intro.
Fear. Love. Loyalty. Influence.
In this world, power is everything. But a natural law is transforming before humankind's eyes: The most evolved species will dominate. There is no shortage of those labeled as "mutants" around the globe. Thus, there are also forces hellbent on preserving the status quo, whether it be by genocide or bigotry. You're labeled a threat even if you're just a sympathizer. No one different from the norm is safe.
In North America, the mutant population is opposed by a group known as the Mutant Neutralization Task Force. The MNTF speaks of fostering a peaceful existence between the "afflicted" and the people who are more "mundane". Of course, this is an act to vilify those with absolutely no control over something as complex as being born. Their propaganda is made up of half-truths painted over with a fresh coat of fear tactics to make those with a mutation look like they are a crisis that needs to be resolved with genetic testing, registration, and neutralization--by any means necessary. Being a step away from genocidal approaches, the group is only held back by international forces, such as NATO and the Geneva Conventions, prohibiting the American Government from adopting any of the more egregious tactics to suppress the mutant evolution and its populace.
Like that will stop them.
At the forefront of the Mutant Resistance is the Cameron Institute of Equal Prosperity and Justice, founded after the 2nd World War to rekindle a sense of camaraderie after the foul militarization and experimentation of mutantkind, along with the atrocities unleashed on humankind. Under the operation of mutants and humans working together, this organization isn't only bound by those who reside within its walls. All sorts of things are taught here, from basic skills and ideologies to control of powers and mastery of physical prowess. The Institute is a network, with bodies and minds all over the globe working to protect those who cannot defend themselves. Powerhouse powers and all those between are welcome to learn and adapt to living in a world that accepts all. And, with the threat of another world war on the horizon, there is little time and resources to deny in the name of hate or indifference. With the motto "Different, Free, and United", their heroics and valor are more than enough to combat the terrors of fear and ignorance.
There is only one question to join: Will you live for the idea of truly being free?

s-class.
(Also called Taturus Level Threats) Individuals can distort their reality in mind-breaking ways. They are the last resort option, completely rare in class and specialization. While it is theoretically possible for some to reach this level by training and experience, it is even more perplexing that some individuals are born this powerful. With a severe lack of weaknesses and an insane advantage of strengths, this class is rare for a valid reason.

alpha/beta class.
Powerhouses that are forces to be reckoned with, these mutants are more likely to exist than the special class, but have the caveat of being less in control of their powers than an S-Class. Their strength is wilder and more improvised, making them dangerous if unchecked. However, with proper training and mental fortitude, these individuals can be assured to maintain their abilities safely.

Delta Class.
These mutants are more harmless than their stronger counterparts. Their abilities can be tamed, making them perfect to support others. However, their mutation is more likely to be visible. This makes them more easily identifiable by the MNTF. Their protection is a priority, for their powers most likely will not protect them for a sustained time.

humans.
Those without mutations are still welcome in the Institute. There is strength in the mundane, with human skill being prized as much as human error. There are skills that only the human experience can teach, and more moments that are accentuated by those bound by the natural.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to dm us. There is a Discord server, so consider that before applying. Do not be afraid of expressing yourself. Be as creative as you can be and do not withhold your ideas. We are always looking for more interest and characters to expand this world.

→ 001.
Make sure you're aware of RpN's rules and guidelines. No one wants to be policed by the Big Guns (just trust me on that).
→ 002.
Please respect the decisions handed down by the GMs. If it was committed or denied, it was within good reason. All decisions are final unless discussed otherwise.
→ 003.
If you feel the need to drop out or put your character on hold, let me know via dm. We can work out an arrangement(seriously, I want to work with you). If all else fails, we can plan out a way for your character to bow out that is satisfactory to you, me, and your fellow players. But, your character submission is a contract of commitment. Honor that.
→ 004.
There will be a vetting process by the GM and their appointed counsel. The sign-up process is different from the norm, and we ask that you only apply intending to be active and complement the story with one of your own. Also, please don't be weird.
