Lore, History and Myth

Lore:

Originally, there were just the elves, beings almost eternal, living in harmony with the forests and in communion with their Gods. However, at some point in time an elven clan called Hominulan decided to leave these forests and instead explore the world until they found a suitable place to settle. As such, the first cities were formed. Outraged at their insolence for leaving the peaceful forests, the Elven Gods cursed the Hominulan clan and branded them heretics. They excommunicated them and declared that they were no longer to be considered Elvenkind. Thus, Humankind was born, descendants of the Hominulan. They lost most of their longevity as well as their most prominent feature, their pointy ears. These are used by the elves as a sort of antenna to communicate with the Gods, but Humans would not need them now that they were no longer in contact with Them. Without the favor of the Gods and without any sort of divine entity to watch over them, Humans had to fend for themselves and carve their own path to become a long lasting race in the world of Linkous. This is what distinguishes them from all other races, because even though they are not powerful, they developed an immense will to live and fight for what they believe is right. As such, in a fight where a Human is the first to be mortally wounded, he is still the last one to fall.

History:

After being kicked out of Elvenkind by the Gods themselves, Humans engaged in serious warfare with the elves to exert their independence. At first, they were losing immensely, but at the battle of Akurian(which is now the Human Capital) a Hero emerged. Sam Revek, until then just an ordinary soldier, turned the tide of the war. The army's general had recently died in battle and the army was scattered and spiritually broken, but Sam refused to sit idly by and watch as his race was annihilated and so rallied the remaining forces and, whether through an inspirational speech or just by magic, he brought them together and lead them into battle with their spirit revitalized. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the Human army fought bravely with unwavering morale. In sight of their fearless attitude, the elves were forced to retreat to prevent their own army from being destroyed. The battle was won, the first win in years of warfare but certainly not the last. Sam Revek was elected king by the people and so the Kingdom of Asla was born, and with it the Revek dynasty. From then, the Human forces started expanding. Their numbers grew exponentially and after but a few decades they were more powerful than the elves. The elven leaders pleaded for a peace treaty to be signed, so as to preserve their forests.

This is the basis of how the Human race came to be. I'll be working throughout the following days to expand on this!
