Kyler followed River outside not because she simply told him to. He was actually surprised she had enough common sense to come for him. The River he knew would simply take off into the night, not caring about consequences of her rash actions. Kyler knew it was only because of everything that had happened, that she was not a responsible individual all of a sudden. But it didn’t stop him from following, especially since Stevie was out there with her. He wore the big shoes now and he needed to fill them. Taking care of people was not what Ky was exceptionally good at but it was in the job description, he was responsible for many lives now and the job didn’t understand breaks, weekends or holidays. It was a 24/7 thing and Kyler had to either sink or swim.

From what he understood, the girls wanted to go dancing. It didn’t sound particularly dangerous but one could never know. The Hellhounds dared attack them right here at home when everyone was present. Two girls all alone, no matter how badass, were easy prey and if they returned home sporting even one tiny scratch, Kyle would not forgive it to himself. And since Griffin was with him, it was automatically him who was going to be Kyle’s second for tonight. The clubhouse was reconstructed and well protected. Plus, there were a few guys that already had Kyler’s full trust to keep the fortress safe while he was out for the night. Sure, he would be there mostly to keep an eye on Stevie…and River, of course, yeah, on her too…but it didn’t mean he couldn’t have some fun.

A grin widened his lips upon Stevie’s words. “Can’t say we had a lot of choice. Your friend is kinda persuasive.” Kyler told her as he fixed the collar of his leather jacket. River mumbled something quietly but not quietly enough for Ky to miss it. As they all walked to the Escalade parked in the back, he grabbed her arm and pulled her closer, making sure their little exchange remained between them. River seemed to understand his point if her eyes were telling him something. He was willing to let a lot of things slide to her but it was time she also learned to play with everyone. These were times when everyone had to strictly choose a side and no internal feuds and stupid disputes were allowed. This was war and the Harbingers needed to stand as one.

“You’re driving, kid.” Kyler told Griffin and threw him a set of keys. The Escalade was a perfect choice, especially with its bulletproof windows. Courtesy of Trevor. The fresh leader took his shotgun seat and buckled in just as he heard the question in the back. “College boys? That’s what we’re looking for tonight?” he groaned painfully. “I thought you, ladies, wanted to have some real fun.” he rolled his eyes. And still, his grumpy protest was there only to cover the stab of jealousy he felt when he imagined some sticky frat boy paws on Stevie’s body. Hell, that was happening only over his dead body. The car was passing the night streets and the closer to the club they were, the more convinced Kyle was that his hawk eyes were going to be stuck to the pretty nurse all night. And if anyone even blinked suspiciously, it was his dog duty to eliminate the threat.

Things were quite a bit different in her life when Stephania was still in college. She was more outgoing back then, more reckless, and less worried about the consequences of her actions. At that point, she hadn't been dating Clark very long and he had yet to sink his vicious claws into her. Even though she worked during the day and took her classes at night, Stevie always made sure she made time for her friends and family. Whether it was Sunday dinners with her brothers and parents or Saturday nights out at Club Pacifica, she was there with a smile on her face. The brunette was younger back then, more able to work 12-hour shifts on less than two hours of sleep. And she didn't have an overbearing boyfriend stalking her every move. At least, not that she knew about anyway.

In reality, Clark had been there. He was the obsessive type and had begun to follow Stevie as soon as they started dating. Despite her giving him no reason, he didn't trust her or anyone around her at all. He constantly thought that she was cheating on him with every person she talked to. So, as time went on and they dated longer, Clark began to force her into isolation. She stopped talking to friends or people outside of the Harbingers, missed more Sunday family dinners than she attended, and even quit her job to become the Harbingers' captive medical professional. Most of them didn't recognize what was happening and so she couldn't blame them. And now that Clark was gone, her family barely talked to her anymore, and her friends had fallen off the radar, the Harbingers were all she really had left. Friendships like River, she wouldn't trade for the world.

Stevie wondered what it would be like, to go back to Club Pacifica after all that had happened. Would she still find it as fun as she had back then? Well, there was only one way to find out. "Well if that's the case, Griffin, you'll have to save a dance for me," the brunette nurse responded with a teasing grin, turning her chocolate-brown gaze to Kyler upon hearing his words. "Oh, I'm sure she is." Feeling lighter and more carefree than the tense, mournful atmosphere felt throughout the rest of the day, she began walking towards the blacked-out Escalade, finding comfort in its tinted windows and subtle armored body. As they climbed inside, Stevie made sure to buckle herself in before turning towards River. "It's been a while since I've been. But back then, they played great dancing music and I never paid for my own drinks. So, I'd say it will be a pretty good time!"

Kyler's words elicited a laugh from Stevie as the SUV took off into the night, the GPS on the fancy screen guiding their way. "Dancing and exploiting 'Daddy's money' from some college boys doesn't sound like fun to you?" she asked, a teasing smirk playing on the corners of her lips, "Well, what's your definition of 'real fun' then?" Streetlights flashed through the windows as the Escalade moved quickly through the night and it wasn't long before she could feel the vibrations of the loud club music bass rattle the car. Peering out the window, she saw the neon sign stating the club's name in bright cursive, framed on either side by a palm tree and a flamingo. It had a tropical theme that she enjoyed when she was younger and unable to drink much alcohol that didn't taste like juice. The sight of girls in short skirts and guys in chinos felt almost nostalgic in a way, and her heart began to race a bit with excitement. "Well? Should we head inside?"

The look River shot Griffin when he exited the clubhouse was not lost on the brunette mechanic. He caught the sharp look in her eyes, the parted lips, and braced himself for another insult, even preparing a few ideas for a response of his own. That was always how their relationship or friendship or acquaintanceship or whatever it was called went. Snarky banter thrown back and forth until one was left too annoyed to think of a witty response, thereby losing that round of debate. A small, masochistic part of him enjoyed those arguments, craving them even sometimes to keep him on his toes. But ever since the attack a few days ago, that all seemed to go away. Hell, Grif wasn't even sure he had seen River at all since that night, since she had fixed him up and given him a ride home on the back of her motorcycle. Despite working so many hours in the past week in an attempt to get Harbinger wheels moving again, he realized he missed their back-and-forth, just a bit.

And just like that, River turned away, causing Griffin to furrow his brow in a bit of confusion. What was that about? Was she mad at him? Well whatever, things would probably just return to normal soon. Despite whatever happened between them that night and how he had been thinking about her all week and hoping she was okay. Fuck all of that, right? "Okay, Escalade it is then," Griffin said with a shrug, slipping his hands into the front pockets of his pants. Based on the way Kyler looked at Stevie, both then and at any moment in time, the mechanic had a feeling that he would be in charge of River's safety tonight. Whatever tension or hostility there was between them would have to take a back burner. At the end of the day, they had to keep the girls safe, even if he was pretty certain River was damn good at keeping herself safe.

Hearing Kyle's voice from behind him, Griffin barely turned quick enough in time to catch a set of shiny silver keys the leader tossed in his direction. He had been sure Ky would want to drive them, to be in control of the situation. But if was going to let Grif drive the tricked-out Escalade, there was no way he was going to complain. Trevor did quite a number on that thing, and all for the better. It was practically a tank, indestructible. Bulletproof in every way, including the tires, and tinted in a way that was probably illegal. Despite being a modern vehicle, it was one that Grif absolutely loved to work on when it rolled into his shop. "Sure," the brunette answered with a grin, stepping over to the driver's seat and climbing in. He immediately started the vehicle, enjoying the sounds it made as it roared to life and purred beneath his fingertips. Barely waiting for the others to climb in as he tapped the club into the GPS, the Escalade took off down the road into the night.

Griffin couldn't help but chuckle lowly at Stevie's words, wondering how their new fearless leader would react to her innocent and possibly oblivious flirts. "Besides, Ky, there will be college girls too, looking for 'bad boys' to annoy their parents. And who better to compare us to than a bunch of scrawny frat bros?" Grif added with a smirk, glancing over at him as they pulled into the parking lot. It was loud, and he could feel himself getting more excited by the second. "Oh we definitely should," he answered Stevie, cutting the engine and pushing out of the Escalade. Pausing only to wait for the others to climb out as well, Griffin led the way through the front doors into the dim lights of the club, not even bothering to pause with the bouncer at the front door. He would undoubtedly see the Harbinger patches on their jackets and knew better than to stop them. Just inside the door to the club, he paused, drinking in the atmosphere. People were everywhere, a spectrum of drunkenness and intoxication. It was an adult's playground. "Well ladies, he said turning back to them, "Where do you want to start?"

Stevie, Griffin ( MadiRaiCat MadiRaiCat ), Kyler
Life had taken many new turns for River when she left home and followed her brother to join the gang life but one thing remained. One thing that accompanied her the whole time, a skill acquired as early as humanly possible. River simply adored a good party. Even back at high school, back when her hair was platinum blonde, her clothes way brighter colors and her smile less deadly and more genuine, she was the one person a party would not start without. Exactly as Kesha sings, the party won’t start till River walks in. She breathed and lived the dance music, people loved her presence and River, back then still going by Angie, basked in all the attention she was getting. Music was flowing through her veins and she let it move her and pour rhythm in her hips. River could dance the night away, return home accompanied by the first sun rays peeking over the horizon and attend another party next evening.

Naturally, when Stevie told her about a club that would bring back all those years of innocence, at least seemingly, River was absolutely down to go. Her skin already tingled as they all piled in the bulletproof Escalade and Stevie’s words only got her more excited. “Never paid for drinks, huh?” she grinned, mischief sparkling in every feature of her face. Kyler added his two cents as well which only made River scoff. “His kind of fun probably has something to do with being buried under the clubhouse and drinking the night away. Or in the arms of another…”

“I’d stop talking if I were you, kid.” Kyler grinned at her over his shoulder and River just scoffed. “One way or another, I won’t be against it if a gentleman offers to buy me a drink tonight.” she giggled just as Griffin spoke about bad boys. That made the redhead lean closer to the front and she stared at Griff first, then at Kyler. “If you wanted to give them college girls some bad boys, you should have brought some with you.” she winked right before they parked the car. Neon lights shone all around them and when River’s heels touched the ground, she smirked. The air was soaked with alcohol, cigarettes and weed smell and the closer to the club they were, the stronger the scent. Not that River had any problem with it, she was way too familiar with all three. Her hand reached for Stevie’s to keep close to her friend. “Heading in, now.”

The bouncer barely looked their way as they entered and River suspected the signs of Hellhounds on the boys. She didn’t stop to ponder about it, just held onto Stevie as they dove inside the madness of the club. “On the dance floor.” River then answered Griff’s question and made it her point not to look at him. Ever since his remark about college girls, she was masking the jealousy with her usual resting bitch face. Yet, the idea of seeing Griffin with some stuck up rich daddy’s girl on his arm was making her grind her teeth. “Good luck with the college girls.” she told the guys with a tad more venom in her voice than she wanted and then headed straight in the middle of the dance floor. Music was already calling her name, filling her veins with energy she needed to throw her hips this way and that and soon, River was smitten by the magic of the dance floor, smiling and laughing genuinely after a very long time. “I will forever love you for this idea!” she screamed at Stevie so the brunette would hear her. “And I do owe you one. A huge one.”

Hearing about college boys truly hit Kyler harder than any opponent in the pit. With a reputation like his own, a questionable one at best, no one would expect him to be phased by a simple mention of other men dancing with Stevie. Then again, she was his secret, his feelings for her only for him and his little moments in which he imagined how it would actually feel to go to her and tell her, to place his hand on the nape of neck, squeeze just enough to make her feel what he felt and steer her lips to his, finally taste what he considered forbidden fruit. Kyler often had these sinful dreams and had to remind himself that despite Clark being gone, Stevie was off limits. How would it make him look if he went after his brother-in-arms’s girl? Poor Kyler, always putting everyone else’s happiness before his own.

“Taking their money from them sounds fun, I just don’t particularly like the idea of them placing their grubby paws all over you two in order to get a few bucks out of them.” Kyler turned to Stevie and forced a smile on his lips. Vivid pictures of Stevie in the arms of some dumbass frat boy popped up in his head and he subconsciously balled his hands into fists. Thank god for Griff cutting in. “That’s true. Those ladies need a break from all those guys with the same clothes and haircuts.” he offered a toothy grin. Of course, River had something to say about it too but it was right before they parked and before Kyler had a chance to send her to hell, she was gone.

Outside, the club was almost surrounded by people, already intoxicated, some way too much. A few girls in impossible heels and the tiniest shorts stumbled past them, giggling and swaying in their drunken state so much that Ky almost wanted to grab them so they wouldn’t fall.A sound of breaking glass cut through the air making Kyle jerk his head to the side but he couldn’t see the culprit. Girls were already heading inside and so was Griff so Kyler followed them. Music was blasting through the speakers and the place was packed. People were on the dance floor, another pack occupied the bar and gave four bartenders a run for their money, yelling and screaming their demands. Their voices dissolved in the air and hearing your own voice was practically impossible.

The whole environment was vastly different from the clubhouse and Kyler felt slightly out of place. But he saw the joy in the girls’ faces when they entered the throng of people and he nodded to himself. They needed it. They all needed this. It was great to sit and drink in Trevor’s memory but the heavy cloud of sorrow was still hanging over them. Maybe this sort of party was what they needed. “Hey, Griff.” Kyler spoke to his friend, leaning to his ear to make sure he heard him. “Divide and conquer, okay? Keep an eye on River, I’ll do the same for Stevie. We don’t need more trouble coming our way.” he said. “Wanna get a beer first or you’re the dancing queen yourself?”

stephania torrero.
With her heart starting to race and a smile gracing her features, Stephania wanted nothing more than to disappear into the bass-filled walls of Club Pacifica. She wanted to find a fruity, peach-colored drink that was far too sweet for her older palate and dance until the heels on her feet caused blisters, the pain from which the alcohol would dull. She wanted to forget all her worries and just have a good time, like nothing else in the world mattered but the warm feeling of booze and the freedom that filled her soul. So, she was so thankful when Griffin positively answered her question, biting her lip to keep from 'wooing' as she had done in that club many times all those years ago. If she were truly wishing to dwell on it, Stevie would be jealous of the younger version of herself, that naive brunette who had no idea what life was about to throw at her. But, on the other hand, she was so much stronger, wiser, braver, and kinder because of it. And that was something that she wouldn't trade for the world.

Kyler's words caught her attention, and something about the idea of him hanging around young girls in a club caused her chest to tighten. But, that was unfair, wasn't it? After all, she was just talking about college boys with 'Daddy's money.' Shaking those thoughts away, the brunette nurse immediately followed her redheaded friend out of the Escalade, the satisfying click of her heels against the ground nearly all but drowned out by the music from inside the club. The soft skin of River's hand against her own was comforting in a way she didn't notice that she needed, and she squeezed her hand happily. They followed after Griffin towards the front door without care, Kyler bringing up the rear. The nurse realized she would have killed to have an escort like the two men all those years ago, mostly because the bouncer didn't even look twice in their direction as they skipped the line and disappeared inside. The sights, sounds, and smells were nostalgic to her, and it was the pick-me-up she needed after such a long week.

While Stevie almost always started those types of evenings with a drink to get her out of her head, River had other ideas. It wasn't lost on her that something had changed between her redheaded friend and the brunette mechanic, but she couldn't quite place what it was. The venom was still in her words, but it was a different kind. On top of that, she knew better than to push that kind of information out of River. No, instead she would passively ask small questions that combined would bring out the truth... eventually. Until then, Stevie would be happy to dance the night away with her friend if that's what she needed. And so, she let River pull her out into the middle of the dance floor, ready to show the club what Harbinger women could do. They began to dance together, bodies moving in a way that would probably be fairly enticing to outsiders looking in. It would only be so long until someone offered to buy them a drink, probably a stranger, though Stevie knew who she subconsciously wished it would be.

"Come on now, River! You love me forever already," Stevie responded with a teasing smile on her painted lips. She moved her hips in time with the beat, letting the music take over. Her brunette locks fluttered around her shoulders, and she held onto River's hands as they danced together. The hair on the back of the brunette's neck suddenly stood on end, an intuitive sign that one or more people were watching them. Her chocolate brown eyes slid around the room, seeing a few people glance in their direction but not enough to cause that reaction. No, instead she found a group of three guys she'd never met before leaning against the bar. One was a shaggy-haired blonde, another clean-cut and brunette with a beard. The last had his hair hidden under a backward hat, but all had definitely spent a considerable amount of time working out. They stared openly with smirks on their faces. While Stevie knew better than to trust them, and she would much rather have the attention of a different brunette, they were exactly what she had talked about earlier. With a light laugh, Stevie turned her attention back to River. "Twelve o'clock!" she yelled over the music just enough for River to hear, "College boys with money burning holes in their pockets!"

Was the mention of college girls the best idea? No, probably not. Though Kyler seemed rather entertained by the idea of having one on either arm or maybe simply showing off compared to those poorly dressed college guys, Griffin knew he would probably spend the whole evening on bodyguard patrol, making sure one of the girls was in his line of sight at all times. And the brunette mechanic had a sinking suspicion of which one that would be, both because of Kyler's crush and his own confusing feelings toward the fiery redhead. Griffin couldn't see the look on River's face in the seat behind him, but he did hear her scoff and the sass in her tone as she responded. Just another indication that his earlier words might not have been the smartest. At least her words weren't pointed at him, not at that moment. But when she leaned forward, he knew he was in for some sort of insult. "If you wanted to give them college girls some bad boys, you should have brought some with you." There it was, the snark that he had been missing since their confusing interaction all those days ago. It wasn't surprising but still took him a bit off guard. Enough so that it roused a low, chuckle out of the mechanic. Before Griffin had a chance to continue the banter though, they were all out of the car and he was leading the way inside.

As soon as the doors opened, it was nearly impossible to hear anything else but the bass-heavy music that filled those four walls. It vibrated his sternum in a way that was just on the cusp of no longer being pleasant and exhilarating. As he learned though, music like that caused feelings of urgency which meant more purchases and far less inhibition. This was definitely a nightclub, far different than the somber clubhouse funeral they had left earlier in the evening. A woman stumbled past him, clearly drunk and nearly tripping over her own feet. He reached out to steady her, to which she shouted out some drunken gibberish that was either gratitude or an annoyed insult. Whatever the case, she continued to her destination, the bar. Letting out a low chuckle, Griffin turned back to his group, finding the girls ready to go and Kyler seemingly a little uncomfortable. "Care for a dance partner?" he responded with a bit of tease in his tone and eyes focusing on the redhead. She seemed less than impressed, angry even, and he wasn't sure why. Hadn't that been the return of their normal sass-infused banter? Or maybe that's just what he wanted it to be. Because, if Griffin were being honest with himself, feelings came to the surface that night she helped him and gave him a ride home, feelings he wasn't sure he knew how to handle.

So, taken a bit aback by the tone of RIver's voice, the mechanic couldn't even come up with a witty response before the redhead disappeared into the crowd and onto the dancefloor with Stevie in tow. Realizing his lips were parted in a bit of shock, the brunette clenched his jaw so tightly that if one was looking close enough, one could see a vein popping out. What the hell? What had he done? The 'college girls' thing had been a joke, a teasing jab in response to the girls talking about college boys. River had said a lot of barbed words at him, thrown insults and sarcasm in his direction a million times. But never anything in a tone that made him feel like she felt something beyond mild dislike and annoyance for him. "Well, fine then," he heard himself mutter under his breath, furrowing his brow a bit. Fuck that, he wasn't about to let her ruin his night. Not then, not when he needed it to get out of mourning all day. Feeling Kyler's approach, Griffin pushed those thoughts away and turned back toward his new leader. "Sure," he answered with a smirk, knowing perfectly well why Ky picked the brunette nurse. That smirk faltered a bit at the idea of convincing a potentially drunken River to listen to him were the situation to arise. But he would cross that bridge if he came to it. "Let's grab a beer, and scout out the possibilities before making a choice, you know?" And with that, the mechanic led the way to the bar.

Stevie ( MadiRaiCat MadiRaiCat )
It’s been way too long since River allowed herself to get lost in music and just forget the world while her body swayed to the tunes of popular songs. This used to be her life, her Friday and Saturday and sometimes even other days of the week too. She was a party girl through and through and everyone knew her name. Dancing was her second nature and a means for her to forget all troubles. She never danced alone either, a partner was waiting for her on every corner and a series of strategic hips moves had them all lined up. Only when she joined the Harbingers did she stop dancing. It was different to have a little performance on the countertop in their clubhouse. It also earned her a few thirsty looks and catcalls.

But only the gang members went to the clubhouse and a vast majority of them knew she was Jackson’s little sister which made her off limits. Some of them tried, some of them flirted shamelessly with her. But whenever Jackson saw that, it resulted in bloody noses and visiting Stevie at the infirmary. And while River managed to score a few secret rendezvous with some Harbingers, no one was willing to risk their health, not even for a pretty girl. So many times did River rage and beg Jackson to back off, he wouldn’t. As if it was his personal mission to make her life a living hell.

Tonight, Jackson was far away, he didn’t even know she left the clubhouse and so River entered her party girl mode. Without care in the world, she threw her hips this way and that and her funeral dress was now the perfect compliment to her body, clinging to her curves perfectly. This whole setting magicked smiles to both girls’ faces and River dove deep into the song, only emerging when Stevie’s voice pierced the air. Her gaze followed where Stevie instructed her and she felt flutters in her stomach. Three pairs of eyes stared at her and Stevie and interest was written all over their faces. College boys. All three beautiful as hell.

River felt a pang deep in her stomach all of a sudden and she realized her last words to Griffin. Somehow, their banter was there but not as fun as before. It was due to the whole post-murder episode and she knew it. Griff’s warm body clung to her back when she took him home and something broke in them that day. Now the idea of him chasing college girls seemed more infuriating than entertaining. And why on earth would she be thinking of Griffin now that three gorgeous men were interested in her. Blinking the haze away, she mirrored the smirk and leaned closer to Stevie. “I want the one in a hat. You can have the other two.” she grinned, whispering in her ear. “For now.” she added mischievously and bit her lips sensually before licking them in a flirtatious manner. It was enough of an invitation for the boys to start walking in their directions. River’s hand snaked around the neck of her chosen one and his arms gripped her waist automatically. No words were needed between them and just as she inhaled the spicy fragrance of his expensive cologne, they swayed their bodies in unison as if this was not their first dance. “Gorgeous.” he growled in her ear, his hot breath spilling on her skin, and River shivered. Over his shoulder, her eyes found Stevie’s and she offered the nurse a grateful wink before she sank into the boy’s arms, losing herself in his broad frame.

Grif ( MadiRaiCat MadiRaiCat )
Kyler’s eyes followed Stevie and River as they joined the sea of bodies and he grew slightly worried. Was this a wise choice? He was the big man now, people relied on him to make the right decisions and the first thing he really did was bring his people here. The club was crowded and it was a new territory to Kyle. He had no preparation whatsoever, didn’t know the club, wasn’t familiar with all possible exits... His self-preservation instinct was screaming at him for being a stupid dick and an irresponsible one at that. Anyone could be hiding in the darkness, covered by shadows and immature kids. Kyler was starting to feel rather dumb for agreeing to do this but then his gaze followed the path of the girls and he saw them dancing and laughing and simply being happy, and this strange warm feeling spilled in his chest. This was needed, more than that. They all needed this sort of distraction and well, he was trained, so was Griffin, they could protect the girls from everything. And everyone.

As River spat poison in Griffin’s way, Kyler couldn’t hide his surprise. He knew how they worked but this felt too sharp, too uncalled for, too…wait, could it be jealousy? Was River jealous of the idea that Griff could find himself a pretty girl tonight? Interesting. That would certainly be an interesting development. And it also worked out with Kyler’s own plan of guarding girls. Telling himself he was doing it all for Griffin and his little thing with the fiery redhead, he proposed the strategy and took Stevie for himself. Sure, it was only to help Griffin find his way to River. Sure it was just that.

Following Griffin to the bar, Kyle was glad the kid proposed getting a beer. While there was no way Ky was getting drunk here, he needed something to hold on to for now and a beer bottle sounded like it would do the trick. The idea of Stevie dancing while a pair of sleazy hands traced her slender figure in that dress was haunting him and while he himself could very well be called a coward for not admitting his feelings to her, we would appreciate other fuckers to back off, Kyler was not particularly keen in the idea of another fight arising, especially this far from home. There were no Harbingers to have his back besides Griff and the two were not enough if all those drunk and high college kids decided to kick their asses. “Beer sounds great.” he mumbled and waved at the bartender as they approached. A petite blonde with her long straightened hair pulled up in a high ponytail swishing from one side to the other as she walked smiled at both men and leaned against the counter. “How can I help you two?” she sent a honeyed tone their way and Ky returned the smile. “Two beers, sweetheart.” he winked and placed a bill in front of her, tipping her generously as well.

“I’ll be right back.” she giggled stupidly and turned on her heel, that long ponytail chasing the rest of her body as she indeed hurried to serve those two handsome bad boys. Ky scoffed and leaned against the bar while scanning the place. For a moment, he searched the crowd to find familiar faces and only when Stevie and River were in his sight, he settled down. There was no way he was about to lose them from the sight. “There you go.” that sweet voice licked his ear again and when he turned around, the bartender handed him adn Griffin a beer. “If you, guys, need anything else, just ask for Lexi.” she chirped and stared at them both for a moment too long before hurrying to serve other customers. “We got a little fan here I guess.” Kyler drawled and brought the bottle to his lps, taking a long swig of the cold beer. The bitter liquid hit the right spot but the moment of distraction was enough for something else slipping his attention. Once he found the girls again, they were not dancing with each other anymore. Three men kept them company and his nightmare was becoming a reality when he saw two pairs of hands gripping Stevie’s waist. “Oh fuck no.” he growled and slammed the beer bottle against the counter way harder than he wanted to. Beer sloshed out and covered the already stained wood and Kyler’s hands balled into fists. He motioned towards the girl with a move of his head so Griffin saw it too and the glimmer in his eyes turned dangerous. “Ready when you are.” he spoke, murder lacing his tone. A few minutes in and he was ready to get his hands dirty for sure unless stopped from swinging his fist.
