Commander Alucard stood atop a platform that hovered high above the ground. His golden eyes scanned the faces of Master Knights who would be meeting their mentors today.

This would be a proud day for each of them. While normally, master Knights would be given an apprenticeship right out of the academy, these Knight were given special treatment.

They were taken on high ranking missions that most master Knights wouldn't see until their second year. These select few were chosen because of their potential and have been groomed to fight at a higher level.

"Well done." The vympiri spoke, his voice booming throughout the spherical room. "You've done well to make it this far. However, things will only become more difficult from here on out. As you all know, you will be receiving your mentors today. These Divine Knights are the cream of the crop who will no doubt one day become Holy Knights. You are here because you have the potential to succeed even them with enough hard work and dedication. As stated before, the road ahead will not be easy. It will be long and perilous. You're masters will push you to your limits and beyond... Some of you may even die."

Alucard took a moment to observe the small group. None of them seemed shaken.

Excellent candidates indeed. The vympiri thought.

"If any of think you have what it takes, meet your master in the docking the left wing docking bay within thirty minutes. Your master will be given to you via holopad. Dismissed."

Lyrael took a deep breath. She was suppose to be assigned someone to mentor today. She had added her name to the list of candidates from the Divine Knights somewhat last minute. She had struggled with that decision, worried that she didn't have what it took to properly teach somebody. She had received encouragement from her parents when she had brought it up in her letters home, both detailing how they first felt with students and with having her as a child. It didn't quell all of Lyrael's fears, but proved to her that the majority of them were overblown. How ever it came about, she would give the Master Knight assigned her the best she had. If that was good enough would only be found out through trying.
Though there was plenty of time to go before the scheduled meeting, Lyrael went ahead and stationed herself in the left wing docking bay. With some time to wait and feeling she could still stand to unwind a little before the meeting, she pulled out a harmonica from inside her armor. It wasn't her first pick of instrument, but Lyrael had gotten into it due to sheer portability and size. She played a simple tune as she leaned against a wall with a good view of the entryway to the docking bay.
