Being an adult sucks lmao but I generally enjoy this job except for the fact that someone snitched on me for being on my phone the other day so my boss was like “if you have time to do that you have time for more work” and I’m like ugh I would understand the snitch if I wasn’t being productive, but I literally cleared all the cases I was working on before taking a small break. And also, we’re all adults, why are you snitching? We are in a competitive position because the company isn’t going to keep all of us at the end of the summer, so maybe they were trying to secure their spot by getting me to be one of the ones let go. Jokes on them though, I start a masters program in the fall so I would’ve been quitting anyway. Okay small rant over. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

I've been looking at getting certified QE so I can get a little more distance from the production push side of things. classes be expensive tho

I’m either gonna get a Masters in Management or a JD (and hopefully pass the bar to become an attorney). I was accepted in both programs and now have to decide what I want to do with my life. And trust me, the cost of these education paths is not lost on me. I got a scholarship for the Masters, waiting to see if I’ll get anything for the law school.

My tiny advice as a person with a master’s: To really use the mgmt degree you have to be really pushy in promoting yourself with relationships. For the JD, it’s still a lot of talking, but at least you do it in court. The biggest hurdle for the JD is actually getting started at a firm. Once you’re there you have a chance to actually grow based on work reputation.

That sounds excellent dude, especially when getting your first job. I hate to admit it but I only got my current job through a connection I made from uni. And it’s just for a regular government job. I’d hate to face the current job market at full force with no connects.

Good idea! What do yall think. Would yall like me to make a separate thread for that? Maybe like an introductions before going into cryosleep for the majority of the voyage to Vega Prime? And the main thread obvi is after all that when they land and wake up.

I just suggested cryosleep bc I already put that the ship had landed on the main thread, but if yall want to rp the voyage over we can do that! I’m open to either!

My vote would be for setting a deadline, giving players time to submit their CSes before posting actually starts, and plotting in the meantime. If everyone else wants to start posting right away I can join in, but either way I'd prefer a non-cryosleep option so as not to have to rewrite any plots xD

I'm so down with making a separate thread for pre-mission interactions! Especially since we already have more than half of the roster in. Hell, the characters don't even have to interact. Character introductions maybe? Write about what they were doing before they headed to NOVACORP?

I also prefer a non-cryo sleep option, some shenanigans before heading into Vega Prime would do good for character relations later on

Okay. I’ll give everyone until Friday at 9pm PST to get their CS in. In the meantime I like your idea Lai - we can write about what our characters were doing, how they were approached, how they accepted the offer, etc.

ETA: I’ll make the thread in like an hour maybe less.

One round where each character has an intro post that goes just up to the point where they accept the offer as we wait for the remaining characters, then once all CSes are in and every crewmember has had their intro, you put up the 'Chapter 1: Touchdown' narration bit and the mission/story can start from there?
