The Premise:​

In the modern day, a world lies in the shadows. The Hidden. They are the things from myths and legends and stories. Their community as a whole is ruled over by the Hidden who has proven themselves the most powerful out of all the other leaders. But individual Hiddens were governed by their clan. Some clans are more powerful than others, with more magic, more abilities and more members. With the Hiddens always fighting, the current king has created an academy to try and unite the clans and teach tolerance and unity, fearing that in this day and age they are more likely to be discovered by the Humans.


The clans represented will be listed from most powerful to least. You can pick your character to be in any of the clans except the top five will have limited spaces since they are the most powerful. I will provide descriptions of the clans but your powers can be anything you think fits for that type. Obviously you can't be that creative with Vampire powers or Shape Shifter, but Fae and Witches and others can have very personalized touches.

The Lore:​

Hidden and Human relation History:

In the Hidden community, the population is very low. The largest clan, Witches, only having about 300 members. The smallest, the Wolves, having only 100 known members. The reasons why is most children do not survive past puberty, the strain of their powers and the drain of the magic too much to withstand. Many parents only have one child and some do not wish to go through the pain of losing their child. Due to this in an effort to prevent inbreeding, Clan’s understand they must have children outside of their own people. Though “pureblood matches” are always revered as more powerful.


Dating outside of your clan is heavily frowned upon since the child will either be born to one clan or the other, never a cross breed. Clan numbers are so important to the leaders and their people, they see the threat of “giving” a “rival” clan more warriors as worse than having a human child.


When Hiddens have children with humans, the babies are either human or apart of that Hidden members clan. Most clans will only keep the Hidden babies and leave the human ones with their human parent though some Hiddens marry humans and fall in love with them. These couples are an oddity and are looked down on. Most Clan members do not stay with the human partner past birth, never revealing that they aren’t human themselves. Humans are seen in some upper clan cultures as only having use in keeping the population up. Only in Vampire, Elemental and Witch clans are humans more commonly brought in for love and allowed to learn the secrets of the Hidden.


Some clans, like the Genies and Dragons, keep very isolated from humans and hide in unpopulated terrain in pure Hidden communities. Most though live amongst the humans but in secluded areas or huge compounds where it is just them. Small towns, the ones where humans drive by and everyone stares, those might be because they are all of one clan and don't want humans seeing something they shouldn't. They exist in the modern human world but just try not to interact with us except for the more greedy clans who want power and wealth like the Succubi and Sirens. The clans like the Vampires who need to feed socialize regularly integrate with . They have every modern amenity available though some choose to forgo it, some Elementals hiding away in forests or mountains, keeping everyone out.


The fear for Humans is due to the common knowledge that Humans are not known for being tolerant people who accept minority groups who might pose a threat on the status quo. Hiddens are taught their clans tragedies and know the history that has been distorted. All the stories and myths of their kind are based off of true events but distorted into the stories humans tell. The Dragon killings in medieval times. The witch trials. Vampires drawn up as evil Draculas and the need to slay them. Genies seen as a slave like race. Succubi seen as demonic. But they know they could be discovered with how Human technology and population is expanding. And they also know that despite their differences… they should have a united front when they are discovered. Thus, Prapos…

The fear of discovery is so great for the Hidden that most members, unless highly ranking or alligned, are put to death if they expose Hidden culture without sanction from the Clan leader or the King themselves.


Clan Relations

Clans over time can forge allies with other clans due to a number of reasons, shared interests, ideals, or even enemies. Allying yourself is not a common practice over the Hidden, clans tending to favour the “look out for yourself” approach. Known clan alliances are as follows:


The Phoenix Clan and the Genies:

Allied due to the Phoenix clan leader and King of the Hidden outlawing the practice of enslaving the Genies.


The Phoenix Clan and the Fae:

Allied through the marriage of Vu and Nessa.


The Wolf Clan and the Vampires:

Allied through common beliefs that they are the most powerful clans and deserve to be in power.


The Elemental Clan, the Shapeshifters and the Witches:

Allied through common beliefs that they are the least politically powerful Hiddens and need power in numbers.


Clan enemies are due to many different factors. Some Clans keep to themselves but it is very common for Clans to have strong rivalry with one another. Much more common than having strong comradery with one another. Known clan enemies are as follows:


The Phoenix Clan and the Wolves:

In a rivalry due to a long history of battle for power and which clan is superior. The Phoenix clan in power now after taking control from the Wolf clan.


The Vampires and the Fae:

In a rivalry due to murders many years ago where Vampires sucked the blood of some Fae due to the intoxicating nature of their blood.


The Wolf Clan and the Shapeshifters:

In a rivalry due to a long held belief that the Wolves are superior to the Shapeshifters.


The Dragons and the Genies:

In a rivalry due to the enslavement of the Genies to the Dragons. The Genies, gaining power and wealth quickly, in the name of restitution keep fighting over land and territory with the Dragons.


The Sirens and the Genies:

In a rivalry due to the enslavement of the Genies to the Sirens and the resistance the Sirens had to letting them have their freedom.


The Sirens and the Succubi and Incubi:

In a rivalry due to a long feud over who is the most wealthy, desirable, and powerful. Fueled by prejudice and jealousy over each others growth and gain of resources.


In Hidden society, humans are seen as the lowest of the low. But Witches are the next from the bottom. Most radical groups within the Hidden community originate within the witch clan due to the oppression the clan feels from the others, reduced to use their magic to do menial labor jobs. Despite the very demeaning work available working for other Hidden clans, it is still seen as better than working for Humans. Having Humans work for you is an acceptable practice for those who have business in their world but to work FOR a Human… there is no “self-respecting” Hidden who would stoop so low.


Prapos Structure and Facts:

Prapos Academy is located in Europe on a private island where the richer clans easily bought all of the land, making it the first completely Hidden run and human free land since Roanoke, El Dorado and Atlantis. The groups will be sent into the modern world and into different Hidden communities on their assignments.


Every student when entering will meet at an opening ceremony. King Huo believes their school should start as they intend to finish. In unity. From there, you will be assigned to different small groups and given an assignment designed to test your abilities and how you function in a team. These assignments, ordered by the King himself, serve a greater purpose. The reason why it is crucial to have a united front as soon as possible…


Headmistress Adira is from the Phoenix clan, an old friend of Vu Huo’s. She rules her school in a peaceful but strict manner. Those caught breaking the few rules are punished severely.


The school rules are as follows:

1. NO fighting with the other students except in a spar.
2. NO using magic against the other students except in a spar.
3. NO exposing the Hiddens to humans
4. Follow all orders and instructions given by professors

And finally

5.) Keep all information and data collected from class assigned missions secret from your clan. Only share this information or discuss it with your King, Professors and Headmistress.

The Clans:
Listed from considered most powerful politically and naturally to least. A brief history, Current Clan Leader, and some common magical/physical traits.

The Phoenix:

History:
The Phoenix clan is the most powerful clan among the Hidden for their Clan Leader is also the King of all the Hidden. The current leader's name is Vu Huo. Whenever an old king is challenged to a spar(has to be by a clan leader), if the new comer wins, then that clan is named the most powerful. The Phoenix clan has only recently claimed strongest and holds great animosity to the Wolves who always thought they were stronger than them.

Traits:
Whenever a Phoenix gets emotional, something always catches on fire. Whether that be their hair burns like fire, their eyes, their hands. Some have even been known to completely be engulfed in flames. Their powers are always closely linked to flames. A classic ability every Phoenix has is being able to turn into their Phoenix bird form and never be burned by any flame. They have healing powers as well though the strength of those powers depend on the Phoenix. Only the strongest Phoenix's have been rumored to have the ability to be reborn but all Phoenix's have some regenerative powers and are very hard to kill with physical means. Though they are weak to magic.

The Wolves

History:
Their current clan leader is Sassaba Adar. She rules with an iron clad fist but loyalty to all her Hidden clan members. She comes from a long line of clan leaders, her grandfather being the old Clan King who was defeated by Vu. They Wolves have minor history with the Shape Shifters as well, thinking them as lesser and sometimes hiring them as servants. The clan has always had a close ally in the Vampires though.

Traits: All Wolves when in their human form can possess wolf like qualities when emotional. They can only shift into a wolf but unlike Shapeshifters, Wolves can sometimes partially shift halfway, a very powerful form. They are prideful and loyal to their allies and family. Some have been rumored to be able to telepathically communicate to those in their clan and pack. All Wolves have varying degrees of super strength and speed. They cannot heal anyone but in their wolf form are affected very little by magic.

The Vampires

History: Their Current clan leader is Vasilios Edom. A new leader from many bloody fights. His clan made up of those who believe in only the tough survive. Their clan lives among the Humans the most, needing their blood to survive though any Hidden could also provide blood. The blood of the fae actually being the only thing to get a Vampire drunk. Because of this fact the Fae clan hate them and see them as monsters who wish to hunt them all to death. The Vampires see them as whiny prudes who won't be any fun and let them have a quick bite.

Traits: Vampires come with the classic super strength and super speed. They can read what clan you belong too by sensing your blood. Varying degrees of what else they can do through your blood depends on the vampire. All Vampires have a glamour on their features, always looking slightly different to everyone to be what that person would find most attractive. Only another vampire or Witch with a spell can see what they truly look like. All Vampires have retractable fangs. Some have claws and some can manipulate shadows and put thralls on their victims. A Vampire bite does not change you into one, but if they drain you completely and give you some of their blood then you can be changed. Humans just become Vampires but other Hiddens lose all their other abilities in favor of the more basic Vampire ones. Born Vampires are much more powerful than turned Vampires. Vampires do not live forever but do live for a very long time. Ten of our years for one of theirs.
The Sirens

History:The Sirens are ruled by their leader Dieo Orabelle. She has ruled like a beloved princess for many years, taking over when her husband died. Her son is being groomed for the next position. She rules her people like a french royal court with dances and extravagance. They are known for charming humans out of their money and are easily the wealthiest of all the clans besides the Succubi and Genies. The Sirens can be either male or female. Their only known rivals are the Succubi since they believe they are more beautiful and enchanting. Sirens known for being sought after lovers for the rest of the clans.

Traits: Sirens are known for their good looks though some have scales, webbed hands, or even gills. All Sirens have beautiful voices which can enchant anyone who listens and is weak of will. Other powers are dependant on the Siren. Some have been known to be able to thrall their enemies with their songs and convincing or mind controlling them that way. Dieo is rumored to be such a Siren. Some can even grow their mermaid like tails when in the water. The reason they are so powerful is due to their incredible strength and ability to breathe underwater. Some powerful and well trained Sirens have also been rumored to be able to sing high range frequencies that can hurt and or even kill their enemies.
The Dragons

History: A proud clan very low in numbers due to overhunting by humans in ancient times. They are ruled by their leader Attor Nathar who was voted to the position through his many battle victories for territory against the Genies. The two clans favouring the same desert like climate and always battling over territory lines. The Dragons were the only clan to be exposed to the humans so publically in the olden days and so openly hunted besides the Witches. Their clan favors showing respect to those who earn it through courage and honor.

Traits: Not all Dragons can shift into a full Dragon but all can manifest the fire breathing, claws, and wings. The full strength and size of a dragon requires such power that only the most trained warriors can obtain the ability. Dragon fire can melt anything except a Phoenix or a Genie. All Dragons can have scale like skin, lizard like eyes, and sharp claws. All have the ability to fly for great distances and at great speeds. Some can also turn their hands into their precious Dragon Fire instead of just breathing it.

The Fae

History: A very gentle clan who fights with almost no one except the Vampires. Their leader is Ava Cyrena, sister of Nessa Cyrena who married Vu Huo. Ava rules her clan in peace and with very little governing. With so many different types of Fae Hiddeners, they are the largest clan of everyone. Most have a deep love for the earth and for animals but all Fae children have been taught to fear the Vampire.In the olden days, a couple Fae Hiddeners were murdered and drained of their blood by some Vampires who developed a real taste for their blood. Now the two clans are always one wrong look away from war.


Traits:No matter if you are short like a dwarf or tall like an Elf, all Fae have pointed ears and wings. If those wings are more bird like to more insect like depends on the Fae. Most Fae have the ability to heal others and themselves. Fae can also create portals and bring others to travel through them as well. But no one can go through the portals without holding onto a Fae or they would be lost in the void between space. Some Fae have powers connected to the earth or the elements though none are as strongly connected as the Elementals are. Most Fae think of Humans as play things and can thrall them and any other Hiddener in their Fairy Circles with dances filled with magic. Though the Fairy Circle is barbaric practice Ava has outlawed.


The Genies

History: The Genies are the newest clan to be formed, having just earned their freedom from the Dragons and Sirens. Their leader is Dijon Hitkar, the youngest of all the leaders. His Father, Ashay Hitkar, died in the war for freedom. The Genies used as servants for the more powerful clans. They won their freedom and the King Vu Huo decreed that the practice of owning the Genies would be abolished. Due to this the Genies and Phoenix clans are very close. The Genies have a deep hatred for the Siren and Dragon clans though and are always fighting the two.

Traits: Genies look like normal humans except they can turn into smoke and travel anywhere they want to in an instant much like the Fae except they do not need portals. The Genies also cannot be physically harmed by any weapon. Only hurting them with magic or their lamp can kill them or trap them. Every Genie born has a lamp which manifests itself to them. Every Genie is taught to guard their lamp with their life and never let anyone touch it. They can grant the wish of anyone they choose, not just their owner. But a Genie cannot grant their own wish or the wish of another Genie. Due to this amazing ability, the clan quickly gained money and power through tricking humans into making poor wishes which benefited them when granted.

The Succubi and incubi

History: Kirtan Minaz rules this clan much like Dieo. As the only Incubi to take the position of Clan Leader, Kirtan is a huge play boy and has earned very little respect from the other clan leaders. His clan runs free with very little rules and a history of selling secrets of powerful humans that they obtained through their natural sexual talents.

Traits: All Incubi and Succubi can look young forever and live forever technically though they can be killed by magic and physical attacks. Incubi and Succubi obtain their youth through sucking the life force from their partners. If they take too much they can kill the person. Some Succubi and Incubi have been known to have the ability to grow wings and a tail. A common attribute for the Succubi and Incubi are their horns. Most rely on their ability to steal life from a kiss. All Succubi and Incubi have toxins in their skin which they can turn on and off and which make their touch an aphrodisiac.

The Elementals

History: The Elementals are looked down on by many of the clans for being basically human with only one trait making them different. Their clan leader is voted on by the whole clan since there are so few and most live in human society since they can blend easier. The current Clan Leader is Finn Winchester an earth elemental. He has very little pull and power with the other leaders but is beloved by all of the other Elementals. Their clan allies closely with the Shape Shifters and the Witches since they are the weakest in political power than all the others.

Traits: Look very human. They have one element or affinity to one thing which they can have almost complete control over with heavy training. Some very very powerful Elementals are said to be able to have control over two elements or two affinities. The only Elemental King in all of Hidden history many many centuries ago was rumored to have control over Metal and secretly... the Earth as well. Nothing has ever been proven.

The Shape Shifters

History: The shape shifters are allied very close with nature and peace, the ability to turn into any animal. They are led by Layla Taylor. She has been voted by many of the clans as the most caring and involved clan leader, always checking in with her clan, always trying to make things better. But some fear in an effort not to cause confrontation she lets it slide that the poorest of her clan must work as servants for the Wolves. Shifters believing they should be the most powerful since they can turn into any animal.

Traits: Shapeshifters look completely normal and the vast majority cannot maintain a half shift. They are compelled to change on the full moon unlike Wolves who are strong enough to suppress the urge. Shapeshifters can shift into any animal and only two in the whole existence of time have ever been able to successfully change into another person. The strongest and most skilled can shift into a smaller animal but have there be more than one. Like a herd of butterflies or a bunch of birds. And even fewer than those can maintain a half shift. Some shapeshifters can even talk to other animals when shifted. Shape Shifters are fast and strong but unlike the wolves are not protected from magic when in their changed animal form.

The Witches

History: The most human like of all the Hidden and therefore the most looked down on. Witches are run by Sharla Kindrick. Witches can live their lives as completely normal humans if they so choose and many do due to the fact that they are seen as the lowest class of Hidden. No Witch has ever been King or Queen of the Hidden and therefore have never been in a place of respect and power. They are allies with the Elementals but this is due to the belief in that there is Strength in Numbers. Despite being hunted during the Salem Witch trials, the witches clan is the most populated out of all of the others due to the face that so many marry humans. Most clans when they have a child with one parent human and the other Hidden, the child has a 50/50 shot of being either human or Hidden. Never a cross breed. Witches however always have witch children no matter who they have children with. Some underground factions within the Witch clan believe this is because they were meant to be the most powerful and dominant clan but are kept down by those who wish to stay in power.


Traits: Normal human attributes though Witches can sometimes have strange physical mutations. Some witches, like Elementals, are born with gifts that they can use at any time depending on how strong they are. More commonly though, Witches rely on gathering magic through crystals, spells and rituals. A witches magic is the most powerful type of magic but a witch with no natural born magic is weak in spontaneous battles. A witch, with the right training, can perform any kind of magic known to the community but most specialize in one magic and perfect their spells and techniques. They are not naturally strong or fast but can cast spells which make them that way.
