The Legion! A Star Wars Story

Onderon was known for producing a terrorist. Terrorists you should correct. The terrorist who fought futilely against the Empire's tyrannical rule, Saw Gerrera, then that man who the New Republic would label terrorist, war criminal and tyrant after the fact. That man, Tiberius Rex, Commander Tiberius Rex. The man who was shown in the flicks of the Empire as the very pinnacle of a Stormtrooper, the one who made the motto of the Fifth Legion, KTF, Kill Them First. A veteran of the Clone Wars fought for the freedom of his homeworld of Onderon alongside the Clones and Republic, who would go to the Empire after it supplanted the failing Repub'.

His Fifth Legion, during the time of the Empire it would come to be known under the nickname The Legion. Because there was every other legion of stormtroopers, then there was The Legion. You would remember that. The Legion, who at the time of first combat fought at only a hundred strong against a full Mandalorian Phalanx and held the line for days before they were relieved from other legions. Tiberius Rex was a brutal commander who made sure his men were well the best in the entire core. He had tried and failed to make his standard, the standard of the entire Empire. Each man capable of killing a hundred men, or ten Mandos when it came down to it. His training course was brutal enough that it brought down his legion of several thousand strong to just a hundred. Those men would go on to be known as the Hundred. The very best The Legion would ever produce. None better than Tiberius' second, Onin Karr, who would go to be his successor and even better.

The Trexl of the Stormtroopers would be deemed soon after his fame as the founder of The Legion would be labelled too extreme for the Empire, labelled War Criminal and locked away in some military complex in the middle of nowhere Wild Space. That event that would end with the arrest of Tiberius was the Trandosha Campaign. Where Tiberius would disobey direct commands and execute his commanding officer and go on the supposed indiscriminate slaughter across the entire planet. Even though that wasn't what happened. The Empire would spin it that way after the fact. That they had tried to stop him and he got out of control and took his Legion to slaughter the innocent Trandoshans. No, just forget the fact that every engagement was started by some tribe deciding they would try their own hand at a small rebellion against the Empire. Met by a harsh put down there and then by Tiberius Rex, who acted to save his men while his commander was sat safely up in his Star Destroyer. Only coming down when he decided to take direct control from Tiberius Rex when he, "Got out of hand". Only then, when there was clear incompetence in the command of his superior did Tiberius execute him. A single shot to the middle of his chest. Resisting temporary arrest to await trial.

It would be the politics of the Empire that would see that Tiberius would be sent away to be locked up and forgotten to time. His second, Onin Karr would take command of The Legion. Every bit his successor. With the added bonus of having that political mind to navigate the bureaucratic mess that was the Empire's Military Complex. Though as time would go on, no amount of smart power moves would keep him safe either. Eventually, he would grow fed up with sucking up to command. One by one, starting with Onin Karr the Hundred would leave the Stormtrooper Core. All becoming bounty hunters in the Outer Rim. Founding a sort of guild, outside the Bounty Hunter's Guild. Coming to be known as the Copper Guild. For their, at the time universal copper coloured armour. Though as time would go on, they would be known as something else. The Boogiemen of the Outer Rim. Just as efficient as they were in the Empire. Snatch and grabs, mass terminations and all sorts of black ops shit. If you were in the know, then you would know the Copper Guild as something else. Imperial Dark Operations. Unofficially connected to a circle in the Stormtrooper Core. A way to get by all the politics of the Empire that sought to the dishonourable discharge of so many good men. Who only did the right thing.

They would have a sort of rivalry with ISD, they would only ever have a suspicion about the Copper Guild being something more than the surface. They would never reach deeper than that suspicion. It was only ever conflicts of crossing the same marks. Dark Ops would come to consider ISD nothing more than half measures. That they should replace them. They would never replace the ISD for the Empire. But they would in a sense be better off after the Empire. When it fell there was an Imperial Cell that pledged loyalty to the Dark Operations Commander, Onin Karr. His rule would be short-lived, but something truly terrifying for the New Repub'. If only they knew to thank the old bounty hunter, the Trexl for the termination of General Onin Karr, creator of the Legionnaires. Though those are stories for another time.

The Boogiemen of the Outer Rim. A Star Wars Story

Imperial Dark Operations, for when things need to be done and done right the first time without anyone knowing. The organization's head, Commander Onin Karr previously of the Fifth Legion of Stormtroopers founded his own mini guild within the confines of the Empire's own Bounty Hunter Guild. The Copper Guild, for their early day bronze coloured alloy steel armour they often wore and came to be known by, the alloy was dubbed permasteel, lighter weight and better diffuser of blaster bolts than durasteel, though it was not that strong in anything else save for being corrosion resistant.

Onin Karr made his name in the Stormtrooper Core as The Legionnaire. Personally leading his troops of the Fifth Legion into battle yelling the Hundred's war cry of, "KTF!" as he would do so. He would go to be a sort of icon for the Fifth Legion, even more so than his predecessor Tiberius Rex, the Trexl of the Core. His name would come up early on as one of the Hundred who would hold off against a Mandalorian Phalanx, taking the squad on a suicide mission to cut off a flanking unit of Mandos and coming back successful. His name would further be cemented in a legend on a later mission. ISD had informed him of an operation that needed to be done. As soon as possible. Organizing a whole Legion against a threat would've been too slow to stop what was already in action. An early day Rebel cell would get their hands on an old CIS Frigate. Tiberius had gone to Karr to organize a squad, he would take with him twelve of the remaining Hundred on a mission to capture a heavily armed CIS Frigate with hostile Rebel Cell units on the inside. His name of The Legionnaire would come from this mission. As he would tell people that's just what The Legion did.

The mission would end up a disaster from the beginning. His squad would end up being pinned down in a hanger bay, with only Karr ending up being able to push through to the inner halls. He would push on, determined to complete the mission he was assigned. Sneaking past and subduing squadrons of Rebels by himself all the way to the bridge of the vessel. Where he would hold hostage the entire bridge crew and kill them off one by one until someone ordered the official surrender of the vessel to Captain Onin Karr of the Fifth Legion. He would go on to brush off this achievement as if it was nothing. Just doing his duty as a Stormtrooper.

Onin Karr after the arrest and discharge of his commander Tiberius would end up promoted to the Commander of the Fifth Legion. Though he wouldn't stick around long after. He quickly grew sick of the bureaucracy of the Imperial Navy. Campaigns that would be suddenly halted for some stupid reason. Half-done jobs of hunting Rebel Cells before reassignment to another outpost to assist in dealing with some other minor squabble of locals forces. Those jobs don't get done either. Then he gets blamed for the failings of his own command who refuse to take responsibility for their own stupid decisions. Eventually, he decided his term was up and left. Honourably discharged with colours from the Imperial Navy. He would take those who left with him out to the outer rim. Explaining to him his plan. His conversations with a General in the Imperial Army. Act a separate entity out at the rim. Cleaning up messes left half done. Or dealing with the messes before they are that. Some other less savoury things as well. A black ops. He would form the Imperial Dark Operations core, its first members being made up of the Trexl's Hundred.

The Copper Guild would go on to gain infamy in the outer rim, more so after their armour was upgraded from their permasteel plates. Someone would equip them with better gear as the Galactic Civil War would pick up in full force. Some old infantryman who got discharged from the army. A tech wiz they would come to call Tech-Boy. They would get better armour in something called the Legionnaire Mk1. Made up of a new steel alloy Tech-Boy called impervasteel. Heavy stuff that did a better job at protecting you than the permasteel or even better than durasteel. Tech-Boy would say "it's almost like Mandalorian beskar". Though everyone knew it wasn't nearly as good as that miracle metal. But second-best was still great. It was then they would go on to be known as the Boogiemen of the Outer Rim. Named for the alloys pitch-black colour and sheen. Like boogiemen under the bed or in the closet. They would come and then disappear just like them too. Nabbing men and women in the night without a sound, or leaving an entire outpost barren of life if things did get loud.

Tech-Boy would equip the Boogiemen with helmets full of all sorts of useful tech. Several light spectrums to look through for tracking and night vision, soundproofing the user once the helmet was on so only you could hear what was said through coms. Have a full-on conversation with someone in the next room without the guy standing in front of you hearing a single thing unless the Dark Operative turned on the external speakers to speak in that ghostly sound that came from their speaker. There was also a ping they could use for better cohesion of a unit. Marking targets they would take without saying a thing. Gaining that reputation for having bot-like efficiency.

Dark Ops would reach its end at the battle of Onderon 7bby. When the Imperial Remnant, The Legion would get its second wind from the Dark Ops last operation. Taking down a whole New Repub' Fleet by themselves. Activating a secret superweapon General Onin Karr had commissioned Tech-Boy to make. Code name, "Trigger Nuke". A small device that sent out a pulse that caused the critical point of hydrogen atoms in the air across an entire atmosphere. Be that ship or planet. The last of the Dark Operatives would be killed in the activating of the trigger nuke on a Star Hawk over Onderon, resulting in a mini-star forming above the orbit of the planet, destroying the New Republican Fleet coming in. Lighting up the night for the Legionnaires down below who would go on to win the campaign on Onderon. Though the victory there would be short-lived, as the last Dark Operator and General of the Legion would fall in the coming months by his old mentor's hand. Tiberius Rex would win a draw against Onin Karr, ending the man's life, with it any chance the Imperial Remnant he controlled had at defeating the New Repub'.

Trexl, a Star Wars Story

The nickname, Trexl. It was an uncreative play on the name of the Onderonian winged beast Drexl. Supposed to be a compliment, but Tiberius never liked the name. He had a bad history with the warbeast riders of Onderon. Nothing but scumbags and raiders that whole lot. Not that Tiberius Rex would ever correct them or tell anyone about his history. Nothing more than he was Onderonian and was a Stormtrooper. No stroking his own ego, that's all he was. A Stormtrooper from Onderon. That Trexl name would be a compliment of his skill and ferocity in his command. An insult if said by the New Repub', a savage commander who had no thought for innocent lives. Who ordered an indiscriminate slaughter of a civilian populace. Even though that wasn't what happened. He would never lose the history of those days in the Empire. When he was little better the first Legion, Vader's Fist. The Fifth Legion, his idea for the Stormtroopers was to make the very best. His experiment would never reach beyond the Fifth Legion than the Hundred he trained or the ten thousand that came later. Trying to clone himself, the Clone Wars Vet who saw the worst the galaxy had to offer.

His time in the Empire was short-lived, he was arrested and sent to wild space. Imprisoned in some unknown Imperial Prison where he worked as a miner collecting doonium from the mines for near fifteen years before the New Repub' would discover the operation and spring him. The Repub' Officer in charge of the Shock Troopers that had raided the prison had offered him a place among the New Repub' Navy. "We could use a mind like yours," they said. Tiberius refused. As much as the Empire ostracized him, he did have a firm belief that the Empire was the only way to keep the peace across the whole of the galaxy. The way the New Repub' was going, it wasn't going to last. They had a fear of being like the Empire. That fear was going to make them weak. Tiberius could see that plain as day. Plus, Tiberius was loyal.

He would stay in Wild Space, picking up work as a bounty hunter out there. Seeing as the New Repub' decided that they didn't need to police everywhere. The policing was left in the hands of people like him, bounty hunters. The Trexl would make his name out there. Being one of the very best. Equipping himself early on in a durasteel suit, protecting himself from the stay blaster bolts that had taken so many lives in the wars he saw. His discipline had him keep the armour and bucket on most of the time. Most wouldn't get to know the face of the Trexl. Knowing only the Mandalorian style helmet that was more plates riveted together than the elegant and patiently hammered beskar buckets of the Mandalorians. That and also the black-market bought modified Imperial VT-49. Unmistakably imperial. Rubbed the New Repub' officials that were around wrong. But he never went and shot up a Repub' base. So they left it at that. Until he refused the wrong official...

The Trexl would become one of the most wanted men in the galaxy. After a New Repub' official dug up his old track record and labelled him the exact same thing the Empire did. Tyrant, war criminal, murderer. Dug it all up because Tiberius Rex, going by Tyren Echs now decided to refuse a contract from this corrupt official. Tyren wouldn't pretend his hands were clean of sin, but there's a difference between doing what was necessary and killing some political rival who has a different opinion from you. So in one day, Tyren Echs went from just a bounty hunter in the outer rim to one of the most wanted men in the galaxy. Because technically he was a wanted Imperial Commander. Put short, the New Repub' would never catch Tyren Echs. He would stay ahead of them the whole way. His bounty hunter guild would also protect him, unofficially. Because he was a law bringer out there. One of the best at that. So none in the guild could go after him without being excommunicated from the guild.

Tyren had stayed out of what was happening with the Imperial Remnants, he would prefer to stay out of it all, until Onderon that is. When General Onin Karr pulled off the impossible. Won against the New Republic Navy with a single Star Destroyer and a single legion of Stormtroopers and those new fancy Legionnaires who were clad in durasteel. General Onin Karr won a ten to one battle, odds stacked against him he won. A complete victory. Tyren knew the kid, the General, Karr was his second when he was a commander in the Empire. Every bit his equal then, every bit his better now. There was a choice to be made then. After Onderon was captured by the Legion. Join up with the Legion or put a stop to it. It never crossed the mind of Tyren to join the Legion. It wasn't a choice for anyone in their right mind like Tyren. Onin Karr had the ability to actually win against the New Repub' he was that good of a commander. But that was the problem. The New Repub was large. They were small. It would be a bloody war, worse than the Clone Wars that was bloody for only having Clones and Droids in it. The Legion and the New Republic were made up of men. Countless millions would die in a conflict Tyren was predicting. So Tyren had travelled back to Onderon after that miracle victory over the planet. He killed General Onin Karr and was in turn killed by his Legionnaires. The Legion would fade out soon after. A bloody and terrifying footnote in history. Remaining only as that until two hundred years later, when a Warlord would emulate Tiberius Rex and Onin Karr's work of the best of the best.

I don't mean to offend by asking this, but I am sincerely asking, are you a non-native English speaker? While there is some cool, genuinely remarkable creativity on display here, the sentence structure in almost every sentence is really hard to get through.

For example, "His Fifth Legion, during the time of the Empire it would come to be known under the nickname The Legion. Because there was every other legion of stormtroopers, then there was The Legion. You would remember that."

I can only understand what this means through context because it's very unclear what verbs are being used with what nouns. Many sentences are incomplete, either lacking a subject or a predicate, and it's very confusing. I'd actually quite like to read this, but I can't really because I just can't understand it.

I was only writing this down to write it down. I have no doubt in my mind that there were mistakes in there, I was just letting my fingers go over the keys, I put periods on any pause I have in my thoughts and sometimes I don't catch that at the time. I could clean it up, but it's like the title says. It is an incomplete thought, something that was in there and was probably never going to be written down unless I wrote it down there and then before I got bored of it. It was all written up in one go from an ongoing thought and then I pushed post. If I ever got down to actually writing it into a story and not a blurb like this then I would be watching out for my mistakes more closely.
