Ben considered this and then rearranged the cards as Cam suggested. “You are a genius. We’ll be unstoppable now!” He plucked the card Cam pointed to and put into onto their pile. “Your play.” Nate considered the possibilities and probabilities of other colors and numbers. So far, anything could be possible. Max put down a yellow two. He tried to make himself as much in the background as possible. “Oh!” Nate pulled their only other yellow card and put it onto the pile. His eyes widened as he realized what he’d done. “Oh, sorry! I should have asked. I’m not used to playing in teams.”

Gaige laughed as he heard that, smiling as he watched the card he'd pointed to get put down. His gaze looked at the deck to see what card Max put down before he looked at the one Nate put down. Cameron looked at Nate and smiled. "It's okay. It was all we could do." He said as Gaige looked at the pile and then at their cards. "Put this one down." He said, it was a yellow three. He wondered what Max had, as well as Nate and Cam. He was going to try and keep it yellow anyway.

Ben nodded and plucked the card from their hand and smashed it down on the table. “Okay, if you’re going to be so good at this game, then you’re going to hold the cards.” Without asking or warning, he took Gaige’s hands and placed the cards in them. “Then I can put them on the pile.” Also, Ben liked to play games standing. He got so passionate and excited that sitting simply did not work for him. He stood up and for now, stayed beside Gaige, though he already gave up with personal space and was practically attached to Gaige. This was pretty normal for him since he never did understand how personal space worked. Max contemplated the cards for a good few seconds before placing a yellow one down. Nate bit at his bottom lip. They had no more yellows. He pointed to a blue one and then a wild. “Too early for this one?” He pointed to the wild card.

Gaige laughed as he felt Ben take his hands and the cards were put in them. "That works for me!" Gaige said happily as he looked at the cards. He blushed softly as he noticed how close Ben was still. He looked at the cards before looking at Nate and Cameron with a smirk. Cameron looked at their cards, then the one on the deck. "No, not too early. And go with.. that color." Cam said as he pointed to the blue color. Perhaps if they did it just right, they'd be able to force their friends to pick up more cards.

Nate nodded and placed the wild card down on the pile. Max tried not to react, and Ben groaned. “Please pick a color that is reasonable. Thank you muchly.” Nate laughed and tapped his fingers on the cards long enough to hopefully at least make Ben sweat. “Blue.” Ben shook his head. “I said reasonable. Good cards my friends!” He threw his arms up and then when they came back down, the arm closest to Gaige landed on his own side so that now he had sort of encapsulated him. Again, this was pretty average for Ben.

Cameron held back the laugh as he heard Ben's words though a chuckle did slip out as he sat there, smirking. Gaige watched with an open mouth as he stared, before narrowing his eyes at the others. "Well now that was just rude." He said before he tensed for a second at the arm on him and he glanced at Ben. He looked down at their cards and sighed. He drew two cards before he could place a blue and sent that to Max. Gaige nudged Ben and pointed to a card he'd just picked up. It was a wild plus four. They just needed the direction of the game to shift so they could use it on Cameron and Nate.

Max put down a blue two and it moved on to Cameron and Nate. Nate was trying not to look like he was having a great time doing what was likely rude to his friends. That was the beauty of games like Uno. They could get dirty and it all still be for fun. He put down one of their blue cards and smiled towards Gaige and Ben. Meanwhile, as this was happening, Ben looked at the card and nodded. He was not sure what they could play until then. When it was their turn again, he drew a card that was thankfully a blue zero, which he played. Max put down a blue reverse. Ben tried not to look excited. “If you will do the honors?” There was no reason to hide it now./FONT]

Cameron watched as Max put down a blue two and then watched as Nate put down a blue, then as Ben put down a blue zero, Max reversed it. The grin on Gaige's face grew as he looked at Ben, biting his lip so he didn't look too excited and nodded. "Of course." He said as he put down the wild draw four and grinned over at Cameron and Nate. "Red." Gaige said as Cameron's face went from shock to glaring at Gaige. "How rude!" He said as he looked at Nate before he pulled four cards for them and then it was Max's turn again.

Ben couldn’t help but laugh and laugh at the reaction when Cameron put that card down. “That’s soooo gooood.” He practically giggled with how much it amused him. He did love a good game. “We are soooo good at this.” Max, who was continuing to stay quiet on purpose, put a red seven down as nonchalantly as possible. It was working, because Nate was still shaking his head at the four cards they just had to draw. Ben grabbed ones of the red cards they had and plopped it down before Nate sighed at the fact that the four cards they drew did not have a red. So he drew a card. And another. And another and another and another until finally, as he was huffing, he could put a red zero down.

Gaige smirked as he looked at the others, and he watched as Max put down a red seven, but what made him laugh was Nate drawing card after card before he finally pulled a red. "We really got them." Gaige said with a grin as Cameron glared with a smirk at his friend then looked at Nate. "It's okay, we'll get them back." He said as Gaige put down a yellow zero, switching the colors again. He was trying to figure out how best to win this game as he looked at the others.

Ben was nodding with the most joy in the world. “We do that again, and there’s no way they can stop us. Not even you, Maximillian. I see you over there thinking you can get away with this.” Max simply shrugged as he put down an entirely unobtrusive yellow card. “Ha!” Nate slapped down a yellow three. “You can’t get away with all your dirty tricks.” Ben narrowed his eyes and stared at him. “Is that so, Matthews? You want to bet that we don’t have something up our sleeve?” He winked at Gaige. He didn’t have a plan, but maybe Gaige did. Maybe Gaige could pull one out for them.

Cameron laughed as he looked over at them, they might not be winning, but he was really having a lot of fun playing cards with the three boys. Gaige looked at the yellow three and then at the cards in their hand. Hmm. A wild, a yellow skip and a blue two. Gaige looked at Ben as he saw that wink and a blush hit his face as he smiled. He put the yellow skip down, and sent it over to Nate and Cameron again. "There ya go Nate. Your turn again!" Gaige said with a smirk as Cameron bit his lip. He didn't trust this.

Ben was waiting for Cameron to make the decision for what they were going to do. He had absolutely no strategies when he played anything. He wasn’t even really paying attention to who was winning. “Nice one,” he complimented Gaige. Nate gasped and shook his head. “That’s got to be cheating.” Max very helpfully, said, “Nope.” Nate groaned. “This isn’t fair, Cam.” Thankfully he had to draw so many cards before. He placed a yellow six down. “What now devious duo?”

Gaige smirked as he looked at Nate, he couldn't help it. Cameron on the other hand groaned as he looked at Gaige and then at Nate. "I know. But maybe we can make a comeback." He said as he looked over at Gaige and Ben. Gaige looked at their cards and hummed a little, as he looked at Ben before he placed the wild card down. "Blue and Uno." He said before glancing at Max. They only had the blue two left and he could only hope that either pair didn't have a way to switch the color on them.

Max quietly put a card down, a blue seven, and simply stated, “Uno.” Nate looked at him in shock. He was so busy being distracted by Gaige and Ben that he had not noticed what was going on with Max as well. He turned to Cameron. “This isn’t fair. What do we do now?” They had no idea what color anyone had. It was luck of the draw if they could guess what to change their color to. He looked at Cam. “Okay, how do we handle both sets? I just don’t know.” Ben grinned as he watched the others try to make the decision. This suspenseful moment was what he lived for.

Cameron looked at Max as he put down the blue card and called Uno as well. He glanced at their cards and bit his lip, he didn't have any sevens in any other color. Cameron looked at Nate and swallowed hard. "We do this with dignity." He said as he set down a blue three. "We had nothing else. It's only our luck that we didn't have any sevens." Cam said softly as he looked over at Gaige and Ben. "Haha!" Gaige grinned as he set down the blue two they had. "We win!"

Dignity. Okay. Nate watched as Cameron put the only thing down that they could play. He held his breath. He waited. It wasn’t until Max sighed and shook his head, putting down his blue three in front of him that Nate figured out what really happened. Ben was laughing so loudly that someone might have thought they won more than a game of Uno. He wrapped an arm around Gaige in a tight hug. “I knew we had this in the bag! We are the greatest to have ever lived!” Max rolled his eyes. “Sure sure. That’s what you say now.”

Gaige blushed and grinned as he felt Ben wrap an arm around him in a tight hug. He hugged him back and grinned, nodding his head. "Yeah we did!" He said with a smirk on his face. Cameron huffed and sat back as he crossed his arms over his chest. "You enjoy this victory. It won't be the last." He said before he looked over at the working clock they had still. "Guys! Guess what time it is?" Cam asked as Gaige glanced at the clock. "It's lunchtime! You're going to love the lunches we have here." Gaige said as he pulled back and grinned. "Come on!" He said as he took Ben's hand and stood up.

Nate shook his head and sighed. A loss was a loss, and it made him sad, but it was also a really good game. Max had that smile where Nate could tell that he was actually having a blast even though he was quiet and not saying anything about it. That happened sometimes. It also happened around people they didn’t know as well. Maybe he would warm up to everyone soon. Ben was not having that problem. He loved being here. He was so excited about everything. He thought Gaige and Cameron were great. “Lunchtime! Okay, yes!” He laughed as he stood up with Gaige. “I am holding you to these being the best lunches ever.” Nate laughed too. “They are pretty good. Way better than what we have while traveling everywhere.”

Cameron sighed softly at the loss but he had a lot of fun playing the game with his new friends and with Gaige. Gaige look at Ben and grinned as he took Ben's hand. "Trust me! We have pretty great lunches!" Gaige said happily as he smiled wide. He turned to lead them to the door while Cam followed a little slower behind. "I think that was a great game. We all did pretty well I think." Cam said as they headed out the door to the cafeteria.

Nate was happy to walk with Cameron and Max behind the excited Gaige and Ben. Nate missed Cam. He wished that they could see each other more. Play more games and hang out. “It was awesome. I hope we can come back here more. It’s always the best here.” He smiled then nudged Cam and pointed ahead to the other two. “And I think they get along really well.” Max grinned and hummed. “Swimmingly, I’d say.” Up ahead, Ben was laughing like this was the best day ever, and honestly it might have been. He was having a great time with these other kids. He had never had anyone in his life like Gaige. With their hands connected, he ran forward like he knew where the cafeteria was. “I bet it’s this way!” He ran down a direction without any concern of where they were actually going. He just liked playing.

Cameron nodded as he walked beside Nate, smiling happily. "I hope you guys can come back here more often too." He said before he felt the nudge and looked up ahead at the other two. "I agree completely. I've never seen Gaige this happy since he came here." Cameron said as he looked over at Max with a nod. Gaige laughed as he looked at Ben, running forward with him as he shook his head and gently guided Ben with a pull to their connected hands. "You're close but it's this hallway silly!" Gaige laughed as he turned to head down the correct hallway.

Nate was enjoying watching Ben with Gaige. “Ben’s a fun guy. I’m glad he can make your friend happy.” Max nodded. “Yeah, I think this is a little different, buddy.” Nate narrowed his eyes. “You mean because he does this with us all the time and it’s lost its meaning.” Max rolled his eyes as they followed after the boys running down the hall. Ben was laughing so loudly that someone might have thought they were doing more than running down a hallway. “Ah, well then show me the way, my guide! Do you know where everything is? Maybe we should take you with us. Mama would definitely love someone who can navigate.” He couldn’t help but squeeze that had that he held.

Cameron looked at Nate before he looked at Max, hearing him as well. "I'm glad they get along so well. Gaige would never admit it, but he does love that connection." He said as he watched the two. He chuckled at Nate's words as he watched his friend up ahead. Gaige laughed as he ran with Ben and guided him down the right hallway. "I'd love to go with you, but I have to stay here." He said, though he squeezed the hand that squeezed his back with a smile. Soon he pushed open a door and they were in the cafeteria. "Come on! Line's this way." Gaige said with a smile as he led Ben to it.

Ben was shaking his head. “Why? Why do you have to stay here? Isn’t that boring staying in one place? Isn’t it horrible having to be the guy waiting in a room? I hate that part! We should go!” He got in the line and turned back to look at the rest of them. “Come on, slowpokes. Why are you all the way back there? We’re plotting Gaige’s great escape up here!” He laughed, and Nate laughed too, because this was such a Ben thing to do. Max rolled his eyes, though he stayed as quiet as ever. They slid into the line behind the other two. Ben had one arm slung around Gaige’s shoulders. “Way I see it is that we could do so many great things if we could break free from all of our chains.” Nate narrowed his eyes. “Isn’t that what we’re trying to do? From FEDRA?” Ben shook his head. “I think maybe we have a lot of chains around us.”
