Where realms of fantasy and fun come to meet you...
Come experience the magicks of the
Night Circus!

It was 23 years ago.

You can't run from it anymore.
You'll have to confront it eventually.

The year is 1997, and people from across the middle of the U.S. are driving to the city of Ludick, Ohio. While such amusement centers like Disneyland and Cedar Point attract their own businesses, none are as popular for the American middlefolk as Mobilium Park. The gravity was not lost on the visitors; it's nearly impossible for a brand to be built, especially an amusement park brand, to be built without any prior merchandise or mediums with creative, engaging attractions. While Mobilium does draw from a few public domain properties, its lore is traditionally its own. The Night Circus, a carnival-themed group of performers, travel across the world and ally themselves various kingdoms and cities. Mobilium, in this context, is the centerpoint where each area is themed around one of these magical realms, with the Night Circus at the center. From Japanese folktales to the realm of the Fae, the attractions span a large variety of themes and stories, keeping families coming back every year.

Three teenagers arrive in the late morning of a normal day in September. This day would be known as Mobilium's, both park and business, final day of peace. Three teenagers leave Mobilium scarred, and never return.

The year is
2020. Ludick has decreased in population, going from a bustling tourist city to a small, misty town. Mobilium sits, rotting. There were mentions of trying to re-open it, but the parent company is bankrupt, and no one dares touch the land. The security has slowly dwindled, with close to no personnel on the property for more than five hours a day. Nature has attempted to reclaim the park but has made very little progress.

Those three teenagers from '97 grew up. Somewhere, somehow, something appeared to them. Something that reminded them about that one final day.
And now, they must return, to reckon with the beast that's haunted their lives.

Mobilium sleeps, waiting.

One of my favorite tropes in fiction, especially horror fiction, is The Return. This story idea, for Mobilium Park, borrows heavily from material such as the Haunting of Hill House, Silent Hill, and Stephen King's IT. This is a story in two parts, the first being the final day in 1997, and the return in 2020.
This isn't meant to be incredibly long-term, since it'll be framed like a horror mini-series/movie. It's meant to explore the psyche of the three survivors, and the extranatural phenomena that lives within the bowels of Mobilium Park.

As a warning, due to the nature of the horror genre there may be some darker topics covered. If you are interest, please express anything you're expressly uncomfortable with, and I'll edit the story in any case.
This won't be first come first serve, too! And there won't be any defined roles, as to allow more character freedoms. All the usual RPN Rules apply, and if you show interest, let me know what your favorite horror media is!

On a side note, checkout a southern-horror story called He is Risen, which inspired this format for my idea!
