in the eye of the storm,
there can come a false calm of sorts,
a numbness born of overwhelming fear,
nothing but a way to protect the self,
waiting for the sky to clear.

- the god complex. Part One (the setting)

The war waged between gods and men seemed to have no end; the heavens were constantly in a state of division and strife. Once honorable and true, the gods became betrayers and backstabbers, turning against one another, sacrificing eons' worth of fellowship and goodwill for differing ideologies, choosing sides, becoming bitter enemies. A violence and destruction was born, one that no man nor god had ever witnessed before, shaking the earth to it's very core. A millennium's worth of both mortal and immortal blood spilled, running the skies and the ground crimson. Entire civilizations shattered, kingdoms and towns wiped out in the aftermath, casualties numbering in the millions. The clash between Zeus and Hades nearly half a millennium ago was the last known monumental, life-altering altercation between the two sides, and no other clash has ever measured up since.

Nevertheless, the war was not over; skirmishes happen, battles ensue, lives are lost, though not on the same level of intensity as before. Gods on each side still fought, trying to gain whatever territory and land that was left, playing tug of war over who gets to decide the fate of humanity, humans themselves lost in the crossfire. When will it end? Is there an 'end' to even speak of?

Perhaps.

In every storm, there comes a calm of sorts, a fragile, delicate honeymoon phase where warring sides attempt to bring peace, despite the odds, despite the differences, to end the violence and bloodshed. Negotiations are set, truces are born, and on the surface at least, everything seems to be normal, everything seems to be going back to the way they were, a thousand years ago, before the war.

This is the current setting of the first part of this roleplay. after decades of unrest and skirmish, the gods on both sides have finally decided to get together and negotiate peace (hosted and largely planned by the roman goddess Bellona ( Table Table ) of warfare). This historic moment will be set in the old home of the gods, Mount Olympus, ruined after centuries of strife.

The day is turning into night; the sky is wreathed in a slew of dark cloud, tinged with a jaded shade of orange. Gods and goddesses alike are arriving to the banquet, weapons and hostilities left at the door and instead, dressed in their best, remembering the old times. The air is thick with tension, however, layered with a thin coat of civility and politeness that will most likely not survive the night....

    The sky was cloudy as the night approaches Mount Olympus. Within one of the last few shrines still standing on the mountain, Athena watched in anxiety as the gods relished in their banquet. It was like the sound of laughter between the pouring wines and munched meats were nothing more than a facet of formality hiding the tension brought by the attempt of unifying two different factions that were currently in conflict against each other. The Goddess of Wisdom knew, for she was the leader of one of the faction.

    The only reason these two factions can even sit under the same roof was because of the promise of peace. After all the time they've fought each other, surely most of them would be exhausted from the seemingly endless war. Men, no matter how driven they were to slaughter, would someday yearn to go home toward their beloved, returning to the embrace of their beloved ones. The same can be said for the gods. Even Athena herself wished for the war to simply be over and return to the Parthenon, with those she had long sworn to protect.

    It is in her deepest interest that the entire negotiation for peace would simply go according to the plan.

    And it was exactly because of that, Athena grew restless.

    Sitting on her throne, Athena's mind briefly wandered as she was thinking about one of her brothers. Ares was another deity related to war just like herself. But while warfare was a mere part of her, it was not the same for Ares. His entire existence was defined by war, with raw power far greater than most other god and temper to match his fiery will.

    The worst part is that he led the faction opposed to her. And Athena were supposed to bring peace by negotiating a solution with someone who is practically a natural born warmonger and probably hates her to the very gut.

    For a moment, Athena massaged her head as the headache started to emerge.

    "Milady, are you alright?"

    The question from one of her servants, the one who carry the wine to be more precise, brought Athena off of her deep thought.

    "I'd like to say that everything is fine," said Athena half-heartedly before she sighed, "but I guess it was pretty obvious, isn't it?"

    "Yes, it is..." the servant lowered her head, fearful of any possible outburst, "then, would you like a cup of wine?"

    "No, it's alright," said Athena as she was returning her composure, "I need my mind to stay sharp anyway."

    "Pardon me, that was very inconsiderate of me!"

    Athena merely gazed toward the servant in confusion as the latter bowed down.

    "That's fine. It's your job to pour wine for me," said the goddess as she turned her gaze back toward the banquet. Then she closed her eyes and laid her back to her throne as she returned to her thought.

    "It's gonna be a long night, so I might need a sip or two later."

Scrane
One of the first to arrive was a figure clad in thick black robe it seemed to phase through the door, death... well not really this thing was just a reaper, strange creatures that followed the god around regardless the being opened them door for the true deity. Scrane god of death seldom seen his large white and purple robs made him appear to almost float golden eyes looking forward with his usual unamused expression across his face, it was odd that scrane had not shown up with his twin though there was probably some reason, scrane himself was a neutral party in this war he was simply here more or less to record the event. “Hello Athena.... it’s been a while hasn’t it? Scrane mused slight work for the god had piled up recently there where still a backlog of souls form the whole war thing “I apologise my brother could not be here.... to put it lightly....he’s a frog.....or something similar.... regardless I hope your little party can solve this problem... though I fear even such will no services” with that scrane moved to a corner of the room sitting down at a seat that a reaper brought with it before opening up one of his famous tomes, leaving Athena with the deities signature glare of disapproval.

Though pride forbid him from ever admitting it, Ares felt a deep, disconcerting churn in the pit of his stomach, a feeling that he knew spelled trouble. The very word, the concept of it put the war god in a position that made him feel uncharacteristically ill at ease, agitating him to the point of anger. He could not deny it; he hated the word. Such an ugly, distasteful word, a weapon that, used correctly, could ruin and rob the warmonger deity, of his pride, of his power, of his very reason for existence. If global peace was achieved somehow, Ares would be pushed back, his influence and power shrunk to the size of a mustard seed, forever doomed to a dark corner so to speak, unable to get out, tortured by a deep, gnawing desire for a sense of violence and bloodshed, surviving in small dosages of it.

Ares had once known that suffering. A long, long time ago, back when his father had been living; Zeus, the might thunder god, god of all gods, the ultimatum of 'peace' and 'justice' and 'order'. The god had his faults and his flaws, but the general widespread peace and stability he had offered was one that the world had never seen, and one that they have not seen in nearly a millennia after his death. Ares had been cornered and trapped then like a hunted animal, ruled over and oppressed by his father and the rest of his family. But since his death, Ares had experienced nothing but absolute satisfaction; a millennia's worth of violence and bloodshed, the glory of war so abundant in every direction that in the beginning, Ares was uncertain on whether he could handle it.

Oh, but handle he did! Ever since then, Ares had grown stronger, in every sense of the word. Physically, mentally, spiritually; he became wealthier with every successful campaign for territory, more powerful with every battle, every skirmish, every violent action. He drew his very own powers from that immense source, like a flowing spring of fresh blood and brutality. He had become a true warlord, commanding armies and inspiring soldiers to surrender their innocence and turn into bloodthirsty monsters, oblivious to the disastrous consequences that would follow.

But despite this, the feeling of discomposure would not leave Ares' side as he made his way to his old childhood home on his war chariot, pulled by dark winged and well-bred stallions, accompanied by a small number of his men, adorned in brilliant bronzed armour. Ares himself wasn't wearing much armour, since it had been made clear that this was a peaceful gathering, but Ares knew he had to come prepared. No layer of fake civility and politeness would prevent what would evidently be inevitable tonight - a battle, or at the very least an argument that would tear the whole event apart.

And so, that was partly the reason he had even bothered to come; to watch and see how the event unraveled, to be entertained as everything fell apart, and he would take part in relishing it, maybe even be the cause of it, but who knew, right? He wanted to see the expression of defeat on his dear sister's face, see her expression as everything she stood for fell apart, along with the crushed expression of Bellona, her partner in crime in organizing this curse of an event, and in his eyes, a fraudulent failure of a war goddess.

His expression soured at the thought of the goddesses. They had long been a thorn at his side for years, both bitter rivals belonging to bitter sides pushing for radically different ideas. He knew that the goddesses would absolutely love to see him back where he was a millennia ago under the rule of Zeus, trapped and restrained like a dog kept at bay for fear of snapping his jaws too tight. Ares wasn't ignorant of the fact that tonight was their chance of achieving that goal, but he knew better than anyone to never interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake. And that was exactly what Ares thought tonight was; a mistake.

And just like any mistake, it could be taken advantage of. Ares just needed to bide his time and wait for the opportunity, all the while putting up a facade of absolute chivalry and good manners.

It wasn't long until Ares reached the summit of the mountain, and to say that he wasn't bothered by the sight of his ancestral home would be blatant lying. Many memories, both bitter and sweet, flooded him the moment he landed, surrounded by his small entourage of guards, gazing at the majestic, breath-taking structure, still intact after so many years. Ares blinked away his discomposure in a moment, keeping his face and emotions under excellent control as he entered.

The atmosphere was carefully lighthearted, fires already lit to provide the ample amount of light as the fading sun in the sunset sky became darker. Tables beautifully decorated in food and drink dotted the area, and gods and goddesses alike have already started to dine and socialize, with more still to come. On the surface, everything seemed perfectly lively with good humor, but Ares knew that was nothing more than a cover. All the beautiful decor, beautiful food, and beautifully-dressed gods and goddesses couldn't hide the ugliness that simmered underneath, ready to boil over. Ares could feel it, could sense it, in every deity and creature. That feeling of hostility and anger, the tension that lay just beneath. It made him almost giddy as a feckless child, but he knew better. He strolled in as confident as a peacock, dressed handsomely in a very light suit of newly polished armour, showcasing his brilliantly tattooed body. His ice-cold greyish blue eyes raked over the scene, and caught the sight of a particular goddess, sitting all high and mighty on the throne at the center.

Athena.

The throne's back was facing him from where he was standing, but he knew it was his sister - only she had the boldness and arrogance to sit on their father's throne like that. He walked up the steps to the platform, quietly slipping a dagger from his sheath that he had managed to sneak into the event as he made his way to Athena. He came up from behind the throne and held the dagger to her throat, clamping a hand over her mouth, grinning like a naughty child, crooning a soft, "Guess who?" .

As the revelries began, the petter patter of tiny unshoed feet could be heard on the brilliant marble floor. A giggle which brought a smile and deep tranquility to all who heard it. And the chink of armor following close behind. Ami ran up to the party and smiled at her family who she hadn’t seen so gathered in a vary long time. Technically she had simply popped into existence one day as the idea of innocence became powerful enough to form a physical manifestation so no one was actually her family, but she enjoyed the thought of brothers and sisters. The man in white armor followed unnaturally fast behind her considering his heavy armor. “M’lady, please do not run in bare feet, what is you where to step on a thorn?” He said, panting as keeping up with the goddess was draining even for a Demi-god like him. “The thorn would move, they promised not to hurt me after I cried the first time I ever stepped on one.” She said non chelantly. “They....promised?...well, perhaps then you might slow down for my sake? Twould be an awful shame for me to be unable to perform my duties as your protector simply because you are too fast for me.” The knight replies, deciding that arguing with the small child that thorns can’t make promises would be useless, for one because she is too innocent to understand, and for two because he wasn’t quite sure the goddess couldn’t use her powers to make inanimate objects promise such a thing. “Fine, I shall not walk to far from my galant Knight, but you must be prepared for me to forget this promise when I get excited by something. Deal?” She says, and just as she says it she sees ares and Athena and dashed towards them. The knight runs to catch up. “Ares! Athena! It has been so long since we where all in the same room together!” She says excitedly as the white knight comes panting up behind her.

A sensation of excited anticipation surged through the dragon’s body as she advanced towards the ruins. As a creature, it would not have been expected to have received an invitation, but Zena was not *a creature* or mere beast. She was esteemed and chosen by the deities themselves to serve them - and everyone knew her allegiance lay beholden to those that tread the lands of the home of the gods. She flew in, winding herself slowly through the earliest additions to the gathering, who greeted her with smiles of acknowledgment and the odd hand-ruffle on her muzzle. The dragon had made particular efforts to wash and dress appropriately for the event, assuredly one to mark the rest of time itself. Her coat shone a brilliant white, her chest polished blue and a golden necklace chain wound its way in spirals around her long neck, carrying an amulet bestowed to her on her 997th year of her birth.

She was most excited to watch the negotiation, she decided she would assign herself as personal guard once the event had begun, sniffing at the other guards as she wound her way in the air. In flight, she was no lighter than a mortal mongrel dog, and it caused little disturbance.
Zena was expectant to meet with the deities that she would converse and pass most of her time with. She had especially promised Bellona, Persephone and Ami on separate occasions that she would not facilitate any elemental or weather related trickery - besides, she knew better. This was quite possibly the most important of events following the war itself.
The location itself, to Zena, likened itself to the paintings of Mount Olympus she had seen upon chance in the mortal world being traded among the streets below when making her visitations, and was nothing quite like she had seen before. In fact, she had made a visit only four days before, liking nothing more than to watch the human children play and run about the streets.

Ivy curled its way through the cracks in what was left, possessing the remains of a ravaged structure of glory. She flew to one of the crumbling turrets, replacing the falling stone. She hoped none of the other arriving deities had noticed, she already was making sure that everything was in order for the reverenced gods and goddesses that graced the banquet - she could feel a rising tension mingled in the excitement of it all. Upon finishing her self-assigned task, Zena briskly spiralled her way to the wall corner by the entrance, watching for the arrival and appearance of the other deities, in hope that they would find occasion to greet her, as she so cherished in her past time when spending time amongst them. The banquet was bustling and magnificent - a royal kaleidoscope of glorious robes and glamour. Zena took to making slow circuits around the banquet circle, nodding to the deities as they began to gather. She took particular notice, and wariness of a dark and robust figure seated in the corner, offering a sincere and genuine nod of acknowledgement. The dragon looked to the far end of the gathering, where she caught a glimpse of Athena overlooking the party, she walked towards her, Ares and Ami and bowed her great head and shoulder to the ground in subservience towards the them as she drew closer. Upon noticing Ares behind Athena’s throne, Zena felt it all the more necessary to draw closer - just in case. She wondered where Bellona had gotten to. Would she even attend? Ami, the Goddess of innocence was now in close proximity to Zena, who crept behind her and nudged her shoulder in friendly greeting - in hope of not startling the more delicate of the deities too much, not interrupt their conversation - just to make her presence known. She could sense an uncertainty that’s weighed heavy in the atmosphere, and she wished to prepare for every eventuality.

It has been almost a full millennium that this war among the gods has continued without the original figure heads, Zeus and Hades. Developments have been interesting, to say the least. The sides have procured two new leaders, Athena and Ares. Siblings that have taken the term “sibling rivalry” to an entirely new level. Ares has spent his time doing exactly what he does best, winning battles to claim power and territories. He has proven that he is more than capable of the promises he has made and that his power can grow exponentially when he is uncontested. Athena has done her best and has shown an incredible amount of patience as she strategically plays to her strengths of wisdom to try and fight for the peaceful world she once knew. It has been quite entertaining to see how she goes about her business, acting on the information she obtains the moment it comes into existence. Then watching her try to to command events and people around that information has been nothing but sheer fun since she's had to learn how to adapt to personalities of the humans she so adores as she tries to convince them that she's attempting to save their lives. The most delightful thing that Erebus gets to see is how Ares uses his knowledge of his sister's power to his advantage. Ares will do his best to plan things without fully planning them so the thought doesn't come into full existence until the moment it should be set in motion.

Erebus has maintained his neutral standing but still lent his ear to both Ares and Athena a few times over the years. Not that either the god or goddess did much more than advocate for their side but Erebus had liked watching them grow in their own ways while he tried to force them to into momentarily questioning themselves with his contrarian shenanigans. He is positive they would both appreciate his assistance to their causes and it is clear that they both hold their values in high regard but neither have shown the capability of swaying him to one side or another.

All in all, things have been at a constant back and forth and since this clash has been the best provider of merriment in a long time, there was no way Erebus would miss the chance to watch events unfold first hand.

Ah, dusk. The sun finally gave the moon control of the sky when Erebus started his preparations to leave. He was not formally invited to the event but he did receive information that Athena mentioned her expectation of him being at the banquet. He raised himself from the comforts of his throne while his shadow servants brought him his attire for the evening. Erebus is wearing a short sleeve black tunic with traditional laced sandals that go up his calves. The tunic has a silver decorative trim along all edges and he has has adorned himself with silver and gold rings, a black leather belt, and a matte obsidian amulet. He stepped in front of the mirror and raised an eyebrow while smirking. Things surely will be lively. Just as he felt confident about his appearance and his servants nodded their heads in approving silence, he exited his chambers and entered the room he uses for transportation. The doors open to a vast of complete darkness and Erebus thinks of a quick mental image of a darker portion of Mount Olympus before stepping into the void.

Instantly, Erebus appeared in the storage room of the old home of gods. Kept mostly in tact since it contains very valuable things like the delicious wine and food. He grabbed an unopened bottle for himself before walking through the door and walking into the banquet hall. Things were lavish as he had expected but the ruins told their own story. It was a beautiful yet painful sight to see the once so glorious home in such disarray. The hall was lit well enough, candles and fire burning wherever possible, which made Erebus realize he could have directly entered the party. He shrugged the thought off though since he was able to get his own bottle of wine with his initial destination.

Being fashionably late, it seems that he has missed the introductory pleasantries but he would grace others with his presence at his own pace. As he passed a few of the gods and goddesses merrily drinking and conversing, he said his greetings and received the same. He stopped a few times to be complimented and acknowledged for his presence and he reveled in it. Seemingly gliding from one group to another, he took some curious mental notes of his surroundings.

The first note was of Scrane, who was being his usual disgruntled self by isolating himself in a corner reading a tome. Erebus did not want to disturb Scrane and simply cast a shadow servant to relay his greetings and condolences that he had to endure the party without his brother accompanying him. The second note, which was more shocking, was that Zena was present at this banquet. Erebus has asked Zena for assistance from time to time to conjure up storms to increase the darkness of areas so he could utilize his powers more effectively. From where he stood at that moment it seemed that she was in a conversation with Ami and her knight protector. Ami is a cute little goddess but Erebus does not have patience for her ideals. Her young naive nature limits her too much for Erebus to handle for long. He is not very familiar with her knight protector other than his existence.

Making his way around the table, drinking wine from his personal bottle and taking bits of food from the table when it suits his fancy, his eyes caught the other half of the Ami, knight, Zena group. His eyes caught a glimpse of the glimmer of a knife in Ares' hand at Athena's throat. Slight confusion set in at that moment since it did not seem to alarm the aforementioned group. It is too early for things to go awry, there are still important figures who have yet to arrive. What else was I expecting? I know this is inevitable. Erebus shook his head in one hand dramatically while flicking the bottle wielding hand toward Ares. A small barrage of dark bolts of miniature proportions shot towards Ares' hand to knock his hand away from his sister's throat. Erebus was sure to make momentary eye contact with the god of war and wagged his finger at him disapprovingly, seemingly saying 'too soon'. Ares knows how to conduct himself better, Erebus has seen it. More importantly, starting with a full on attack will kill the potential vibe of this impending outburst of chaos since other players have to make their appearances. He'll thank me later anyway. He'll have a better battle on his hands and I'll have a better battle to observe. Athena was sure to appreciate the assistance as well, which is an additional benefit.

Erebus took this moment to clang his nearly empty bottle of wine with another to let the sound resonate through the hall. “Such wonderful evening! Let us all enjoy the celebration before political disputes work their disastrous magic and we can no longer partake in the wine!” With the crowd cheering him on he brought one bottle to his lips and finished it in a few gulps. He then dropped the empty bottle and thrust his fist into the air, “The night is still young!” Though it may seem like Erebus is going out of his way to be an annoying center of attention, he is simply doing as he always does, influencing the field to his preferences by taking advantage of opportunities and making opportunities arise for others. Now he only needs to watch what happens as the fun seems to have already begun.

Eris sat one leg crossed over the other on her penthouse balcony in her lounge chair a glass of scotch lazily grasped in her slender fingers and a cigarette pressed between her plump soft lips. Her silk robe laid gracefully on her skin, the robe showing a tasteful amount of her chest. Admiring the view of the bright lights and the big city she was residing in she removed the cigarette from her mouth instead placing her lips on the rim of the cold glass taking a sip of the hard liquor enjoying the burning sensation as it runs down her throat. She was snapped out of out her tranquility when a tall figure appeared from inside the penthouse, just a mortal she hooked up with the night before nothing special. Her eyes followed his every move as he sat behind her starting to place chaste kisses her neck before speaking. “You were amazing last night” The kisses and compliments were starting to annoy the young goddess, removing the cigarette from her mouth she flicked it across the balcony watching it land on the concrete ground below her. She shoved the man away from her as she stood up from her lounge chair making her way inside her home. “Was it as good for you as it was for me? Maybe we can go for round two” A smirk lied on the man's face but was quickly removed when Eris started laughing. “Good? Good doesn’t even begin to describe how that was...” her bare feet slowly made their way over to him, the glass of scotch still grasped between her slender fingers. A smile was plastered on her face by the look of shock and confusion the man was giving off. “My dear boy...that is by far the worst sex I’ve ever had even twice your age have better stamina than you do...” she proceeded to glare at the mortals' ridiculous comment. “Excuse me? I’m way better than those old wrinkly fucks I’ll tell you that in fact I..." Eris walked away becoming bored of the mortals' rant, walking over to her tray of liquor she poured herself another glass of scotch. Her lips were close to touching the liquid before her eyes were averted back to the man. 'You are just a bitch who is actually shit at sex so fuck you!!!' Placing the glass on the table, she faced the mortal not moving an inch. "A bitch you say...my dear boy if there is one thing I am not bad at it is sex...you think that you are all mighty and powerful just because you are incompetent in bed??" A laugh left her lips before she snapped her fingers two shadow tendrils appeared from under her feet and wrapped themselves around each of the man's arms violently yanking him in the air screams and curse words spewing from his mouth. "Listen here you pathetic mortal...you are nothing but the dirt beneath my shoes, you are weak against me and you are that vermin that should be worshipping me...but it appears you have lost your way...so now you need to learn your place..." Her icy blue eyes slowly turned into a bright golden color her smirk becoming into a cynical smile as she watched her shadow tendrils ripped the man apart from his blood splattering across her face and body while the rest of it spilled onto the cold hardwood floor. Licking her lips free of the blood a moan roared from her throat sending a wave of pleasure through her body. Opening her eyes she was greeted with her daughter Androtasiai "My beautiful daughter I have brought you dinner..." Her hand gestured to the corpse of the man. "An ignorant mortal like the rest of them...he needed to be taught a lesson and I do say...he has understood it now. Enjoy your dinner darling~" She walked away as her child began to consume her meal, her soft footsteps took her towards to the shower so she can remove the rest of the blood from her body. After finishing her shower her son Phonoi appeared just as Eris was getting dressed. Listening to his news about a dinner happening on Mount Olympus clicking her tongue at the news she received. "So...they must have forgotten who started the Trojan War...well it's only fair that I give them a refresher on who they are dealing with..." With a snap of her fingers, her Olympian garments appeared on her body. Looking at her son Phonoi she thanked him before walking over to her full-length mirror. Waving her hand over the reflective glass the reflection of herself was transformed into a hallway in Mount Olympus. "Play nice you two...mommy will be home late..." Stepping through the mirror she was welcomed with nothing. She wasn't expecting to be welcomed at all since she was never invited to the event in the first place. Sighing she fluffed her hair up a bit and checked to make sure her makeup was in mint condition if she was going to make a grand entrance she definitely made sure she looked gorgeous doing so. "Let the chaos begin~" She smirked while making her way to the large hall.
Humming to herself she walked passed beautiful golden flowers and plants displayed grandly through the halls and just like that they were wilted and decaying due to her presence. The smile never left her face as she was faced with the grand golden door to the main hall in Olympus. With a snap of her fingers, her shadow tendrils expanded from her high heels busting the doors open the bright golden lights being engulfed in darkness. Appearing in the middle of the grand hall she clapped her hands as her shadow tendrils retreated back into the unknown.
"Well well well...this is de Ja Vu...you know with all of you being powerful Gods and Goddesses...you're fools...imbeciles...idiots..." She looks at every single God and Goddess in the room before placing one foot in front of the other hips swaying as she was walking over to the center of the floor. "Do we really want to re-live the Trojan War again it seems all the important people are here...right Athena? Aphrodite?...Hera?" She smirked before snapping her fingers once more a crisp golden apple appearing in her hand. "Oh! What do we have here ladies...the one thing that sent all three of you in a frenzy over power...who made you all idiots...and why was that? Because you didn't invite me to the wedding...let's try that again shall we?" She tossed the apple in front of all three of the Goddesses. "Go on...act like stray dogs fighting over a piece of meat...put on a show for everyone and cause another war!" She was about to leave before turning back around one more time. "Oh and one more thing...I'm not upset that I wasn't invited to this shitshow...I'm just doing what I do best...cause chaos and enjoy destruction so please...feel uncomfortable in my presence I enjoy it..." Laughing manically she turned back around seeing her father, grabbing a glass of wine she walked over to him downing the drink and tossing the glass on the ground hearing it shatter into pieces. "Father...fancy seeing you here...or is the void bored without mother being there? Should I come home? You look like you could just die in that place...that might not be such a bad idea" She enjoyed teasing her father.

"bellona, roman goddess of war, bloodlust, and destruction"

If not for the calm voice of her conscious warning her against such decisive action, Bellona would have strangled the damn servant by now.

The man in question, one of her Bellonarii, was not particularly attuned to this kind of work--he was a priest--but not even Bellona's most beloved attendants were shielded from the war goddess' ire, especially in such a time as now; tensions ran high, caught amidst the brutal war that had yet to end.

Sighing heavily, Bellona grabbed her mirror, glancing into it with intrigue. She still hadn't decided on her apparel for the banquet. "No, Virtus, I need not require a blood sacrifice. My power is perfectly adept as of late." She flicked her wrist and the gleaming bracelets jangled. "Now, off with you, I must prepare for tonight." It was only with the bow of Virtus' head and the gentle thud of the ornate doors closing that she allowed herself to sink back into her seat.

Typically, the mistress was dressed by her maidens, but Bellona had never been typical in the ways of a goddess. She had always thought that, if she wanted something to be done her way, she would have to do it herself. And that was the motto she had stuck by her entire, relatively-short life. Bellona stood up abruptly and let her robe slip off onto the cold, stone ground of her villa. I'll get that later, she thought to herself. Choosing what to wear was always particularly difficult for her--at least when she wasn't permitted to attend in her armor--but she eventually decided on an aquamarine stola and a white tunica intima. Blue is a calming color, yes? We'll need all the tranquility we can get.

Her hair was considerably harder to do on her lonesome, but it was manageable with time. Clamping three delicate hairpins with her teeth, Bellona twisted her long, brown locks in an elegant twist. She eyed it appreciatively in the mirror before grabbing a golden chain and twisting it into the bun. There we are.

It was not like her to put so much extra thought into what she wore, but this night was incredibly important; not just to her, but to the fate of gods and humans alike. The warring factions of Zeus and Hades had persisted for centuries and so, so many had died. Of course, Bellona knew that all war came at a cost--it was her domain, after all--but the bloodshed wasn't what upset her; it was the topic of the conflict.

Hades had seemingly always wanted to do away with humanity and, to no surprise, many gods were against that notion, seeing as humans were their main supporters. The attendants at the flames of Rome, the generals who led battles across the earth, the priests that sacrificed their lives and their materials for the well-being of their godly overseers. Bellona loved war, yes, but she certainly didn't want to remove of an entire species, nor did she want to cause such strife between her family.

Therefore, the banquet of tonight, hosted by Bellona herself, was to remain untouched by vile attitudes and deeds. It was of the utmost importance that this night went well. She could not afford to mess this up.

---

The ride to the banquet was silent. Her servants, placed on the back seat of her chariot, knew that tempting the goddess of war was risky business. Bellona's eyes shifted slightly to take in the appearance of their destination. This was Mount Olympus, she knew it would be fancy, but the planners had really gone all out. Must be Athena's doing, she thought as she was helped out of the chariot. The Greek goddess of war, wisdom, and art had always had an eye for such activities.

Her dark eyes scanned the room as she entered. Large sums of gods, creatures, and more were milling about, socializing, and enjoying the festivities. Bellona smiled slightly, maybe this won't be so bad after all.

However, her smile slipped at the sight residing by the thrones of the Greek gods. It seems that Athena and Ares are already causing trouble. Nodding her head at anyone that stopped by, Bellona quickly made her way up to the thrones, subconsciously tucking a stray hair behind her ear. She had the right mind to be wary of these gods, as they were much older than she. Luckily, the other war gods were flanked by Ami and Zena, both of whom she addressed kindly with a shake of her head.

Bowing at the waist, Bellona once again let a small, polite smile grace her face. "Perhaps we could put the knife down, Ares? Gore and such is fun, but there are times where it is appropriate." Her face slowly morphed into something a bit more sinister when looking at the leader of Hades' support. "And this is certainly not one of those times." Multiple gods around the hall were already causing a commotion, mainly Erebus and Eris, but Bellona's focus was entirely on the siblings right in front of her.

Persephone
Kore
cd17211cf38d6b4e7c2054b1fe450d83_w200.gif
The Goddess of Spring opened her eyes and awakened to darkness--and wished she hadn't. Persephone stared numbly up at the ceiling of the massive bedroom, the quietness of the room matching the stillness of her heart. She blinked at the ceiling, slowly, her hand moving from under her pillow to rest on top of her stomach, where all she could feel was emptiness, wishing she could feel something, anything, but the bitter numbness that had tore a hole in her. Persephone glanced beside her, to the empty spot on the bed beside her and let out a long, sad sigh, as if torn for the depths of her soul. She missed him, missed his face, his eyes, running her hands through his hair. She missed his embracing darkness and the comfort of it. Years ago she had lost Hades, but it only felt like days--and today felt no different, nor had any other day since Zeus had killed him. It was only the smallest comfort that Zeus had died as well. Since his death, she had only tended to the Underworld. Both the weight of Hades and her own roles falling upon her shoulders. She hadn't left the Underworld since his death, leaving it to Demeter to take care of spring--not that she could've tended to it if she wanted. There was no life in her to give. Immortality felt meaningless, as did time, and other things she onced loved to do. She should get up, she knew. Today especially, but lacked the strength and the will to the longer she stared at the empty spot beside her.

Persephone reached out and ran her fingers over the black, satin sheet of the pillow beside her head, where his head had once lain beside hers, and felt her breath hitch as another wave of pain hit her, a tear leaking from her ice-blue eye, "I miss you," she whispered to the empty room, her chest concaving in pain as she succumbed to another round of sobs. She cried quietly, for hours until she had no water to spare. Until the time had come, to leave the Underworld, if only for awhile.

Hours later, Persephone slid out of bed, swinging her legs over the side of bed, her bare feet touching the cold stone floor as she stood up and padded across the floor, stopping in front of a large, dark oak wardrobe and opening it wide, displaying a collection of varying dresses, mostly dark colors with some pastel like colors. Her eyes scanned the wardrobe, resting on a white, Olympian-like dress adorned with pink petals . Perhaps, she thought, the pink colors would disguise her red ringed eyes as makeup to match instead. With this false comfort in mind, she slipped on the dress before allowing the servants in to do her hair, wrapping it up in a elaborate, mostly half up-half down hairstyle.

Afterwards, Persephone departed the Uunderworld, leaving in the same black chariot that she'd first entered the Underworld in. Ironic, she thought to herself as they rode for their destination, that she had once entered into the chariot uneagerly, fearful to enter the Underworld, and was now leaving in the same chariot, wanting nothing more than to return to the Underworld. She knew who and what awaited her at this meaning--and was not looking forward to it. Other than the allies she knew would be attending, it was hard for her, knowing one day she'd have to pick a side, and loose a great deal of them in the process. Unless tonights meeting went well, which she doubted it would, knowing Ares was gonna be there. Persephone scowled at the thought of the him, feeling the familar unpleasant feeling of hate swell in her heart—and suddenly she smiled, just a small, subtle turn of her lips. Because at least it was a feeling. Which was something other than the numbness that had been with her for ages. Perhaps...that would be the emotion she could grasp tonight.

It was nearly dark when she arrived to Mount Olympus, stepping out of the chariot quietly, stopping a fair distance from the meeting, where she could hear the faint voice of others carrying on the wind. She could detect a few. Eris and Erebus mainly, which made her smile slightly. Persephone glanced up at the sky, thinking and preparing herself for what was to come—wondering if she’d have to chose a side tonight. Wondering if there wouldn’t be any sides at all after tonight. Her thoughts of concentration were broken at the sound of something heavy padding slowly behind her, the sound of grass being flattened and moved drawing her attention, and she glanced behind her, smiling smally at the sight. “There you are,” she breathed, relieved. If she had to leave the Underworld for this meeting—then she’d just have to bring a little piece of the Underworld with her. And though she was more than capable of defending herself, when it came to the other Gods and Godesses in the room, a little extra intimidation and protection couldn’t hurt.

Cerberus’s massive black paws flattened the grass beneath him as he calmly approached her, towering over her by three times her height, his three massive canine heads watching regarding her with a rather curious gaze as he sat beside her, his serphant tail curling around him. He missed Hades as much as she, which perhaps had been the thing that strengthend their bond, but she loved the Guardian of the Underworld gates as she would either pet, despite his massive size. Persephone leaned against him, his black fur warming her as she closed her eyes, still partially swollen from the sob fest she’d succumed to. They stayed like this for minutes until she finally straightened up, brushing the massive strands of dog hair from her clothing before she turned towards the direction of the stairs, sighing wearily in anticipation.

Persephone quietly approached the entrance to the meeting table, ascending the few steps into the building with Cerberus a few paces behind, towering over her, looking far more intimidating then the frail, beautiful goddess adorned in petals.

Persephone walked into the room without making eye-contact with a single soul, “sorry I’m late,” she said in a empty, monotone voice, honing her blue-eyed, hollow, red-rimmed gaze in on Hades former throne, her heart swelling in anguish as she slowly lowered herself and gracefully took a seat in the throne. She looked...empty and apathetic in the throne that was big enough to make her look smaller than she was, though Cerberus made up for this small weakness by looking intimidatingly massive next to her, his three heads surveying the room, regarding her friends with a cool, knowing gaze before resting on Ares, briefly baring his dripping, giant, sharp, canine-teeth and letting out a low growl in his direction. Persephone herself still managed to look pretty, despite looking like she’d been crying hours before—and having no emotion on her face whatsoever. She refused to look at anyone, keeping her gaze locked on her folded hands resting on the table.

She just wanted to get tonight over with.

。[/div][/div] [div class=vesuImageOut][div class=vesuImage][/div][/div] [/div] [div class=vesuRight][div class=vesuText][div class=vesuScroll] The event had barely even begun, and things were already beginning to fall apart.

Was it a surprise? No, not in the very least. Was it looking to be entertaining? Well, Ares would give it a few minutes more, but in the end, he knew the answer to that; and if he were being frank, he was expecting more from his sister. She was losing her diplomatic touch as much as she was losing the war, after all.

The first form of entertainment came in the form of a tiny, childlike figure that Ares knew to be the goddess of innocence, Ami. She was a miniature, fragile creature, with skin as pale as the winter snow, and eyes as blue as robins' eggs. Her hair was wispy changeable, bearing all the colours of the rainbow. Ares had known her to be quite naive and gullible and tonight, she was no different; she wandered in eyes wide with wonder and hope, childish glee and laughter written on her soft features. Instantly Ares felt the gentle yet firm probe of her innocent aura trying to slip it's way into his hardened heart, in an effort to soften and dampen the tides of his violent and brutal nature, but with no success; the walls were just too thick, too well-structured, too strong.

As always, Ami was followed in by a flustered-looking knight acting as a nanny of sorts. Ares couldn't help but smirk slightly at the paradoxically ancient yet young goddess' words. How could a being so old yet so young be this ignorant? Granted, there were times where the young deity's childlike trust in the world would amuse the war god, but there were times where the act would irk him to the point of anger, tempting him to just stick a dagger in the child's throat to teach her a lesson in the harsh and cruel truth of reality. It bemused him further that Ami had the childlike boldness to confront him like that, considering the fact that with every passing moon, she was getting weaker and weaker in power and influence as hundreds upon hundreds of mortals were surrendering their innocence to convert into brutal killing machines in honour of Ares. There was obviously a political reason to this, but it was no matter. Ares merely nodded in her direction, his eyes catching the sight of a creature, a dragonness enter the scene, nudging Ami in friendly greeting. Ares remembered this creature to be Zena, a powerful dragon with powers rumoured to control the weather, as well as a strong sympathizer to mortals. Ares kept his cold gaze on her, knowing that the creature acknowledged the tension and inevitable conflict hanging in the air as much as he did.

However, a sharp electricyfing momentary pain shook Ares out of his train of observation, effectively knocking the knife he had against Athena's throat out of his grip. He clenched his jaw, his gaze swiveling across the room to catch the culprit. He met the tenebrous, disapproving eyes of Erebus, who shook his finger reproachfully, as if to say 'too soon'. Ares gritted his teeth, disasteful of the idea that Erebus of all gods would have the audacity to discipline him, but Ares accepted it anyway, regardless of his pride. Erebus was a shady figure, a man as hard to read as it was to see in his shadows, and back in the beginning of the war, Ares for a fact had spent many a day trying to convince Erebus to join his side, with little success. To this day, despite many open assists, nothing seemed to be working; Ares sensed that the primordial god had no real intentions of joining the fight. He was too old and too done to be interested in the trivial matters of much younger deities. However, it seemed the old-timer had not lost his sense of a good time as he began to speak, making a playful remark on politics ruining the prospects of a perfectly good night. Ares felt a twinge of annoyance, irked that Erebus was trying to prevent a perfect opportunity to spark violence and brutality, which were Ares' bread and butter.
But once again, it was no matter; Ares put on a charming smile and played along, lifting a cup of ambrosian wine that he snatched from a servent's wine tray to his lips and proceeded to walk away from the throne to take a less conspicuous spot against a marble pillar, enjoying the rest of his wine as well as the party.

Thanks to Erebus, things started to calm down, but unfortunately, the good spirits were rudely interrupted only moments later, as the majestic doors burst open in a show of golden light against the darkness of the night, followed by a series of slow clapping. Ares straightened slightly, his interest piqued as a voluptuous figure made it's way to the center of the area.

Eris.

Ares' jaw clenched slightly, his grip tightening over his cup as he watched the scene, or more accurately, watched Eris, dressed sexily in a navy purple dress, adorned in sparkling jewellry as well. Any casual observer would only see an expression of pure neutrality on Ares' face, but once examined closely, one would see what was lurking beneath; disdain mixed in with desire, however, one could not choose which one to be the most.
Eris was a chaotic piece of work, as demonstrated by the disruptive entrance and speech; she complicated the lives of mortals as well as immortals by her ability to cause chaos, and Ares was no different. A simple mind would not be able to exactly tell what the relationship between the war god and goddess of chaos was; part lover, part enemy, part ally, and whatever was in between. Eris was as much of a paradox as Ares was; simple in principle, yet much more complicated once applied in real life. They both had their own desires and reasons when it came to sex; Ares was a warlord after all, and his desire was to conquer whatever there was to conquer, and Eris was there to fulfill his need when the need arose. But Eris had her own game in play; she knew how to play men on both sides of the mortal and immortal spectrum, and so she knew how to keep Ares around her calculating little pinky finger when the need arose. She was a vixen, a thorn that Ares couldn't help but prick his finger on, and it infuriated yet enthralled the warlord in ways even he could not understand.

Tonight, it happened to infuriate him; he and Eris had gotten into a fight not too ago, and were not on good terms; he was sick and tired of the mind games and the manipulation on her part, but it was only a matter of time before she'd have him wrapped around her finger once more. However, for now, Ares would relish in his anger and sulk in his desire as he was now, watching Eris flaunt and taunt her audience and retreat to the back once more, cup of wine in hand, next to her father. Ares was tempted to go to her, and as a result, began walking across the room before being confronted by none other but Bellona, a lesser goddess of war.

A flicker of disdain crossed his expression for a moment as he faced Bellona, but the expression melted off as he replaced it with a carefully pleasant and bewitching smile as Bellona just as carefully warned him about the situation with Athena and the knife. Ares did not fail to catch the sinister look on her face as she said it, the underlying threat of violence just beneath the pleasantry.

"Certainly," he agreed, his cold eyes still on the war goddess. He took her hand in a rough and iron grip, the charming, debonair smile still gracing his features as he lifted her hand to his lips and kissed it lightly as a sign of obvious fake good will in contrast to the death grip he had on her hand. "Of course, had this been any other time.." he let the sentence trail off, a gleam of impish malevolence in his greyish blue eyes, knowing she would catch the significance of the statement. He then let go of her hand just as roughly as he had grabbed it and brushed past her, off to get another glass of wine. With enough luck, he would get drunk to the point of no return and then the real fun would begin.

Just as the warlord snatched the fourth (or was it fifth?) glass of wine that evening, his eye caught a particular person of interest sitting on what was one the throne of Hades, though tonight, that seat was occupied by someone vastly more attractive; Persephone, the lady to the defunct lord of the Underworld, making her his widow.
Seeing her almost made Ares double back a moment, blinking the shock away. Persephone rarely ever left her domain in the Underworld, succumbed almost entirely by the grief of losing her husband. Despite her trials, she still managed to look as pretty as a picture; her soft, silky ginger hair was styled elegantly in a half-up, half-down hairdo, and the cream peach dress with red and brown accents were pleasing to the eye, almost to the point where the war god couldn't help but stare. His long gaze caught the attention of Persephone's guardian, Cerberus, and gained him nothing but bared teeth and snarls by all three heads. Ares smirked slightly, not intimidated in the slightest, but commended the canine on it's efforts all the same.

Ares took a sip of his wine, secretly eyeing the goddess from afar, his gaze calculating and analytical. Persephone was, in a sense, like Erebus; they shared a neutral sentiment for the ongoing war - the only difference was, Erebus was there for the entertainment, but Persephone on the other hand, couldn't be bothered by a single element of the fight at all. And to any casual observer, this would be understandable; the female deity was still in deep turmoil after the passing of her husband; the last thing she would want was more heartache, more stress.

But Ares saw it a different way; Persephone, or Kore, as he had come to know her throughout the decades, just needed something to fight for; she needed a reason again, a cause to make her stand up again and brush away the bothersome sentiments of grief and loneliness. Ares had left Kore well enough alone for the better part of the war, leaving her to fester in her loneliness and grief. Up until now, that is.

Ares had left only to come and reap what he had sown once she was ripe for the picking. She was in desperate need of a companion, of a support, a pillar to stand on in order to regain her own standing in the world once more, and it was through cruel compassion that Ares would be able to use Kore and her vast power to further aid him.

With this plan in mind, Ares approached Persephone, a second cup in hand as he made his way to her. To no one's surprise, Cerberus began to growl and snarl, but Ares took care of it, using his ability to manipulate and control emotion to lower the canine's hostility to a level close to zero, making it almost completely docile and he approached. Ares placed the cup gently on the table in front of Persephone, even going as far as to bow, as a seemingly genuine sign of respect and goodwill. "Kore," he started, using her nickname as a friendly endearment, his voice low. "I must say, it's a pleasant surprise to see you at last," A roguish smile dawned his features slightly as he continued. "A remark that I usually don't give lightly to most here, of course."

Persephone
Kore
sansablood-1428590820.gif
Persephone had been staring blankly at the too-white table cloth, finding herself slightly annoyed. Perhaps she’d gotten too used to the dark, gloomy Underworld, but she found the prefect, glamorous decorations no longer excited her as they used to. She sulked bitterly at the thought when Cerberus began to growl beside her, though she didn’t care to life her gaze to see who he was growling at—most likely Ares again, Cerberus was clever enough to know her enemies. Persephone zoned off blankly once more, staring at the pure-white cloth and letting her mind wander, barely registering that Cerberus had stopped growling.

Movement drew her out of her daze as a intricately decorated cup was set lightly in front of her, and Persephone slowly angled her head up, beholding Ares bow in front of her. She gave him a blank, deadpan stare in return. What, pray tell, could he want? He’d left her well enough alone before, and despite his loyalty to Hades, she knew who he was, what he was. It wasn’t as if she ever heard of anything good regarding Ares. She’d hoped it was all he had come to do, and found herself somehow more disappointed but also slightly curious as he drawled out her name with an endearing tone behind it.

Her nickname—as if they were friendly acquaintances. Persephone straightened up in the too-large throne, her expression turning wary as she gave him a more thorough look over with certain cautiousness, looking him over from head to toe. She didn’t see any weapons adorning his handsome figure, so what was his game? His formal-like attire for the evening suited him nicely, accentuating his broad, practically perfect, chiseled athletic form. No, she wasn’t very fond of him at all, but she certainly wasn’t blind to the fact that his handsome facial features were bound to have women throwing themselves at his feet, or that his dark, mischevious aura had a certain allure to it.

Ares looked pleasantly friendly as he claimed he was glad for her presecence, though she was less sure, and she briefly wondered if he was pitying her in some strange way—to come out of his way—the God of Wars, way. His lips quirked into a roguish smile just then, and she blinked. Oh my. And it took her a moment to realize his last words to her.

Hesitantly, Persephone reached for the glass he’d delivered to her, eyeing him as she did so, her expression wary, “Yes,” she said slowly as she dragged her cup in front of her, “though I also hear most here aren’t particularly fond of your company,” she put rather bluntly, though her beautiful, honey-laced voice was not as much unkind as suspicious. Slowly she lifted the glass to her lips, tilting it so only a bit of the wine graced her tongue before setting the glass back down, trying not to scowl as she swallowed the bitter liquid, she wasn’t much of a drinker in all honesty.

In truth, she didn’t know what to make of Ares currently, one minute he was rude, another he was pleasant. Her cautious gaze watching him intently, deciding she would let him do the talking for now.

Ami clapped excitedly as more and more guests filled the halls. she ran over to the entrance when Eris arrived, jumping up and down unrealistically high as though gravity itself, feared pulling too hard on her in case she get hurt. "oh oh oh oh Eris, hi I am so glad you have come! it will be sure to be a fun event with you here." she sang happily, before bouncing to the next person. "oh...umm, I do not remember you?" she said running to the decrepit old man, whom she had met many times but can never seem to remember exists. "I am glad you are here mister!" she then turns and leaps up to hug the dragon, who is soft, and finally makes it back to Persephone, whom she saved for last for a reason. "hello, miss queen of the underworld, can I pet your dog..or is it dogs? I hear that he is vary soft. well I don't hear that because no one who has ever touched Cerberus other then you and mister Hades have ever lived to tell anyone and I don't know where mister Hades is, but anyways, can I pet your dogs?" she says this while inching closer and closer to Cerberus with every word out of her mouth.

Just after his small show of enjoyment a loud thud echoed through the hall and the flickering candles momentarily dispersed. Before turning to see the culprit Erebus knew who it was. There is only one other immortal who taps into his powers in such a way. “Ah. My ferociously dazzling daughter.” He spoke to himself as it warmed his heart to see his mischievous daughter make her grand appearance at the banquet. She has always shared his love for entertainment, though she takes more pleasure in being a direct part of it, they've had a push and pull relationship due to this similarity.

Very appropriately, Eris came in to add even more fuel to the fun that would ensue tonight and Erebus practically became giddy with excitement. Things just got infinitely better! Watching his daughter finish her thrilling performance with her signature laugh he lightly clapped and smiled at her as she walked over. He chuckled at her teasing him and poured her another glass of wine from the bottle he held. “My beloved daughter. Your turbulence is always satisfying. You know I couldn't pass up the chance to see the chaos tonight would bring so I invited myself. Besides, your mother is busy gracing the globe with her presence and I needed something to keep me occupied.” He shrugged playfully and took a sip from his wine bottle and smirked. He nodded toward the apple, “It seems they have yet to learn their lesson about misplacing your invitations. Shameful really but they'll learn eventually.” He jokingly rested his hand on his chest as he teased back at her. “You actually just spared me from perishing from boredom with your show of brilliance so I regret to inform you my death will wait for another eternity.” He let out a hardy laugh at the fun he was having. “You could always visit home just to make sure your powerful father does not run the risk of death from boredom as well. Unless you want to attempt to rush the process and challenge me again?”

In complete contrast to Eris' entrance, the doors let in the somber goddess of spring, Kore. Her appearance is always stunning, even through her grieving, but Erebus was not sure if he was more shocked to see her leave the underworld or that she had brought Cereberus with her. Being neighbors and both having no interest on picking sides in this war has strengthened their friendship over the millennium and it was very clear that Kore had not wanted to leave the comfort of her home. He spent the time consoling the widow and doing his best to assist her with things he could. Now he could see that she made a considerable effort to force herself out of the underworld to represent her late husband, an admirable feat, and Erebus would be lying if he wasn't slightly concerned. He was about to turn to Eris to say something when he paused, seeing Ares have the gall to approach Kore after so recently trying to attack his sister. He let out a sigh as he watched Ares reach Kore and say something to her. “That's a volatile interaction, don't you think?” The question was mostly rhetorical but not knowing Eris' thoughts on the situation, he was genuinely curious how she felt about his long time friend, Kore. Eris had joined Ares on the battlefield before, that was known, so surely she had an idea that the interaction between the new head of the faction speaking to the widow of the former leader would be treacherous.

While waiting for a response, Ami paraded over in some manner that was essentially like galloping at a high speed via frolicking skips. Erebus was not entirely sure how she managed this but he was more annoyed that she was coming near him. Ami has problems with darkness and therefore with his whole existence and he does not take kindly to the naivety of the goddess, even if it is quite literally her essence of life. He rolled his eyes as she practically cheered at high pitch about how she was happy Eris arrived. What about me?! Definitely not the time to be jealous but he was offended and could crush her if he wanted. His daughter being more popular than him? That's disgrace to any father. He did agree that Eris would bring fun to the event, as she always does, and he had already pointed that out. He clicked his tongue as the goddess frolicked away and made her rounds, only to end up next to Kore as well.

“I'm not entirely sure what's going on but I think I will wait a few moments to see what happens. I shouldn't interfere too much, unless I'm asked to. In which case, I will happily oblige. Maybe the child goddess will get eaten by Cerberus. That would make things quite lively and amusing.” He was mainly talking to himself at this point but he was sure Eris would find some interest in his comment. Keeping an eye on the small group he continued to sip his wine and waited for the eventual start of the meeting they had all gathered to attend.

with more deities showing up scrane looked up from his tomb particularly annoyed with them as was his custom the first to arrive was areas, scrane found the child to be just annoying while yes he did provide a steady stream of work, the deity had no respect for his elders not that it was important to scrane since he didn't like zeus to begin with, next to arrive was zena scrane had nothing to say about the dragon the old deity had a particular fondness for the creature. and surprise surprise Erebus had shown up...great that man was utterly useless prancing around in a dark little relam like he owns the place not doing anything important whatsoever, and of course his stupid daughter had to show up eris the little chaotic child that messed up everything for scrane it was a personal grip, he liked his inevitable certainty and SHE tended to ruin it all. though his train of thought was distracted by a shadow creature greeting him

"yes yes, my brother is not in the best form as of late" he said in a very dismissive tone

then there was Persephone, the poor poor woman she had lost her husband to a silly little skirmish with zeus, she was still grieving her lose, eventually she would get over it....time heals all wounds after all, but death it was a lingering thing that simply would not go away...this rung true even for deities. again his thoughts were distracted by another thing assuming it was the same shadow minion he looked at it dismissively only to realize it was ami, the childish goddess was a good friend of his brother often visiting him, and both of them creating creatures that...really shouldn't exist, although she never seemed to remember scrane ever existed it didn't bother him to much although reminding her every time go a little annoying "im scrane little one....you know my brother zeran i do believe." though after saying that ares antict and annoyed scrane enough for his patients to finally wear down enough, he inhaled deeply before staring on his long rambling rant.

"you know back when i was young most disputes between gods were settled by hmmm... well i can't exactly remember the name but it was some being that did it anyway, that besides the point look what's happening here, from what i see here, is a child with anger issues that can't seem to get over the fact his dear old father disliked him, a girl that couldn't help herself but kill someone before showing up here yes i know about that you expect me not to? a grieving widow that, seems like she would prefer not to be here" he stopped his golden eyes locking onto Erebus "and you, should be ashamed of yourself showing up simply to watch everything fall apart and toying with a room full of children i would expect a god of your age to know far far better, i don't expect anything to improve with any of you right now you already managed to test my limitless patients" the words held no anger only a ancient disapproval that transcended anger that feeling of dread invoked by old men and fathers alike. the noise was only made worse by the calls of at least hundred reapers that had followed scrane now all floating through the wall behind him into the room like angry pets trying to protect their master.

Zena's eyes cast about the room, already much had occurred and the already fragile buzz of the congregation seemed to wilt as impending chaos clung in the air. Firstly, her gaze fell to Eris and Erebus, Eris' frame reeked of pure seductiveness and spite. Zena never had much occasion to converse with the goddess, having never settled upon acquaintance. It would be interesting to see what sort of a role Eris would fulfil in evening, for surely something was to occur. Erebus caught her attention, and she nodded in friendly greeting, having had the pleasure of working alongside Erebus as she did with the other deities many times before. *I shall speak with him later* her thoughts circulated.

She had also spotted Bellona, whom she had so eagerly anticipated to arrive moments before. She shifted a little to the side to initiate a distanced greeting with the war goddess, admiring her rich apparel and style. Once she caught the goddess' attention, she whisked her tail upwards, waving it a little and nodding her head, suppressing an urge of both relief and excitement to see Bellona attend. She had always enjoyed watching the goddess train, and had no idea if she would actually consider attending.

Her attentions mainly shifted to Persephone, her great three headed guard companion sat eagerly behind her. *She looks so changed* there was something in the deity's countenance as her eyes met with Ares' at the table that strummed upon the dragon's own heart strings. She had already felt inclined to watch over her friend in wariness concerning her husband, but she knew that there was a deep genuineness of connection between the two that no mortal, god or creature could question. The dragon had always been an empathetic creature of sorts, and felt in necessary to converse with Persephone at some point during the evening.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Upon impulse, Zena hurriedly bowed her head towards Athena, who appeared tense and perturbed by her brother's *calculated* arrival, "Your highness," Zena continued. The dragon's lips did not move as she spoke, and yet the voice was clearly audible, as if originating from within the creature herself, her eyes in submissive communication too. Her voice was rich, somewhat regal, with a calmness that only the dragon could embody in that moment, "please, if you need anything, you may rely on my services tonight.”
With that, she turned upon her heels, leaving Athena, towards the banqueting table where Persephone was sat in close following of little Ami who advanced towards the three headed dog, with Ares positioned comfortably beside the Spring Goddess, *deliberately no doubt*, the dragon pondered. Cereberus, upon seeing Zena, retreated from his position directly behind the throne, still keeping a careful distance. All the creatures in the realm knew of and understood Zena's power and interaction with the mortal realm, but she maintained a mutual respect in her desire to keep the peace wherever she could when it came to the realm of the gods.
The dragon crept up behind Persephone, in sight of Ares as she approached, sinking her neck downwards. The dragon's voice penetrated their conversation, leaving the other guests somewhat in surprise but not knowing of Zena's intention, they simply dismissed it as her usual friendly greeting. Her voice, or 'inner voice' could be heard by all "Your highnesses! Forgive the disruption, but I felt the need to welcome you both." She released a cool exhale of breath upon the goddess' temple so as not to frighten her, before resting her large head upon her shoulder. The dragon's cheek brushed against Persephone's and remained there; she hoped that the goddess would realise some glimpse of comfort in the dragon's presence and proximity. Out of the initial silence, amidst the bustle and clinking of cutlery around them, Zena's voice seemed to appear only to Persephone's , as if it spoke to her being alone, and no one else could hear it. *"....dearest Kore. Remember that I am here...."
She did not only communicate with the Goddess of Spring in that moment though. Throughout her interaction with Kore, her eyes remained utterly concentrated with Ares - her eyes locking with his in a deep, almost trance-like stare. She understood something-it was without doubt that it was contrived, this interaction with Kore, but for reasons she did not know. It was as if she could see directly into him, as she glared at him whilst remaining upon the goddess' shoulder. As she communicated with Kore, amazingly her voice also spoke separately to Ares, and to him alone. She had no notion of how he would react, only that she was overcome by an impulsive fearlessness which presented itself in plain, simple advice. Never before had she outrightly stood against, even....threatened a god.
*Ares...if your performance tonight matches that of the intent in your heart which I can perceive, blackened and destructive, you shall rue the evening you set foot upon this threshold. Mark my words, and choose wisely.*
It took a great effort to vex or anger her, as others well knew, which only strengthened the intensity of her message. She hoped Ares, as quick-witted as he was, would indeed choose wisely. Onlookers standing by could only see what appeared to be Zena staring into his face, only they didnt know that she communicated with him alone. Perhaps a few could wonder if that is what she did, but many presumed it not to be the case.
Her address with Kore was genuine, and carried a form of....love. She would not bear to see her friend hurt any more than could be helped....
Zena did not break her eye contact with Ares as she retracted her position from Kore's shoulder, and her voice could be heard by those around her again. "I shall disrupt you both no longer!". With that, the dragon nodded, giving one final glance towards Ares, and stood a little distance away, watching the activity of the gathering...
and anticipating something to happen.
。[/div][/div] [div class=vesuImageOut][div class=vesuImage][/div][/div] [/div] [div class=vesuRight][div class=vesuText][div class=vesuScroll] Ares smirked slightly, watching with a small sense of satisfaction as Persephone accepted the glass of wine he had put down for her. He was not blind however to the prudent gleam in her alluringly pale blue eyes, eyeing him cautiously. He could almost see the gears in her head turning, trying to determine whether to trust the man in front of them, trying to decipher his intentions. And of course, the war god could expect no less; despite her disheveled state of mind, Kore was certainly no fool. She was a powerful goddess, the Queen of one of the biggest, most influential realms known to both mortals and immortals: the Underworld. Ares could almost taste the victory now; losing Hades over a millennia ago was definitely an enormous set back, but if the war deity could woo his queen into the fight, then Athena could kiss her ambitions and sorry tries at diplomacy altogether goodbye.
But he was getting ahead of himself - nothing was for sure, and Ares could only rely on the facts that were presented to him in the moment. Persephone was a grieving mess (despite managing to still retain all the grace and elegance of a queen), and she did not trust him. Granted, almost no one ever did, or could; and Kore's following bluntly-put words only served to strengthen his observations. Her words pricked him to a certain degree; words like those always have. Ever since he was a child on Mount Olympus, words like those had always bothered him, no matter the denial. The constant rumours, the constant gossip, the slander and distrust permanently etched to his name and what he stood for. It was an unpleasant way to grow up, surrounded by immortals who treated him as if he were the godly version of the plague, an evil curse to be avoided. And as he grew older and more powerful, the superstitious mistrust turned into superstitious fear, known to both mortal and god. He was no longer a delinquent child god with a temper that all the schoolchildren hated; he was a formidable and mighty god, a powerful force to be reckoned with. A god that could destroy entire civilizations through the brutal art of war and battle, inspiring thousands to take up arms and kill in order to give him life.
But it was no matter. Ares brushed it off as soon as it had come, an easy, charming smile gracing his lips though his eyes stayed cold. He shrugged, a small chuckle escaping as he straightened and proceeded to lean on the table that separated the deities, arms apart and hands knitted together, and of course inevitably closer to the Queen than before.
"Ah, well," he started modestly, the radiant smile still on his lips as he looked away for a moment. "I cannot deny the fact that at times, I'm not exactly the most pleasant of companies, but," he paused, glancing back at her, shrugging, straightening once more. "Rumours will be rumours. I hope that seeing as you are present tonight, I might be able to change that-"
Before the war god could finish, Ami burst into the scene like any happy child avid to see her elders, eagerly asking permission to pet Cerberus. Ares glared daggers into the girl, the temptation and temper to strangle her rising within him. A few moments had not even passed when Ares heard another voice from not too far, though of course not directly spoken to him - Scrane, a wizened old fool who never knew when to keep his mouth shut, otherwise known as the god of death. Ares gritted his teeth as he caught the old god's calling the war god as nothing more than a 'child with anger issues' as well as what seemed to be severe daddy issues. Ares felt an unusually sharp pang at the truth of that, startling him for a moment. Then the anger came not a second later, and the warlord felt the powerful desire to fly a flaming fireball at the old geezer for daring to disrespect him in such a way, especially when the god himself was in earshot, and more importantly, Persephone. But before he could say a word or make a move, another entity slithered into the conversation.
Zena.
Her voice was not one that could be heard by any conventional means - her lips did not move as she spoke; rather, her voice was more an inner one, and only those who she intended to speak to could hear it. Her tone was friendly enough at first, but Ares could sense the hostility brimming under the gleaming scales, and he immediately knew this was nothing more than the dragon's petty attempt at trying to ward him away from Kore.
Ares watched as Zena wound her way towards Persephone, coiling herself around the throne and rested her elegant head on the shoulder of the Queen, as if she were nothing more than one of Persephone's Underworld animal companions. As the warlord met the cold eyes of the serpent, he instantly heard Zena's message echoing in his mind, warning him in the exact fashion as he had predicted. However, towards the end, the dragon did something that Ares knew to be quite unusual for the typically non-confrontational weather serpent; she had the audacity to threaten him.
Ares nearly smiled out of disbelief, almost flattered at the notion. Had he become so powerful that even the slightest move had even the most peaceful creatures up in arms? Ares felt a small surge of pride, the idea a definite stroke to his ego. He didn't think he could be angry; in fact, the only one who seemed to be vexed at all was Zena, her nostrils flared in quiet hostility. Ares could almost laugh - he had to commend it to her; she had guts, making threats like that. If given the chance, Ares would tell her to make them actually effective next time, but he sensed that that would most likely never happen.
Having done what she had set out to do, Zena went back towards the party and Ares turned towards Persephone once more, intent on following up on his own ambitions, threats or no threats. He set down the cup he had had in his hand onto the table, acting as if nothing particular had happened in that exchange.
"As I was saying," he started just as charmingly, a princely grin on his handsome face. "I was hoping to change that - to prove those ill-assumed rumours and preconceptions wrong. In honour of your first societal appearance," He continued, his hand stretched out towards Persephone in an almost seductive way, that trademark roguish grin appearing on his face. "May I have this dance?"
Persephone
Kore
tumblr_nanq1qbxyW1qmgbv3o8_250.gif
Persephone watched his expression intently, observently at her words. Briefly, his handsome features seemed to darken, and it was during this time she wondered if he actually minded the horrid things people said about him,the violet reputation he had garnered. But then he gave her a charming, cool smile that didn’t at all meet his eyes, glazed over icily as he chuckled, and she swallowed. She supposed she should mind her tongue, he was far stronger than her as it was, but she realized she didn’t really care.She wasn’t scared at all, though she should be. She realized in that moment, she likely wouldn’t care if someone were to stab or kill her right then and there. It didn’t really matter anymore.
Persephone observer his careless smile as he spoke once more, before being suddenly interuppted by a young, polite voice, calling her attention. Kore looked at the source, her red-rimmed gaze landing on Ami, the goddess of innocence. Her mention of Hades caused Persephone’s expression to fall flat again as her emotions went from being wary to empty and numb, the familiar emptiness in her stomach knawing painfully at her. Worse yet, she called Cerberus, the guardian of the Underworld no less, a dog...or dogs. But deep down, Kore knew she meant well. She was simply naive. It was in her nature to be so. She remembered when she’d nearly been just as innocent as her. She missed it.
Kore abruptly stuck out a slender arm, putting interference between Cerberus and Ami, who had been coming closer to the guardian more and more. “Please don’t touch him,” Persephone spoke in her empty, flat voice, “He’s not good with strangers, and he’ll eat you.” Her deadpan expression matched her voice, devoid of emotion or care, though she had certainly been firm. The last thing she needed to deal with was Cerberus eating the innocent goddess. Before she could say anymore on the matter however, another voice piped up from the table, Scrane, whom jumped right into it with his pessimistic, typical grumpy tone.
Firstly he insulted Ares right off the bat, which caused Kore herself to briefly glance in the Gods direction, assessing his emotions as she watched his jaw clench. Questions arose in her. What, or who, really was Ares? Perhaps there was more to him than she thought. More than just the aspect of war. Perhaps she had judged to swiftly, only hearing the most spiteful things of him, which was usually in the form of a praise from her late husband. Briefly, she felt a faint pang if pity and guilt within her before numbness swiftly took its rightful place in her emotions. Next, Scrane seemed to call out everyone else, including her, though he was right. She didn’t want to be here at all. She missed the Underworld already. Her husbands world. Kore glanced down at her lap in quiet acknowledgement. Soon Scrane’s scolding speech finished, followed by his floating, reaper minions entering behind him, swarming around him. She didn’t however, want the meeting to go anymore sour in the case Scrane said something blunt enough to cause fighting.
“Scrane,” Kore said, her honey-sweet voice quiet and gentle, “Please.” She said, sounding slightly admonishing as she half implored half begged for him to cease the insults. Before she could say anymore however, a cool breath on her temple caused her to blink and glance over as a heavy weight rested upon her frail shoulder.
Zena.
Persephone lips turned up in a small, gentle smile. Briefly laying her head on the dragons as a show of thanks and appreciation for the comfort. It felt nice, her affection. The gratitude swelling in Kore nearly gave rise to her other emotions, her throat closing up as she held back her grief and straightened up once more. She wouldn’t cry here. Then, Zena’s warm voice echoed in her head, reminding her that she wasn’t alone. Kore swallowed and nodded at the dragon, blinking away her watery eyes before anyone could notice. Soon after, the dragon receded back towards the party, having offered her comfort. Persephone watched her go before swiveling her head back around to find Ares smiling another dazzling, charming smile, his words just as smooth as he claimed he’d prove his spiteful rumors wrong, extending his hand in what many would consider, heart-throbbingly seductive, almost as much as his dancing proposition.
Kore stared at the hand looming in her vision, clearly hesitant and wary once more. This was war—she needed to be on her toes, Hades had constantly told her. Then she had to think about why. Would it really matter if he were to stick a knife in her through a dance? Did she care? For both questions she came up with the same answer. No. She didn’t care. She hadn’t cared in a long, long time.
Persephone glanced between his roguish features and his hand before coming to a decision. She reached up and gently took his hand in her soft, slender hand, standing up from her throne as she did so. Her expression was still slight of curiosity and wariness, nearly covered by the oppressing blankness of her features that matched her emptied out insides.
“Lead the way,” she said quietly, her gentle tone not matching her cautious gaze as she stared at him.
ATHENA
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Athena by this time had arisen from her uneasy respite upon the throne, accompanied by the sudden flickering of the lights. She massaged the front of her neck, glaring at her brother as he triumphantly placed his steps towards the banquet table. This has already taken a questionable start her thoughts mused. She nodded to Ami, a sincere sensation of both warmth and a certain protectiveness followed as she watched the young goddess skip her way towards the banquet table, followed by Zena. She was glad of the dragon’s appearance that evening. She feared it would be needed. Following the stuttering of the candle lit chandeliers and hung lanterns, an unwelcome and somewhat familiar presence emerged from the shadows of the entrance. Eris had not changed, not even in all those years and ages before - she was the same, and her presence provoked the same boiling sensation in Athena’s blood. A wry smirk cast upon her features, she advanced slowly down the few stairs to the floor, as Eris continued to mock and scorn. The apple was tossed into the air, a golden weight of rivalry and remembrances of a time of war and bloodshed - only this time, the Goddess caught the stone fruit in the palm of her right hand, hardly stirring far from her stance. “Shame really, she must degrade herself to intimacies with mere mortals. Her looks simply aren’t enough to entertain the deities, I suppose.” Athena felt a subtle current of pride that surged through her core. If Eris wished to grace the gathering uninvited, she wouldn’t stop her. After all, it might do her brother some good to be placed in the same uncomfortable strain, just as she had. Let her laugh. Let her flaunt herself to distraction. “Only, it won’t be the deities she distracts, of course. No no, I couldn’t be too generous there - poor creature!” Athena could not suppress a lowered laugh, as her gaze was instantaneously drawn to Ares.

What in the gods name is he doing now?
....Persephone??...what is he...

A strange and almost tension-surged atmosphere seemed to lure about the table, as Ami approached the forlorn-stricken spring goddess, followed by Zena. It was the dragon’s way to display her particular affections, but something struck Athena as unusual. Zena’s eyes - when she faced Ares...did she sense something? Perhaps I will discuss it with her later. She was all the more relieved when Persephone stretched out her hand to ward Ami away from her three headed canine guardian. We certainly do not require any more excitements, not on this night.
A tense sensation gripped her throat, catching her voice and drawing her attention towards an older figure that approached from the shadows. His complaints and criticisms circled the gathering, and seemed to provoke discussion amongst the guests. She cast a somewhat threatened, but also understanding glance towards Scrane.

Of course someone would say something, there was too much to say. There was too much to anticipate. She did however feel that his comments were sordid, not considering their possible truthfulness. She leant her head to one side at a slight angle, squinting her eyes towards him, a somewhat lightened gleam in her cheeks as she attempted to qualm his grudging in the least argumentative way, shaking her head subtly. The goddess could not help but feel drained, tiredness from a growing and decaying anticipation overwhelming her senses. It was without surprise when she watched her brother prepare to escort Persephone to the floor - she had no inkling of what he was doing, but she knew with certainty that his intentions were as malicious and self-assertive as they were without true feeling. She lifted her forefingers in initiation towards one of the nearby Servants, lowering her voice as the young man approached. “Will you...keep a close watch on them. The night is growing weary, and I fear....” her voice trailed off, she nodded towards the servant and dismissed him to his former duties, attending to the guests.

Eris chuckled at Athena's response, the chuckled then turned into a haughty laugh before it was replaced with a smirk. Walking over to the prideful goddess her arms were placed on her hips head tilted a little at her response. "My darling at least I can have sex with mortals or anyone really. Didn't you "swear" to your all-powerful God Zeus that you wouldn't have sexual relations? Well that god is dead...are you still faithful to a dead weak God? It seems like you are. Pathetic really." She laughed again her eyes raking over her god-awful attire then back to her eyes. "What truly is degrading is how you begged a mere mortal for a piece of fruit...and you wound up failing at that...goddess of wisdom? Goddess of desperation is more like it...and you let your brother treat you like the piece of meat that you are...I really do have pity for you Athena...nothing you can say or do to me will change how incompetent of a goddess you are...my job is to cause strife and discord...not waste my time with useless deities who think they are powerful but they're not..." Her smirk never left her face she turned around walking away before stopping. "Maybe if you let someone deal with your snatch that stick up your pretentious ass will disappear...people will actually start to respect you....but not like I care...I don't respect you anyway" She licked her lips sauntering away back over to her father. Grabbing another glass of wine from a passing her she let the intoxicating liquid touch her lips and slide down her throat. If there was one thing Dionysus was excellent at it is producing the finest bottles of wine that even Ares could get drunk off the drink. Speaking of Ares, Eris sight was set on him in his magnificent armor, the same armor her hands grasped as she was sent to euphoria each time they encountered one another. Recently the two of them had a heated altercation and although she said some hurtful words to him she wished she could take it back. Ares was the only man Eris acted genuine towards, they were two sides of the same token. His tattooed chiseled body sent shivers down her body, the way his smirk could send her in a lustful daze, his dark gaze piercing through her heart everything Eris wanted in a man Ares had. She sighed crossing one arm across her waist taking another sip of her wine, from her peripheral vision she could spot him making his way over to her before his attention was cut short when the widowed goddess of spring arrived through the doors. Behind her were the creatures Eris admired and would often attempt to obtain. Cerebus. The three-headed dog along with some of her children got along very well and she has adored the beast ever since. Eris knew Kore would rather be in her chambers than here at an event without the love of her life walking beside her hand in hand. The goddess of strife felt a slight tinge of pity for the widow but it was erased by curiosity as she watched Ares made his way over to the young woman. Her curiosity was replaced with excitement, she knows Ares is not a coward and is a straight-forward man and even though she could have intervened from letting be an idiot pursuing a recently widowed goddess, she made sure she had front row seats to the shitshow that was about to unfold in front of her. Eyes widen her cynical smile plastered on her face, she looked at her father "I am very pleased that I showed up to this event today father...not only did I put a goddess in her place but I get a show that will turn into a disaster oh what a glorious day" She wanted to jump up and down like a little child witnessing the scene unfold in front of her. "Ares is such a fool for pursuing Kore but he never backs down from a challenge...I can't wait to see how this ends but I know it will definitely end in chaos~"

Erebus
Location: Mount Olympus | Interactions: Eris (@h.e.r )| Mentions: Ami (@Amyleii), Ares (@esthersilvers), Kore (@Ms. Sparrow), Zena/Athena ( Zena_Kuzuki Zena_Kuzuki ), Scrane ( Huntertabbysandshark3 Huntertabbysandshark3 )

Erebus was watching Cerberus intently with a smile growing larger on his face with each step closer to the beast the goddess of innocence took. His delight was cut short by none other but the annoying grump of an apparent old man, Scrane. The god was not as old as others in the room but definitely acted as though he was the oldest. The face that he had the guts to berate each immortal in the room was not only embarrassing, but also infuriating. The comment made to Erebus didn't bother him, he had nothing to be ashamed of. He is not responsible for the actions of the other immortals and his powers transcend farther than the reaches of this world alone. What was annoying is that this god of lesser powers thought he was of higher status than he really is, and that will not stand. Erebus' eyes began to darken as he took a breath and looked away from the crazy old coot.

Looking back and hopeful some bloodshed would occur, Erebus couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment as Kore sternly made Ami back away from the magnificent three headed beast. A shame, I really would have appreciated that. There was nothing behind Kore's actions or eyes, just the same clear emptiness she's expressed throughout her emotional suffering. Of course she didn't want to be at this pitiful excuse of a peace discussion, she was still mourning. This whole ordeal is the cause of her suffering. She was being swarmed by Ami and Ares when Zena came and seemingly calmed things down. Erebus couldn't tell what was being said but there was an air around them that was seemingly serene but so much so that it was strained. Like it was forced to appear casual when the players in question would most likely not have a simple conversation. Erebus didn't care at this point, he was still slightly annoyed.

Athena, at last, moved since the start of the party. She attempted to softly defame Eris and of course that would not go unnoticed. As expected, Eris took direct strides up to Athena to immediately shut her down. That's one thing Eris definitely inherited, putting people in their place. She just did it in her own way with no need for a second thought. As Eris made her way back to Erebus' side, the room grew darker. The night was officially upon them and his powers would be at their strongest, when they were needed to be used. When she finally returned, she sighed as she looked around. She seemed bored until a genuine wicked smile appeared on her face when Kore followed Ares onto the dance floor. He chucked and clanged his wine bottle to her glass. “You did indeed put her in her place.” He took a swig of wine from the bottle. “I agree, things are doomed to end poorly. I don't wish it for Kore but she will have protection from all angles.” He looked at his daughter with complete determination and a hint of anger in his voice. If anyone would understand his feeling, it would be her. “This show needs to start. I want to remind someone of their place. Care to join me?” He doubted she would turn down a chance to do what she loved, cause discord, and he hoped that she would already know his intention to remind Scrane of his place in the immortal ranks since he spoke out earlier.
