Before this, her parents had been loving and cared for Arabelle very well. That's why when food got short her parents went without, so she could eat. Eventually, they got sick due to their lack of eating, and after that, they were bed-ridden until they passed. Her parents had been rangers themselves until her mother got pregnant, so when a close ranger friend of her dad's heard of the orphaned child of his close friend he came and got Arabelle and raised her as his own, out on the road as a Ranger. This is were Arabelle learned to fight, track, and most importantly it's where she grew up. She had a mouth like any other ranger by the time she was 9, and by 16 she was chugging ale with the best of them. Arabelle is pretty good at her job since she was raised around Rangers, so when Gandalf was told of the quest the dwarves had, he knew the perfect person to bring with them on the quest. With a Ranger, a wizard, and a thief, along with over a dozen Dwarves, the Arkenstone was sure to fall back into the hands of its rightful owner.
