Crap...These starting numbers for military factories look like crap for the non-nationalized countries...Idk whether we should take into account economic nationalization or if we should leave that for players that are up for the challenge

The problem is that nationalization only affects civilian factories. The militaristic ones still get the advantage of the massive military factories at the start. 


But hey! Im up for the challenge and I'll say right now that HOI IV starting numbers is what we'll go with. If anyone objects, please let me know!


also, because it would be pointless to have naval shipyards if production times weren't decreased, I made a slight edit to the system so that it doesn't take four years to make a dreadnought.

Hey , so i've played hoi4 before but i never really understood the whole factories thing , i know the number you have determines how many guns , tanks armaments you can produce but surely it doesn't mean India has a total of only 17 factories ? so how exactly do we get that number ?

I'm honestly pulling the number from their wiki. We don't have many other options because it's difficult to pull numbers out of thin air. 


14 civilian factories means you can build a military factory every turn or more I think

I like the general idea of having a way to measure someone's manufacturing capabilities, and the HOI4 system does have its merits, but can you give us an idea of how the system is going to work IG? Are differant types of guns going to have different costs in terms of military factories? Are we also going to be implementing the HOI4 resource system? and what about things not present in the game, say I wanted to build a new city in my country to help the homeless population, would that still be using a system of civilian factories?


As for the list we might need to edit it a bit to counter from changes in between WWI and WWII since many countries hadn't industrialized and others have either changed their borders considerably (Russia, Germany, China etc) or outright don't exist (Austria-Hungary, the Ottomans) there's also the issue with ahistorical border changes like Sweden and Finland and the London Conference. If you want to look into it, there's a WWI mod for HOI4 that's pretty good that could be used as a frame of reference.
