an impressive presence of dominance over situations and exuding a deep and unspoken wisdom as he's widely known for.

On another note, Gridix is surprisingly humorous and appreciates good comedy. While being an incredibly masculine figure, women in the Kingdom appear undaunted - for as much as the fatherly figure remains a staple, so has the depiction of mothers beside it. Welcoming every and all, Gridix has been known to turn away none good of heart.

Bio:
He came into existence with the Earth and has been there since as it's guardian and caretaker. At first, wild and untamed the god was primal - but as the first men appeared, he grew to adopt them and their ways. From agriculture to hunting, he showed them what he knew, gifting the very foundations of civilisation and society. Although disconnected and uninterested with the pantheon of Gods, preferring to keep to himself it was only after the old pantheon was dead he began to associate himself with his fellow divine brethren.

With no real desire for more power, Gridix has always been far more content and quiet concerning the meetings among them. But - when he did lift his voice, it was heard. Alas, with the murder of Idris and Heindrel, the god of Earth has been uneasy among the rest of them. Attempting to calm the relations between the Gods. Especially when he refuses to go to war unless necessary, Gridix is a strong ally, but a hard one to persuade. Despising spilling blood. Thus, he's actually planning to isolate his Kingdom as neutral if the rest of the Gods go to war (unless convinced otherwise). As much as he wants to find the murderer who has set a cat among the birds, the God has always been on the side of the Earth and mortals, not the divines. Some call him weak, others a traitor, but as a father does for his children; he will protect them at any cost.

Likes:
- The rising sun, always getting up at dawn to admire the view which never seems to lose its beauty in his eyes.
- Celebrations! His kingdom is oft known for celebrating the solstices, and anything worth getting together for. Weddings typically last two to three weeks.
- Children, and humans in general, he has a fatherly demeanour where they're concerned and dislikes to see them hurt in war or otherwise. Thus his lands are one of the most peaceful.
- Drinking; can't say anything more than Gridix can hold his drink like a champion. Although it might have something to do with being godly.
- Growth. Of both people and plants, he appears to adore watching things flourish.
- Animals, the beasts who taught humanity by the image in their characteristics. Every part of them is used when hunted, and Gridix has a particular soft spot for them. Thus they are treated with respect in death and life.

Dislikes:
- Ignorance; those who do not listen to wisdom are doomed to die by stupidity. He has no tolerance for those who cannot open themselves to opinion or advice - even plain fact.
- Sloth; everyone should pull their weight, and he can't stand to see idle hands. Hard work is the only work.
- Waste and aristocracy. Nothing is wasted in Gridix's land, or so he instils in his citizens. Passing good deeds downwards is practically a biblical commandment. Nor does he appreciate extreme wealth with the work of others breaking their backs. Thus one may find him to be extremely pro the common man and woman.
- Unnecessary killing; such as war and murder. Murderers are executed immediately, with personal judgement from himself. His people are mostly pacifists due to him, but you wouldn't want to get into a brawl with one. He lays down rules with an iron fist, and for the right reasons, nobody gets away scot-free.

Powers:
[Base powers of a Cardinal God]
- Blessing of Fertility: Upon either the green Earth, newly-weds, and 'barren' women. Due to this, many see Gridix as a father of sorts in his depictions.
- Manipulating Earth: From rocks to trees, to the quaking trembles of anger, he holds a sway over nature unlike any other.
- Calling upon the Wild Hunt: A collection of beasts and spirits of past hunters, as well as beings of the Earth. It's an extraordinary thing to see. Once a year, on the Winter Solstice, Gridix calls upon this Wild Hunt and can be seen cleansing the land for Spring of dark beings and doings - warding off evil spirits. This is known as a celebration and cultural occasion.
- Gridix's Spear: Can cause earthquakes, and kill divine or dark beings. Made of an obsidian blade and sturdy oak shaft.

Other:
- Although never married or engaged with any other Gods, it's quite possible he's the father of a handful of half-mortal children. The result of summer romances and celebrations out of hand. Nevertheless, he cares for these children by supplying necessities and watching over them especially. He dislikes being invasive on their lives if their mother has married, and they've accepted another father. Although, he personally acknowledges children of his put up for adoption or otherwise and will offer them a place in his home. This has happened on more than one occasion, although as half-mortal, they don't possess immortality. Thus his sons and daughters who were legitimately recognised are currently deceased.
- A strong belief in reincarnation has never let him down, and even at the death of family or old lovers, he's never been known to cry.

An excellent cardinal god, i look forward to seeing him finished, :)

Very interesting. Blazingsword23 Blazingsword23 are we allowed to create new minor gods?
Indeed feel free to create lesser gods of any kind.

Damn this looks fun. Count me in! Will probably be making a minor god if that is alright.
And you are more than welcome, once we have six characters ill post the main threads :)

Likes: Humanity, sunrise, new births, courage, those with honor, those who are kind at heart.
Dislikes: Cruelty, Sunset, Rainy days, wealth, and most pious gods.
Powers:
Powered by hope: like all gods Pelor posseses great strength, speed, endurance, vitality, and self healing abilities. Unlike most gods however pelor is fueled by this hope, causing all of these attributes to increase with the quantity of hope in the world.

Light of Hope- the power of hope is its contagiousness. Pelors very presence inspires hope and fuels his other powers. The hope of humans is strong, but the hope of gods, is what his weapons and armors are.

Myrmadon- the sword of pelor, and once the blade of the ruling godking aldus. The blade itself is indestructible, and it gains power from his domain. He can fire large arcs of golden energy which can cleave most things in twine.

Other: Despite being a lesser god pelors power fluctuates, at times his might can rival cardianals, whereas other times he is little more than a man. It all depends on who has hope.

Faceclaim: God form
Axious lord of Judgement.jpg

Human form:
Axious. 3.png

Name:
Axious

Age:
N/A

Gender:
Male

Sexuality:
Heterosexual

Race:
Lesser God

Domain:
Judgement

Faction:
Ying and Yang

Personality:
Axious's personality is more of a lack of personality. For the most part he watches over the realms of the world with an unbiased gaze. When the dead come to him for judgement he ways there heart according to the values, traditions, etc of the culture they come from and then makes his judgement. Although it doesn't happen often Axious will be hit by a wave of human emotions, many longing, lust, sadness, joy, and hope. When this happens he will turn into his human form and live among the humans of the twin kingdoms for an unspecified amount of time, leaving his duties as judge to his two godly children the god of mercy and goddess of suffering. There in the human world he will fall in love, marry, and have a family until his emotions fade after a random period of time (Could be a few years or even decades) and he returns to his duty as lord of Judgement.

Bio:
Axious's origins are unknown even to the oldest of the gods but it is believed that he was created after the first mortal had died. Seeing no issue with his role of judging the dead the old pantheon allowed his continued existence, after all it made their job of dealing with the dead easier. Even after the old pantheon fell and the new one rose Axious stayed the lord of Judgment, if anything he gained even more powerful from the transition to the new pantheon. His name spread across the realms and he was recognized as an important figure all across the world, not as important as the cardinal gods but still important.

Eventually Axious found he needed help with his job as judge for his complete lack of bias tended to lean towards harsher sentences for even those who deserved more mercy. Seeking a way to fix this Axious began his search for someone to Rule at his side, and there he found the goddess of justice. The two married and the goddess of justice would bare two of Axious's children, The god of Mercy and Goddess of Suffering. Having three deities to help him judge the never ending number of dead took a load off of Axious's back and his marriage to Justice changed him. He began to occasionally feel emotions, emotions which disrupted his work. To be rid of these emotions he would take human form in the Realm of the twin gods and live as a human for a random amount of time. He would marry, have children, and act as a normal human until his emotions faded and he could return to his duty.

Likes:
Judgeing the souls of the dead and observing the world of the living

Dislikes:
Human emotion

Powers:
Murder's cage: Axious's sword known as murder's cage is where the souls of murders spend their eternity. The voices of uncountable number of souls trapped in the blade can be heard as faint whispers when ever your in the prescience of Axious. The constant whispers have a habit of disheartening any who come in contact with it in battle.

Lord of Judgment: Those in the presence of Axious feel a constant wave of self consciousness causing them to either become more defensive, doubtful, or paranoid depending on their personalities. Even the gods aren't immune to this (The only exceptions being Justice, Mercy, and Suffering)

Other:
I took up the roles of Goddess of Justice, Goddess of Sufering, and God of Mercy. If anyone wants to play either of those gods let me know and we can work to make that happen.
